“It's tempting, but a Cacturne doesn't interest me that much, sorry. Let's just keep going. Just use a Pokédoll if it doesn't allow us to go.”

She supposed if he wasn't going to use the Grass type, he probably shouldn't catch it. Though it was possible he could get a trade for it. It was his call, regardless, so she just nodded and tried to move on.

A shuffling behind them drew her attention back, and she saw the Cacturne had crept closer to them, nearing the door of the greenhouse that she was trying to get to. It hung ominously against the wall of the house, like some kind of creepy wall decoration. It reminded her of a scary movie she heard about. She didn't really like those, so she hadn't seen it. She was glad; if someone had, they'd probably be freaked out.

It wasn't letting them pass though, so Ivy waited for Daniel to open up his other Escape Package, withdrawing another Pokédoll for her to use. She tossed it in the cactus's general direction, and it landed with a swoosh in the sand. The Cacturne's eyes followed it, and then it went back into the sandbox to play with the distraction. Ivy led them into the greenhouse while it wasn't looking.

They were only a few feet into the building when a rolling white ball almost made her trip. She paused, and Haji nudged the form with his nose. It suddenly rolled upward, and Ivy caught sight of its egg shape decorated with blue and red triangles. It looked up at them with a cute look on its face.

    “To-ge!” it cried.

“Here's a Togepi,” she told Daniel. “What about this one?”

We walked on closer to the Green house to inspect it, but with every step we made so did the Cacturne, getting ever closer to us. The resemblance between him and the monster from the horror movie was chilling, I tried to not look at it but my duties as a trainer forced me to keep an eye on it in case of battle.

The mimicking continued until it got to the point the Cacturne was preventing us to go any further, it was at this point I realised I had to use my pokedolls. Reaching into my bag I pulled out the fresh box of escape items and pulled out a random one. I handed the small pink Clefairy shaped toy to Ivy and she promptly threw it into the sand patch just beyond the green house. The sharp eyes of the Cacturne followed it and intrigued it chased it into it's element leaving us free to pass.

We entered the building and the overpowering smell of flowers dominated my nose, but it was nice different from the rest of the gardens. We walked deeper into the building until Ivy stumbled over something. looking down onto the floor I could see the small coloured egg. Haji walked over to it and gave it nudge in order to investigate, and the egg reacted by jumping up onto it's small stubby feet.

“Here's a Togepi,” she turned to mel. “What about this one?”

I knew there was not a doubt in my mind that I would pass on this partly because it was easily obtainable but mostly because I already own a togekiss, however since I obtained it in a trade I never did own a togepi. I guess things would be different if I was a collector.

“Let's just keep going. Same routine, Pokédoll at the ready,” he said.

Ivy nodded, trying to get around the egg Pokémon. However, every time she stepped, much like the Furret, it rolled around in front of her, making cute noises. She didn't want to hurt it, since it was only a baby, but they needed to keep moving. There was still a little bit of his run left and more Pokémon to find.

She reached back as he handed her another item from the Escape Package; this time it was another Slowpoke Tail. She carefully crouched down and put the tail where the small egg could reach it, smiling as it took the object with a happy gurgle. Haji nosed it a little off to the side, and the Togepi happily rolled away with its new doll.

They continued on down the open row, passing tables filled with potted plants. Sun filtered in from the cloudy glass above, and the plants grew in coiled towards it. Some were viney, supported by those cheap criss-crossed fences you could buy, and others supported themselves and spilled outward like some of the larger trees. There were beautiful colors dotting the whole place, flowers ranging from tiger lilies and ferns to roses and daisies.

She knew that most of the Park's pretty foliage was grown here and then planted elsewhere, like the row of poppies in front of the Main Outpost. There were a few potted ones around the offices too. She could see the extra pots lined up on the far wall, and there were blank patches of dirt over there too, ready to grow new plants not on tables. Sometimes they started trees in here and then relocated them.

One thing about this place, though, was that it was too hot. She hated the humidity, and she made a face as she experimentally pulled at her shirt, seeing it sort of stick to her. She wound through the place with her Trainer in tow, but she didn't see any Pokémon hiding anywhere. They kept the sets of wide doors open for the wild ones to go in and out as they pleased, as long as they weren't destroying the plants. Most of them didn't, and a lot of them felt at home among the growing vegetation. It was a big place after all.

Then, Haji made a sound, and she looked down to see a trail of seeds dusting across the row and under the tables. Confused, she made it to the space between the aisles and jumped over one, trying to find the cause. A tan burlap sack greeted her, and she recognized the label as one for berries. They usually grew those outside.

The bag moved suddenly, and Ivy paused as a bushy green top appeared out of it. With a few more shakes, an Oddish was revealed. Its blue orb-like body was supported by two nubby legs, and its tree-like top made it seem like a walking onion. She wasn't sure what it was doing with the seeds. Maybe it was trying to plant them where it wanted them.

“Well, there's another one. You're getting down to the last batch. Want to battle the Oddish?”

OOC: my encounter list must be pretty bad

The actions of the Togepi was similar to that of the Furret in the way that every step Ivy took to move pass it the Togepi rolled into her path. Realising what I had to do I pulled out another Slowpoke tail that I placed onto Ivys hand that she extended back expectantly. She laid it down just in front of the small egg so as to allow it to grasp it on it's own, the small egg happily cried as she toyed about with it.

We walked through the rest of the Green house keeping an eye out for any pokemon, but we were unhindered in our travels. The room was lined with multiple tables that stretched for length to length, creating many aisles of floral adornments in the form of potted flowers. The room was quite beautiful in appearance since the many varieties of flowers varied in colours and quantity. I figured this must be the decorative command centre for the Gardens, every arrangements of flowers must come from here. Although the sight was nice the conditions in which to keep them weren't, the humidity that was needed to maintain the flowers was a pain, I could see Ivy wasn't enjoying it either.

Suddenly Ivy spotted something curious, she jumped over the nearest table and inspected a nearby burlap sack, I tuned my back to it thinking nothing of it scanning my eyes over the rest of the room, after hearing a small cry I returned my focus to the sack. A small blue bob sat on top of it, the bob wore small green shoots that shot out of it's head. An Oddish.

“Well, there's another one. You're getting down to the last batch. Want to battle the Oddish?” Ivy said pointing to the plant.

I leaned against a nearby table a let out a sigh attempting to fan my self with my hand and thought about the small plant, it was kinda similar to the situation with Cacturne in that I wouldn't see myself ever using it. In a way although I never got what I came for I was still happy with my run, and was in a way, happy that the run was ending.

"No thanks, I'm kinda glad my time in this place is coming to an end, I'm not a summer person" I laughed "let's just go, pokedoll if need be"

“No thanks,” he said. “I'm kinda glad my time in this place is coming to an end. I'm not a summer person.” He laughed. She agreed. Her turtlenecks and long vests were more suited to winter. “Let's just go. Pokédoll here if need be.”

She nodded, going to back up and go back down the row to the other door on the opposite wall from where they entered. She turned around, thinking the Oddish would just stay there, but then a sudden, rapid thud of seeds hitting her back made her stop. They just bounced off harmlessly, but it wasn't looking like it was going to let them leave without making a fuss.

Daniel handed her another escape aid, this time another fluffy tail. She threw it in the Pokémon's general direction and hoped it would work while ushering the rest of them forward. She looked back as they were almost clear of the row to see the Oddish dropping the tail into the sack and continuing to drag it with it under the tables. Ivy knew she should probably do something about that, but they didn't really have a lot of time right now. Instead, she made a note on her phone to tell someone about it. It wasn't her turn to be on greenhouse duty.

While holding the device, she gazed at the counter on her phone. There was only one more Pokémon left on the counter for Daniel's run. Since generally Trainers were streaming though the Park regularly, they had to impose a limit on both Pokémon encountered and how many they were allowed to take with them when they left. They didn't want to depopulate too much.

The exited the greenhouse, swinging left toward another path that would take them out of this section and into another patch of woods. It would circle back toward the Outpost so he could get going. Hopefully they would find something else he was interested in capturing, but if not, he looked pretty happy to just be taking the Whimsicott. It didn't matter to her as long as the Trainer was happy.

She was almost to the path that led them out when a bundle of vines fell into their path. The spaghetti-looking Pokémon looked up at them from the middle of their road, and Ivy recognized another Tangela. She asked Haji to see if it was the same one from earlier just for giggles. Sometimes the really determined ones would keep following groups through the Park.

The Espeon confirmed it wasn't the same one with a quick mental check. Then she turned to the Trainer. “Well, you passed up the first one, but this is your last encounter. Did you change your mind at all?” she asked, for the last time.

Ivy turned her back towards the Oddish thinking it would let us pass but as soon as atention was brought away from the small plant it fired off a stream of seeds into Ivy's back. I doubt they would of hurt her but it did tell us that the Oddish was going to be a problem, I pulled out the fluffy tail item from the escape package and handed it to Ivy which she promptly threw in the general direction of the Oddish. The Oddish hopped off the sack of seeds and pulled the tail underneath the nearest table.

as we neared the exit of the greenhouse Ivy pulled out her phone and started typing something in, I didn't bother to ask what but I assumed it was ranger stuff.

We left the some what unbearably humid green house and out into the hot outside. In front of us was another patch of woods that seemed to run round the perimeter of the maze and most likely to the gardens exit. We walked through the woods untouched, not surprisingly, this one seemed a lot more empty than the other one we passed through. We moved onto the path that led straight out towards the exit. A group of vines fell just before us from one of the trees up above, realising what it was I sighed, It was a bit disheartening finding out that an encounter was wasted on a pokemon I already turned down.

“Well, you passed up the first one, but this is your last encounter. Did you change your mind at all?” Ivy asked expectantly

Even though it was my last encounter It didn't change the fact I didn't want it, I wasn't one of the trainers that caught pokemon just for the novelty of either the first or last pokemon.

"No thanks, lets just leave, I'll be happy just taking Whimsicott" I replied with a yawn " I have my last pokedoll if the Tangela needs it"

Daniel didn't change his mind and said he'd be just fine taking the Whimsicott out with him. She nodded, and they made their way around the Tangela and out of the Gardens.

The run hadn't taken that long at all, and she was grateful for it. Some of them took all day, making her exhausted by the time she was done. Others seemed like they took months, like the Trainers were lost in time for a while. She actually felt pretty good today, like she could do a couple more runs and be just fine.

They made it back to the Outpost without a fuss. She was a little disappointed that nothing more interesting had shown up for Daniel, but he seemed alright. There were some rarer things, just nothing the Trainer was interested in. As long as he walked away fine, things were alright. She would be sure to mark down in the file how fast it went. He seemed to know what he was searching for, so that always made things a little easier. Some Rangers liked fast Trainers.

While at the last stop, she handed him the last of the paperwork to fill out before he could leave while she registered his Trainer ID into the Whimsicott's ball. Ivy was sure the Grass type would be a great addition to his team. It seemed a lot of Trainers were coming here looking for this specific Pokémon.

She waved to him as he departed on the back of his Salamence, and then she and Haji warped back to the Main Outpost so she could get some paperwork done. She was sure there were other runs to take too, so she knew she'd be busy. That was a good thing though. Staying busy meant she wasn't assigned things like greenhouse duty.

She waved to Madison and Rebecca on the way in and made it to her office without much hassle, shutting the door with a relieved sigh. It may be a lot of work, but her job was worth it.
