    @BlazeMaster; OOC Sorry, but I had trouble figuring out what to work with with there being Bide

    IC: After Seedot, and Mienfoo finished exchanging blows, this trainer made it a point to turn to me, and introduce himself. "Hi, I'm Joe," he said, before turning his full attention back onto the battle at hand. I couldn't blame him for keeping his full focus on this battle, but still at the same time Seedot didn't exactly have a varied movepool that it could get some work done with. In fact its movepool was more like a puddle than a pool, but still that didn't mean it couldn't get any work done. Of course I did certainly need to wonder what sort of move, or moves, Joe would end up doing.

    "Seedot, You're not going to like this, but we're going to have to use a Bide attack. Yes, Seedot sure. USE BIDE!" Joe commanded. That was certainly something I never remembered seeing done at the park before. Mostly because it was quite an unusual attack. Most people prefer to just go forth, and hit hard without looking back, but then again Seedot had been one of those Pokemon that wasn't the most equipped for battles, so any trick Joe could pull out here would be handy.

    Why was Bide rarely seen? Well, because of the way that it worked. Basically it just made your Pokemon a sitting duck for two, or three attacks leaving your opponent free to hit you however they liked, and however hard they liked. Now that wasn't to say that it made the Pokemon using Bide worthless. Far from it in fact. Bide would absorb any damage that the Pokemon got from attacks while using it, and return it at the foe at double the power. Of course though the problem with this was that the opposing Pokemon would actually need to hit you. If it was a trainer battle, and you called Bide your opponent could easily just have their Pokemon stat up while waiting for Bide to finish, giving them a serious advantage. It was a risky, but it was also gutsy too.

    Mienfoo took a quick glance at what Seedot was doing, and I don't know if it knew what was going on or not, but Mienfoo took the advantage of its foe standing still, it got into a stance, and closed its eyes going into a state of meditation. Over a small window of time an aura started to form around it, and it looked like it had reached a higher mental state, looking more powerful. It was using Calm Mind, a move that clears, and then focuses the users mind, raising both their Special Attack, and Special Defense in the process of doing so. It was preparing itself for anything, or perhaps taking caution because it remembered the Shadow Ball from a few moments ago. Either way though it didn't just stop there.

    Perhaps this was to get it to do something, or perhaps this was just to taunt, or maybe it just simply knew what Seedot was attempting. Mienfoo rushed over, and give it a couple of slaps to its face. The move was Doubleslap. Not particularly the strongest move, and not one that would benefit from the Special Attack boost either, just sort of one that would get on your opponents nerves. Maybe Meinfoo knew Seedot needed to wait, and so it took advantage of this to humiliate it, or maybe it was trying to cloud its head, and attack blindly. I wasn't sure of what, but I knew in the end it might not be too good.

    OCC: No worries @Ebail ; , I have plenty of time

    Seedot started to glow white, preparing to embrace any attacks and I waited, anticipant of any attack. Mienfoo gave us a quick glance and did nothing. No! I thought We can't have this happening again! He can't just not attack us! One of the advantages of Bide was that it was so tempting for an opposing Pokemon to strike Seedot hard at this point, especially as it looked so small and weedy. I remember the last time this move had failed me, at a battle with th Mikan Gym Leader.

    The battlefield was of blue water with floats in the middle, such as to allow my Pokemon to have a foothold. On one of these floats was lying Seedot, tired from many attacks. Above him a huge Gyrados towered, having dealt the damage, looking ready to do the final strike. There was only one thing I could think of doing to put off his offence.
    "Seedot use Bide!" I commanded over the rippling water. Gyrados could pack a punch, so this could turn the tables on the battle. Luckily the leader had promised an informal match, so I had nothing to lose. Seedot started to glow a brilliant white. As Gyrados prepared to sweep in to deal a blow the Gym Leader stopped him.

    "Wait, Gyrados. He's using Bide. We shouldn't attack him directly until he's finished!" He shouted. "Use Dragon Dance instead!" The Pokemon looked back to it's strong trainer and gave a nod of understanding. It was amazing that creatures like Pokemon were so intelligent, but those who commanded them often weren't. This Gym Leader was an exception, though. He had already sweeped my team with this Gyrados, and he looked ready to finish us off. The Gyrados flailed as gracefully as such a large creature could when in water, inadvertently creating violent waves that rocked the floating platform that Seedot was clinging to. The Gyrados started to glow a deep red and settled down again. His Attack strength and his Speed had risen. However Seedot kept on glowing as the platform settled down again. By now the Gyrados was getting impatient, tired of not attacking

    "Gyrados, do it again! Just once more I promise!" The Gym Leader said. As Gyrados started to flail about again I both wondered at the Gym Leader's control and also looked on exasperated at the lack of damage Seedot was taking. As the platform settled down Seedot's white aura faded. Bide had failed! At the Mikan Gym Leader's command Gyrados scoured the platform with Bright Red Flames, the Flamethrower attack finishing off my team.

    Mienfoo started to concentrate, meditating as those sorts of Pokemon can do. I was worried that this might lead to Bide failing again, as Mienfoo had enough concentration to outlast Seedot's Bide. This attack, Calm Mind, readied the foe for either attacking or being attacked by an opponent long ranged. This attack was useful for Mienfoo with it's weakness to long ranged Psychic type moves and it's Aura Sphere and Focus Blast attacks. Seedot kept on glowing white, waiting, possibly remembering that same incident in Mikan Gym.

    Mienfoo's eyes snapped open, it was ready to attack. I looked on, in a strange way delighted as he rushed forward and repeatedly slapped Seedot in the face several times. It was a Doubleslap attack, pretty feeble to be honest, but enough to ensure that Seedot could strike back next turn. I chuckled at the irony of such a powerful Pokemon having to slap each other around the faces, it gave me the image of a potential Mienfoo sitcom. Maybe Mienfoo found humour in it too, if so it would be great to have a comedic Pokemon.Seedot stepped back, reeling from the attack. I immediately felt remorse as the remembrance of the attacks that had pounded him came back to me. Seedot was suffering for me, and inside I was grateful. Seedot released his white aura outwards to return the evil done to it. What would happen next, I wondered as the attack sped towards Mienfoo.

    @BlazeMaster;

    Well, Joe didn't seem too upset by the amount of damage Seedot took thus far, but at the same time he also didn't exactly seem too pleased, since he needed Bide to absorb a decent enough amount of damage to put a dent in Mienfoo. There wasn't really anything Joe could do here though, aside from just looking in wait, waiting to see what Mienfoo would do, and if Seedot would be able to send the damage flying back. I just had to hope for him that it would work in the end.

    Mienfoo wasn't just going to sit here and do absolutely nothing while it waited for the duration of bide to end. It started forming an aura around itself, somewhat similar to what I saw come off it from Calm Mind, and it then created an energy blast in front of itself. It was a powerful blast, known as Aura Sphere. A special Fighting-type move, that couldn't miss its foe, because it would link the energy together between the user and the foe. This was no doubt the real reason that Mienfoo had used Calm Mind before, so that it could try to finish off Seedot, before it could fully execute Bide.

    Mienfoo fired the attack, and there was nothing that Seedot could do about it. It was stuck just waiting there, unless it was switched out of battle, but I knew Joe wouldn't switch it out, since it kept it there waiting for the purpose of damage. The blast smacked it dead on in the face, causing it to roll back a few feet, and hit its head against the cave wall behind it. Mienfoo looked very pleased by this, since it turned its back to its foe, and essentially patted itself on the back. However, this was not the time for it to be celebrating, since that didn't know out its opponent, and the time for it to strike back had arrived.

    Seedot started to glow, signalizing that it had finished absorbing any damage that it would. It then stuck the top of its head forward, and launched itself at Mienfoo, like it was a speeding bullet. It hit the Fighting-type Pokemon right it the stomach, causing it to fly back and smack against the wall. Seedot got back up, and was short on breath, but otherwise it was alright. Mienfoo on the other hand was grabbing at its midsection, coughing in pain. Bide certainly seemed like it was worth the wait while using it now, and thinks certainly looked like they were probably all but over here.

    @Ebail;

    Seedot continued to glow white, preparing to take on more attacks from Mienfoo. I admired the little Pokemon for it's courage in absorbing attacks so persistently and refusing to hesitate. Mienfoo looked formidable, prepared to take on anything it found but, contrary to my original prediction, seemed to have no idea of Bide's effect luckily.

    A halo formed around the Mienfoo's entire body as it started to conentrate like it had for Bide. I had no idea what was coming, I hoped it wasn't another Calm Mind. As much as I cared about Seedot's safety I was desperate to unleashe a powerful attack, not just one boosted by a double slap. Mienfoo formed a ball of focussed energy between it's hands. It was an Aura Sphere attack! Aura Sphere came from the user's special attack, which was boosted by Calm Mind. This was what Mienfoo had been planning all along, wait until I vulnerable and then strike extra hard.

    The powerful orb was shot from Mienfoo's hands straight towards Seedot. The Blast hit him straight in the face and sent him reeling back several paces. He still remained standing. Mienfoo smirked and turned it's back on the supposedly worthless opponent, clearly pleased with itself. Seedot, however, looked ready to battle. Bide had also charged too and now was the perfect time to release it.

    Seedot glowed bright white and inclined his head towards Mienfoo. The white aura dissappeared as he shot forwards, smacking his opponent straight in the torso, sending it flying. The attack was perfect, I was delighted at Seedot's success. The smirk on Mienfoo's face turned to a bitter expression as it climed back to it's feet. It had taken a lot of damage and now would be a good time to think about capturing it.

    But before that I wanted Seedot ready to take any more attacks, and that involved being fit and healthy. I could do multiple things, use Synthesis and restore Seedot's health or make it Harden again to prevent too much more damage being taken. There was definitely a simple solution here, to use both.
    "Seedot, well done!We're nearly there now! All I want you to do is use Synthesis and then Harden, then we'll be finished!" I commanded. It was true, I had thought the little Pokemon so useless before this battle, but my respect for him had been vastly increased. Seedot started to glow, absorbing the energy from the faint light and converting it into sugars to use for his body. I looked one last time at Mienfoo. She looked tired and I knew that I would capture the Fighting-type soon. I just needed a little patience.

    @BlazeMaster;

    It looked as though Mienfoo had sustained enough damage for a capture to be attempted now, but each trainer was different, and so for all I knew Joe didn't believe this to be enough damage. I mean, something in his eyes did show me that he didn't feel the battle was over just yet. If I had to guess I would figure that he would have Seedot use another Nature Power, hence another Shadow Ball, since that was really the only attack it had that could do any damage aside from Bide, though I doubted that he would have Seedot be a sitting duck again, or Explosion, and Explosion knocks out the user, and at this point will certainly knock out Mienfoo as well. So I could only figure that Nature Power was his only choice here.

    "Seedot, well done!We're nearly there now! All I want you to do is use Synthesis and then Harden, then we'll be finished!" Joe commanded. That was certainly not what I was expecting to hear him command. It was more like he was having Seedot brace itself for a while longer of battle. Was that really what he was after though, or was he just trying to stall maybe, and hope that Mienfoo would drain the remainder of its energy? I didn't really know what he was planning, but I was sure he had something in mind.

    Synthesis, and Harden were two moves he had used during this run so far. Well one was used, the other was just attempted, but was stopped before working. Synthesis was a move that would recover half of the Pokemon's maximum health, while Harden would boost the users defense by one stage. It was a handy move to be attempting, but it wouldn't do it any good if Mienfoo ended up using a Special Attack, especially since it had increased that stat for itself.

    Seedot looked like it was about to get its moves underway, but Mienfoo didn't want to have any of that at all it appeared. Despite the pain it got back up to its feet, and used a hand gesture with its index finger, trying to lure its opponent in. It was using Taunt, a move that forces your opponent to be unable to use any non damaging attacks. Sometimes this could be ignored, but in this case it seemed that Seedot fell for the simple taunt, and was now just a sitting duck.

    Mienfoo was still essentially short on energy, but it still seemed like it could summon up the strength for one more attack. It put its energy into its right leg, and jumped over at Seedot, getting a quick jump, and kick in against its face. It was Jump Kick, a powerful attack that could be hazardous to the user if they ended up missing. Both Pokemon were now pretty hurt, and low on strength. I didn't think either side would really be able to withstand one more attack at this point.

    Seedot started to absorb energy from the light from the Sun, but Mienfoo decided to get in the way again. The Pokemon jeered at Seedot, waggling it's finger at Seedot. I hoped against hope that the normally pleasant Seedot would ignore the taunt. But, to no avail, Seedot stared angrily at it's opponent, it had fallen for the taunt.

    Mienfoo looked ready to attack, ready for action. He leaped into the air with his right foot, almost hitting the ceiling, and hurtling towards Seedot, knee outstretched. He slammed into Seedot, sending the small Pokemon flying. Seedot, having just gained energy, was acceptably healthy. I was surpised at how powerful Mienfoo was without maximum energy. I must capture him.

    I felt around in my Pocket, taking out my second last Park Ball. I triggered the capture mechanism and threw it straight into the air towards Mienfoo. The Pokemon looked aghast, aware of what was about to happen. The ball openned up and swallowed the Pokemon whole. I wondered what was going to happen as the ball rolled around on the floor of the cave

    @BlazeMaster;

    Joe didn't really have any words to say, and I figured as much, seeing as how anything he could say had basically just played out before him. He had wanted his Seedot to do the defensive for a little longer, but Mienfoo put a stop to that, and so he knew this was essentially his time to attempt a capture, or else he would need to most likely sacrifice Seedot, and let it be knocked out if the battle went on any longer. He didn't look like he had any intention of doing that though.

    He pulled out a Park Ball, which if I saw the info I was given correctly he only had two of them left, due to entering with four Pokemon, and already capturing two of them, so even if this capture attempt ended up failing, and he couldn't get back to this ball right now, he had one more to spare if needed. I was hopeful that it didn't need to come to that though, but I guess only time would tell. He threw the ball at the Fighting-type he spent a good while battling, and watched as it was sucked it, and as the ball hit the ground. It shook around for a few moments before...

    "Good going Joe, it was actually very impressive seeing a Seedot managing to take down a Mienfoo, who would have thought such a thing was possible," I said, laughing a little as I walked over to the ball, which I placed in my pocket to join the Machop, and Swinub he had caught before I showed up here. "I never did get the chance to introduce myself, though it's a little late now, but my name is Gary. That being said, since you have three captures you can't leave with any more Pokemon than this, but if you wanted you could capture something else, and take that in place of one of these three. If you're happy with these three though I'll be more than happy to escort you out of here, so you can get to using these guys whenever you wish. It's your call."

    BLEEP...BLEEP...BLEEP...PING!! The Mienfoo was caught£ I gave a silent woop of victory as The Ranger walked over merrily and scooped up the ball. Having picked up the Poke Ball containing Mienfoo he deposited it in his pocket and introduced himself:
    "Good going Joe, it was actually very impressive seeing a Seedot managing to take down a Mienfoo, who would have thought such a thing was possible," He was right, I was immensly proud of the feat, especially of how Seedot had managed it. He continued to speak:
    "I never did get the chance to introduce myself, though it's a little late now, but my name is Gary. That being said, since you have three captures you can't leave with any more Pokemon than this, but if you wanted you could capture something else, and take that in place of one of these three. I thought for a moment: Seedot looked very tired, as did Chimchar. But there were so many other great things I could explore here. In the end I had to think about my Pokemon and their safety first.
    "Thanks for the offer, Gary, but these guys are looking pretty tired now. I think that now would be a good time to head back. Thank you," I replied.
