Neon was sitting in an arm chair by the fire, reading some of the quality work of Shakespeare when suddenly he was overcome with the premonition that someone in the park needed his help. He quickly discarded his robe and threw on his trainer gear and gathered his belongings. As he approached his door, he noticed that it was snowing extremely hard outside. This threw him off his game.

"I guess this means, I'll have to wear my winter gear!" declared Neon proudly.

Without a moments hesitation he scrambled up the stairs to his room. He stumbled into his closet, closing the door behind him just to make sure that his secret room remained hidden to any wandering eyes outside his bedroom window. As his door came to a close, he flipped the light on and shuffled through his rack of shirts, finding his way through to a secret door. He felt along the wall to find the key pad to enter the entry code.

Once Neon found the entry code, he quickly punched in the last four digits of his social security number and pressed the enter button. The door opened revealing a retinal scanner. Neon put his eyes up to it, and the scanners began their work. After confirmation, that door opened to reveal a voice analyzer. Neon stated the name of the street he was born on. With the correct phrase and a matched voice, the final door opened to reveal a safe. Neon quickly unlatched the safe and opened it. Inside was a box labeled "Only for Winter Use". Neon grabbed the box and flipped it over, dumping its contents out. Out fell a sole scarf that Neon quickly wrapped around his neck.

After closing everything up, Neon darted out with his scarf and all. He quickly found out how bad the weather was. Making it roughly five feet out the door, he slipped and fell into a pile of snow the size of a Wailord. He was proud to have learned swmimg on his many trips to Hoenn, because he managed to get himself out just as quickly as he got in.

Realizing that travelling on foot would be a hazard, he called out to his Honchkrow. It came flying out the window and lifted Neon off the ground. It quickly took off in the direction of the ranger docks. After making it roughly halfway there, Neon's Honchkrow collapsed onto the ground.

"Come on, I don't way that much! You're just lazy!"

"Krow. Honchkrow Krow."

"Fine, I guess you just aren't going to have to deal with no hot cider during your soap opera marathons!"

"KROW!"

Neon quickly returned Honchkrow to its pokeball. Neon then took the time to gauge his sorroundings. He realized that Honchkrow had dropped him off just about fifteen minutes away from the socks he was trying to reach. he also happened to be right next to a river tha flowed directly into the sea that the docks were meant for. Neon took the obvious choice and brought out his trusty Gastrodon and surfed on her back until he reached the docks. At which point he dismounted his Gastrodon and returned it to his pokeball.

Awaiting him on the docks was a ranger he had seen a few times before. This ranger was named Tyranitex, if he remembered correctly. Tyranitex was talking to a small person dressed in nothing but green. With a sense of urgency Tyranitex turned around and approached Neon.

"Hey, buddy. You ready to do some good in this world? Well have I got the job for you! You will be collecting Santa's belongings while he handles toy deliveries around the world."

"Whoa, really? Anything to help out the big man in the sky... Ermmm... The red jolly one."

"Cool, you already have a scarf, let's get a move on."

A Croagunk appeared in his path. While blocking his way, it opened its mouth wide and spat a huge orb of toxic matter in Neon's direction.

Neon and Tyranitex quickly moved across the docks to the entrance of the National Park. They went to the main teleporters, but for some reason they just wouldn't work.

"I guess the snow is interfering with the teleporters," reported Tyranitex.

"Wait... that can happen?" wondered Neon.

"Well you see, the snow refracts the light emission which is carrying your genetic makeup across... You know, let's not get into that."

"Good call."

"Let's just go it on foot."

"Fine by me, I have my scarf." Neon snuggles with his scarf.

"Yeah, um, let's just go."

"Right behind you."

Both Neon and Tyranitex ran over to the entry doors for this section of the park. Above the door was a plaque that read: "GREAT LAKES". Neon had heard of this particular section of the lake, but never actually seen it. The lakes it housed were rumored to be inhabited by the three Lake Spirits.

As they burst through the door, into the snow-coated forest that was the home to so many grass and water type pokemon, a large gale swept by carrying with it several wrapped packages that looked like presents. Neon was ready to sprint forward and try and grab one, but was taken off guard by the sudden appearance of a frenzied Croagunk.

Said Croagunk decided it would be a great idea to take out its anger on Neon. Neon had other plans. His trainer instincts quickly kicked in. He reached for one of the pokeballs on his belt and let loose his Metagross, just as the Croagunk readied its own attack.

Croagunk formed a ball of pure toxic, and launched it at Metagross. The ball hit Metagross directly and sprayed all around it, covering it with the toxins.

"Now Metagross, I know you like acting tough and all, but you didn't have to let that one hit you. Even if poison has no effect against you," scolded Neon. "Now from what I remember, Psychic is extremely effective against these particular Pokemon. So show me your best Zen Headbutt."

Metagross complied, happy to be using a move that it had memorized through its years as a Metang. Its head began to glow a bright blue and it then pushed off the ground, with all of its force, aiming the crown of its head directly at the enemy Croagunk.

OOC: Did anything drop from the Croagunk?

As Metagross' attack connected, a shadowy punch came out of thin air and knocked it aside stopping the full force of the attack. Just barely making it away conscious, the Croagunk retreated vowing to come back another day and fight for the honor of its family.

Just as Neon let his guard down, a screech was heard from the water. An enraged Feebas had decided that it didn't like the way Metagross fought and decided it wanted a try too. It leaped out of the water and created a ball of water to launch straight at Metagross.

"Metagross, use Agility and show Feebas your speed by delivering a fierce Thunderpunch."

Metagrossdidn't seem to like the idea of using the thunderpunch at the end, but it succumbed to Neon's decision realizing that it was the strongest attack it could use against the fish pokemon. Metagross then started picking up speed. Becoming so fast that it began to flicker back and forth. It quickly went disappeared and reappeared directly in front of Feebas. Yellow electricity then formed around Metagross' claw and it moved it in a swift motion directly towards Feebas. Feebas finally having a complete ball of water ready to launch at any moment.

Metagross delivered the electric punch, but because of hesitation at the last minute, it didn't hit completely on target. The ball of water then grazed Metagross as he quickly sped away from the battle. Metagross was still holding strong, but enough of these battles and he could be facing a real problem.

"Tanaros, I know you don't like Thunderpunch, but you really do have to focus when you do it."

Metagross nodded appreciatively, obviously giving itself a hard time for not following through with its attack. Metagross seemed to be going over every single aspect of its attack in its head. It kept thinking long and hard about how it failed, and what it could do to improve. Neon saw this in its actions.

"Hey, Tanaros. I know you did your best, don't beat yourself up too much. Let's give it one more shot. Use your most powerful Thunderpunch. This time make that fish wish it had never messed with us!"

Metagross listened intently and focused everything it had on doing this next Thunderpunch correctly. It focused its power on its claw and it quickly enveloped in electricity. The difference this time was that Metagross didn't just stop there. It kept focusing power to its claw until tiny bolts of lightning began to shoot out of its fist. It now knew it was ready. It pushed off the ground and leaped through the air towards the Feebas. As it did this, the Feebas charged and launched a beam of ice straight at Metagross.

The beam connected, rippling around Metagross' steel hull causing tiny shards of ice to form. Metagross felt it, Neon could tell. Even if Metagross felt any sort of pain from the blast, it pushed through it. Still completely concentrating on landing its punch on the fish Pokemon before it. It descended through the air, gaining momentum as it used gravity to propel itself even faster.

The punch swiftly crackled with power, letting off tiny emitions of electricity. Metagross focused even more as the hit was about to hit. No hesitation would be felt on this punch.

Metagross connected full on with the Thunderpunch it had been charging. The poor Feebas felt that one pretty hard. The electricity surged through its stomach, disabling it for a few seconds. When it finally regained control of its body, it decided that fighting was no longer a good idea. It turned around and swam off hoping to one day be beautiful enough that fighting wasn't necessary.

"Nice work Tanaros, glad to see all the hard work I put you through is helping out," regarded Neon.

Metagross puffed itself up triumphantly, ready to take on whoever was next. Even though it showed its overconfidence, it didn't actually expect a challenger to come forward. But, to Metagross' dismay, a Poliwrath came out ready to fight.

"COME ON! Another one? Really? We've made it to the first lake and there are already three battle starved Pokemon ready to fight for their lives."

Poliwrath didn't seemed moved by Neon's words. The look of blind fury never escaped its eyes. It just stared down Metagross, ready to fight.

"Alright Tanaros, this guy here is a fighting type. A pretty strong one too. So you are going to have to work hard to beat him. From memory though, he is weak to psychic moves. So try out the Psychic we have been practicing."

Metagross nodded in agreement. Poliwrath didn't like where this was going, so it immediately broke into a dash towards Metagross, while its hand began to glow white. Metagross' eyes started to glow blue and it focused on Poliwrath as a light blue hue began to form around it.

Poliwrath managed to land its punch, but just barely before it was sent flying by Metagross' Psychic. Poliwrath tried to turn itself over and land on its feet, but instead found that the psychic barrier didn't let up like every other Pokemon it had faced. Instead it locked Poliwrath in a vulnerable position and propelled him with increased speed and force straight into the ground.

"Great work, Tanaros! You executed it just as planned. He should be down for the count now."

Where most other pokemon would've given up, the foe Poliwrath pushed itself off the ground, ready to at least try another attack. It gained its composure and started to get really calm. And just as Metagross started to ready itself for another attack, Poliwrath's eyes slowly started to become blue.

"Watchout Tanaros! He is trying to pull the same move on you. Use Bullet Punch and get there before he can ready his attack!"

Metagross moved quickly. It began spinning wildly, moving faster and faster reaching Poliwrath in the blink of an eye. Then it stuck out its arms and prepared to release a quick succession of punches.

Poliwrath tried harder and harder to use its Psychci attack, but while Metagross was spinning its claws kept hitting Poliwrath repeatedly until it just couldn't take it anymore. Poliwrath lost its will to fight and turned around and high-tailed it out of there. Metagross let out a triumphant roar.

"Great job, Tanaros. You sure showed him exactly what you ate made of. Now it seems as though we have a slight reprieve, so take a well deserved rest."

Metagross walked over to Neon and layed itself down on a patch of grass, still ever vigilant. Neon walked over to where each of the opponent Pokemon had been and he picked up the presents they had dropped. A couple hats, some milk and cookies, and a snow crystal. Santa would certainly be happy to get these back.

"We should hurry, we have no idea what may have happened to poor old Santa."

Neon and Metagross didn't get to enjoy their rest for much longer. Soon enough they heard a rage filled roar. And sure enough, a new challenger approached. The being surfaced from beneath the water, sheltered by the waves that fell off of its enormous form. As the water collapsed off the side of its body, an angry Gyarados was revealed. Apparently the Feebas from earlier had a mature boyfriend. It howled in a blood thirsty rage, and began to get even angrier, ready to release it all in a tempest of dragon majesty.

Neon sighed, "I've seen enough of these in my days. Tanaros you know the drill."

Metagross instantly started charging another fistful of electricity, which seemed even more powerful than before. It crackled and bolts of energy whipped around the woods. Metagross prepared itself, it had fought many Gyarados in the past, and all of the encounters had ended the exact same way. Metagross and Gyarados both leapt at each other, both ready to strike the other one down in one blow. They collided in mid-air, creating a huge shock wave of power that sent ripple after ripple throughout the defenseless lake.

After felling the gargantuan sea beast, Neon finally had the option of moving on to the next location. He was too proud of Metagross to just stop there, though.

"Bring on the next challenger, Tanaros can take them!"

Then slowly from out of a nearby pond, a hesitant Psyduck approached. Neon couldn't tell if it wanted to battle or not, but it did have a fierce look in its eyes. Neon prepared himself to counter anything that the Psyduck decided was a good decision. And just as he had predicted, the Psyduck began to lunge out in a rage. It started swiping, hitting mostly the air, but it kept getting closer to Metagross.

"Alright Tanaros, I think I am going to change things up a little. Let's try a Hammer Arm."

Metagross' forearm began to glow white and it brought it crashing down on top of the tiny Psyduck that had now come within striking distance.
