Individual RP: Buzz

Buzz watched River execute the plan brilliantly, landing deftly on the thin pathway recovering some health that would prove useful later on. Then the Basculin seemed to get control of itself, and water started surging around its tail. The water churned until the fish released it, and Ivy and Haji had to back up as the Basculin waved his appendage, releasing the water in a wave that washed over River as she was resting.

The water soaked her feathers, and since the cave was a bit damper, Buzz knew it wouldn't be as easy to dry off the feathers and in the open air. Buzz wasn't too worried, River was used to flying in the rain back at the gym, although it had been a while since she had been there. River prefered to hang out at the Park when Buzz was training or being challenged.

The fish wasn't done attacking though, or at least preparing for it. Basculin then started swimming in tight circles, waiting for the water to swirl. Then he moved on to another spot, and soon, the water climbed into a tower as it spun, the water tornadoes flicking water everywhere as they prepared to strike the Xatu.

Buzz sighed, he was running out of ideas for attacks, he knew attacking head on wouldn't be the best idea, and he had to figure out a way to avoid River getting trapped in the whirlpool. Buzz would have to come up with something quickly as the swirling vortex of water was fast approaching the green Psychic bird. "River, take off and use a strong Ominous Wind to break the vortex, and use Tailwind to give it an extra hit of power." Buzz thought River could use the speed power from Tailwind to beef up the Ominous Wind rather than giving herself a boost of speed. "If that works then I want you to use Aerial Ace, diving through the gap in the Whirlpool to try and catch it unawares," finished Buzz.

"You know, I wouldn't mind seeing you fight a Pokémon; rather than having us do all your hardwork for you. I mean, just cause Pokémon; myself included, are suckers and are willing to obey, you think you are so much beetter than us," River said bitterly.

Oh just get on with it, you know you are going to it anyway. Do you not have anything else to complain about. I swear this is all you say everytime I tell you to attack, Buzz responded.

River then began to flap her wings furiously creating two powerful gusts of wind, the first was black as night, barely visible in the dark cave, whilst the second air current was tinged blue as it propelled the Ominous Wind at the oncoming water attack.

Ranger Ivy Frost

Buzz sighed as he thought of what to do next. She understood his frustration somewhat. This room wasn't the easiest for anyone to move around in, let alone conduct a battle in. Plus, they had been here a long time and battled a bit. The more you battled, the more you got wore down. It was a good thing they were coming closer to the end of the run.

Then Buzz have his order, though River didn't look too pleased. He wanted to use a Tailwind to power up her Ominous Wind attack, letting it break apart the spinning whirlpools for a few seconds. Then she'd be able to dive in with Aerial Ace and try to catch the fish when she wasn't looking, hiding behind her water twisters.

There was a humming of energy as the two seemed to converse with each other silently, but Ivy just shook her head. The Xatu still seemed like she was going to do what he asked, and as long as it went mostly smooth, there wasn't anything to worry about.

River rose in the air as she began to lap her wings rapidly. A ghastly mist formed on the wind, followed by another almost-invisible one. They twisted and coiled together, making the dark walls flicker as Ivy looked through the air. Then, with a powerful stroke of her wing, the air took off. It sliced into one of the whirling towers, the one that was slowly moving closer to her.

The Xatu saw her opportunity as soon as the water parted, being redirected by the dark bluish haze cutting it on both sides. It gave her just enough time to dodge through. The fish gave a surprised flash in the water as River whirled down to hit her, rising up into the air again before the fish could backlash.

Basculin wasn't done though, and the fish stilled as it prepared an attack. It opened is wide mouth and flopped her tail downward in the water so she could fire upward. Icy smoke spilled out of her maw as she shot a chilling Ice Beam at River. The beam hit the bird and sent her flying through the Whirlpool. She got caught in the current of it, being twirled around inside the water, and then it spat her out. She went sailing over the other side of the room, over the dry path and into the other pool with a large splash. The other water twisters tried to follow her and continue the attack, but they hit the stone lip and stopped, slowly dissipating, sending the room into an eerie quiet.

The fish was breathing harder, starting to get worn down. It probably wasn't used to many fights down here in the secluded pool. While she was sure there were probably underwater tunnels that connected most of them, it was still pretty isolated here. Ivy stared at the other pool mostly though. There was little movement where River had fallen into the water. She hoped she was okay.
