    Commencing...

    "Hey, Jerome, you want to take this trainer on a run?" Leo asked me. I looked down at my schedule and saw that it was surprisingly clear for the day. I usually had something going on even if it was something small. I liked to keep myself busy so I usually went around the park cleaning it up and tending to any injured Pokemon that needed help. However, today nothing was written down, so I shrugged.

    "Yeah, sure man. Why not." I said as I grabbed the folder from his hand. "Don't have anything else to do today." I quickly opened the file.

    "You know, we need more motivated rangers such as yourself here instead of ones like Ataro." He said jokingly. "Make sure you're careful there to not lose your trainer. The fog is supposed to be really bad there today and you'll probably barely be able to see a few feet in front of you."

    "Noted." I said, continuing to read the file as Leo left. "Hmm, Dylan Roberts. Meteor Valley does have some interesting Pokemon there. Hopefully he'll find something interesting, though, with that fog, we'd be lucky to see anything." Leo popped his head back in.

    "Did you say something?" He asked,

    "No, was just reading the file out loud." I said, not taking my eyes off of the folder. I looked up and saw that he was already gone. "Okay then, who shall I take? Blades, you up for this?"

    Then, out of what appeared to be no where, a green dinosaur like Pokemon appeared. "Grovyle." It said, nodding.

    "Good, it's not fun without you." I said, grabbing two more Pokeballs from my shelf. One belonged to Flamefeather, my Volcarona, and the other to Terrorsaur, my Aerodactyl. "Let's get going then, should be an interesting run. I hope our Trainer brought something to deal with the fog, most usually don't." I walked out of my office and tossed Terrorsaur's Pokeball in front of me. A ferocious, prehistoric Pokémon emerged from the sphere. He opened his jaw and let out a roar. His serrated, saw-like fangs were sharp enough to cut through basically anything. Just the other day some poachers were using some hard sturdy wire to bind the Deerling, Terrorsaur tore through that wire like nothing.

    "Alright buddy, can you give me a lift to Meteor Valley? We're have a Trainer who we're taking on a run, you're welcome to join us." Terrosaur grunted and gave a slight nod. He stretched his purple wings and lowered his body and I climbed on. He was an incredibly big Pokemon. He was about seven feet tall with an eight foot wingspan. His large arrow shaped tail slammed against the ground as he lifted off. Blades was going to run there, he was a pretty fast Pokemon and knew many shortcuts there.

    Once we arrived at Meteor Valley, I hopped off Terrorsaurs back and looked around to see if our trainer had arrived. He hadn't. Terrorsaur flew up into the tree above me. I felt a swift breeze come from behind me and when I turned around, Blades was there leaning against the tree. All we had to do now was wait for our trainer to arrive. Then the fun could begin. Terrorsaur flew into the sky, shaking the tree he had rested on and startling some small Pokemon that were hiding there. I quickly apologized and let out a small chuckle. Terrorsaur was scouting above to see if he could see our trainer. He had amazing eyesight, but I wasn't sure even he could see though this fog. Leo was right, it was really thick.

    "Come ON can't this thing go any faster?!" I shouted, "At this rate we won't get there until I'm as old as you, Grampa!"

    I rested my head on my chin with an impatient grimace stretched out across my face. In the other hand, I held a half eaten cheeseburger. Grampa's boat had always been reliable, but speed was something he rarely seemed to care about.

    "Dylan," he replied calmly, "We would be there by now if you hadn't stopped at that fast food restaurant on the way to the docks. Besides, " he pushed the auto-pilot button and stepped out onto the deck, looking around, "there's some pretty thick fog rolling in. Go too fast in this and we could run into some serious trouble."

    "Yeah, okay, I guess you're right..." I pretended to calm down as I wrapped the burger up and put it in my bag. He was right though, the fog was getting pretty thick. Suddenly, a Pokemon's cry sounded from the Control Room.

    "Shiftry! Shiftry-Shift!"

    It was Grampa's Shiftry and it didn't sound too happy... something was wrong. Great, I thought, probably just another obstacle to slow us down.
    Grandpa retreated to the Control Room. Then the boat stopped. Dammit.

    "Sorry, Dylan," he said, "But the radar is detecting some rocks up ahead. I can't navigate through them in this fog. I'm sorry but we're turning around."
    Are you kidding me?! I thought, Okay that's it, time to do things my way.

    "Uhhh, okay, Grampa!" I shouted, "You turn us around, then. I'll uhh be in my room!"

    Yeah right as if I would spend two minutes in that Janitor's Closet that's supposed to be where I sleep. I reached into my bag and pulled out a Pokeball.

    "All right, Ludicolo," I whispered, "Come on out!"

    I threw the ball into the sky overhead. In a flash it opened and the light materialized into my furry, aquatic friend, Ludicolo.

    "Ludi! Ludicolo!" It blurted. It was clearly happy it had been chosen to come along.

    "SSsshhh!" I whispered, "Not so loud! Now come on, let's get outta here! Surf! And Flash while you're at it too, bud!"

    Ludicolo nodded happily and obliged to my commands. It layed down and, as I got its back, it formed a small wave that began moving towards a distant shoreline. Then, the fruit on its head began to emit a light that let us see a few feet ahead of us so we could dodge the rocks. There. No more slow boat, no more slow Grampa, no more Janitor's Closet. Soon, we reached the docks at the island.

    "All right, bud, thanks for all the help! Take a good rest!"

    "Ludi!" the Pokemon replied as it dematerialized into a flash of red light and was sucked back into its ball.

    What happened next almost gave me a heart attack.

    "Aeerrroo!" a giant flying dinosaur thing roared as it swooped down and landed next me.

    Uhh actually, I wasn't that scared. Nope not at all. I wasn't crying either. There was just salt-water in my eye. ...They weren't tears...they were from the sea. Anyway, I pulled out my Pokedex and looked it up:

    "Aerodactyl," the mechanical voice identified, "The Fossil Pokemon. An extinct Flying Pokemon, its hard fangs suggest that it was a carnivore. Its sharp claws were probably used to capture prey."

    Still wasn't scared. I mean if it wanted to eat me it would have by now...right? But all the giant Pokemon did was take off in direction of a far off tree. I followed it. It wasn't every day you saw a Pokemon that was supposed to be extinct. As I neared the tree, I began to be able to make out two silhouettes. One clearly belonged to a Pokemon, the other was...a person! It would have creeped me out seeing someone else in a place as random and desolate as this, but one look at the guy's uniform and I knew exactly who he was.

    "Sup?" I asked casually as I approached the guy with an outstretched hand, "My name's Dylan. Dylan Roberts. You must be my Ranger! Nice to meet ya!"

    And so my first journey onto the fog-shrouded island began...

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Sorry if that was a bit long :S I tried to make an interesting backstory...but it might have been too much. Lemme know what you think! @Dinobot;
    OOC: The island isn't foggy, just Meteor Valley :]. It's all good though.
    Ranger: Jerome
    Trainer: Dylan Roberts
    Location: Meteor Valley
    -
    Commencing...
    I had been sitting there for a while now. I had a habit of arriving early for my runs, but I was surprised I was this early for this one, given that I was just assigned this run not too long ago. I didn't mind though, there was a nearby Drowzee who had been injured by some sort of trap. It looked like a snap trap with many razor sharp edges. Drowzee was caught in between it. I quickly ran over to it, but the Drowzee launched a Shadow Ball at me. I barely dodged it in time. I couldn't be mad at the little guy, he was injured and scared. Poachers had definitely been here, they had to be nearby.
    "It's okay little guy, I'm a ranger, I'm here to help you get out of this." I said, as I slowly made my way towards him. Drowzee looked at me for a bit and then slowly nodded. I still moved slowly towards him and knelt down by his side. Blades was right behind me, moving at my speed. Drowzee noticed him, but didn't appear scared now. Blades places his claws on the trap and began pulling them apart. Once Drowzee had enough room to free his hand, he did.
    "Let me see it little guy." I said reaching for his arm, Drowzee did as instructed. I reached into my bag and pulled out a disinfectant as well as a bandage. "This might sting a little, but we need to get it cleaned up."
    "Drowzee." He said, sounding a little hesitant, but agreed. I sprayed the disinfectant on his arm and he cried out a bit, but then calmed down. I then wrapped up his arm and he was ready to go. Drowzee thanked us plenty before skipping off.
    "We'll have to get those poachers, they must still be here." I said to Blades, he agreed with me. "Where is Terrorsaur?" As I asked, I heard someone call out to us.
    "Sup?" The voice came from a young kid, probably late teens, his hand was out waiting for me to shake it. "My name's Dylan. Dylan Roberts. You must be my Ranger! Nice to meet ya!"
    "Oh, hi! Nice to meet you Dylan, I'm Jerome, your ranger for today." I said to him. "You already met Terrorsaur I see. This here is Blades." I said referring to Grovyle. Blades cupped his claws together and gave a small bow as a greeting.
    "I hope you brought something to help you see through this fog, or the HM Defog. It is really hard to see in there." Without waiting for a response, I began leading him into Meteor Valley, thus beginning our adventure together.
    About five minutes later, we came across a shadow, which I thought was odd since there wasn't any light here and at how thick the fog was. However, as it got closer, I then finally recognized it as a Sableye.
    "Sableye at two o' clock. You want to battle it?" I asked him.
    I shook the Ranger's hand. "Oh, hi! Nice to meet you Dylan, I'm Jerome, your ranger for today." He said. "You already met Terrorsaur I see. This here is Blades." He gestured to a nearby Grovyle. I recognized the green Pokemon as one my Dad had raised and had pictures of. At least this one wasn't supposed to be extinct. The Pokemon bowed to me as a formal greeting. Jerome wiped some blood off his hands as he spoke. I noticed an open trap nearby and figured he had just helped some Pokemon escape from it. Good. I can't stand poachers. If I see one, I swear I'll...well...maybe that's not my job. But that doesn't mean I won't do anything I can to stop them! Anyone who would set up a snap-trap just to catch rare Pokemon disgusts me.
    "I hope you brought something to help you see through this fog, or the HM Defog." He said, "It is really hard to see in there."
    I was about to say I had the HM Flash equipped to some of my Pokemon, but he would find out soon enough. We began to walk deeper into the valley. The fog thickened more and more as we descended, and I wondered if we'd even be able to see any wild Pokemon if they came about. However, just minutes after I had that thought, my Ranger spotted something.
    "Sableye at two o' clock. You want to battle it?" He asked casually.
    Sableye was one of my favorite Pokemon and I wasn't about to pass up a chance like this.
    "Absolutely!" I replied enthusiastically, "But, uhh, where is it?"
    All of a sudden, a shadow appeared out of nowhere and raised its claws.
    "Sableeeeyyyeeeee!!" It yelled.
    "WAAAAAH!" I screamed. I was so startled I fell back on my butt much to the amusement of the little creature.
    "Sab-sab-sab!" It cackled, clearly proud of its sneaky accomplishment.
    "Ha-ha, very funny." I said gathering my self and standing back up. "Let's see what the dex has to say about you..."
    I pulled out the device from my pocket and scanned the still snickering Pokemon before me. I could tell that even Jerome found it a little amusing. I was embarrassed, but that just made me want to battle it more.
    "Sableye," the Pokedex began in its mechanical voice, "the Darkness Pokemon. Sableye digs the ground with sharpened claws to find rocks that it eats. Substances in the eaten rocks crystallize and rise up to the Pokémon's body surface."
    "Humph. It didn't mention anything about how obnoxious you guys are." I snorted, "But, fine, if you can scare me, then you'll be perfect for my team, and I have just the Pokemon who can help me add you to it." I reached onto my belt and pulled off a Pokeball. The one with my favorite Pokemon in it. I half-smiled and tossed the ball into the air. "All right, Gallade, time to make your entrance!" With a flash of light, my trusted partner burst onto the scene.
    "Gallade." It said, opening its eyes.
    Gallade was the Brave type, but it was always calm and cautious as well. It never showed fear. Not even ghosts could scare it, and that's why it was chosen.
    "OK, Gallade, we've got a tough battle ahead of us!" I began, "You may have a type disadvantage, but you've also got way more experience and plenty of moves. Sableye's the Darkness Pokemon, right? So then maybe we could throw it off a little by giving it a little light! Use Flash to startle it! Then follow up with a Hypnosis before it can recover!"
    Flash would also be good for lighting up the surroundings, allowing Gallade to see what it was doing and where it was aiming. Gallade's arm blades extended as it prepared itself for a battle. It was ready to follow my commands no matter what, and it never turned down a good fight. I had full faith in it, and I knew it wasn't about to fail because of some type-disadvantage. The first command was made. Now all I had to do was sit back and wait to see how it all played out...
    "Absolutely!" He replied enthusiastically, "But, uhh, where is it?" I was about to point out to him where the Sableye was, but I saw the Pokemon creeping over and figured he find out soon enough. Sure enough, a few seconds later, Sableye jumped out and startled him, knocking him over on his buttocks.
    Sableye laughed a bit, and I couldn't help but to let out a chuckle myself.
    "Ha-ha, very funny." He said as he stood back up. "Let's see what the dex has to say about you..."
    "Sableye," the Pokedex began in its mechanical voice, "the Darkness Pokemon. Sableye digs the ground with sharpened claws to find rocks that it eats. Substances in the eaten rocks crystallize and rise up to the Pokémon's body surface." It was somewhat interesting information, nothing really that would help the battle, but anything helped I suppose. He sent out his Gallade and the battle began.
    "OK, Gallade, we've got a tough battle ahead of us!" He started to say, "You may have a type disadvantage, but you've also got way more experience and plenty of moves. Sableye's the Darkness Pokemon, right? So then maybe we could throw it off a little by giving it a little light! Use Flash to startle it! Then follow up with a Hypnosis before it can recover!"
    His little tactic made sense. Sableye didn't really like bright areas so this would give him time to make a move. Sableye wasn't going to wait for this to happen though. It quickly formed a ghostly ball of purple energy between its claws. With a swift flick of its wrists, it launched the orb at Gallade. It was a direct impact, but Gallade seemed to take the move like a champ, it was definitely damaged, but it kept going. Gallade, without warning used Flash and the whole area was incredibly bright. Sableye stumbled back nearly losing his balance. Before he could recover though, he used his next attack and Sableye was fast asleep. However, I wasn't totally sure that it was entirely immobile. I was sure it still had many tricks up its sleeves.
    OOC: No worries! It's all good; I understand you're busy as am I. btw, I was wondering if I'm allowed to use any EMs that I added to Gallade since starting the run. @Dinobot;
    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    A Shadow Ball whizzed through the air and hit Gallade dead on. But I knew my partner well, and I wasn't surprised when it didn't seem phased in the slightest and continued with its move. I also knew from studying its Pokedex entry that Gallade had a pretty sweet Special Defense stat. Gallade had no reason to be anything other than cool, calm, and collected; as usual.
    Hmmm... I thought, considering my next move. Sableye's asleep. Now's my chance to do some damage!
    I knew Sableye wouldn't stay down for long, so I decided to make my next move count. Ghost Pokemon are always mischievous and for all I knew, the gem-studded creature could be plotting its next attack in its sleep! Well I wasn't gonna wait for that to happen. Time for another combo move. One to show off the reason everyone calls my Gallade "Swift".
    "Alright, Gallade!" I said, preparing my next command. "It's about time we went on the offensive. Use Swords Dance, then hit it with a Night Slash!"
    Gallade's grace and agility would play a huge part in this next move, but I had full confidence in my friend. I sent Night Slash on purpose, too. I wanted to give Sableye a taste of its own medicine. That way, it would know we meant business. At least for now. Once Sableye was mine, though, I could see myself using it for a few hilarious pranks. But, I was getting ahead of myself. There's no guarantee I'll catch it, but until then, Gallade and I are gonna do our best!
    Sableye, although fast asleep, was bound to still be able to use some moves. There was this move known as sleep talk that was really tricky to use. However, being the type of Pokemon Sableye is, that move was right up its alley. I was almost certain that was what Sableye was going to use. Sure enough, I begen hearing some babbling noises coming from the Darkness Pokemon. I knew exactly what it was going to do. Suddenly, Sableye lunged forward, claws extended and glowing bright purple and slashed away at Gallade. This move was known as Shadow Claw, a move quite well associated with Sableye.
    Sableye jumped back and began taunting at Gallade, which I thought was pretty funny. A sleeping Pokemon taunting its opponent. Gallade, unfortunately, fell for the Taunt and attacked back with his Night Slash. It wasn't as powerful as it would have been had he used Swords Dance, but it still dealt a decent amount of damage. Sableye was the type of Pokemon that didn't really have a weakness like others. It was Ghost and Dark type so they covered all the weaknesses that the other would normally be super effective to. Spiritomb was the only other Pokemon to share this typing.
    It was still a neck at neck battle. Sableye wasn't out yet just because it was asleep. Thanks to Prankster, it was able to move faster, at least that was what I assumed. I figured my trainer knew this already since he seemed quite fascinated by this Pokemon so I didn't say anything. What I was wondering though was what he would do next. He would have to be careful with that Taunt and Prankster combo Sableye had going on.
    OOC: your last 'OOC' post was the same as the one from two posts ago... I wasn't sure if there was something you wanted to say or not. :p uh-oh...I didnt know Wild Pokemon knew all their EMs and had their Hidden Abilities unlocked... :X @Dinobot;
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    I was all ready for Gallade to bring the hurt, but it looked like Sableye had other plans... It began babbling in its sleep which struck me as odd until I realized what it was doing.
    Uh-oh, I thought, looks like its using Sleep Talk! Geez, this thing is crafty! There's no telling what move that could come out to be!
    Sure enough, Sableye struck Gallade with a Shadow Claw and crippled it with a Taunt before the Blade Pokemon got a chance to Swords Dance. This thing was clever...and speedy. Its Prankster ability was giving it a pretty big edge in this battle. But I knew full well that Sableye wasn't the only one who could play the speed game!
    "Ok, Gallade! He wants us to fight head on, then we'll fight head on! Let's not disappoint it. We'll just hafta beat it at its own game! Use Shadow Sneak to knock it into the air, and while it's vulnerable, use another Night Slash!"
    "Gallade!" My partner nodded. I was concerned for it after taking some Super Effective moves, but as a Psychic-Type, I knew it could feel that and it was sending me messages not to worry. Typical. Gallade could be down to its last sliver of health and still tell me not to worry. But I trusted it, and it trusted me in return.
    Hopefully, Sableye wouldn't expect Gallade to be able to outspeed. So by catching it off guard, I could do some more damage in preparation for a Ball. I was ready and so was Gallade. With our determined minds perfectly in sync, my partner lunged into its next attack.
    "Ok, Gallade! He wants us to fight head on, then we'll fight head on! Let's not disappoint it. We'll just hafta beat it at its own game! Use Shadow Sneak to knock it into the air, and while it's vulnerable, use another Night Slash!" I wasn't really sure how Sleep Talk worked. I didn't know if it could choose whatever move it wanted or if it was totally random. If it was random then there was a good chance it wouldn't even be attacking this turn, which would really help this trainer and his Gallade. Then again, it was wishful thinking and there was no actual guarantee that it would happen.
    Sableye once again moved first, proving that it was indeed once again using Sleep Talk. What it would be was a mystery. I saw Sableye glowing a bright purple, the shade of an orchid, and I knew it was using Calm Mind. It wasn't particular useful in this situation given that Gallade was a Physical attacker and it was indeed using a physical type move this turn. Gallade hit Sableye hard with Shadow Sneak, knocking him a few feet into the air. That gave Gallade enough time to use Night Slash.
    Gallade's blades on both its arms began to glow a deep dark purple color, like that of a Liepard, and it slashed down hard on Sableye. The little guy was running out of energy, but it would probably fail at a capture attempt. It had probably around half health.
    OOC: Oh ok, will do! Also, I'm subscribed to the thread, so no need for mentions unless you really want to. Question...Does it benefit me to go over the MCR for a desired Pokemon? If so then how? @Dinobot;
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Once again, before Gallade had the chance to move, Sableye began to use Sleep Talk. This time, it seemed to gather a vivid pink energy into its body from the air around it. Its body took on this pinkish hue before slowly fading back to the normal deep purple. That move was Calm Mind. It was pretty lucky for me that was the move it chose, because its Special Defense wasn't anything I was worried about, with Gallade using Physical attacks and all. But that Special Attack raise could mean trouble if Sableye woke up and used Shadow Ball.
    But for now, it was Gallade's turn. I watched proudly as Gallade disappeared into a pitch black shadow before coming up underneath Sableye and knocking it into the air with a violet-hued punch. Then, the Blade Pokemon leaped into the air after its foe. Gallade's movements were awe inspiring. It moved with grace and finesse with all of its well-thought movements flowing together as if it were dancing or fencing. Once Gallade had gained enough height, it slashed down hard on Sableye with bright violet scythes that Gallade wielded with more skill and confidence than King Arthur could have had with Excalibur. Sableye plummeted to the ground and landed on its back as Gallade landed gracefully on its feet a safe distance away.
    The empty Park Ball was in my hand, but I knew it wasn't the time to use it yet. Gallade was still under the effects of Taunt for one more turn, so I had to attack once again. This time, there would be no holding back. I had to get Sableye down to a low enough health before it woke up. Sleep is a good asset to use for catching Pokemon and I wasn't about to let it go to waste.
    "Nice job, Gallade!" I said with a smile on my face. I loved battling. It gave me an unexplainable thrill that caused adrenaline to rush throughout my entire being. I couldn't wait to give my next command.
    "Now, Gallade, go in with a..." An idea suddenly hit me! I didn't need to attack Sableye full on. As long as I used damaging moves, they wouldn't be affected by Taunt! That was it!
    "OK, Gallade, it's strategy time! Use Psychic to gather a cloud of fog and shroud yourself in it. Use the fog as cover to dodge Sableye's attacks, then hit it with an Earthquake!"
    Earthquake was a more powerful move choice than Night Slash, but it sacrificed the possibility of a Critical Hit. But that was good. I didn't need any unexpected Critical Hits to knock out Sableye before I got the chance to catch it. Hopefully, the fog would protect Gallade from further damage so that it could get in its powerful next attack. The Blade Pokemon's scythes glinted in the small amount of morning light that showed through the fog. Gallade was ready for action once again.
    "Now, Gallade, go in with a..." He started, but then stopped to think. It appeared that an idea had just came to mind. It would be interesting to see what this was and how it would work out. He would definitely have to be careful, Sableye was bound to wake up sometime soon. I wasn't sure what was going to go down, but it would be fun to watch.
    "OK, Gallade, it's strategy time! Use Psychic to gather a cloud of fog and shroud yourself in it. Use the fog as cover to dodge Sableye's attacks, then hit it with an Earthquake!" He finally said. Gallade did as instructed, and before long he had vanished. Unfortunately, Sableye was also gone. Gallade decided to continue with his attack, after all it covered a large range so Sableye couldn't really run from this attack.
    I could feel the ground shaking as Gallade used Earthquake. I kept my balance and my eyes peeled out to see if I could find Sableye. Then, barely missing it, I found Sableye lying on the ground. It had been knocked over by the attack. Then, in the blink of an eye, it was gone. I knew now that it was definitely awake. He would now be looking for payback against the Gallade for the damage it dealt. He quickly disappeared and then reappeared right in front of Gallade, slamming hard into him.
    OOC: Male please! Also, I noticed that Gallade was still at 72% health, so I'm assuming in this post that the attack hasn't fully landed yet. If I'm wrong, then just let me know and I can redo this post if you want. (assuming that's allowed) @Dinobot;
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Just as commanded, Gallade shrouded itself in the perpetual mist that surrounded us. Unfortunately, Sableye woke up before Gallade had the chance to attack. It disappeared from sight, slinking its way through the fog. But Earthquake was not an easy move to avoid, and as the ground began to shake, I knew Sableye had taken damage. I just... didn't know where it was. Suddenly, I spotted it, directly in front of Gallade! Its body radiated a violet glow, and I knew it was about to use Faint Attack. Not an easy attack to avoid. Maybe I didn't need to avoid it though. All I needed to do was slow down Sableye enough to keep it from disappearing again so I could catch it.
    "Quick, Gallade!" I shouted, "While it's close up, use Thunder Wave!"
    Gallade prepared itself to take the Faint Attack. Its face mirrored the determination that showed in mine. Allowing yourself to take an attack head on is never an easy thing to do, but it was a sacrifice that had to be made in order to slow down Sableye, and avoid future attacks. I knew the paralysis condition would also make it easier to catch Sableye. I closed my eyes and synced my mind with Gallade's.
    It's almost over, bud. I said calmly. Focus as hard as you can, and land this next move. Do that, and we may finally make our first ever capture in the park!
    Gallade. My friend replied as it nodded. Gallade may not have been able to speak, but I could feel the determination that coursed through its mind as it prepared to make the final crippling move to Sableye. I could tell that it would make me proud.
    I pushed the button in the center of the small Park Ball I held. It enlarged with a metallic noise. I was ready to act, and so was Gallade.
    "Quick, Gallade!" He shouted, "While it's close up, use Thunder Wave!" It was a good tactic. Now that Sableye was awake, it would be that much more difficult to capture. However, I felt that he could do it here if he was lucky enough. Sableye still had a lot of health left in him, but if luck was on his side, it wouldn't even matter anyways about the health.
    Sableye was really fast right now, which was odd because Sableye were normally slow Pokemon, so to see this one moving at a faster speed was surprising. Sableye slammed its small body into Gallade. The dark energy surrounding Sableye powered him up more. Gallade quickly responded with a Thunder Wave to immobilize Sableye as much as possible.
    Both attacks landed on each Pokemon. Gallade had taken damage and Sableye was now paraluzed. It was all coming to an end soon. He was just about to throw his Parkball. I was excited to see whether or not the Pokemon would stay inside the Pokeball.
    Sableye was fast. Its Faint Attack hit its mark, and hard too. But Gallade didn't take the move lying down. Within seconds, the horns on its chest began to give off bright-blue sparks. The sparks shot out in a stream and connected with Sableye, effectively paralyzing it. Now was the time I had been waiting for. My hand trembled slightly in anticipation. This would me my first ever capture attempt in the park!
    "Well," I said with confidence, trying not to show my nervousness, "here goes nothing! Park Ball, GO!"
    With that, I threw the Park Ball as hard as I could. At first, I was worried I might miss Sableye altogether because it was so fast, but the paralysis must have slowed it down because I soon saw a crimson light illuminate the area around me. The light was drawn into the Park Ball, and it slammed shut and fell to the floor. I stared at it, a determined expression on my face. I was sure the gold would be showing in my eyes. Gallade stared just as intently as I was, and I could tell that even Jerome and Blades were feeling the suspense. The Ball began to wobble back and forth, with its button flashing red on and off. This was it. The moment I had (or hadn't) been waiting for.
    "Well," He said with confidence, something I liked to see in my trainers, "here goes nothing! Park Ball, GO!" With that, he threw the Parkball towards Sableye. Most people on their first runs usually missed the Pokemon completely, which I found to be quite funny, but perfectly normal. This wasn't the case here though, the ball made contact with Sableye. A red light shot out and sucked the Darkness Pokemon inside it's realm. The Parkball landed on the floor and shook several times before finally coming to a stop.
    "Well done Dylan, that was a good battle." I said to him, congratulating him on his success. Terrorsaur swooped down and picked up the Parkball. "Terrorsaur will hold onto Sableye until you're ready to leave the park. He'll keep it safe." I said assuring him. "Whenever you're ready we can move out. How was your first battle in the park?
    The suspense was killing me. This little guy was more trouble than he was worth! But, then again, maybe not. If it put up that much of a fight, then it must be a good battler. Still, I tensed a bit as I watched the Park Ball move hypnotically back and forth. Finally, it came to a complete stop, and the button flashed off with a flurry of stars, and a small mechanical ding. That was it. Sableye was mine! I rushed over and high-fived Gallade before returning him to his own Ball.
    Well done, buddy. I said telepathically. Enjoy a well deserved rest."
    "Well done Dylan, that was a good battle." Said Jerome with a grin. His Aerodactyl swooped down and picked up the Park Ball in its claws. "Terrorsaur will hold onto Sableye until you're ready to leave the park. He'll keep it safe. Whenever you're ready we can move out. How was your first battle in the park?
    "Well, I gotta admit I was a little nervous at first," I began as I scratched the back of my head, "but I knew Gallade would pull through! He's never let me down in a battle before!"
    At this point, Jerome and I began to continue walking deeper into the shrouded valley, with Terrorsaur overhead and Blades somewhere nearby that I couldn't quite tell.
    "I love the rush of battling!" I said as we walked along. "There's nothin' like it, ya know?" I paused for a second considering. "...Hey, Jerome. Do you remember your first battle? What was it like?"
    OOC: omigawd I'm so fricking happy I caught a Sableye asdfgqeifwgbeivc!!!! I'm subscribed, so no need to mention anymore. :) @Dinobot;
    "Well, I gotta admit I was a little nervous at first," He said "but I knew Gallade would pull through! He's never let me down in a battle before!" I nodded, it reminded me of Blades. He had never let me down in anything, and I knew he never would. A bond like that is something I cherish more than anything. I was glad this trainer had a bond similar to the one I had with Blades. I had one like this with all my Pokemon, but the one I had with Blades was something else.
    We continued walking onward into the meteor valley. I kept my eyes peeled for Pokemon that looked interesting, but nothing was coming our way. As soon as Pokemon caught wind of us, they bolted and were long gone before we could challenged them for a battle. It was all good though, something was bound to come our way.
    "I love the rush of battling!" He said as an after effect of the battle he was just in. "There's nothin' like it, ya know?" He then paused, the said "...Hey, Jerome. Do you remember your first battle? What was it like?"
    I had to stop and think. Not about what it was like, but just to quickly relive it. I remembered when I first meet Blades, he was just a Treeko then. At the time, he was being attacked my multiple Pokemon that belong to a local Pokemon gang. It was four on one. He was doing quite well on his own, but he couldn't take them all by himself. He was using all the wrong moves at the wrong time, so I quickly ran to his side and helped him out tactically. I didn't have any Pokemon at the time, but I had been studying on battle tactics for a long while. After we teamed up, we beat them like nothing. We went our seperate ways after that, but we meet up soon after. It was our first battle together, and although it wasn't like any normal traditional battle, it was still my first official battle using a Pokemon.
    "Hmm, it was quite enjoyable actually. I remember the thrill of it all, the excitment that came with it. It's something you never forget." I was going to go on, but we were inturrpted by a small outburst. I looked around and saw a small Woobat flying around. "Want a Woobat?"
    After the question, Jerome seemed to pause for a moment as he considered his answer.
    "Hmm, it was quite enjoyable actually." He said with a nostalgic look on his face. "I remember the thrill of it all, the excitement that came with it. It's something you never forget." It seemed like he wanted to say more, but suddenly, a small furry puff ball fluttered into view. It had a pink, heart-shaped nose and two membranous black wings. Jerome immediately recognized the small Pokemon.
    "Want a Woobat?" He asked.
    "Hmm.." I mused, thinking it over. This one didn't seem too powerful to me, but maybe the Pokedex would have more information I could use for my decision. I pulled out the device and scanned Woobat.
    "Woobat," the Pokedex responded, "the Bat Pokemon. Suction from Woobat's nostrils enables it to stick to cave walls during sleep. It leaves a heart-shaped mark behind."
    The Bat Pokemon flitted curiously around my head. It seemed friendly, but it didn't look like it had too much in the way of strength. I looked through some more of Woobat's information. It was Psychic and Flying type. So that meant it had a type advantage over all three of my Pokemon. I decided then and there that it wasn't worth the risk.
    "Nah," I replied to Jerome, "it looks friendly, but I don't think it would fit on my team right now..."
    The little puff-ball looked kinda disappointed at my answer. I tried to turn away, but it followed--flitting to and fro around my head. I think it wanted to play.
    "Haha you're a persistent little guy aren't you? Sorry buddy but I only have so many Park Balls...Oh, I know." I pulled off my backpack and shuffled through it. Soon I pulled out a small, pink Clefairy-Doll. "I have one of these Pokedolls. I bet that would keep you happy, little guy."
    I tossed the Pokedoll into the air, and watched to see how Woobat would react.
    @Dinobot;
    OOC: Wasn't sure if I should toss the doll or you but i didnt think it would matter much so I just went ahead. Hope it's no big deal.
    "Nah," He replied in response, "it looks friendly, but I don't think it would fit on my team right now..." I wasn't too surprised by his reply. Most trainers wanted to capture something most considered 'rare'. Pokemon like Woobat often times got passed up because of this which is why we had an abundance of them here in the park. No one really wanted to capture them. I kind of felt bad for these types of Pokemon, but I couldn't change peoples minds.
    Woobat however, wasn't going to take no for an answer. The little guy was obviously tired of being looked over all the time and was finally taking a stand. Although I applauded his efforts, I knew they were in vain. Here in the park, we had items known as Pokedolls. They were these mysterious dolls that had the power to draw the attention of the Pokemon away from the trainer to allow the trainer to escape. They had the power to calm even the most violent and raging creatures like Tyranitar. I knew this trainer would toss one towards Woobat.
    "Haha you're a persistent little guy aren't you? Sorry buddy but I only have so many Park Balls...Oh, I know." He said as he reached into his bag for the doll. "I have one of these Pokedolls. I bet that would keep you happy, little guy." Woobat, although disappointed, took the doll and left.
    "Alright, now that he's gone, let's continue on." I began to say, but our next opponent found us before we found him. "Hmm. Not sure how interested you'd be in a Mime Jr."
    "Alright, now that he's gone, let's continue on." Jerome said as the Woobat disdainfully flew off into the mist. But before we could move much further, a new Pokemon waddled up to our feet. It was short, pink, and had a bright red nose. It looked kind of like a baby clown.
    "Hmm. Not sure how interested you'd be in a Mime Jr." Jerome said to me as he studies the little Pokemon.
    I was already thinking the same thing, but it was worth looking up the Pokemon before I made any decisions. I pulled out my Pokedex once more and listened for the data.
    "Mime Jr., the Mime Pokemon." The machine began. "It can quickly imitate anyone it sees. It can sense people's emotions as well, and when it senses danger it will erect a barrier, so it can escape."
    "Hmm..." I said thinking. "Yeah, you're right...This doesn't look like a Pokemon I want either. I bet it has some nice perks, but there are probably other better Pokemon Meteor Valley has to offer. Sorry, Mime Jr...."
    I pulled out the last PokeDoll in my bag, and kneeled down. Mime Jr. waddled up and accepted the toy.
    So it was settled. Now I was starting to feel bad for these Pokemon. A Pokemon's strength is never set in stone, after all, yet I was judging them as if I were choosing an ice cream flavor. I guess there are just some flavors I like better than others. And hopefully, I would encounter my favorite flavor somewhere down this rocky road we were travelling.
