Alright, one of our members requires forum battles in order to participate. If any other teams are in a similar situation or are happy to participate in a forum battle, PM me or contact me on AIM.

You only need 2 people for an AIM battle to control all 4 mons.

 

I know, but that's still unfair to our Forum battler if we just go ahead with everything on AIM.

 

Could you elaborate on how it is "unfair". I don't understand.

 

Participation basically. I know I'd feel left out if I joined a team, but was never actually in any of the battles, whether my Pokemon was used or not.

 

So? I think it'll be unfair in a couples months everybody's done battling eachother, but we can't finish the tourney becuase one team can only do forum battles, which takes forever.

 

As someone who's reffed dozens of battles to swift conclusions I take offence to that statement .

In all seriousness though it won't necessarily take long, but even so I think ST said something about Forum battles being judged complete and a winning side chosen after two weeks.

 

It's not that we can only do forum battles; it's that one of our team can't participate any other way. They don't necessarily have to be involved in every one.

 

Most of these battles will take 2-5 turns, so forum battles are actually a viable option.

Iraq's Disciples [Kingdra, Jolteon, Gengar, Gallade] vs Panther Assassin's [Jolteon, Infernape, Lucario, Kingdra]

This is one of those battles where the losing team did really well, considering they went up against some strong members of the URPG. Not going to put in every detail of the battle, but good prediction put Iraq's Disciples out in front while a single silly move possibly finished off Panther Assassins chance of winning this match (Thunder Wave on Jolteon).

Iraq's Disciples win and all members get $2000.
Panther Assassin's lose. All members get $1000.
I get $3000 for reffing.

As the member that has no AIM, I object to the part about it being fair that I can't participate (Seriously. No one else in the entire tourney does not have AIM?). Now that we've been knocked out (?) and the only way that I figured that out was by reading the log above, I do feel left out and useless in the entire tourney.
So yeah, I do think it's unfair to my team, if not me, that I didn't contribute at all in the entire battle just because I lack AIM. I end my rant.

Quick other question so this post isn't just a rant. Why is Panther Assassins knocked out of the tourney? (read above log ATM) Sorry if that's a ridiculous question, but I'm really confused.

 

I have to agree with Muffins, some of the people on my team dont have AIM and I feel bad that they cant join in even though they're part of our team.

As to Muffins second Q&A I'm a bit confused myself, does that mean they're out for good?

 

Ok first, it's a round robin. You fight every team before you're done. August just made a mistake because he didn't really know much about the tournament.

Secondly, you know you could just make an AIM account and use Meebo or eBuddy. Not that hard.

 

Using AIM or a web service that uses the AIM client isn't difficult at all, unless you have some serious problems with blockers/your connection. If you can get on this website, you can make an AIM screename and go to Aimexpress or Meebo.

Fixed the log by the way, totally didn't understand payment.

 

Also, some people alternatively use Trillian or other 3rd party instant messengers that cross together with multiple major IMers. Sometimes that could help! :-D
