    OOC: Nah, I just forgot xD

    ~~~~~
    "Buzz, use Light Screen," Ed cried.
    The Electivire grunted and held his hands out towards the incoming attack. A pink rectangular barrier phased into existence in front of the large yellow beast, and the dark wind crashed into it. A few of the tendrils wrapped around, making contact with Buzz, but the Light Screen held most of it off. That didn't keep Buzz from shivering at the touch of what DID manage to get past his shield.
    "Listen up Buzz, hit that thing with Ice Punch first, alright? Hopefully that will bring it to the ground, then charge up a super strong Fire Punch and smack it as hard as you can!" Ed ordered. Luckily, the wind had died down so that I could hear him properly.
    The Electivire nodded and held his fist up and to his side. Small blue crystals grew around his hand, and I knew that if I was down on the platform I could feel the cold even past the Drifblim's Sunny Day. The Electivire jumped up high, trying to get to the Driflbim. He swung his fist at the Ghost-type and clipped the bottom of its spherical body. The Driflbim moaned and began to float downwards even as Buzz returned to the ground.
    "Great job!" I yelled out to Ed.
    Buzz didn't stop, though. He held his arm back and at his side, and flames slowly began to well up in his palms. The fire began to grow, leaking past his fingers and knuckles until it coated his hand entirely. The Fire Punch continued to grow, and it suddenly expanded until the fireball was almost as big as Buzz himself. The Electabuzz ran forward, dragging the fireball behind him, and he jumped up into the air just as he swung his arm forwards. The huge fireball blasted off of Buzz's fingers and into the Driflbim, exploding when it made contact. The Drifblim moaned and rose high into the air. Instead of the fire dissipating, however, it gathered around the Ghost-type, providing it with a fiery veil. The Drifblim grew in size, and the fire lanced back down to Buzz. A few of the streams hit the ground around Buzz, but most of the fire spout smashed into the Electivire. He sank to one knee, and when the fire finished boiling across him, he was panting hard.
    Buzz charged forward, a massive fire ball exploding from his right hand. He swung with all of his might and clobbered the dual Ghost/Flying-type. The fire transferred from Buzz's fist to the Drifblim's body, encloaking the wild Pokemon in a fire. It had been burned! I was ecstatic, a status ailment would make this thing much easier to catch. But, the fire continued to swirl around the Blimp Pokemon's body, making its way up into the balloon. The heat caused the Pokemon to rise high in the sky, just as I had expected, but there was another side effect that although I was aware could happen, didn't think it would. The burn had activated an extremely rare ability, Flare Boost. Flare Boost caused a Pokemon's Special Attacks to be much stronger when it was burned, meaning Buzz's Light Screen was pretty much neutralized now. Although I knew that there was a chance Drifblim could have the ability, I didn't think this one had it, as only a select few Drifblim had this ability. The odds were low, so I didn't want to avoid using Fire-type moves on it, only because of the risk of getting a burn and activating Flare Boost. Looking back, I should have avoided them, but hey, hindsight is twenty-twenty.
    A ball formed in front of the Drifblim, and it seemed to absorb the energy of the intense sunlight beating down on the plateau. The ball had become a ball of fire and soon was launched towards Buzz, who was too exhausted from his powerful Fire Punch to dodge, and took it head on. Luckily, Light Screen was still active, so Buzz didn't take too much damage. He still took quite a bit of damage though, and was forced down to one knee, panting.
    I knew I had to keep getting damage on this thing and tire it out, but I wasn't sure how. At this point, the Drifblim was too high in the air for contact moves, and Buzz wouldn't be able to aim his Thunderbolt very well due to the glare from the sun. Was option was to do what I did against Sigilyph, and use Magnet Rise to get in the air so that Buzz can hit the Flying-type with his contact moves. Another, more unorthodox option, would be to try a strategy that I had seen on TV before.
    It was an Electivire battling a Gliscor in the quarterfinals of the Sinnoh League Tournament. The Electivire would have to defeat three Pokemon in order to get the comeback victory, but it's first obstacle was a Ground-type, making the situation look very grim for the Electivire trainer. Seeing the obvious disadvantage, and seemingly expecting it, the Electivire trainer ordered his Pokemon too use Thunder on the ground. Obeying his trainer, the Electric-type dropped to all fours and jammed his two tails in to the ground, electricity bursting through his body as the Thunder attack ripped through the rocky field and shot rock shards high to the air, almost as if it was a Stone Edge attack. It had worked, and the rock shards hit the Gliscor, causing heavy damage to the Gliscor before it finally fell to a Brick Break attack.
    The attack was impressive to say the least, and I would certainly have to try it, not yet though. I wanted to be original, and not copy off what I saw on TV. Although if I had to, I would certainly use that attack as a last resort. For now, I had something else planned. Sure, Buzz couldn't aim his Thunderbolt, but if he used Discharged, the attack would shoot electricity around the whole vicinity, meaning Buzz wouldn't have to aim. It was worth a shot, I had to get this thing exhausted some how.
    "Buzz, you alright?" I asked the Pokemon who was still on one knee.
    Without responding, he stood up tall. He looked back to me and gave me a thumbs up, a cocky grin on his face. That was Buzz, always confident in his abilities.
    "Alright bud, use Magnet Rise to get yourself up in the air so that the Drifblim can't fly away from you, then get as close to the Drifblim as you can and launch a Discharge attack!" I called out to the Electric-type.
    Buzz nodded, but instead of using Magnet Rise the casual and efficient way, he decided to spice it up. He jumped up in the air, and at the apex of his jump, kicked his feet down and sparks of electricity flew out the bottom of his feet as a light buzzing sound began to come from Buzz's vicinity. I assumed that it was the magnetic power working between Buzz and the ground. Buzz was wobbly for a few seconds before he was able to steady himself, then he flew up in the air as high as he could without deactivating the Magnet Rise, and raised his tails in the air. Blue sparks of electrical power began to spark from his tail tips, as a jolt of electricity connected the tips to each other. Buzz's tails began to whirl around each other, the jolt from before turning into a circle of electricity that grew larger with each quarter of a rotation, until finally his tails were completely coiled together and the circle of electricity had become at least fifty yards from end to end.
    OOC: Sorry for the bad post
    ~~~~~

    "Buzz, you alright?" I heard Ed call. I didn't know the answer to his question, but it was revealed when the Electivire stood up straight and gave his Trainer a confident thumbs up. I couldn't hold back a grin. I watched as Ed gave his orders to the Electivire, and was surprised when the large Electric-type jumped up into the air. He kicked his legs down towards the ground, and sparks leaped out of his feet. When I saw Electivire continue to rise upwards, I realised he had activated his Magnet Rise. The blue sparks from his feet curled upwards to surround his body, and soon enough he was travelling in a blue sphere of pure electricity. When he neared the Drifblim, the sphere expanded, and the electricity crawled across the Ghost-type's spherical body. The Drifblim moaned and it vanished from sight amongst the powerful Discharge.

    When I saw it again, there was a swirling purple ball of energy glowing inbetween its four nimble arms. It grabbed onto the Shadow Ball with one of these arms and flung it towards Buzz, knocking him back down towards the ground. However, he managed to regain control of his flight, and stopped himself from being smashed into the plateau. It looked like this was going to be a close capture, though - the Drifblim's burn was slowly lowering its health. Ed would have to think about a capture sometime soonish.

    When the Discharge attack made contact, Drifblim had disappeared into thin air after it was struck by the attack. It disappeared from sight and reappeared a few yards below where it had been. An ominous ball of energy appeared in front of the dual Flying/Ghost-type Pokemon and was launched straight towards Buzz. The attack collided with Buzz and knocked him off balance. Buzz began to plummet to the ground for a moment but managed to catch himself, steadying himself and seemingly shrugging off he powerful Ghost-type attack as if it was nothing.

    "Nice." I mumbled to myself.

    That's when I noticed something. A flame grew from Drifblim's balloon and covered his body, causing him to cringe in pain. Drifblim had taken burn damage, something I had no expected at all considering his ability, Flare Boost. This meant that I would have to be much faster with the capture process, or else Drifblim would faint from the burn damage, meaning I won't be able to capture it.

    For a split second, the Shadow Ball attack and Drifblim disappearing and reappearing reminded me just how scared I was of ghosts, and it made me flash back to a battle I saw on TV involving a Ghost-type.

    "Begin!" the referee called out.

    Both boys grabbed their first Pokeball and tossed it onto the field at the same time.

    "Go! Primeape!" The kid on the right, named Christian Anderson, shouted as he threw his first Pokeball to center field.

    "Let's go, Poliwrath!" his opponent, Henry, called out.

    The two Pokemon shared glances as they stood only a couple feet away from each other at centerfield, when Christian broke the silence.

    "Primeape, Cross Chop!"

    Primeape formed an "X" with his arms as they began to glow.

    "Poliwrath, Waterfall!"

    Poliwrath's body became surrounded by water as it launched itself at Primeape. The two attacks collided and knocked each Pokemon on it's back.

    "Poliwrath use Dynamic Punch, quick!"

    Wasting no time, Poliwrath hopped to his feet and jumped in the air, it's fist glowing a bright white as it started to come crashing down on Primeape.

    "Primeape, dodge it and use Aerial Ace!"

    Primeape used it's powerful arms to launch itself off of the ground just before Poliwrath gave a powerful punch to where Primeape was just laying, shattering the ground. Primeape landed on a rock and pushed itself off of it with all his might, as he flew towards Poliwrath with his arms in front of him, who could do nothing but watch as the Fighting-type crashed into him, knocking Poliwrath to the ground.

    "Poliwrath, get rid of that thing, use Body Slam!"

    "Seismic Toss, Primeape!"

    As Poliwrath jumped to his feet and jumped at Primeape, Primeape stepped nimbly to the right, causing Poliwrath to completely miss him. But before Poliwrath hit the ground, Primeape caught him by his ankles and spun him around once before tossing him high into the air, and having him land right in front of his trainer.

    The whole stadium paused for a minute, waiting for Poliwrath to stand up, but it didn't. "Poliwrath is unable to battle!" The referee called out. Henry Young returned Poliwrath and calmly withdrew his next Pokeball from his belt.

    "Come on, Gengar!" Christian's opponent shouted as he threw his second Pokeball to centerfield, revealing a Gengar.

    Christian cringed at this selection, knowing there wasn't much Primeape could do.

    "Primeape, Aerial Ace, quick!"

    Primeape leaped into the air and started to descend towards Gengar, it's arms in front of it as it accelerated down to Gengar.

    "Shadow Ball!"

    Gengar held it's stubby arms above its head as a purple ball of energy formed between it's hands, then just as quickly as the ball had formed, Gengar made a throwing motion and sent the ball hurling towards Primeape, smacking him in mid air and causing him to fly several feet higher then he already was.

    "Finish it off with Psychic."

    As Primeape was helplessly flailing in the air, Gengar's eyes glowed purple , then Primeape's body became outlined in that same color as he was sent flying from centerfield to the wall behind his trainer.

    "Primeape is unable to battle!"

    Christian returned Primeape to it's Pokeball and thanked it for taking out Poliwrath, then took his next Pokeball off his belt.

    "You're up, Eevee!" Christian shouted as he threw his next Pokeball out, revealing the cute brown Pokemon.

    Henry smirked, "Focus Blast!"

    Gengar did the same thing he did with Shadow Ball, except this time the ball of energy was red.

    "Eevee, Double Team!"

    As Gengar launched the Focus Blast attack, Eevee created multiple copies of itself, and the foe's attack hit the wrong Eevee.

    "Shadow Ball, Eevee!"

    All the Eevee copies began to charge a ball of purple energy in front of their faces, but then only the real Eevee launched the attack.

    "Gengar, Shadow Ball, 10 o'clock!"

    Gengar turned slightly to the right and blindly launched a Shadow Ball attack, which went on to collide with Eevee's Shadow Ball, causing an explosion of ominous purple energy.

    "Gengar, Focus Blast!"
    "Eevee, Shadow Ball!"

    The two Pokemon launched their attacks simultaneously. However, since Fighting-type moves have no effect on Ghost-types, the two balls of energy simply traveled through each other, and each Pokemon took the full brunt of the attack. Eevee landed next to Christian unconscious, while Gengar was knocked on it's back, but managed to get up.

    "Eevee is unable to battle!"

    Christian knelt down and pet his unconscious Pokemon before returning it to it's Pokeball. He placed his hand on his final Pokeball and took a deep breath. One wrong move, and his dreams would come to a crushing end. "Let's go, Golduck! You got this!"

    Gengar gave an evil grin as Golduck emerged from it's Pokeball, as if it knew it was going to win. Christian's nerves had reached a peek, he knew what he had to do to win; get in close to Gengar and hit it with a Shadow Claw. A single Shadow Claw was sure to knock out the Ghost-type considering it already took damage from Eevee's Shadow Ball. But that strategy was a double-edged sword, getting in close would leave Golduck vulnerable to a Shadow Ball attack. Then there was Gengar's final move, Christian had no clue what it was, but judging from Gengar's malicious grin when Golduck was sent out, it must be Thunderbolt.

    Christian was snapped out of his thoughtful state of mind when Henry called out an attack, "Gengar, Shadow Ball."

    Gengar shot a ominous ball of energy straight at Golduck.

    "Dodge it!"

    Golduck leapt out of the way but wasn't fast enough, the Shadow Ball attack hit his leg sending him into an uncontrollable spin as he fell back to the ground.

    "Hydro Pump, Golduck!"

    Without even bother to stand back up, Golduck launched a Hydro Pump attack that hit Gengar dead on, sending it flying into the wall behind it's trainer.

    "Gengar is unable to-" The referee started to say, but stopped when Gengar began to get back to it's feet.

    "Energy Ball, Gengar!"

    Gengar charged this attack the same way he did his other three, except this time the ball of energy was green. He launched it at Golduck.

    "Roll out of the way, dude!"

    Still laying on his stomach, Golduck swiftly rolled to his left, the Energy Ball barely missing as it left a small crater in the ground.

    "Now, finish it off with Psychic!" Christian shouted.

    The jewel on Golduck's head began to glow, as did his eyes. Then an aura formed around Gengar's body as an invisible explosion sent him flying into the same spot he landed a few moments ago, this time completely motionless.

    "Gengar is unable to battle!" The referee called out.

    Henry returned Gengar to it's Pokeball and swiftly withdrew his final Pokeball. "Go, Magmortar!"

    Christian smiled, it was in the bag.

    "Golduck, Hydro Pump!"

    "Magmortar, Thunderbolt!"

    Christian Anderson's jaw dropped at this command. He completely forgot Magmortar was capable of learning Thunderbolt.

    As Golduck sent a powerful jet of water towards Magmortar, Magmortar fired a Thunderbolt right over the column of water. The two attacks attack collided with their target almost simultaneously. Magmortar was sent flying behind it's trainer as Golduck stood there being shocked by the super-effective attack. Neither Pokemon got up.

    The referee just stood there, not knowing what to do. He looked around at both trainers, then at their Pokemon, then back at the trainers. Suddenly, a league official ran onto the battle field from the tunnel behind Christian and whispered something into the referee's ear. After a moment of conversation, the referee turned his microphone on.

    "By Indigo League rules, we will review the previous play to see which Pokemon hit the ground first. The first Pokemon to hit the ground will be considered the first to be unable to battle." The referee announced over the microphone. Then he and the league official rushed off into the tunnel behind Christian.

    By now, both Pokemon regained consciousness. Henry was standing at the wall talking to his Pokemon while Christian was at about centerfield with Golduck. Both of them on one knee, Christian had his arm around Golduck with his head down and his eyes closed and Golduck had it's head buried in Christian's chest. "You did great, man. Win or lose, I'm proud of you." Christian whispered to his Pokemon.

    "Gold." Golduck responded.

    It seemed like an eternity, but really it was just 3 minutes. The referee came walking back out to the battlefield. He stood in his usual spot and turned his microphone on.

    "After further review, Magmortar's Thunderbolt made contact first."

    Henry raised his fist in the air upon hearing this.

    "However, Magmortar hit the ground before Golduck fell to the ground. Therefore, Golduck is the victor. Since that was both trainers' final Pokemon, that means Christian Anderson is victorious and will move on to the second round of the Indigo League Tournament."

    Henry slumped to his knees as Christian and Golduck stood up and embraced each other.

    "That's my dude, Golduck! I knew you could do it!" Christian said with a huge smile as he and Golduck hugged each other.

    Ed snapped out of his chance and remembered that he was in the middle of trying to capture a very rare Pokemon. Focusing back on the battle, he went through a mental check list, considering his options. There weren't many options for him, his only real options being Thunder Punch and Thunder itself. Thunder was much too powerful, and was a long shot to hit the sun anyway, so that was ruled out. He could potentially use the Thunder into the ground technique that he considered earlier, where Buzz would jam his tails into the ground and shoot a Thunder attack across the plateau, send pointed stones into the air at the Drifblim and acting like a faux Stone Edge attack. Ed went back and forth several times in his head, until he ultimately made his decision. Thunder Punch should do the perfect amount of damage to bring this thing to its last leg, especially after it takes residual damage from burn, and make it an easy capture. It would have to be a pretty good Thunder Punch, but I believed in Buzz.

    I figured the best way to go about it would be to do what we did with Sigilyph. Use Quick Attack to get in close to the Drifblim before it can retaliate, and then hit it hard with a Thunder Punch attack. Hopefully this went according to plan.

    I finally decided I should just go with the attack, and not overthink it.

    "Buzz, use Quick Attack to get in close, then hit it hard with a Thunder Punch!"

    Buzz didn't bother nodding to show he understood, he took off at full speed straight towards the awaiting Ghost-type. A blinding white trail behind him as he held his fist to his side, sparkling with more and more electricity every second, until finally his whole forearm was bursting with bolts of electricity. He pulled back and launched his fist forward with all of his might, a malicious look in his eyes. He wanted Drifblim to remember this hit.

    “Alright Broadblade, let’s get close to the plateau,” I said. “Looks like the battle is starting to wind down.”

    Broadblade nodded and the Staraptor wheeled around, approaching the plateau from behind. I didn’t want to get involved in the battle – in fact, it was against regulations – so I gave the two Pokemon a wide berth. We didn’t land yet though – even though the battle was near its end there was still very much a potential for things to go wrong, and I wanted to be in a good position in case that happened.

    “Buzz, use Quick Attack to get in close, then hit it hard with a Thunderpunch!” Ed yelled.

    The Electivire held his arm out to his side, and electrical energy flickered around his fist. The sparking grew in size and Buzz kicked powerfully off the ground. A white line of energy was left behind, almost like Buzz was moving so fast that he was ripping a hole in space-time. The Thunderpunch continued to spark and the Electivire swung his fist forward, even as the Drifblim started glowing purple. The aura increased in size until it coated the Ghost-type entirely.

    That was when the Thunderpunch made contact with the Drifblim. The electrical energy passed through and around the Driflbim, and it moaned unhappily. It flailed its arms through the air, and this caused miniature tornadoes to form. The tornadoes whirled around the Electivire, slicing tufts of yellow hair off his body. He grunted in pain and backed away from the swirling Air Cutter, waiting for his next command. As he hovered backwards, the harsh sunlight began to fade, and clouds covered the blue sky once again. The Drifblim’s Sunny Day had finally ended.

    Buzz closed in on the foe Drifblim and clobbered the Ghost-type with his fist that was bursting with electrical energy. In response, Drifblim fired a barrage of wind currents at Buzz that swirled around in and seemed to be cutting him. Even though Buzz resisted Flying-type moves, this Air Cutter looked like it was hurting. However Buzz, with the help of Light Screen, didn't seem too hurt by the Air Cutter attack.

    Drifblim was clearly on its last leg, if it took some more burn damage, then it would no doubt be ready to be caught. However, if I hit it, then it would most likely KO the Drifblim, which would blow.

    It didn't take me long to decide on what to do.

    "Alright Buzz, stand your ground. Brace yourself and take whatever Drifblim sends at you like a champ." I called to Buzz.

    I would allow Drifblim to move, which would cause it do be damaged by its burn. As soon as that happened, I would throw one of my Super Balls at it, since a regular Park Ball wouldn't work on an evolved Pokemon.

    I slowed my breathing and closed my eyes, waiting to hear the sound of Drifblim being burned. And as soon as I heard it, I threw my Super Ball right at the Ghost-type and crossed my fingers.

    OOC: Let me know if you want to leave in your next post, I think you said you wanted to once you capped this thing.

    I got a sudden bad feeling, a shiver of intuition. I didn't get them often, but whenever I did, something inevitably bad happened.

    "Broadblade, get closer, I want to be within lunging distance of Ed if this goes south," I said.

    <What, ya think sum bad sheet gunna go down?> he asked me.

    "Not sure," I replied shortly.

    We moved closer and I heard Ed call out, "Alright Buzz, stand your ground. Brace yourself and take whatever Drifblim sends at you like a champ."

    Oh, not good. Any Wild Pokemon whatsoever would take that as a challenge, and I could tell by the way Driflbim was hovering ominously over all of us that it was going to do something big.

    It turned out I was right. The purple aura around the Drifblim's spherical body expanded before shrinking again. As it shrunk, white tendrils of energy began swirling around the Ghost-type's long arms, and they joined together at their tips. A giant white sphere began to grow, being fed by the streams of power. It grew and grew until it was big enough to house all four of us. Then, it cracked open, and a rainbow-coloured beam of energy blasted downwards, right towards Buzz. The Hyper Beam smashed into the Electivire, pushing him down into the mountain.

    "Return him!" I yelled at Ed as the mountain began making ominous creaking sounds. My Trainer was startled into action, and he returned the Electric type just before I grabbed him by the hand and hoisted him up onto Broadblade's back. My Staraptor wheeled up over the Drifblim, coasting over the large Ghost.

    I nodded to Ed and he threw the Super Ball towards the Drifblim. It was absorbed in a flash of white light, and the ball made its echoing ding sound that denoted a successful capture. Broadblade dove after the small spherical device and I grabbed hold of it in my hand. I grinned and tucked the ball away inside my pocked before looking over my shoulder at Ed.

    "What now?" I asked my Trainer.

    I'm gonna head out, I caught three Pokemon and it's hard to top the ones I caught. Thanks for taking me through my first run, and I think I'm the last person you've taken through the Heavens, so thats pretty sweet, too. Thanks again man.

    Also, when can I claim my pokes?

    OOC: You can claim them as soon as I put the Pokemon Claims post up, so about fifteen minutes after this one goes through.

    "I'm gonna head out, I caught three Pokemon and it's hard to top the ones I caught. Thanks for taking me through my first run," Ed asked from behind me.

    "Sure, not a problem," I replied, smiling back at him. It had certainly been an eventful run. I touched Broadblade with my mind and told him to take up back to the gate. Thankfully, it wasn't that far from the gate. My Flying-type informed me that it was going to be a ten minutes flight, so I slumped down against his neck and dozed for a little bit.

    I was roused by Ed's voice. "When can I claim my Pokes?" he asked me.

    "Oh, I'll hand them over to you at the Front Gate," I answered. I realised that we were descending, and I looked down. "Speak of the devil." I smiled.

    Broadblade flapped lower, and we both slipped off onto the ground right in front of the gate, where our run had begun a few hours ago. It had certainly been an eventful one - that Drifblim's Hyper Beam had been the strongest attack I'd seen in a long time. I wanted to go and check it out, so I handed Ed the three balls and shook his hand.

    "It was good to meet you," I said heartfeltedly. "I hope you come back to the Park some day."

    He shook my hand, nodded, and left through the gate. It swung shut automatically behind him, and I remounted Broadblade.

    "Back to the mountain," I murmured. "I wanna check if there are any structural faults. The last thing we want is the Heavens collapsing."
