"Brr.." I shivered in the cold morning breezes. I quickly zipped up my cream-colored cotton jacket, and recalled my Staraptor. Nia had done a really good job getting me close enough to the national Park's Front Gate. I flew on her 'till I figured the hail and snow would weaken her a lot.

I walked the rest of the way, rubbing my shoulders for some warmth. As I arrived at the gate, a blast of wind breezed by me, causing me to feel real cold again. I tightened a light brown scarf around my neck after whipping it out from my red backpack.

The reason I was here in the national Park on this winter day with the weather at, probably, at its worst, was that I had volunteered to do this mission--something about Santa Claus needing help..
I talked to a ranger at the Docks just to verify the information I had gathered. Turns out, I did need to go through three different places, or zones, fending off a number of Pokemon along the way.

The first zone was the Woods. After making a quick double check on all my items for this mission, I headed out to the Woods, still shivering from the cold weather. Whatever would become of this event, I was sure I'd have lots of fun and I would be stronger-and my Pokemon, too.

The Trainer was pretty enthusiast about the fact that she was going help out Santa with his little issues. Although everyone wasn't aware of what awaits in the outskirts until they've actually reached there for themselves. However, Natsu was pretty sure things won't go smooth and whatnot, thus he brought some Pokemon himself, and more than one. This was indeed a sign of trouble. But for now, he could only accompany the Trainer there, ensuring there would be no problems on the way...

Or perhaps he thought too soon as he encountered a Slakoth. Slakoth are brown, sloth-like mammalian Pokémon with shaggy coarse fur and brown stripes on its back. As the name suggests, Slakoth's most notable feature is the fact that it is extremely slow. But this one however, seemed pretty uptight and cautious.

"Get ready for a battle, young one..."

Natsu signaled the Trainer, as he stepped aside...

Just as my ranger, Natsu, and I entered the Woods, we encountered a Pokemon. The creature seemed pretty cautious and uptight as it moved quite slowly into a battle stance.

This Pokemon was brown and sloth-like with shaggy coarse fur and brown stripes on its back. It had a scruff of fur on the top of the head and a large, pig-like pink nose. The entity also had long arms with two sharp claws. I recognized it as a Slakoth. Its nature and mood at this point in time was quite the opposite of its regular sleepiness, laziness, and slowness.

"Get ready for a battle, young one..." Natsu said as he stepped aside.

I nodded and took a deep breath, hoping this battle would be overwith quickly. "Go Superman! Let's make this a fast one, okay?" I called out to my trusty Machamp, after throwing his Pokeball to the battlefield. He nodded and growled fiercely and boldly. "Okay, start off with a nice and strong Brick Break attack!"

Machamp concentrated a bit of his energy into the attack, causing all four of his hands to glow white. As he did this, he also leapt into the air, with his hands still opened wide, charging at the Slacker Pokemon and prepared to do a stronger version of an airborne Karate--or Cross--Chop.

As soon as he heard the word Superman, Natsu began to look up in the air and started to look for Clark Kent. But seeing how foolish he can get at times, he thought to himself, "Hey, Santa Claus is here!"

The Trainer sent out her Machamp, a good type advantage use for a Slakoth. Being a Normal type it is, Machamp could do some devastating damage. However, this Slakoth seemed pretty quick on its feet. As soon as it saw Machamp leap into the air, it quickly opened its mouth and started to release multiple pink bubbles. Machamp was already focused onto delivering a Brick Break, so there was no way it could actually protect itself from the incoming barrage of bubbles.

Natsu of course, was a quick thinker and decided to lend a hand, this time.

    "Go Gallade! Use Protect!"

Gallade, as soon as it touched the solid ground after breaking loose from its Pokeball, made a huge leap as such to come between the Machamp and the bubbles, Gallade put its blade-arms in front of its face and its body started to glow yellow-green. A green force-field then surrounded its body and the bubbles which came in contact soon burst one by one, allowing Yawn to fail.

Taking this opportunity, Machamp quickly dived towards Slakoth, to execute a powerful Brick Break. But Slakoth foresaw this, and tried to counter with a Scratch. A small explosion occured, with Machamp being thrown back a little, while the Sloth getting slammed into to a bark of an old tree. Slakoth stood up, with a fierce look in its eyes, and messed up its front hair, to show it was truly prepared for the battle!

Just as Superman had leapt into the air, the Sloth Pokemon had opened its nuzzle. A barrage of pink bubbles shot out, blasting towards Machamp at a speedy rate. I knew this stream of bubbles would make the targeted Pokemon drowsy. My Machamp was too focused on delivering the Brick Break attack, that he would not be able to avoid the bubbles completely.

Fortunately, Natsu was a quick thinker and a very kind person. He called forth his Gallade--a Pokemon that was tall, standing at five feet three inches, with a white lower body that had strong legs, and a green upper body that had sharp, red hornlike protrusions sticking out from its chest and back. The creature jumped into position in between my Machamp-after he landed-and the Slakoth. A light green energy surrounded the Gallade, making some sort of shield. One by one, the Yawn bubbles bumped into the green forcefield, thus popping and vanishing into thin air.

Machamp quickly dived towards the Slakoth to execute the attack. But, alas, it seemed the opponent had foreseen this. It attempted a Scratch attack, doing some minimal damage, and causing a collision and a small explosion. When the dusk and smoke cleared, I could see Superman pushed back a little, while the Slakoth had been thrown to the bark of an old tree.

"Thanks," I told Ranger Natsu, smiling at him gratefully before turning back to face the battlefield. The Slakoth had stood up now, with a fierce and furious look in its eyes, and its front hair messed up to show that it was truly ready for the battle.

I gulped uneasily. The foe was truly psyched up now. It was angry! I realized I had to end the battle quickly, before things could get bad-devastating, even. I thought real hard for a nice, strong, strategic attack. Another Brick Break probably wouldn't be enough, so I had to try a stronger attack--one with more power. Something like Dynamic Punch could do, but it needed slightly more power. All of Superman's moves quickly flashed through my mind... And then, bam, I suddenly had an idea!

I quickly commanded my Pokemon to do a Combo Attack, before the Sloth could attack. "Now, Superman, I want you to charge in to that Slakoth--real strong and real fast. Head for it as if you were about to do a Vital Throw. And then, right when you would usually pick up the enemy to throw them, you shall so Dynamic Punch. Got it? Oh, and feel free to use the ground for more power, more strength, more speed or more friction if needed."

Machamp roared boldly and strongly, agreeing to the plan. I wasn't sure if he understood me correctly, or if he would follow through with the plan completely. Sometimes, he was just too strong, too bold, too proud, too brave, that he would not exactly listen to orders. Hopefully, in this case, he would obey--seeing as fending off the Pokemon was important for my mission.

And if Superman would do it according to plan, it should happen like this:
First, he would run speedily and strongly, like he was about to throw off the opponent. Then, when he gets nearer, Machamp would focus his energy into his fists--making them glow with a bluish-white aura. And, for the finale, when he's close enough, he would use his favorite move. Superman would punch the Slakoth with his full, concentrated power--Dynamic Punch!

I could only watch, and wait, and hope for the best...

Ranger's Comments : Excellent RPing! Keep up with that standard, and you'll be fending off quite a lot of Pokemon in the most minimal time possible =)

I could not believe it! Superman had followed through with the plan perfectly.

As he had charged towards the Sloth, he kept on gaing speed, leaving the Pokemon practically no time to defend itself with an attack. Machamp started directing his energy into his hand later than I had expected, I do suppose he meant to show off or impress me. But, nevertheless, his fist was glowing brightly and fully, and was ready in time.

He executed the move with such strength and power, than the punch had sent the poor foe soaring backwards, and landing in a bushy shrub--some meters away. The last thing that I saw of the little Slakoth was it crawling slowly and defiantly out of the bush, and into the thick undergrowth. His mood seemed to be back to normal, and his temper and fury was lessned, if not removed.

"Alright, great job, Superman!" I praised as he jogged back towards me. "Now, I would like you to stay out of your Pokeball for a while longer. There are more normal and bug typed Pokemon out there, and you'd be good against them." He growled boastfully in approval, and then started walking ahed of me and Ranger Natsu.

"Hey! Don't be so proud! And you need to keep your strangth up for the Mountain, so I can recall you any time," I scolded after him. I sighed, this was going to be harder than what I had expected. But, then again, thngs don't always go your way, do they? Certain natures of Pokemon were hard to cope with at times, though, they can be useful when in battle. And that was the case with Superman. I just hope he'll be useful in Mt. Deckbi.

After a few minutes of treakking through the woods, we encountered yet another normal-type Pokemon. The creature appeared as a round pink ball that had two small cat-like ears and very large eyes. It had small arms and legs, and there was a curl on its forehead. I was relieved that, this time, the Jigglypuff's mood seemed neutral.

And then, all of a sudden, it started to sing! Even though I generally liked music, this one was...well, kind of bad. Before I knew it, my hands had shot up to cover my "terrified" ears. Machamp was in the same state, and worse as he started walking around dazedly. I wondered if he was confused, or he hated the singing so much that he turned slightly drowsy.

I began to think again, my ears still covered, trying to come up with an attack or strtegy that would fend off the singing Pokemon but not hurting it too much--afterall, it's just probably doing it's hobby. I thought of doing a Low Kick attack in such a way that it could make the Ballon Pokemon go.

But, alas, Superman had bumped into a nearby Oak tree, and then stumbled over some roots and herbs. he landed right in front of the opponent. It seemed as though he could not take anymore, he now looked angry. And, as he lay there on the ground, his hand began to glow brightly again, this time it was glowing white.

In my opinion, it was lucky for the little pink creature to have figured out that it would be attacked. Because, Mahcamp had begun to repeatedly striking at the Pluff in a chopping motion.
"No! Super---" I had cried in attempt to hinder him. It was no use, obviously, Machamp's mind was set.

OOC: I hope you don't mind that the mon sung, and whatever happened next. Also, you decide whether the Karate Chops hit or not/how many hit. Oh, and, school has started for me as well, so I probably won't be online as often (every two days, I guess). I will also try to keep up that standard of RPing.

The chops of Machamp did hit the Jigglypuff, causing it to get angry and very much annoyed.
The pink creature's short hands began to glow in many different shades like a rainbow. An orb soon formed, and the Balloon Pokemon punched continuously at Superman, one hand after the other as he lay on the ground kind of helplessly.

Serves him right for jumping into action... But, that's his nature and I couldn't possibly change that, could I? I soon pitied him, as I undoubtedly needed his strength and attacks later on. I realized he was getting drowsy, if not confused.

"Oh dear! Superman, snap out of that drowsiness! Do NOT get confused!" I shouted, as I saw him slowly trying to stand up but collapse dizzily back to onto the tree bark again.

And after shaking his head multiple times, he seemed to have snapped out. His hands began to glow brightly again, as if he was going to use the same move. But, I figured he was. No, I could not let that happen! I quickly sprang into action, jumping onto Superman before he could do anything. I whispered an attack into his ear, as well as scolding him.

Defiantly, he nodded, so I got off him. His upper thigh all the way down to the sole of his foot began glowing white with energy. He hadn't need to focus so much on this attack because I ordered a pretty simple move. It was a Low Kick. He should just hit the opponent quickly with his legs... And I hoped that would do.

Superman did as he was told. His legs glowed brightly white as he began to stnad and walk towards the still singing, but annoyed, Jumpluff. When he had focused enough energy into his feet, he began to kick. And he kicked continuously. The Balloon Pokemon seemed to have gotten really angry and jumped away sneering.

"Good job, Superman! Take a long rest, now," I praised, recalling Machamp to his ball. I shot his ball into my pocket once more and we continued walking in the forest.

I felt the air around us getting colder, but luckily the trees' leaves seemed to be catching most of the snow falling. They looked taller now, and growing ore abundantly.

Pretty soon, my ranger and I encountered another Pokemon. It was a reptilian-like Pokémon which resembled a snake. It had a rattle at the tip of its tail, and was mostly colored purple while its underbelly, eyes, rattle, and the "bands" on it are yellow. I recognized the Snake Pokemon as an Ekans, remembering it was a Poison type.

"Kipper, let's make this battle a quick one!" I called out my trusty Swampert, who appeared quite well rested for the time being. The snake slithered and hissed as if intimidating us. But that was no problem for my Pokemon, he was brave--that's for sure.

I knew that Ground-typed attacks would do very well against poison types, so I decided to use one of them. I did not want to use Earthquake as it would probably cause a bit of trouble, and it could hurt the wildlife and even me and my ranger.

"Kipper, use your Mud Bomb! Follow up with a Mud-shot if needed, and you should make it bounce of the trees so it would come off in almost each of the directions!"

My Swampert growled courageously as he began to focus his energy into his mouth. He opened his mouth widely, and a barrage of bomb-like balls shot out. They were brown in color and looked really dirty as well as muddy. The multiple globs of mud shot continuously at the Ekans, causing it to slither slowly away as it was very muddy and hurt, too.

Kipper did not have to use the Mud Shot attack, and that was good because he needed to store up his energy for the upcoming battles. I was pretty surprised yet grateful that one attack had done it.

And I still could not believe that I was only in the first part of this long quest... Nevertheless, I will not stop, I will not quit, no, not by any means, because I promised that I would help Father Christmas. And I do not break promises, I just hoped my Pokemon would have enough strength to follow through with this.

Just as I was about to congratulate Kipper, I felt a presence nearing us. We soon spotted a green colored creature. It was fairy-like with clear wings on its back. It had round toe-less feet, and three-fingered hands. The entity also had a round head that comes to a point and sticks upward in the back. It had large baby-blue eyes as well, with thick black rings around them, and a pair of green antennae that were tipped blue. A smile dawned on my face...

I gasped in amazement... I, we, had met a legendary Pokemon. They were very mythical creatures, as I have heard, with they're wonderful powers and stats. This one was really cute and sweet-looking. This was rare, really rare. The smile grew bigger, and I was more joyous...
But, then I remembered I would have to fight this gentle Pokemon. I didn't feel so happy anymore, and I was pitying the poor thing. So, I decided I would end this quickly--it would, I think, hurt me less to be done with it than to let Celebi suffer much longer.

"Nia, come on out for Kipper..." I mumbled throwing out my Staraptor's Pokeball to the grassy ground, and returning my Swampert to his ball. "Aerial Ace! Make it real quick, quite strong, and with great, or perfect, accuracy."

Staraptor began to gather energy into her wings, and she flapped them quickly and powerfully. She prepared to zoom swiftly at the Celebi... I could not watch any longer.

"STAR!" my Pokemon shouted impatiently, frustratedly, with a hint of slight calmness--her nature getting the best of her. I forced myself to open my eyes and take a peek...

The Aerial Ace attack had not been enough, I was both glad and disappointed. Happy because Nia had not hurt Celebi too much; Sad because I would have to attack the legendary again. And it looked as if my Staraptor had taken a hit as well, one of her wings seemed slightly injured, but nothing too serious.

"Nia, sorry about that. Anyway, use Agility to boost your speed, then follow up with Wing Attack!" I commanded, deciding she could use some speed. She growled in approval, as if to say, "That's the way to do it!".

Nia's body began to glow slightly, and she swiftly flew towards the Celebi in an amazing amount of time... She seemed to be dodging and moving around, exercising her muscles as she went about to increase her speed.

If all went well, she would be able to land the Wing Attack without any problem. The speed boost should allow her to dodge an attack or two from the oponent, thus letting her wings glow white in time for delivering the move.

(OOC: Shouldn't we warp into the next zone?)
    IC:
Nia's body began to glow slightly, and she swiftly flew towards the Celebi in an amazing amount of time... She seemed to be dodging and moving around, exercising her muscles as she went about to increase her speed.

As the Celebi tried to attack. she dodged it in the nick of time, and reappeared behind the legendary. Her wings glowed white brightly, and she charged at the opponent who had little idea of the incoming attack. It seemed hurt with the directly-hit attack, I cringed and my heart sank...

Fortunately, I did not have to battle the Pokemon any longer as it fled into the midst of the forest--in pain, I presume.

A short while later, we encountered yet another pink Pokemon... It wasn't a Jigglypuff, no, but they did have similarities. This one was smaller... It was a bipedal balloon-like animal that was pink all over. It had a rounded tuft of hair on top of its head, a small swirl-like pattern on its forehead, and red eyes in contrast to the teal eyes of Jigglypuff. The entity also had small, stubby limbs. I recognized the creature as the pre-evolved form of Jigglypuff, Igglybuff. Confusing names, in my opinion.

I knew that if I could fend off its evolved form, I could defeat this one, as well. What I needed now was a really strong attack from my beloved Staraptor. That kind of attack, however, was a move my Pokemon did not really favor. With her nature, she did not like overly powerful moves... I just hoped this time, Nia would do promptly as told.

"Nia, Brave Bird, quickly! We need to get a move on... If it is not enough, follow up with Take Down!" I commanded. My Pokemon pulled in her wings, shot into the air, then swooped back down toward the opponent like a missile. Her body seemed to be bursting into flames with the power and energy in the attack. She pulled out her wings as a blue aura surrounded her. She came closer and closer to slamming the foe.

Nia pulled in her wings and tucked them under her body, focusing a ton of her energy fully into her wings. She shot into the air in a flash, speedily, swiftly because of her Agility boost. With one final ascend, she swooped suddenly back toward the Igglybuff with her body bursting into blue-colored flames. Her wings blasted out from their tucked position as much more blue aura surrounded my Pokemon. The little Igglybuff took a good deal of damage as Nia rammed into the Balloon Pokemon, and she took some recoil as well.

I was getting quite tired of battling all these, and I knew Nia was, too. But, I had to push through, I had to finish this... I promised, did I not? I couldn't brake my vow, could I? I took a deep breath and began to walk again--with my ranger, of course.

Just as we had began strolling onwards, yet another creature sprang out at us from the midst of the forest. It looked a lot like the Slakoth we encountered a while back, so I was pretty sure we bumped into its evolved form.

This creature was a large, bulky, ape-like Pokémon. Most of its fur was brown in coloration, along with the ring patterning encircling its eyes. Its face, chest, hands and feet have a lighter color, and its brows were thick and jutting. The entity had a white collar of fur around its neck, extending towards the top of its head in a small tuft. The Lazy Pokemon also had a large, pink, pig like nose.

I remembered my earlier incident with the Slakoth, and I did not really like it. I realized this was Slakoth's final evolved form, which meant I needed Superman to help me out--to finish this quickly enough. I switched in my Machamp for my Staraptor.

"Okay, Superman, you are strong and bold, we both know that.. So let's put your qualities to good use. Do you remember that Slakoth we battled earlier, yeah, the monkey-looking creature?" My Pokemon nodded and roared quite outrageously. "Yeah, okay, well, now, we are fighting its evolved form... Now, like before, propel yourself speedily and strongly towards the opponent--as if you were to do a Vital Throw. Then, instead of Dynamic Punch, use Cross Chop! Attack him multiple times, okay? And if it tries anything bad--like Yawn--get out of the way immediately! Hide behind a nice, sturdy tree if you can..."

If Superman would do as told, he would do this; First, as before, he would charde at the ape-like creature with much speed and power as if he would attempt a Vital Throw. Then, when he would usually throw off the Pokemon, or when he would hit with a Dynamic Punch, his arms and hands would glow white for some powerful chopping.
