NBP​

Badal wanted to go deeper into the mountain, as he felt that there would be much better Pokemon to be found there.

"Sure, let's head deeper in," I said. As we started going towards the inner side of the mountain, it started snowing lightly. There were small grunts from Charizard as the hail particles dropped on him, and stinged him.

"Maybe you should recall your Charizard in its ball," I said, having a look at the sky. "Looks like there's a hailstorm brewing up."

We walked on a few more paces, and then spotted the most likely reason for the hailstorm. A Glaceon was lying curled on the ground, resting itself, and breathing heavily, throwing out the Hail attack.

"Would you like to battle it?" I asked.

"Oh Yes I do!
Charizard go out there and get 'em.
Charizard, use Flamethrower"said Badal.

Charizard flew up high, and it stared right into the Glaceon's eyes. He knew the Glaceon would give in, though it wouldn't give in easily.
Orange flames erupted out of Charizard's mouth and Charizard scowled in rage.

 

BP​

As soon as Badal spotted Glaceon, he quickly ordered his Charizard to begin battling it.

Cnarizard, too was now fully energized by the Heal Potion it had drunk, and it quickly got into a battle position. Glaceon had woken up as well, having sensed the commotion going on.

Badal ordered Charizard to use Flamethrower, and Charizard immediately shot up into the air. It started concentrating hard, building up heat in its mouth. Charizard had some special organs which could be used to generate heat, and finally spew fire onto the opponent. Charizard kept circling in the air and once it had gathered sufficient heat, it opened its mouth really wide, and blasted a huge breath of fire at the Glaceon. The flames shot towards Glaceon swiftly, but surprisingly, they barely came in contact the with Glaceon's body. They just zoomed past the Ice type, hurting it slightly, as it was quite vulnerable to heat. It was quite strange actually, as if Charizard hadn't been able to see Glaceon clearly.

Glaceon then quickly executed its own move. It was surrounded by a thin bluish-white aura, and within a second, multiple copies of Glaceon could be seen in front of us. There were six in all, and they would help Glaceon in avoiding being hit by attacks.

Moreover, this environment was not very good for Charizard. Small pellets of ice came falling on its body, causing slight damage to it.

"Charizard, this is going to be tough, but Flamethrower them all!"

Badal was very eager and wanted to catch Glaceon as soon as possible. Charizard felt that too.

Charizard used it's special organs to slowly create heat as it was flying and staring into Glaceon's eyes as though to strike fear and find the true one.
Charizard suddenly let out fire and was screaming with anger.

 

BP​

Nel decided to go the offensive way, and ordered his Charizard to attack all the six copies of Glaceon with a Flamethrower.

Charizard shot into the air again, and even though the hail stones kept pelting it, it concentrated hard on the battle at hand. It used its flame producing organs yet again, and belched out streams of red hot flames. The ice around the area started melting rapidly, and there was quite a lot of water all around.

"Be careful, Badal, we don't want this mountain to turn into a lake," I said in a warning tone. "I'm not forbidding you from using Fire-type attacks, but keep them controlled please."

As the flames had scorched the area, each of the five fake copies vanished into thin air. The real Glaceon was actually the one at the extreme end, and even though the Flamethrower hurt it quite a lot, a lot of its power and heat had already been exhausted.

Glaceon, however, wasn't going to give up so easily. It opened its mouth wide, and let out a few sharp sounds. I didn't know what that was supposed to be, but it seemed that all the hail and wind around suddenly found a single direction. The strong winds with small particles of ice, shot straight into Charizard's body, hurting its wings. A small layer of ice formed on either side of its wings, slowing him down quite a lot, and also restricting its ability to fly easily.

And along with all this, hailstones kept pelting Charizard, slowly lowering its health.

Charizard was very angry with Glaceon. Glaceon didn't understand that Charizard's overall intentions were to get it caught and raise it and let it have a happy future.

Charizard wasn't sweet to anyone once angered. He waited for Badal to say something, but Badal had his hands on his lips and was staring at the injured Glaceon. This meant only one thing

Charizard ran towards the Glaceon with anger and the Orange Dragon monster was faster than someone his size would've run. Charizards special organs were slowly creating energy and would release heat any moment.

"Fire Fang! He knows what I mean!" exclaimed Badal with happiness.

 

BP​

Badal wasn't too happy with what was going on, or so it seemed. His poor Charizard was now finding it very difficult to fly as well, owing to thin layer of ice on its wings.

Badal was in the middle of some furious thinking and was just about to say something to Charizard when the Fire Dragon rushed towards Glaceon quickly.
It barded its long teeth, which shone bright red. It was literally as hot as red iron, and would really sting Glaceon hard. Charizard rushed with all its strength towards Glaceon, but the winds and the ice slowed it down.

This gave Glaceon enough time to get ready for its own attack. It too opened its mouth wide, and concentrated hard, showing its pearly white crystal-like teeth. However, instead of Charizard's scorching hot, Glaceon's attack was freezing cold.
Glaceon was using Charizard's counterpart Ice type move, Ice Fang.

Glaceon very cleverly waited for Charizard to come near it, instead of going towards it itself. When Charizard was sufficiently near, Glaceon dug its teeth into its wings, making Charizard howl in pain.

However, Charizard retaliated strongly. It dug its own flaming tooth into Glaceon's body, causing heavy damage to ice type cat Pokemon. This was a good strategy really. Charizard's special moves weren't working, so attacking head on with physical moves wasn't a bad idea, and the attack left Glaceon considerably tired and gasping for breath.

Charizard was surprised by Glaceon's strategy and as angry as he was he had a certain amount of liking towards the Glaceon for being such a good fighter.

Charizard wanted Glaceon in the journey with him. He looked at Badal who scratched his head in an awkward manner indicating something.

Charizard moved back a couple of steps, pulled his hand back, flashed his sharp grey nails and aimed to slash right into Glaceon's back.
Badal was happy that Charizard understood what he meant. "I'm using signs to show attacks to maintain the element of surprise for the Glaceon. That was Slash." Explained Badal.

 

BP​

Chaizard was now pretty happy with the state of the battle, though he was constantly annoyed by the hail, which chipped slowly but steadily at its health.

Badal commanded Charizard to make a move, though only by sign language - this maintained an element of surprise in the battle.

Charizard understood what Badal meant by his signs though, and quickly rushed to execute its move. Once it was quite near Glaceon, it stepped back a little, and transferred most of its weight on its back foot. It also raised its front paw very high in the air, and its claws gleamed silver as it raised them high in the air. It then brought them down very strongly trgeting Glaceon's back, digging its claws straight into the poor Pokemon, who shrieked in pain.

This was indeed a very risky move, had Slash resulted in a Critical Hit, Glaceon might well have been knocked out by now.

Bu fortunately, Glaceon still had a very small reserve of health and energy left. It quickly opened its mouth wide, and gathering all the cold from the surroundings quickly built up a small orb of revolving ice in front of its mouth. The otb quickly grew bigger, and finally stretched into a thin beam of cold ice heading straight towards Charizard, which hit it straight in its middle. Charizard, though having weakened Glaceon quite a bit and Glaceon not able to perform the Ice Beam to its fullest because of its low energy, didn't look too comfortable either.

"Ok This is it!" Badal said.
Charizard knew that this was enough and backed up and went very far away, far away from Glaceon's range.

Glaceon was tired already and Badal was sure he could get Glaceon.
He took out the Hyperball and pulled his arm back and threw the ball towards Glaceon.

Charizard and Badal both had their eyes on the Hyperball that was on its way to the Glaceon.

 

NBP​

Badal, who had now realised that Glaceon was pretty tired and weakened now, decided to throw a Hyperball to capture it.

The ball travelled quickly to reach the Glaceon, and engulfed Glaceon in the blink of an eye, and fell on the ground, shaking vigorously.

Badal, Charizard and I watched the shaking ball anxiously, wondering if Glaceon would have enough strength to break free from the ball.

The ball kept shaking for what seemed like hours, but after a while, the ball finally came to a halt, indicating a successful capture.

Badal and Charizard jumped in joy, and I too smiled.

"Congrats, Badal," I said.

"Yes!" exclaimed Badal. Charizard was happy too and he was jumping about in excitement.

Badal used the Heal Potion on Charizard and he drank it all.

Badal picked up the hyperball and came back and took Charizard in a pokeball.

NBP​

Badal picked up the Hyper Ball where it had landed on the ground and kept it in his pocket.

He got another Heal Potion from his bag, and gave it to Charizard, who gulped it down quickly. The drink was extremely useful as it healed Charizard within no time at all.

Badal then recalled his Charizard back into its ball, where it would be safe. He was all ready to go ahead now.

"So, where would you like to go next?" I asked.

Badal was already excited and said" Lets go further, wherever I can find rare pokemon!"

Charizard was safely in the pokeball and Badal all ready to go.

 

NBP​

Badal wasn't very clear in his opinion about where he wanted to go next, as was the case with most rookie trainers.

I simply shrugged my shoulders, and we kept walking forward. I occasionally kept dusting the snow off my jacket whenever it started accumulating.

After around five minutes of walking, we reached the entrance of a cave.

"Maybe we should look in here," I said, as I stepped towards the mouth of a cave.

As soon as I had a glimpse of the inside, I held up my arm to stop Badal from going in.

"There's a Spheal family inside," I whispered. "A Sealeo, possibly an elder sibling is feeding two small Spheal," I said. "So unless you want to actually catch these Pokemon, it'll be better if we just leave them alone. The Sealeo will battle first, I think, naturally," I finished.

NBP​

Badal didn't want to break up a family, and it was the right decision as well in my opinion. I smiled a bit as we moved forward, careful not to disturb the three Pokemon.

As we kept moving forwards, the blizzard grew even more fiercer, and the temperature dropping continuously.

As we continued moving through the thick ice, I noticed a small blue-and-white Pokemon sitting in the snow, in deep concentration.

"There's a Meditite over there," I said in a low voice to Badal. "Would you like to catch it?" I asked. "It'll evolve into a Medicham which is pretty good you know."

Badal left the Meditite meditating in peace, and we moved forward.

We hadn't walked much further, when we heard sharp noises coming from one side of the mountain.

We quickly rushed towards the source of the sounds, and saw a big fat bulky Fighting type practicing its skills by breaking boulders with its hands.

"There's a Hariyama," I said. "It looks pretty tough, do you want it?" I asked.
