Coming to the URPG this Summer... ?

Let's not mess with the earnings/prices/mart additions please So no double earnings and half price stuff in the mart imo.

@Marshy/Pidge: It's really hard to cook up good stories in an hour you know...

Somethings we should definitely have:

1.) Summer Lottery (both on PE2k and BMG, but maybe each ticket costs half on BMG than that on Pe2k? Dunno, something like that?)
2.) Banner Contest, separately on Pe2k and BMG so each forum has its own banner, or both on both forums.
3.) Newbie Tournament for people who've joined after April 15th.

ideas, erm you could do somthing like the Pokéathlon for HG/SS, yet i dont know how that would work, it only an idea

 

Remember, guys, the Summer Writing Competition occurs this June and lasts all month. :3 So for you guys who have writing competition ideas, they might not be implemented if it conflicts with SWC.

I like the idea of Limited Edition Pokemon in the Mart. Tournaments and FFAs would be awesome, though I'm sure with there being more people free there would be some anyway.

An idea I was thinking about was perhaps like a Signature of the Week competition. Like the first week a pokemon is picked and those who want to participate make a signature based on that pokemon. Then have voting open for a couple day. The winner would get the pokemon and perhaps the TM of their choice that it can learn and then they would choose the pokemon for the next weeks competition. To keep people that are good at making signatures from using it to amass a bunch of pokemon perhaps make a rule that you can't win two weeks in a row or you can only win it once a month. Of course, they could still participate and maybe get some money or items or just recognition for their work, they just would not be able to win a pokemon from it for a certain amount of time afterwards.

 

I want Team Rocket/Galactic/etc. to replace a handful of Gym leaders, and maybe an Elite 4 member, causing widespread chaos for a couple months; Rocket Grunts make appearances everywhere trying to interrupt things and take over everything.

For instance: this would require not necessarily consent from all involved, since they are the bad guys, but at the very least a lack of dissent from the parties in question. Say a few of the refs know some Rocket grunts, and during an aim or even forum battle, they tell their friend how to get to the chatroom/they have them burst into the forum battle. They're using a Pokemon in the same category as the battlers (basics, fully evo'd, etc) that should provide a challenge, and attempt to steal the Pokemon; if the two team up to defeat the grunt, they both 'win' the battle (and can rematch as just them), but if the rocket grunt wins, they temporarily can't use those Pokemon until they re-challenge him and win, or enlist someone else to help and defeat him.

Things like that, I think, would be awesome if they had the participation for it. I'll post any more ideas I have.

 

More time could be given, but it doesn't really have to be "good". Just the best/most entertaining/creative one wins.

This sounds pretty interesting, but if this is implemented there definitely needs to be the option to opt out. Maybe not out of the entire event, but at least you should be able to label some battles to indicate you don't want to be interrupted.

Could there be something along the lines of swarms/mass outbreaks? I'm not quite sure how this would be implemented, though.

The Galactic idea sounds pretty fun. Like honestly - it'd be cool. Maybe not Galactic or Rocket - but our own URPG crime syndicate. I'd be down for being it it as well.

Maybe we could have mini tournaments for not so grand prizes every Friday or so. Having certain things on sale at the Mart would be fun - as well as limited edition limited stock Pokemon.

I love Pidge's idea also. Maybe lotteries and such too - not just a prize lottery either, however I can't think of what else we could use the lottery for at the moment, feel free to expand upon this idea.

The URPG Times needs to resurface as well. Maybe something weekly or bi-weekly. I remember ST was getting something like that together way back but it never really came into fruition. With more activity - I'm sure it could work.

I agree that we need a planned AIM FFA. Lets see how bad we can torture SiberianTiger the person reffing it.

 

Problem with running tournaments on the forum so non-messenger people can play: they take forever to finish. I'm talking six month timeframes. It's just too long. The standard tournaments we hold are probably about two months, depending how fast battles finish.

i dunno if this was ever planned on making a comeback, but as i rather enjoyed it, i think a game of URPG Risk would be fun to have over the summer. and so that our new members don't get annihilated, we could say that each team must have 2-3 BMG members [/fail_idea]
