Location : Outpost #3 (Woods)

"Venipede, your the only chance this tree has. If you want to save your tree, you forest, all you friends that live in the forest, work with us, please. Help us, save the the tree, save the forest. Venipede, use Rock Climb to pile rocks for Sparky to get on top of and break the smoking branch. Sparky, I'm gonna need you to use Thundershock to break off the flaming branches into this clearing, then we can go from there," He called out. The Venipede hesitated for a second, then nodded in agreement. Venipede began digging into the ground and was about to use Rock Climb.

It was a good plan for someone who wasn't as experienced with this kind of stuff like I was. However, using Thundershock to knock the branch down after Thundershock was what caused all of this mess was not a good idea.

"Hold on!" I called out. "You can't use Thundershock again on that branch, it will probably just start another fire." I saw that the fire was closing in on the tree, so I had to involve myself. "Colossus, quick, use Mud-Slap up on the tree above." The small blue robot nodded and began spinning rapidly, shooting a bunch of mud in the tree above. The flames were quickly extinguished, and it was just in time too. The fire was about to begin burning the tree.

"Good job buddy." I said, high-fiving Golett as he came back towards me. "Watch out for that next time, some stuff in here can be really flammable. You can continue the battle now."

Venipede hesitated for a moment, then nodded at me. He began using Rock Climb, but was interrupted.

"Hold on!" Rex called out. "You can't use Thundershock again on that branch, it will probably just start another fire." Oops, i guess I didn't have the whole plan thought out. The flames were about to consume the whole tree. I knew I was going to have to come up with a plan B.

"Ok guys, let's try a-" 'I started to say, but like always, I was interrupted.

"Colossus, quick, use Mud-Slap up on the tree above." Rex commanded. This interrupting stuff was really starting to get annoying. The blue robot began spinning, shooting mud at the flaming tree. It was lucky he did that too, as he fire had almost burned up the tree.

"Than-" I started to say, when I realized what was the point in even trying.

"Good job buddy.Watch out for that next time, some stuff in here can be really flammable. You can continue the battle now." Rex continued. I smiled, hiding the frustration.

"OkSparkytryathundershockslamcomboagain!" I saud hurridly, not wanting to be stopped again.

Location : Outpost #3 (Woods)

"OkSparkytryathundershockslamcomboagain!" Damien blurted out. I guess I kept interrupting him. I had to though, because if I didn't get it put out in time and a lot of damage was done, then I would have to issue a warning to this Trainer. Him being new and all, I didn't really want to do that. I just shrugged and watched the battle begin again.

Pikachu sent several bolts of electricity towards Venipede. The small purple Bug Pokemon cried out in pain as the volts of electricity flowed through his body. I could see a bit of smoke coming from Venipedes back. Pikachu didn't give Venipede time to recover. The small rodent ran at full speed towards the centipede and slammed into it pretty hard. Instead of flying back though, Venipede attacked his teeth into the mouse Pokemon's side. Pikachu cried out in pain as Venipede bit down harder and harder.

I watched the mouse try to squirm free, but she wasn't having much luck. I knew both Pokemon were tired just by looking at them and that it was a perfect time for Damien to try and capture the Bug Pokemon.

Pikachu sent mroe bolts of electricity at Venipede. So far, this battle was going great. The bolts hit the purple bug, and before it could recover, Sparky started to run. As Sparky started to near the Venipede for the slam, something crazy happened. The slam hit, but instead of the purple bug flying back, he sank his teeth into Sparky. I watched my yellow mouse try to squirm free, but to no luck. The more Sparky squirmed, the farther the Venipede's teeth sunk in.

"Hold still girl, this is our chance!" I shouted. I reached into my pokeball pocket and pulled out my final two pokeballs. Wait, both were Superballs. Oh great, I used my Parkball on Paras. "Venipede, i wouldn't normally do this, but your strong, so how would you like to join my team?" I said, returning Sparky to her pokeball to save her from further damage. I kneeled down next to the bug and held out a superball. I smiled, trying to influence the decision.

"Hold still girl, this is our chance!" Damien shouted. He reached into one of his pockets and pulled out a Superball, then moved a little closer to Venipede. "Venipede, I wouldn't normally do this, but your strong, so how would you like to join my team?"

I motioned for Colossus to ready himself incase Venipede declined the offer and decided to attack. He was going to have to protect Damien from the attack. Fortunetly for us though, Venipede nodded and pressed the center of the Superball with his forehead. A red light shot out and engulfed the small Bug Pokemon. The ball shook just once, then remained motionless on the ground. Colossus walked over to the Superball and picked it up, then tossed it towards me. I picked up the ball and pocketed.

"Congrats, you caught the bug. Like Paras, you'll get Venipede back when you leave the park." I said with a smile. "Let me know when you are ready to go." I said to him.

Rex's Gollett stood it's ground, just in case the Venipede declined the offer. I appreciated the help. The Venipede looked up at me with those big eyes he has and nodded. Pressing the button in the middle of the pokeball with his forehead, he was turned into a red vapor and sucked into the sphere. Colossus walked over and picked up the superball. He tossed the ball to Rex, and i knew I wouldn't be allowed to see him again until the end of this run.

"Congrats, you caught the bug. Like Paras, you'll get Venipede back when you leave the park." Rex said with a smile. "Let me know when you are ready to go." I again released Sparky, as she wasn't in any danger this time. She looked up at me and I could tell she was weak. I only had one pokeball left, and i didn't want to make Sparky battle too much.

"Okay girl, this last pokeball i have has to be for a special pokemon. One we both agree would be a valuable part of the team, agreed?" I asked. She nodded in agreement and pointed to a trail leading through the forest. "Okay, I guess we are taking that route," I said, pointing to the path.

"Okay girl, this last pokeball i have has to be for a special pokemon. One we both agree would be a valuable part of the team, agreed?" He said to his Pikachu. She nodded in agreement. "Okay, I guess we are taking that route," He said, pointing towards a path on my left. I just shrugged and nodded. I wasn't sure what was up ahead, but I hoped it would be something interesing at least.

We walked for several minutes, but no Pokemon wanted to battle us. There were several that stopped and looked at us, but none that stayed long enough to battle Damien. A Beedrill came close to stopping, but just turned the other way and flew back the way it came.

We then came across a split on the path. One led towards my left, the other towards my right. On the left, I could hear a loud screeching sound, but I couldn't identify what it was. On the right, I heard a loud roar. It sounded like it came from a large Pokemon. I turned towards Damien. "Which way do you want to take now?"

We walked along for what seemed like hours, but it was really only minutes. No pokemon seemed to want to battle us. A Beedrill came close, but it flew away. As we walked, i began to hear noises, one was a roar, the other a screech. After walking for a while longer, the sounds grew louder. Eventually, we came to a fork in the road. i heard the screech on my left and a roar on my right.

"Which way do you want to take now?" He asked. I thought about the two paths for a minute. The right path sounded like it was a strong pokemon, but it might also be too strong. On the right, the screech might be coming from someone in trouble. No, if someone was in danger the rangers would know.

"Let's go for the roar," I said.

"Let's go for the roar," I said. For a second, I thought I heard him wrong. I knew the roar had come from a larger, stronger Pokemon. I didn't want to take him there because I knew his Pikachu was at half health, but I only asked because I thought he would pick the other route. Since he didn't, I had to honor what he said and go with it. I just shrugged and nodded.

"Okay then." I said, "Let's go." I moved onto the path he suggested and began walking. I took it slow, because I knew that large Pokemon was around here. I was going to have to be careful if I wanted to get out of this the safe route. It wasn't long before we saw the beast.

An incredibly large Slaking laid lazily on the ground. It did seem a little irritated, so we were going to have to watch out. I wasn't totally sure if Damien wanted to battle this dude, but if he did, it was going to take some planning. Though, all he could do was battle it. There was no way a Superball could contain Slaking.

"Want to battle this Slaking?" I asked.

"Okay then." Rex said, "Let's go." We started off down the trail i picked, him in the lead. It seemed like Rex was walking slow, but I didn't mind, the farther down this trail we got, the more doubt i had in my choosing abilities. We walked into a clearing and I instantly regretted my choice. A large Slaking was lying in the middle of the space.

"Uh-oh" I said, scared. This pokemon was probably the largest pokemon i had ever seen. I looked down and Sparky, who looked up at me with a nervous face. "I think we should just back away and continue on our way," I continued. I picked up my yellow mouse and slowly walked to where the trail continued. I looked back, hoping to see Rex and Colossus following.

"Uh-oh" Damien said, sounding a bit scared. I didn't blame him. Having only one Pokemon that wasn't at full health going against a giant beast like Slaking was a bit risky. The only plus side was that Slaking had the ability Traunt, which made the Pokemon lazy every now and then. It was something I was going to have to count on to get out of this without getting hit by Slaking.

I looked over at Damien and then towards Colossus. Colossus was strong, but Slaking were incredibly powerful. I was pretty sure though that Colossus could stop Slaking if he attacked, but I didn't want to find out. Slaking was a Normal type, and Colossus was a Ghost type, each of their respective type moves wouldn't do much damage to the other. That's what I was hoping for though. That or that Slaking would be incredibly lazy and just not attack us. I was going to play it safe though, couldn't let my gaurd down just yet hoping he wouldn't attack us.

"I think we may be able to get out of this if we run." I said to Damien, "but if we fail, he may attack. You could also buy a Pokedoll for $5oo."

"I think we may be able to get out of this if we run." Rex said, "but if we fail, he may attack. You could also buy a Pokedoll for $5oo." I pulled my wallet out of my back pocket and looked into it. I had exactly 500$. The Pokedoll would take all my money. Well, here goes my money.

"Ok, i have exactly 500$, ill buy it," I said, handing the money to Rex. "Sparky is worth much more then that to me, and i can't risk her getting severely hurt." I looked down at my electric mouse and smiled. I secretly had the fear that we were going to run into another pokemon that was stronger then Slaking.

"Ok, I have exactly 500$, I'll buy it," He said, handing me the money. "Sparky is worth much more then that to me, and i can't risk her getting severely hurt." I knew he was right. There was no way this Slaking was letting us pass without one. I took a doll out of my bag and handed it to Damien. Then I took his money right after he threw the doll. The large beast got up, picked up the doll, and laid back down. Then, he rolled to his left, turning his back towards us.

I put my hand on Damien's shoulder and gave him a slight push. Not to be rude, but we were going to have to move out of here fast before Slaking decided to fight again. We took off back on the path we were originally on. I could still hear the screeching from earlier and decided to check them out.

As we went down that path, the screeching sound got louder and louder. It wasn't long before a small monkey Pokemon appeared before us. It was a Mankey and it looked angry for some reason. I wasn't sure if it was because we were here, or because someone did something to him. Either way, he saw us now so we were probably going to have to defend ourselves if he attacked.

"Want to battle this Mankey?" I asked him.

I looked at the Mankey, then at my electric mouse, Sparky. "I don't really want to, how about you girl?" I asked Sparky. She looked up at me and nodded. I looked at Rex. "Let's try to run," I said. I looked back at the monkey and smiled, trying to keep him from attacking. I wished it would work.

I also knew what pokemon i was looking for as well. A wurmple or a Caterpie. Butterfree and Beutifly have always been some of my favorite pokemon. I figured if i caught either one, would become a cordinater in pokemon contests. I couldn't wait to see what the next pokemon we met was.

"I don't really want to, how about you girl?" He asked his mouse. "Let's try to run," He said. As he said that, the Pig Monkey Pokemon began screeching louder. He shook his fists in the air and began stomping his feet. I nodded back at Damien, but I wasn't sure we'd be able to evade this one. This Mankey looked impatient, like it was in a rush and we got in its way. I knew these types of Pokemon had a bad temper and got angry at the littlest things.

Then, without warning, the Mankey lunged forward and used Karate Chop on Pikachu. I saw sparks come off of the Mankey's body, but I wasn't sure if it was paralyzed or not. I looked over towards Damien. "It might be paralyzed, want to try running away from it now, or do you want to play the safe route and buy another Pokedoll? I still have a couple left. We might still be able to out run it though."

The Mankey continued crying out for some reason. I wasn't sure why, at first I thought it was angry, but it sounded more scared than angry. It had to be scared of something. I just wasn't sure what was big enough, or scary enough to frieghten this little guy, he was a fighter. If we got away from him I would let Damien know what I thought, that is... if we don't run into it before I got a chance to tell him.

As i started to walk away, the Mankey lunged. Bringing his hand down on top of Pikachu, I recognized the attack as a karate chop attack. Oh great, I wasn't going to get out of here. "It might be paralyzed, want to try running away from it now, or do you want to play the safe route and buy another Pokedoll? I still have a couple left. We might still be able to out run it though." Rex asked me.

"Well, im out of money, and if Pikachu is hurt, let's run," I said. I pulled out a pokeball and returned Sparky. I knew this plan was risky, but if we couldn't escape this time, i would have to fight.

"Well, I'm out of money, and if Pikachu is hurt, let's run," He replied, and returned his yellow rodent back into her Pokeball. That was extremely dangerous. Just because he put his Pokemon back into the Pokeball doesn't mean Mankey still won't attack him. He was lucky I was here with Colossus. He was also lucky that the Mankey decided to just run away. It must have been whatever he was running from that scared him away.

We were about to walk away when a bright red light flashed by me and circled around us. I knew instantly what it was. I wasn't sure if this is what Mankey was scared of, but this Scizor sure was powerful. Scizor stopped moving and stood in front of us. I wasn't sure if Damien was going to battle it, but I did know that this Scizor wanted to battle.

"Want to battle this Scizor?" I asked Damien.

After returning Sparky to her pokeball and tellng Rex i wanted to run, we got lucky and the mankey ran away as well. Just as i thought our luck was changing, things became worse instantly. With a flash of red light, a Scizor appeared in front of us. I knew instantly that Scizor wanted to battle us.

"I'm out of money, and i don't have any items to help, so we're gonna have to battle," I said. I reached down and pulled a red and white sphere off of my belt. It expanded with a press of the button. "Ok girl, i believe in you, here, right now, is when all our hard training pays off," I whispered. "Go, Sparky!!"

I threw the sphere into the air, as high as i could get it. With a flash of red light, Sparky appeared, the electric rodent standing in front of me. I smiled as i said a command. " Ok girl, start things off with a thundershock!" I commanded. Sparky's cheecks turned yellow, then began producing tiny electric sparks. As the sparks grew bigger and bigger, they eventually shot towards the Scizor.

"I'm out of money, and I don't have any items to help, so we're gonna have to battle," he said. "Ok girl, I believe in you, here, right now, is when all our hard training pays off, Go, Sparky!! Ok girl, start things off with a Thundershock!"

I didn't have a good feeling about this. Scizor was incredily strong, and his Pikachu wasn't even at half of its strength. I felt that if he battled this Scizor, his Pikachu would get knocked out. I didn't want that to happen, but I also couldn't stop him from battling. If this is what he wanted, then this is what we were going to do. I had Colossus on stand by incase Pikachu did get knocked out so that Colossus could fend off the Scizor long enough for either it to back off, or us to escape.

His Pikachu began charging up electricty in the red pockets of her cheeks. Thundershock wasn't her strongest move, but this was just the start of the battle so it didn't matter yet. Although, it was always good to get the lead in any battle. In this case though, Scizor already had that. The rodent sent off a large spark of electricty towards Scizor. Scizor took the blow, but didn't seem fazed at all.

Then, in a red blur, he took off. His wings here glowing white as he slammed into Pikachu, sending her flying back. The Wing Attack didn't seem as strong as it was supposed to be, perhaps Scizor was holding back. I don't even think he was using his Technichian ability.

Sparky shot toward Scizor, and slammed into it with a bang. The Scizor stood strong, and Sparky bounced right off. As soon as that happened, i knew i had underestimated this pokemon. I looked at Sparky, who was still on the ground in pain. I knew she was becoming too weak to fight, so i would have to run. I would have to look for another pokemon to fight. I had to do it for Sparky.

Right as Sparky began to stand up the Scizor charged. With a flash that was almost too fast for me to even catch, he was standing on the other side of Sparky, with her on the ground again. Yep, i knew it would be time to run. Sparky couldn't take any more. I had to run.

"I'm sorry Sparky, i underestemated this Scizor, let's go!" I shouted, turning around and starting to take off running. Sparky appeared next to me in no time at all. I just hoped this Scizor allowed us to go.
