I agree with you Pidge, the more the merrier. I think that we can't really be afraid of change like we were here, and when the URPG begins to get big, that's gonna be fun for everyone. I'd be willing to help with expansion to PokeCommunity, PokeBeach, or maybe even Smogon.

Also URPG shouldn't act as a parasite (waiting until one host dies then moving to another host until that one dies, etc, etc).

I like this idea. I agree with Pidge when he says "Manifest Destiny". Pokebeach would work best, methinks.

I really don't see a point in expanding tbh, but if we do then PC is a pretty nice community, from what I've seen. I'd love to help out with any possible things that need helping with ;o

 

Ok, I'm kind of against it for the same reasons Ataro is, but if this looks like it might happen, I'll go into it with an open mind.

The thing I suggest most is to make it clearer what we're all about. When we came to BMG, it was like "Oh, you're an RP? Sweet, I'm gonna dig out my favourite character, and get loads of RP posts and stuffz". Since we've got the Ultra Worlds forum now, people might think even more that we're a forum to physically role-play on.

I also suggest a PokeBeach (or wherever it ends up) version of the Dojos. That was a cool idea.

And not Serebii. Please, dear God, not Serebii.

EDIT: And after WAR/Battle Factory, so we can focus all our attention on the new forum. Possibly after the SWC, but that could go on for quite a while...

 

I like this idea, but let's wait until after WAR and the tourneys, and also be careful to check out the forum management at wherever we expand.

One more thought to add to this. If we do expand, we could make more forum-exclusive tournaments. For example, WAR on PE2K. That would retain activity on said forum. And, as was briefly discussed in the URPG BlastChat, the Mentor/Apprentice Program will reach new heights as there will be a lot of newbies to teach.

 

I say ask pokécommunity again. If you can't get pc, then just ask another forum which I'll join just for urpg if it accepts.

I'd prefer PC before Pokebeach, but any site that takes us is good. Also, I said pokemon-online.eu, which is the website/community that puts out Pokemon Online if you have never heard of it...

 

I don't have anything against expanding again. It's always good to have new recruits, and while a lot of energy would have to be put into the new branch, I think we have more than enough Staff to handle it just fine. It won't just be a one way street from here to there though. Many people on the next forum will probably sign up here and on PE2K as well, since that's what a lot of BMGers did.

I don't have a lot of experience with other forums, but if you want to expand, Summer is probably the best time to do it due to many people being less busy (at least with school) than other times of the year. Having two main branches has worked just fine, I don't see why we can't add a third to it.

 

I like the expansion idea but it's kinda getting a little late in the Summer to do now. I don't mind where, but I think Smogon and Serebii aren't very plausible options for obvious reasons. Pokecommunity or Pokebeach seem okay, but I haven't investigated so I don't really know.

 

BMG won't miss us ;-;

 

I've actually been thinking about this for a few months now. I've been noticing that the number of BMG members signing up and sticking around has been declining quite a bit since when I joined just last October. I suggest seeing how the Apprentice thing goes, because it has potential to keep noobies around longer. If by, say, early Summer of next year we still aren't seeing the desired numbers, I say giving Serebii a call. They're one of, if not THE most widely known Pokemon Forums, so I'm sure we'd get a ton of new members. Plus, I think they have quite a good RP section, and Fizzy Bubbles has been there for a long time or something. Implying Fizzy Bubbles is relevant, but whatever.

If you want active, Serebii. Yes the influx of members will be a lot but you will never have to worry about inactivity for a while. PC would be fine, Smogon is a big IF, PO would not be too bad. If you do Serebii, you will need to increase staff specifically for Serebii because it could stay busy.

Smogon was my original choice and it would be nice.

I was going to say wait til Battle Factory but just exclude them since it already started. Although I am not that active on Serebii, I can talk to the staff about it. Any way I can help, just ask.

 

The idea of another expansion has been kicking around in my head lately as well, just not enough for me to make a possible recommendation for one lol.

Personally, I say let's extend our reach to whatever forum will have us, but I feel it would probably be better to start with PokeBeach or PC. Better to snatch up some of the smaller kingdoms to bolster our army, then attack the larger kingdoms in order to take them over XD. Also, I say if we get known on several other forums before appealing to the larger communities may work in our favor, as we;d be coming to them with a very large fanbase and such.

Didn't Serebii refused the last time we asked them? I dun remember lol.

The main question I have is how we're going to staff these things. For example, I'm Park Head @ both forums atm, Harry is URPG Head, etc. Are we going to start promoting other members to take on these roles, though, and share them between several different members? It would be the best option IMO, because one person wouldn't have to constantly jump back and forth between several forums. On the other hand this could cause problems because, inevitably, one Head will do things one way on this forum and another Head will do things another way, and these different takes on the same situation may end up causing major differences between branches. The best thing would probably be to have a joint committee of Heads for each section, and only by general consensus can major changes to the system be made. Otherwise, separate Heads can make day-to-day choices on their own (such as promoting new Rangers or Refs).

The Park already has two Heads so we're already a-Head (cwutididthar?) of the game ;P.
