BP 2:
Buzz was still basking in the warm glow of Glaurung's roaring tail. He wiped out the remaining drops of water trickling down the side of his head. "Awesome job, Glaurung. Hang out and keep us warm. The large dragon like fire type gave a growl of approval. Buzz watched as the remnants of the last attacks petered out, the trainer introduced himself.

"The name's Dylan," he said cheerfully, "nice to meetcha!" Buzz smiled back eager to see what battle tactics Dylan had up his sleeves. Suddenly he began to rustle around in his backpack, and before Buzz could say anything there was a rather excessive sombrero atop his head. Buzz had to mask a chuckle of laughter in a cough, barely a moment later however Dylan was dancing and singing a ridiculous tune. Buzz had heard that Ludicolo respond well to music, but he hadn't ever seen it being used like this.

Sure enough as the music and singing began, Buzz could see the reaction from the Carefree Pokémon. It began to hop joyfully and clap along to Dylan's questionable singing. As the dance began the clouds above gathered. Buzz could taste the moisture in the air right before the rain began to fall down upon the valley floor. Buzz watched as Dylan sang out his refrain, calling out for a Waterfall. Ludicolo obliged unleashing a rush of water that crashed down upon the small pink psychic type.

Buzz was surprised at the attack strategy, it was a strong attack boosted by the rain, but it was clear that Dylan wanted to get the battle finished. Buzz knew he would have to tread carefully as the Munna was breathing heavily, giving off a slight whimper as it hovered close to the ground with water still draining off it. Buzz could tell that it didn't have enough energy to attack but he did see a small bubble form as it stretched its mouth open. The bubble travelled slowly through the air unhindered by the rain pounding down around it, gave a slight pop as it reached Ludicolo. The cheer and dancing of the lively Pokémon began to slow as its eyelids began to droop.

As the clouds unleashed a downpour from the sky above, Ludicolo carried out its move while keeping with the tempo of the music. It crashed into with a wall of water, causing serious damage. Munna's health was low and finally within capturing range. Just as I was about to pull a Park Ball out of his backpack, however, Munna released a small pink bubble from its mouth which popped directly next to Ludicolo. Immediately, Ludicolo's eyelids began to droop, and it stopped dancing; its limbs hanging limply as it clearly made an effort to stay awake.

The move Munna had used was Yawn, and it caused the opponent to become drowsy before falling asleep a bit later. The best way to cure drowsiness, as I knew, was to to recall your Pokemon.
"Ludicolo, return!" I said pushing the small button on its Pokeball which then fired a red light that absorbed Ludicolo and brought it back in.
"Okay," I said smiling, "Now's my chance! Park Ball, go!"
And with that, I pushed the button on yet another Park Ball and tossed it through the air in Munna's direction. The ball tapped Munna lightly on its forehead, and opened absorbing it in a flash of light.

As the ball began to shake, I couldn't help feeling the suspense build within me. This could very well be the thrid and final capture I made in the Park. But something told me that even if I caught Munna, there was more the Park had to offer. I would have to wait and see.

NBP 1:
Dylan swiftly returned Ludicolo to its Poké Ball, this was the easiest way of eliminating the effects of the Yawn technique. Ludicolo was still in great shape to battle and there was still a while to go before we hit the maximum of fifteen encounters. The limit was the park's way of ensuring an even population and prevented any Pokémon being at risk of disappearing from their section.

"Okay," Dylan said smiling, "now's my chance! Park Ball, go!" The common place device was thrown towards the small pink Pokémon that was still struggling. It was engulfed in the light and dropped to the ground shaking. Buzz didn't know quite why the ball shook given the way Pokémon were stored, but it sure did make it more tense. The faint ping that echoed ominously through the misty valley disturbed by the still constant rain hammering down around.

"Awesome, a Munna!" Buzz said to his trainer, "So now that's done we should keep moving." Buzz checked the bag that had been left by Jerome and found two other Balls tucked in there. "Oh you've already caught three Pokémon. impressive. I'm sure there is still plenty to encounter in this strange valley." Buzz looked around the local area glancing through the mist as best as he could. A building shaped shadow was visible against the backdrop of the mountain side.

Buzz began to wander over to the shadow, "Let's go get out the rain in that building over there." He recalled Glaurung back to his Poké Ball, and began to jog. Soon the building began to take form from the shadow. A small decrepit looking building with boarded up windows. He felt a droplet of water trickle down his neck, then a mental twinge. It occurred whenever River was particularly uneasy.

Buzz pushed open the crooked door and a horrendous screech of rusted metal rung out into the valley. The heavy rain became silence as they entered the house. "Something isn't right in this place," River said internally. Buzz nodded, looking around something didn't seem right about the building. Buzz struggled to think back to the map of the valley. He knew there was a manor building within the valley but this place seemed too small.

There was a skitter of noise from somewhere nearby. Buzz thought he saw a wall shimmer and turned around to see the doors close in on them. Any idea what is going on, River? He thought still looking around eager to make sense of the environment.

"I can sense another mind," River responded carefully, "it is concentrating, massive amounts of psychic energy is present within the building."

Then two eyes shone pink from deep within the blackness beside the staircase that was centered within the entrance, and a small humanoid body moved out from the shadows. The black body adorned with white bows. A feminine head with two hair buns either side decorated with matching bows. Is that Gothorita the source of the Psychic energy, River?

"Its hard to tell, it is so strong it hard to identify the mind, but its possible," she responded.

Buzz looked at his trainer and said, "Well it could be risky battling in this building, but would you like to try battling with this Gothorita?"

As we continued on through the valley, I began to feel uneasy. Some strange feeling came over me, as if something were probing my mind. I usually only felt sensations like this when I communicated with Gallade telepathically. But I was unfamiliar with this particular sensation;it was as if it had a different signature or fingerprint as it entered my mind. I soon made the connection that this sensation must be another Psychic-type Pokemon's doing, but as I looked around the only thing I saw was an old abandoned house. To be honest, the house looked extremely out of place in this valley. Buzzer approached the building first.

"Let's go get out the rain in that building over there," he said bravely.

I have to admit I was feeling pretty uneasy, but I followed anyway. After all, there was a chance a rare Pokemon could be just behind the door.

As we wandered into the building, the doors closed behind us with a rusty screech. Of course. Just what we need. To be stuck in a house all day. But what could have been causing all of this strange activity? My ranger saw the answer to this question first.

"Well it could be risky battling in this building, but would you like to try battling with this Gothorita?" He said, gesturing to a small figure in the corner of the foyer with its eyes lit up.

Unfortunately, I already knew the answer without checking my Pokedex. It was one of my core principals in catching Pokemon to never catch one that had already evolved. It wasn't that I had anything against evolved Pokemon--in fact most of my best Pokemon evolved at some point--but I was raised to believe that helping a Pokemon achieve evolution is the best way to ensure the tightest bond with you partners as possible. Gothorita was a great Pokemon, but I knew I had to decline.

"I think I'll pass on Gothorita," I said, "It's a great Pokemon, and must be pretty powerful, but it's an evolved Pokemon and I don't usually go for those."

I looked down at the ground disdainfully. There was another reason I didn't like catching evolved Pokemon, but I didn't feel like getting into the messy details with Buzz. Hopefully, I could get away from this Pokemon quickly and continue looking for more.

NBP 2:
"I think I'll pass on Gothorita," Dylan said, "it's a great Pokemon, and must be pretty powerful, but it's an evolved Pokemon and I don't usually go for those." Buzz nodded, he too had the same preference for un-evolved Pokémon. Buzz nodded and tried to move over into the room nearby to leave the Gothorita.

There was a flash and Gothorita appeared in front of Buzz in the nearby room, it was clear that it wasn't as willing to move on as Buzz and Dylan were. "If we're going to get away, I think you need to throw that doll." Buzz nodded at Dylan, as he threw the small pink Clefairy shaped doll nearby the small female creature. Gothorita's attention changed dramatically as it chased after the doll that was rolling further into the room on the left of the main entrance.

Buzz turned and backed away into the room on the right. it was the dining room that lead towards kitchen. A large, regal table stood in the centre of the room. Buzz skirted past the chairs eager to get as far away from the Gothorita as possible. He entered the large open kitchen, the cabinets and surfaces looked worn down and the doors were hanging loose.

"I don't think that was the mind I felt, there is some other force nearby," River said. Buzz looked around and saw a white feather from by the side of a wall. "It's there, its angry. In great pain."

An black orb of energy suddenly hurled around the corner, Buzz dived out of the way. He looked up and was falling into a cabinet. He shut his eyes instinctively, but all he hit was the soft, soggy ground. Opening his eyes he saw his chest and head were outside the building, but his legs were not to be seen, cut off by the wall.

He screamed, but there was no pain. The wall glimmered faintly in the moonlight. Buzz pulled his legs and suddenly he was outside the entire building. He pressed his hands against the wall but his arm passed through the illusion. The whole house was, although highly impressive, just a massive illusion. He passed back into the kitchen and saw the small green bird, much like his own. It stood staunch in the open room adjoined to kitchen. He looked at the Xatu, he could see no physical signs of pain or damage but there was something off about the situation. Buzz saw the walls of the illusion flickering, it was clear that it was taking a great strain on the Mystic Pokémon to create and control this illusion.

"Dylan, this Xatu is controlling this entire building. I leave the choice to you, do you want to try and capture it?"

As Gothorita became occupied with the Doll, Buzz walked around a corner into the kitchen. All of a sudden, a dark flash exploded from the same area, and I heard a sharp yell that sounded like it came from Buzz. I quickly whirled around the corner and saw Buzz himself facing off against a large green bird Pokemon: a Xatu. It was clear then that it was the source of the entire house; that it was all one big illusion.

"Dylan, this Xatu is controlling this entire building. I leave the choice to you, do you want to try and capture it?" Buzz inquired as he studied the Mystic Pokemon.

I didn't have to think long: I knew I didn't want to catch Xatu because it was evolved Pokemon. That being said something was very wrong with this situation. It was clear that Xatu was putting itself under immense stress in order to maintain this grand illusion. But why? Why was it so concerned with disguising the area around us? It could be territorial, or it might have family nearby. Either way, I knew throwing a doll at Xatu and walking away would be negligent of me.

"I don't want to catch Xatu, but I think something's up. I don't see why its making this illusion in the first place. It must be trying to protect something nearby. So instead of just walking away, I think we should try helping." I knew just the Pokemon that could help me understand Xatu's stress. "Gallade, let's go!" I said tossing the Pokeball that contained my trusted partner into the air. With a flash, Gallade appeared on the scene ready to help in any way he could.

Gallade, I said to him telepathically this Xatu is under a great deal of stress, but I don't know what it's from. I want you to try and see what the problem is through telepathy. See if you can calm Xatu down and explain that we're not here to bring any harm to it or its surroundings.
Galllade! he replied, which I knew was an "affirmative."

Gallade knelt down and closed his eyes as he began to communicate with the powerful Pokemon that floated before us. I hoped he would be able to get through.

(Also I know this isn't a standard "running away" post, but it seemed like something interesting was going on and I felt like tossing a doll and walking away would be stupid in this situation lol)
