An early miss on Jolteon's Thunder was a major turning point in the game. Because of this, Aerodactyl was able to get an Earthquake off for free, allowing it to put a massive dent in Jolt. Beedrill came in and tried some shenanigans, but a prompt Rock Slide ended them. Rinse and repeat for Butterfree, and two quick Rock Slides ended Flareon as well. It also didn't help that most of Besty's team was weak to Aerodactyl's STAB moves... regardless, good game!

Gyarados' STAB attacks were too much for GliscorMan's pokemon. As such, they both fell in battle before dealing any serious damage. Gliscor was $500 short of what he needed for his mart purchase, so this was just enough to push him up. Good game!

Challenger Zolar (Togekiss, Salamence, Liepard) vs. Hearthome Gym Leader CommBA (Sableye, Houndoom, Dusclops)

CommBA was silly and rolled all the things for his gym (even which mons he would send lol), which inevitably would lead for some pretty insane and pretty strange battling tactics. Thankfully for CommBA, Sableye was rolled, which allowed him to cripple and even take out 2/3 (Salamence and Togekiss) of Zolar's team with some statuses, Calm Mind/Pain Split, and Sucker Punch/Foul Play. Liepard came in and Encored Sableye into Sucker Punch, but CommBA swapped out for his Dusclops. Dusclops was only in briefly as Liepard dealt some damage with Snarl, but its essential factor in the battle was setting up Curse. Houndoom came in, and, though it wasn't exactly needed, it sped up the process of taking out the Liepard by KOing with Flamethrower. Good game, and Merry Christmas!

I sucked at reffing this so lemme just go crawl into a corner and cry ;_; Airik sent in his Ninetales to get the weather on his side, but also to Roar out his opponent in hopes of getting a pokemon that would be easy for him to wreck with his STAB Fire moves. However, Arcanine was selected, who returned the favor by roaring out Ninetales! Typhlosion came in and sneakily got in a Defense Curl so that Rollout would deal extreme damage, and that basically sealed the deal for Reaper. Arcanine put a dent in Typhlosion, but it wasn't nearly enough to take it out, and by the time Saesee Tiin swapped out Arcanine for Starmie, the BP for Rollout was far too massive for it to stand a chance. After losing Starmie, Reaper forfeited. Good game!

JokesterJessee (Jellicent, Togekiss, Heracross, Magmortar) vs. Acid Bear (Tentacruel, Infernape, Alakazam, Gengar)

The game started with a face off between Jellicent and Tentacruel, with Tentacruel eventually coming out on top. Heracross came in and Kers swapped out of his sea monster and into his floating poisonous ghost, but an unpredicted Night Slash dealt more damage to Gengar than expected. Destiny Bond assured that Heracross wouldn't be able to take anything else out after Gengar itself died. Alakazam came in against Magmortar and set up some screens, but not without taking some serious damage from Faint Attack. Tentacruel came in and took out Mortar, but, once Togekiss came in, some quick Extremespeeds KO'd the squid. Infernape came in and Encored Togekiss into XSpeed and ended the happy pokemon with some Tpunches. Good game!

Magnesium (Gliscor, Steelix, Flygon, Froslass) vs. CommBA (Blaziken, Delibird, Golurk, Aerodactyl)

Blaziken and Gliscor both started statting up at the beginning of this battle, but Blaziken's Will-o-Wisp was used timely enough to prevent Gliscor from KOing. As such, Blaziken was able to Baton Pass some scary stat ups. MG, having been expecting a Golurk anyway, went for the Ice Fang, which then forced CommBA to change his plans. As such, Delibird came in. It took out Gliscor and hurt Steelix a little, but it wasn't used to its full extent due to Steelix's STAB and SE Rock moves. Blaziken came back in, gained some more boosts, and KO'd Steelix. Flygon came in, which gave CommBA the perfect opportunity to Baton Pass those boosts to its first intended target: Golurk. Golurk took out Flygon and dented the Froslass that replaced the Flygon, but it couldn't stand up to the STAB Ice moves. Finally, as CommBA's last pokemon, he sent in Aerodactyl to outspeed and take out the already crippled Froslass with Crunch. Good game!

Things were looking unfavorable for Winter at the beginning. She randomly rolled all her mons, and almost all of them were weak to water types, which Jesse had two of. To make things worse, Yanmega was pitted against Magmortar at the beginning. However, through some carefully planned U-turns, Winter was able to turn the tides. She took out Jellicent while dealing some damage to Magmortar and Poliwrath as well. However, when Poliwrath came in and Winter was forced to resort to using her Ground types, things started to change once more. Poliwrath took out everything on Winter's team except for Nidoking until it finally was taken down. Left alone with only a Nidoking, things were looking grim for Winter. However, through some Sheer Force bonuses, Nidoking was able to fight back and take the win, KOing the 3 remaining pokemon on Jesse's team! Good game!

Gliscorman (Galvantula, Metagross, Garchomp, Scrafty) vs. WinterVines (Tyranitar, Krookodile, Scrafty, Gardevoir)

Oboy. This was intense. The game started with Tyranitar against Galvantula, but Galvantula couldn't handle the heat and swapped out for Scrafty. Tyranitar was able to deal some major damage to Scrafty, but it wasn't able to deal the finishing blow before being knocked out by a Drain Punch. Krookodile came in and took out the weakened Scrafty and Galvantula, which allowed Garchomp to join the fight. Garchomp promptly took out the evil alligator with a Brick Break. Now, Winter's Scrafty came in and Fake Outted, which caused most everyone to question her motives. However, once she noticed that Garchomp had the ability of Rough Skin, she had already developed a plan in her head. After dealing some damage with Counter, Gardevoir was able to come in -- and Trace Garchomp's Rough Skin! This ended up dealing almost the final blow to Garchomp, but Gardevoir did something even more unexpected -- Healing Wish so that Scrafty could be patched up from near KO'd condition! As such, Scrafty came in and Ddanced while Garchomp swapped out to GM's final pokemon, Metagross. Things were looking bleak as Scrafty only dealt neutral damage with its STABs, but through some carefully planned Counters, Winter was able to turn the tides again and eventually take out the Metagross. Scrafty was barely still up when Garchomp came in, but Scrafty outsped and KO'd due to Moxie Boosts. Good game!

Challenger Ash K. (Sigilyph, Archeops, Medicham, Dragonite) vs. Cianwood Gym Leader Jr. (Infernape, Lucario, Mienshao, Poliwrath)

The game started with Sigilyph versus Infernape, but Ash took the opportunity to switch into Archeops when Fake Out was sent. When the Flying Gem boosted Acrobatics came around, Infernape swapped out to Lucario, who was able to narrowly survive the hit and gain a speed boost from the Salac Berry it was holding. Lucario went attacking again, but this allowed for Medicham to get an easy switch into battle. Medicham Recovered the health that it had lost, then took out the Lucario. Mienshao came in and started some tricks, but Archeops replaced Medicham and threatened with the Acrobatics once again. Poliwrath swapped in with a Choice Scarf in hopes to outspeed and KO the Archeops with Surf, but a switch into Dragonite (with an Absorb Bulb, to make things worse) was able to keep the momentum on Ash's side. At this point, Jr realized that he was fighting an uphill battle that would be difficult to come back from (and he didn't have an attention span long enough to have one of these battles), so he forfeited. Good game!
