Hmm..." He said thinking. "Yeah, you're right...This doesn't look like a Pokemon I want either. I bet it has some nice perks, but there are probably other better Pokemon Meteor Valley has to offer. Sorry, Mime Jr...." I felt a little bad for Mime Jr. It must have been offended by Dylan's response. Sure, Mime Jr. wasn't that great of a Pokemon and it wasn't something I particularly liked, but it didn't need to hear that. However, since it did hear that, it now wanted to battle. Dylan still wasn't interested and used his last Pokedoll. Mime Jr, still unsatisfied, took the doll and left.

We continued walking farther into the fog. I noticed that the fog was beginning to clear up a little, which was a good sign for us in both finding and battling Pokemon. This would make things so much easier. I was going to take us towards a cave, but stopped when I heard something.

It was a beautiful sound, like that from wind chimes. I knew only one Pokemon could make that sound... well two if you counted the pre-evolution of that form. It was either Chingling or Chimecho. It had to be more than one of them, at least that is what I thought. Or maybe that is what the Pokemon wanted us to think, who knows.

"Terrorsaur use Defog. Clear this small area up so we can find the Pokemon." I called out to my large prehistoric Pokemon. Terrorsaur flapped his large wings back and forth with powerful strength sending blasts of air down at the ground. The fog in this area quickly cleared up. I knew it wasn't customary for a Ranger to help out like this and that it was his job to do that, but it didn't hurt anyone, so I saw no harm done. "Ahh, there it is. Want to battle that Chingling?" I asked him.

OOC: If I do end up catching this, I'd like a Male, please! =D Also, please forgive me if I'm a bit inactive these next few days cause y'know gen 6 is out and all. Sorry if that's a lame reason to be inactive, but I won't be too long I promise. Just a few more days than usual.

As Mime Jr. toddled away with a doll in its hands, Jerome and I continued walking. The ground was getting a little rocky, but the fog was starting to clear up slightly. There were little spots on the ground where the midday sun had began to shine down on. I was enjoying the fresh air. Adventures like these always sort of relaxed me, and when a battle started, I knew I would be fired up again.

I began to be able to make out the shape of a small cave-opening in the distance. It was a dark spot that contrasted the deep brown rocks that surrounded it. Still, the fog--though there was little left-- made it hard to see the whole thing.

This place is really beautiful... I thought, Even with the fog, there's this mystical feeling I get around here. Maybe that's why Psychic and Dark-Type Pokemon like to hang around.

Suddenly, my thoughts were interrupted by the captivating sound of a wind chime. That kind of sound could only have been made by a Pokemon, so I knew there had to be one nearby. But there was still some fog around, and the Pokemon must have been using it as cover. I wondered if there was some way to clear the fog so we could see the Pokemon, but Jerome had apparently already found a solution.

"Terrorsaur use Defog. Clear this small area up so we can find the Pokemon." He commanded his Pokemon with confidence.

Aerodactyl swooped down from the skies above and flapped its mighty wings. They began to glow a slight bluish hue, and soon the fog in the general area disappeared. I was impressed. Jerome had some clever tricks up his sleeve. But, of course he did, he was a Park Ranger after all. I admired his skill, and wished I could be a ranger too someday.

I had other things to worry about now, though. After the fog cleared, a small, yellow Pokemon faded into view. It had red and white striped protrusions coming out from the back of its round body.

"Ahh, there it is. Want to battle that Chingling?" Jerome asked.

I considered for a moment, but pulled out my Pokedex to check anyway.

"Chingling," the device hummed, "the Bell Pokémon. It makes sounds by vibrating an orb in the back of its throat, and it moves by hopping."

The entry concluded there, but I knew a bit more. Grandpa used to tell me stories about a Chingling that once wandered into his neighborhood as a kid. They were apparently very rare, especially in Urban areas like where he lived. He told me that the sound of a Chinglings bell could ease the mind of almost anyone. Pokemon or human. It was then that I made my decision.

"Alright, enough running from stuff!" I exclaimed. "Chingling are rare where I come from, and there's no doubt I could train this one into a top-notch battler! OK, Chingling! I hope you're ready, cause here we come!"

And with a smile on my face, and a twinkle in my eye, (maybe that was just the sun) I tossed a Pokeball into the air.

"Go, Gallade!" I yelled. "Time for another battle!"

In a flash, my trusted partner burst onto the scene. It landed with grace, and looked at its opponent, evaluating it.

"Gallade." It said, nodding. It was ready for battle once again.

"Alright, Gallade. You're a little weak from that battle with Sableye. So start off by using Wish! Then zap that little bell with a ThunderWave!"

And now, the fun could begin.

He looked unsure of whether or not he wanted to battle and or capture this Chingling. He pulled out his Pokedex and did a quick read on the Pokemon. After hearing what it had to say, he finally decided what he was going to do.

"Alright, enough running from stuff!" He exclaimed. "Chingling are rare where I come from, and there's no doubt I could train this one into a top-notch battler! OK, Chingling! I hope you're ready, cause here we come!" He said. I was quite surprised, Chingling weren't usually rare here, but like he had said, there weren't many in the area he was from. It was good that he had finally found something he was interested in.

"Go, Gallade!" I yelled. "Time for another battle!" I didn't think he would be using this Pokemon again, at least not so soon after the last battle. However, he was the trainer, he would know his Pokemon better than anyone else. If he felt that his Gallade could handle it, then there was nothing to worry about. It was also a Chingling, not to be underestimated, but also not really a big deal since they weren't particularly strong.

"Gallade." It said, as he emerged from his Pokeball. He looked all fired up to go at it with this Pokemon.

"Alright, Gallade. You're a little weak from that battle with Sableye. So start off by using Wish! Then zap that little bell with a ThunderWave!"

Gallade began glowing a light bluish color. He was focusing on something. I knew this attack was Wish, I had witnessed Leo's Gardevoir do this several times. Chingling started off on the offense, powering up a ghastly, eerie looking move. The ball of dark energy grew pretty big before it was launched at Gallade. The move made direct contact and Gallade staggered a bit. Wish hadn't activated yet, it took a while to do so and Gallade looked like he was about 50% of his energy. I felt like he could do this though, so I didn't give up hope.

Chingling then used Double Team, creating multiple copies of itself. Gallade launched his Thunder Wave attack, hitting two of the six clones. Was it the right one? I couldn't tell yet.

Gallade's body took on a light-blue aura as it made its wish. I knew it would be a little while before it felt Wish's effects, so I wasn't too worried when it was struck by a Shadow Ball. Still, Chingling must have been powerful to learn suck a move in the wild. I half-smiled. The battle wouldn't be much fun if we were fighting something weak would it? I liked my opponents strong, and my Pokemon stronger.

Just then, Chingling began to duplicate. My smile faded. Double Team made it hard to hit an opponent, and the fog--though it was fading--was still around which put extra pressure on Gallade. It fired cerulean sparks at several of the clones--ThunderWave. That might have done the trick, but it was too early to tell. I paused for a moment to think. There were plenty of factors that would ensure a miss, so attacking straight on wouldn't work...Sure-fire moves like Aerial Ace were good, but not too powerful and Chingling was at full health. I couldn't risk Gallade missing and then getting hit with another attack before its Wish activated. There had to be a way to go on the offensive while improving my chances at scoring a hit.

I racked my brain on Gallade's moves, then I finally found one that could work.

"Don't let it fool you, Gallade." I said calmly. "There's only one real Chingling. Use Shadow Sneak to surprise the real one!"

A ghost-type move would be super effective, and this one also made Gallade really fast. That way, it could destroy more than a few clones and maybe even hit the real one. I looked onward as Gallade faded into the ground, blending with its now dark-violet colored shadow. The shadow then darted towards Chingling and its clones. In my head, I could feel Gallade's concentration.

"Don't let it fool you, Gallade." He said calmly after several moments of thinking. "There's only one real Chingling. Use Shadow Sneak to surprise the real one!" I wasn't sure how well this would work. After all, Shadow Sneak couldn't predict which Chingling was the right one. He would have to hope that he gets lucky, it was the only thing he could do. I didn't see this working any other way at this point.

Gallade began his attack. He used his shadow as a weapon as dark energy left his body and was headed straight for Chingling. It was getting exciting now. The Shadow Sneak reminded me of a character on Mortal Kombat who also used dark energy in a similar way, it sort of made me want to go play the game now. Shadow Sneak made contact and the decoys vanished. The attack managed to hit the right one, which I couldn't believe, it was pure luck.

Chingling fell to the ground, it was obviously taken by surprise that the move actually landed. To be honest, so was I. Chingling levitated back off the ground and began glowing a magenta color. The large box of energy, barely visible to the eye surrounded the area. Chingling then appeared to be moving at a much faster speed. This was Trick Room.

The Bell Pokemon moved quickly behind Gallade and fired off a Signal Beam attack. The attack was a direct hit and Gallade staggered a bit. I noticed a small blue aura coming off of Gallade and he seemed to be doing pretty good besides the fact that he just got hit directly. Then I remembered Wish and realized it had taken place.

    OOC: What's Chingling's MCR?

I was nervous. There was no guarantee that Gallade would find and strike the real Chingling. But my fears were soon calmed. Gallade's Shadow Sneak hit its mark, destroying the clones and hitting the real Chingling! I was pretty shocked that it managed to do that...Even Jerome seemed surprised. I was proud of Gallade, and I could it could feel it. Gallade is my trusted partner and friend, and always has been. People say that having strong bonds with your Pokemon lets them do remarkable things, and Gallade was a prime example.

But we weren't out of the woods yet. Chingling unleashed an odd power over the battle field. Trick Room. That wasn't good. With Trick Room in effect, Chingling being slowed down from Paralysis would actually work to its advantage. Suddenly, Chingling fired a beam of neon-green energy at Gallade: Signal Beam. Luckily, Gallade began to glow and sparkle in a blue aura and I could tell it was feeling Wish's after effects. That would buy ys some time to really cut this little bell Pokemon down to size.

"You're doing great!" I said. "Time for some damage! Use X-Scissor!"

From Gallade's elbows, two blades exteneded. It crossed them in front of it and the blades began to glow a bright lime color. Then, Gallade began to charge towards Chingling.

This battle was getting near the end. I knew the battle was in my Trainer's favor, but anything could still happen. The battle could turn tides and somehow he could end up in trouble. I couldn't think like that though, negative lead to negative reactions. I had to stay positive and show him support.

"You're almost there man, maybe two more good attacks and you have this bagged." I said to him, trying to boost him and his Pokemon up. I really wanted him to be pumped and try to get this over with quickly. I knew an event was coming and I didn't want to keep him here long in hopes that he'd get to participate in it.

His Gallade seemed pumped and moved before Chingling, which meant that the little Bell Pokemon was paralyzed. Gallade struck Chingling hard with X-Scissor. Chingling then began letting out a soothing sound. A sound that soft could put a raging beast to sleep, and although Gallade was no raging beast, he was definitely beginning to feel the affects of Sing. This trainer would have to do something fast before his Pokemon falls asleep.

I was expecting Chingling to try and avoid Gallade's attack, but a stroke of luck made it unable to move thanks to paralysis. Gallade closed in on the little yellow bell and sliced it with its green scythes. It looked like it did some good damage. I was getting psyched now as the battle began to near its end. Jerome could tell that Gallade was trying hard and offered some encouragement to us.

"You're almost there man, maybe two more good attacks and you have this bagged."

Battling feels great. All the time. I don't care if I'm winning or losing, it just gives me and my Pokemon a rush that connects us more and more. But a feeling that's even greater, is the one I get when someone else is enjoying the battle. Jerome's words of encouragement, though short, were enough to get me even more motivated, and I could feel Gallade telling me that it was ready to wrap things up too.

Chingling was not ready to go out without a fight though. It began to use Sing. A beautiful tune emerged from it wide-open mouth. But while the song was beautiful, I knew it had a nasty effect. I couldn't afford to let it put Gallade to sleep. I had to act fast, or this battle would be drawn out for way too long. Then I remembered when I was little. My parents always had a hard time getting me to go to bed. I was just so full of energy, and I always wanted to stay up and do more. That gave me an idea.

"Gallade! Don't fall for its song! Use Focus Energy to keep yourself pumped for battle! Then hit Chingling with another X-Scissor! You got this, bud, I believe in you!"

Gallade began to glow as a crimson energy coursed throughout its body. It was a beautiful sight. In that crimson light, I could see Gallade's passion and the energy it had inside. There was no way Chingling could put anyone to sleep with that much determination and vigor inside them! Still, it was a risky strategy and all I could do was hope that it would pay off, and that Gallade could land its next attack. Because if it did, I would be ready to toss a Park Ball right then and there, and then we could move on to the next destination in Meteor Valley.

Chingling's song was putting me to sleep, I had to force myself to stay awake. I let out a soft yawn and rubbed both my eyes. A nice nap would be wonderful right now. However, I was on the job, so I couldn't just fall asleep, I had to make sure I stayed awake through this, no matter how relaxing the song was.

"Gallade! Don't fall for its song! Use Focus Energy to keep yourself pumped for battle! Then hit Chingling with another X-Scissor! You got this, bud, I believe in you!" He said to his Pokemon. It was an interesting idea, one that I hadn't really seen been used before. I was interested to see if it would work.

Gallade began concentrating on something. His focus was impressive, I wondered what he was concentrating on. Whatever it was, it was working. Gallade appeared to be staying awake and not falling in Chingling's spell. He then let out a loud grunt and sent another X shaped attack at Chingling hitting the Pokemon directly.

Chingling at this point was pretty weak and was really close to fainting. This was the perfect chance for him to try to capture the bell Pokemon. I had a good feeling that it would be caught if he attempted to do so.

I clutched the empty Park Ball in my hand. A determined expression showed on my face, as I waited to see if Gallade's Focus Energy was enough to keep it awake. And then, Gallade's eyes opened wide. It let out a sharp grunt, and charged into Chingling with outstretched scythes. Chingling was knocked back in surprise. It probably wasn't used to having its song interrupted. Chingling cringed, and I could tell it couldn't take much more. That was it. I was ready. Ready to make my second capture in the Park since arriving.

Great job. I told Gallade telepathically. You really pulled through for me in the end, there. Thanks.

Gallade turned and gave me a half smile. It knew how proud I was.

There was only one thing left to do. I raised my right hand and tossed the ball. "Time for the next capture. Park Ball, go!" I shouted. The ball flew through the air, tapped Chingling, and absorbed it in the form of red light. It came to rest on the rocky ground, and began to shake. Would my second capture attempt be successful? I would find out soon enough.

My trainer knew it was time to throw the Pokeball. Anymore and he'd risk Chingling fainting. I looked to see which ball he would use, and like most, he pulled out a Parkball. "Time for the next capture. Park Ball, go!" he said, tossing the sphere towards the bell Pokemon. A red light shot out and sucked Chingling in.

The ball fell to the ground and shook several times. Like I had figured, the ball came to a rest and the Pokemon was caught. This trainer was doing pretty good so far. I walked over to his new Pokemon and picked up the ball. "Congrats man, you did it again!" I said to him. "You and your Gallade must be tired. You can rest up and let me know when you're ready to move on."

The ball flew through the air and sucked Chingling in with a crimson light. It landed and began to shake. Come on. That's one. Now two. Three... And with that, the small button in the center gave off a few sparks and the ball came to rest.

"Congrats man, you did it again!" Jerome said, cheerfully.

"All right!" I shouted. "I got myself a Chingling too! Awesome!"

"Gallade." Gallade said, nodding to me. It was content with its work, and I was, once again, very proud.

"Nice job, Gallade." I said. "Rest up some more. Return." A red beam flew from Gallade's Pokeball and retracted the Blade Pokemon.

"You and your Gallade must be tired. You can rest up and let me know when you're ready to move on." Jerome said.
"Actually, me and Gallade are feeling more energized than ever!" I replied. "We're always pumped after a fresh capture! Let's keep moving and see what we find next!"

That said, I knew Gallade had to rest for a while. It did the battling while I gave commands, so I knew it would be more tired than I was. I would probably give it a rest for our next encounter. As we began walking again, I thought to myself about how cool the park was. There were so many Pokemon and the rangers kept the park looking pristine and and in top condition. It made me think I could encounter just about anything as long as I kept moving.

"Actually, me and Gallade are feeling more energized than ever!" He replied. "We're always pumped after a fresh capture! Let's keep moving and see what we find next!" I knew he was lying, but I wasn't going to call him out on it. His Gallade had just been in two battles back to back, it had to be feeling somewhat drained. Then again, I didn't know his Pokemon so I couldn't say for sure. I could understand him not being tired since he didn't really do anything other than call out orders, but his Gallade was a different story. Anyways, since he said he was ready, I decided to move us along.

We headed towards a small lake near the Eastern side of Meteor Valley. Once we got there, I began searching for any Pokemon for him to battle. I didn't really see anything he would be interested in, and the ones that he would be vanished before I could point them out. We would just have to be faster in order to trap one so that he can battle it.

I continued looking until I found a small pink lump. It was as easy spot in the fog because of its bright pink colors. I pointed it out to my trainer and wondered if he would be interested in capturing it.

"There is a Munna over there if you're interested.

Jerome and I continued trekking through the valley. The fog was getting thinner, but it was still difficult to see any rare Pokemon that could have been lurking about. The light mist that still still hung in the air still managed to veil the surroundings just enough so that any Pokemon we did finally see had enough time to disappear. I wasn't getting discouraged, though. I already had quite a few encounters with some interesting Pokemon, and I knew it was just a matter of time before we found another one.

Gallade would definitely sit this next battle out no matter what. Gallade was always ready for battle, and it would probably fight if I called it out and asked it to, but I cared about it and knew it needed some rest first. I let out a deep sigh. The mist in front of my mouth swirled gracefully as my breath pushed it away. In the far distance, I could see a turquoise mass beginning to form that sparkled and stood out against the fog. It must have been the lake. But we still had a ways to go before we reached it, so I decided to look around at my more immediate surroundings instead.

It was Jerome who spotted it first. He was the Ranger, of course. "There is a Munna over there if you're interested." I look to where he was gesturing, and it didn't take long for me to find what he was referring to. A short, pink lump floated just a few feet away among a small patch of grass. It had short, stubby legs, a rounded snout, and violet floral patters covering its back. It was easy to see through the fog.

"Hmm." I thought out loud. "Let's what the Pokedex has to say about Munna." I booted up my handy informational device and it began to read me the data it had on this curious little Pokemon. "Munna. The Dream Eater Pokemon. Munna can eat the dreams of people and Pokémon alike, and then project those dreams by emitting Dream Mist from its body."

"That's pretty cool." I said. "So this pink Pokemon can show people dreams. At first I thought it looked a little too girly, but an ability like that makes me wonder..." I couldn't spend too much more time thinking about it, or Munna would probably get away like the others. Sure it was girly, but Munna was also a Psychic-type which was one of my favorites and the reason I chose Meteor Valley to come to in the first place.

"OK! I've made my decision! Munna is definitely another Pokemon I want to add to my team!" I said decisively. "Well then, I think it's time we got this battle started! Ludicolo, come on out!"

I tossed Ludicolo's ball into the air, and with a burst of light it appeared on the damp grass beside me. Munna looked as ready to go as Ludicolo and I were. That suited me fine. I wouldn't want a battle to be easy, after all. "OK, Ludicolo, let's get started! Use Fake Out to deal some early damage! Then follow it up with a Surf!"

"Ludi!" My partner responded joyfully. It was usually a pretty jolly Pokemon, so I was sure it would be happy to battle. And so the battle began as Ludicolo rushed towards Munna to begin its attack.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
OOC: Not sure if this is bad or not, but I just realized that I traded Ludicolo away because I forgot it was a Park Run with me. Would I need to ask for it back, or is it OK that I don't have it anymore? Also I'd Munna to be a Female, please.

He thought about it for a bit, debating whether or not he wanted to pursue this Pokemon. He played back a recording of the Pokemon through his Pokedex to gather more information. After hearing what the device had to say, he made his decision. "That's pretty cool." He said. "So this pink Pokemon can show people dreams. At first I thought it looked a little too girly, but an ability like that makes me wonder..." I wasn't quite sure what he was getting at. I knew some 'girly' Pokemon that kicked ass, Gardevoir and Togekiss namely. I mean sure, there were some 'manly' Pokemon like mine, but it was about how you used them that mattered.

"OK! I've made my decision! Munna is definitely another Pokemon I want to add to my team!" He said decisively. "Well then, I think it's time we got this battle started! Ludicolo, come on out!" I nodded, it was a good choice given the circumstances.

He tossed Ludicolo's ball into the air, sending out a flash of light. This Pokémon was a mixture of a pineapple and a duck, definitely an odd combination. It had a green sombrero-like growth on its head that is similar to lily pad. I had to admit, this Pokemon had quite the energy. "OK, Ludicolo, let's get started! Use Fake Out to deal some early damage! Then follow it up with a Surf!"

The Carefree Pokemon slapped his hands together, sending out a beam of white energy. It hit fast and caused Munna to flinch. Munna was knocked back a bit by the attack. It wasn't going down easy though, the Dream Eater Pokemon used Psychic on Ludicolo doing some mean damage to it. Regardless, Ludicolo with his carefree nature didn't let that bother him, he proceeded with a Surf attack.

Ludicolo cheerfully carried out its attacks. The way it battled was interesting. It seemed to battle almost as if it were dancing to some sort of invisible rhythm. It helped Ludicolo deal plenty of damage and dodge incoming attacks as well. Ludicolo began the fight by clapping, and sending a white beam of energy towards Munna who was struck numb for a second or two. Munna retaliated with a Psychic. Its eyes lit up and Ludicolo was damaged by the sudden vivid pink aura that surrounded it. Ludicolo carried out its next attack with ease, however, creating a controlled tidal wave and smashing it into Munna at full force. Ludicolo may have looked frivolous, but its battling was nothing to laugh at. Ludicolo was part of the reason I changed my mind about Munna. I knew appearances weren't everything when it came to battling prowess, and Munna seemed to have some hidden powers of its own. That said, Munna was a Psychic-type which were notoriously unpredictable. I had to make sure Ludicolo could deal some more damage fast before Munna got the chance to make another move against us.

"Great job, Ludicolo! Now let's try using Thief!" I called. It was interesting that Ludicolo could learn a Dark-type move. It would certainly be helpful against a Psychic-type. I wasn't sure how this battle would play out, but I had confidence in Ludicolo. It was a strong, fully evolved...pineapple-duck thing that had never let me down before! I just hoped it wouldn't come down to using my secret strategy with Ludicolo, but that situation rarely occurred.

"Great job, Ludicolo! Now let's try using Thief!" He called out. I wasn't sure if he was taking it slow or not. He had just let out strong in the battle and was now using weaker moves. He didn't have to fear knocking it out or anything so I wasn't sure why he wasn't going all out right now. I guess some people just like to take things slow. Either way, Thief didn't do much damage to Munna, despite being super effective.

Munna brushed off the attack and began glowing multiple colors, like those of a rainbow. She was drawing that power near that red gem near her forehead. She fired a strong beam towards Ludicolo which was in fact super effective. The jolly, sombrero-dancing Pokemon took more damage than it had expected.

Munna wasn't done yet, she let out a flash of bright light that temporarily blinded everyone in the area. I wasn't sure what was happening, hopefully she wasn't trying to escape.

OOC: Dude I am so sorry about not posting in here in so long. I've been really busy lately, but I probably should have given you some warning first. (You know it's bad when mlouden's run was posted in more recently than yours.)
    -

Munna wasn't going to join our team without a fight. Ludicolo pulled off its Thief attack without any trouble at all, but it still didn't do very much despite its super effectiveness. Munna retaliated with a strong beam of light--Signal Beam--that caught Ludicolo off guard. Then, Munna began to emit light from all over its body and the area lit up with a blinding flash. I had to think fast and use a move that would cover a wide-range so I could hit Munna.

"Quick, Ludicolo use Surf! Then as soon as you get Munna in your sights use Energy Ball!"

My plan was to surprise Munna with Surf first. It probably wouldn't expect us to be able to use a move that could cover a wide range. Then, while it was stunned, Energy Ball would weaken it more. It was a risky plan, but if any of my Pokemon could pull it off, it was Ludicolo with its dance-like battle style.

Ludicolo sprang into action once more with a grin on its face. Battling made it happy and I was definitely having just as much fun as Ludicolo was.

OOC: @swiftgallade46; @Dinobot; is sending me the rolls. sorry this took a little while.

    BP 1:
“Ivy! Give it to Chainy! I don’t want to do extra work. You know how I feel about extra work,” Buzz said, to the young woman leaning on his desk holding the paper file about Enigma Ruins.

“No, he is super busy at the moment. You on the other hand are not! So get off your butt, grab River and get over th-,” Ivy repeated. She was cut off by the a noise that burst from the computer in front of Buzz. Buzz quickly checked the email notification, it was from Jerome asking for a replacement he had stuff to do. A grin formed across Buzz’s face. “No! No! You are not getting out of this.”

There was a spin of activity as Buzz spun on his chair, efficiently grabbing his backpack and his other Poké Ball that was just lying on the table. Ivy made an attempt to grab the pack to pull him back, but he sidestepped effectively and was out of the ranger headquarters before she had the chance to do anything else to stop him.

River, let’s get over to the trainer at Meteor Valley, Jerome needs us to take over, Buzz thought as he released the Xatu from its Poké Ball, she obliged and in a flare of pink orb light they dematerialised from the building that sat by the entrance to the National Park.

They reappeared in the valley, it was a mysterious place full of psychic energy, made even more suitable to the Pokémon active in the area by the light fog that hung over the valley. Buzz focussed hard to peer through the silvery veil to look for his trainer.

"Quick, Ludicolo use Surf! Then as soon as you get Munna in your sights use Energy Ball!" Buzz heard a voice call out from nearby, suddenly a huge wave came rushing over Buzz. The water absorbed some of the haze and the battlefield cleared. He found himself in middle of two Pokémon, a large green Pokémon that was riding the wave, that had just soaked Buzz. He glanced in the direction of travel and saw a small pink creature, that featured small flowers adorning its body.

RIVER! When I said get us to the trainer, I would prefer not to placed in the middle of the battle, yelled Buzz internally to his partner, if you want to get us out of the way, that would be great!
Another flash and the now drenched ranger and Xatu were stood by the trainer. “Hi, I’m Buzz I’m here to carry on escorting you through the Valley. Jerome had to go. Glaurung, come on out and help me dry off,” Buzz said, as he clicked a ball on his belt releasing a huge orange dragon-like creature, with a roaring flame atop its tail. The Charizard gave a roar as it began to warm the area nicely slowly drying off the ranger.

Meanwhile Ludicolo was atop its wave heading towards the small pink creature, Buzz watched as the green orb of energy formed in front of it. The Munna looked terrified, it’s eyes shone brightly as the energy ball was released, its direction began to shift slightly. The wave washed over the scene and Buzz could no longer see what had happened.

Buzz saw a curious flash of yellow light as trickles of electricity raced through the remnants of the waves. As it subsided the beam of energy from the Munna was hitting the Ludicolo. Charge Beam wouldn’t be super effective thanks to the part grass typing, but Buzz watched as the energy began to build around Munna.

Ludicolo didn’t seem to be badly damaged, but it appeared as if the combination attack had worked reasonably well, Buzz wondered if the shining eyes had meant the Energy Ball had been shifted slightly and only caused some damage, but it still looked as if it had done a decent amount. It looked like it was having a much harder time maintaining its levitation than was common.

I watched as Ludicolo performed one of its favorite attacks. It had always loved Surfing especially during a battle. As the cerulean wave crashed into Munna, its eyes began to glow. No doubt Munna was trying to diminish the damage it took by using its Psychic abilities. Speaking of Psychic abilities, no sooner had the wave began than a large pink bubble appeared on the battle field. At first I thought it was an attack from Munna, but then I realized Jerome was gone and thought that this must be my new ranger. ...Though why he chose to materialize in the center of the battle I didn't really understand but it probably wasn't his fault.

When he appeared next to me, he was drenched from the Surf and seemed a bit miffed at his partner, a Xatu. I could tell they had been speaking telepathically in much the same way I did with Gallade. He introduced himself.

“Hi, I’m Buzz I’m here to carry on escorting you through the Valley. Jerome had to go. Glaurung, come on out and help me dry off.”

He tossed a Pokeball into the air which released a large Orange dragon-like Pokemon that I knew was a Charizard. The Pokemon used its fiery tail to dry off the Ranger. I looked at him and smiled brightly, pointing a thumb towards myself.

"The name's Dylan," I said cheerfully. I was always happy to meet new people. "Nice to meetcha!"

I then directed my attention back to the battle. I saw that Munna's Psychic influence had caused Energy Ball to do a bit less damage, and then Ludicolo was hit with a bright yellow beam that knew to be Charge Beam.
Not good...I thought, Charge Beam raises Munna's Special Attack too. That means its Special Moves will hit harder.

Ludicolo landed on its feet nearby, still smiling and full of life as usual. I knew I had to put a major dent in Munna's health quickly, and get it into catching range. Otherwise, its attacks would become too powerful and overwhelm Ludicolo. Unfortunately, I hadn't taught Ludicolo too many moves other than Surf and Waterfall... It was looking more and more like I would have to execute my secret strategy with Ludicolo. But I wasn't sure! What would this new ranger think? Would he get the wrong first impression?

Well too bad,I thought. He must know that Ludicolo are famous for having their cells react to music and dancing....Let's just get this over with. And with that, I reached into my backpack and pulled out a pair of maracas and a small sombrero.

As I donned the sombrero, (I thought it looked good on me) I began to sing and chant Ludicolo's next moves.

"Go go Ludicolo! Go go Ludicolo! Dance to the music! Use your Raaaaiiiiin Dance! Then Waterfaaaaallll allll the waayyyy!!"

I didn't even turn around to see how my ranger was reacting to this strange display. I just went right on singing, dancing, shaking my maracas and smiling as best I could. All this rhythm and song was sure to give Ludicolo a boost and make it happy. I could already see it dancing and laughing. And once it starts dancing nothing can stop it!
