Just officially posting that I'm interested in reffing if you need someone, but I'm not fussed if there are enough already or someone after me desperately wants to do one.

Hey, so there's been a lot of requests for reffing and I'm gonna space them out as much as possible. Huge demand = probably one FFA per interested ref.

@Ataro ; Go ahead with your one as planned, although PM me rule you plan on using
@BlueTowel ; You can do the one on Sunday/Monday, whatever time suits (I like the timer FFA btw)
@Princess Crow ; is going to ref an FFA Wednesday the 14th.
@WinterVines ; has one the weekend of the 16th-18th
@GliscorMan ; has his the 20th at 2 PM EST (7/8 PM for us Europeans)
    @Dinobot ; Has Sunday the 25th

That means we have room for two more and the finale (which I think blue would probably be the best host for this if he wants a second one and has other creative rules).

As said before, I'd be happy to take on one of these. I would appreciate if it is earlier in the month.

I just remembered I had a really cool rule that I was waiting for enough people to use, and I bet this would give me that.

Shadow Pokémon FFA: All Pokémon that appear as Shadow Pokémon in either Colosseum or XD: Gale of Darkness or are the evolved forms of such a Pokémon are Shadow and have all the Shadow moves of the Pokémon appearing in that game. All Shadow moves and mechanics work as they did in XD: Gale of Darkness. If there are Pokémon that appear in both, you get the moves of both. List of Shadow Pokémon: List of Shadow Pokémon - Bulbapedia, the community-driven Pokémon encyclopedia
If I think of anything else to add onto this rule I'll let you know. If you absolutely despise it I can try and come up with something else.

*Initial sends will be open for 60 minutes.
    Battle starts at Saturday 10th August, 07:00 / 7:00am Singapore Time (GMT+9).
In case we get confused by timezones/daylight savings, the FFA will start in approximately 7 hours starting from now.

*I will be accepting offline IMs for sends. Before the FFA starts, you should receive a confirmation IM of me receiving your Pokemon. Do resend otherwise.

    Free-For-All
    Revolution
    No Held Items
    Building Terrain
    Normal Weather
    Hit All Hit One
Evasion moves, Sleep moves (bar Rest), Perish Song, Encore, Intimidate fails
    No Redirection
Acupressure and Helping Hand can target others
Illusion Pokémon can randomly disguise themselves at the beginning
Exceeding the given send time limits results in KO at the start of the turn

    Special Rule (originally Pidge's rule)
All Pokémon begin with a free decoy (Substitute) at 25% health. The decoy can be any legendary Pokémon (knows all moves it can learn) and the decoy will work like a normal Substitute. When calculating damage received, the decoy's type/ability/stats/etc will be used. You are allowed to use Substitute with your original Pokémon, even if you already have a decoy (legendary Pokémon). The free decoy takes precedence over a properly created Substitute. Obviously, your decoy is unable to use Substitute.

During each turn, you may choose to send using either your original Pokémon, or using your decoy. If you send a move using your decoy and your decoy dies, your Pokémon will be reffed as "Pokémon is too shocked to move!". Note that your decoy is able to use moves that boost its own stats and will be able to use moves that regain health as well. However, the decoy's health is capped at 25% of the selected legendary Pokémon's max HP. You may choose to target your own decoy using your original Pokémon for whatever reasons, and moves like Psych Up will work as well (since Substitute doesn't prevent it).

    Additional Notes
-Speed order is always determined by your regular Pokémon's Speed
-Moves like Recover would heal the decoy's health up to the capped level of 25%, since Recover originally heals the user by 1/2 of its maximum HP.
-Moves like Water Spout would work as followed: Base Power = 150 * (User's Current HP which would be 25% of max HP / User's Maximum HP), rounded down, but not less than 1.

    ★ ★ ★

The FFA started off with Mewtwo using Skill Swap on its own decoy to swap Pressure and Multiscale. Most Pokemon set up immediately with Substitute and stat-raising moves, while Winter's Decoy Arceus disappeared and became invulnerable, before destroying Lucario's decoy next turn with Shadow Force. On the third turn, the Sun began to shine with effect once again, as Decoy Rayquaza was shattered by a Dragon Claw, thus removing Air Lock. By the fourth turn, half of the players have already began shattering decoys by decoys. The very same Arceus continued to use Shadow Force two other times, and would become an important player throughout the FFA.

On the fifth turn, a total of 4 players were eliminated, and Akinai's Scrafty had started to power up silently by performing decisive kills that activated Moxie. As majority of the Pokemon now have a bunch of statups, various Pokemon have began using Psych Up to copy over the boosts. Like Arceus, Hannah's Decoy Arceus-Steel was also busy taking out multiple decoys with a barrage of Seismic Toss. One of it had destroyed Ash's Decoy Manaphy, which would allow Scrafty to KO with a Crunch on the next turn. It had became apparent that those who chose to stat up using their decoy Pokemon usually lose out to those that focus on their regular Pokemon (bar Psych Up users).

Once Rayquaza was taken down, Air Lock was no longer in play and the Sun was shining brightly. This enabled a large amount of damage boost for Fire-type moves, and allowed the numerous KOs that had targeted the five tanky Metagross(es). Oh and at some point, Liam's Starmie was being piled by moves for like 3-4 turns consecutively. It took attacks like a boss with Def+3, SpDef+5, and screens. At some point, Winter's Decoy Arceus had even used Punishment on Starmie, but it refused to die. What a fucking twat. It died soon enough later though.

As it came down to approximately 10 Pokemon remaining, only Muddy's Electivire, Winter's Metagross, Nitro's Metagross, Maxie's Ampharos, and Syn's Slowbro still had their decoy intact. Scrafty is now the weakest of all, due to it only having raised Attack and Speed stats. A couple of decoys were shattered, and Nitro's Metagross went down with a Sun-boosted Flamer. Sky Lark's Metagross was about to be taken down too, but thanks to well-timed Rest and Protect, it actually managed to stay alive for a couple more turns, forcing others to go down first. In the process, Scrafty was paralyzed by Ampharos' Static after using Drain Punch, and was prompty brought to waste as well.

At a seemingly perfect timing, Sky Lark's Metagross used Psychic to take out Ampharos while getting attacked itself, but this enabled it to move its spot up by 2, since Ampharos and Scrafty had died on that turn. Metagross continued to stall with Protect for another turn, before opting for Rest on the next, and pushed its position up another spot, by KOing Electivire in its sleep with a Sleep Talk Psychic. Just when everyone thought Metagross was finally going to die, it used Rest at the perfect timing again, and continued to survive the barrage of attacks. On the next two turns however, it finally died to Slowbro's Flamethrower.

Starting from there as well, Lanturn had already began targeting Winter's Metagross with Electro Ball (was paralyzed earlier by a Thunder Wave). Winter's Metagross was thus taken out soon enough, and that left Syn and SLC. Syn chose to forfeit even though his Slowbro was left completely intact from the start of the FFA along with its decoy, and thus SLC wins the second tourney FFA.

I doubt 1 point will make a difference in the scheme of things but I totally joint forfeited with Syn last FFA so I should have earned 21 points.

Ties really shouldn't be allowed in a tournament setting, but thanks for your honesty either way.

Exceeding the given send time limits results in KO at the end of the turn.

    Special Rule:
    Deathmatch

Battle will last 15 12 turns.
KOing another Pokémon earns you 2 points.
Being KO'd loses you 1 point.
KO'd Pokémon respawn and re-enter the battle at the end of the next turn.
Respawned Pokémon cannot be targetted directly on the turn after spawning.

Tied places will be decided by sudden death: Non-tied positions will be removed or remain KO'd at the end of Turn 15. Tied participants will continue until KO'd to break their ties. Sooner out, lower position.
    ---
Example: A Pokémon is KO'd on Turn 1. They respawn for the end of Turn 2 stats and send for Turn 3. During Turn 3 they cannot be targetted directly, but can still be affected by field effects such as Trick Room and Haze, or targetted by random-target attacks such as by Metronome.
    ---
    FAQ:
KO'd Pokémon lose all their stat boosts.
Destiny Bond does earn points for KOing another Pokémon.
Suicide moves such as Explosion and Final Gambit do lose you a point for being KO'd.
Sand and hail do not award points for KO's.

    ---

A horror to ref. Twenty participants who don't stay dead. Recoil moves everywhere. Forfeits and questions all over the place. @[email protected]
The first turn started with a surprising amount of substitutes and support moves, with only a few KO's. Accelgor began a campaign of Final Gambits to safely edge forward on the scores.
Many participants focused on the same targets throughout the battle, attempting to KO weakened targets and take the points for doing so. At first faster Pokémon with priority took them, with Ninetales gaining a quick lead and holding it with alternating Protects. Togekiss and Arcanine gained many with ExtremeSpeed. Once Trick Room was up, some slower Pokémon managed to gain a few KO's in return. Chandelure generally KO'd Metagross every turn it was attackable.
The length and slowness took their toll as people started to forfeit each turn, and questions on scoring rose as the FFA neared the end. The turns were reduced from 15 to 12 by consensus for everyones' general health.
    Needs more rules.
The final turn set the top scorers in an easy row, but ambiguity exists over placement of forfeits and non-send disqualification.
Post-game discussion over forfeit penalty arrived thusly: -1 point in addition to any points lost from being KO'd during turn of forfeit, placed lower than non-forfeits when tied. Disqualification for not sending gives no extra point penalty beyond being KO'd twice, and places lower than forfeits.

    Special Rule:
The Hunger Games. Each Player must offer up one of their Pokemon as tribute in the Annual Hunger Games! Due to the nature of The Reaping, the Pokemon is selected at random, rolled from the player’s stats. All rolls are non-refundable! All Pokemon start with a free Substitute. May the odds be ever in your favor!

To be honest, much of the FFA was determined by the crucial first roll of selecting the Pokemon - some people were better off, and some people weren't. However, every player fought hard, and it was an intense FFA!There were turns of general ineffectiveness, and then there were turns of 4 or 5 Pokemon being taken out instantly. Charizard, Durant, and Hypno were immediate targets. Charizard had a hard time staying alive due to several Pokemon having Head Smash, so it fell quickly. Quagsire was hit by Ambi’s Seed Bomb, and Typhlosion fell to Jolteon’s Thunder/Durant’s Dig. Hypno was attacked repeatedly by Ambipom, Garchomp, and Sandslash, and it couldn’t really stand up to all the attacks. Rampardos fell to Scizor’s Iron Head, and Durant fell soon afterwards to Ambipom’s Fire Punch. Lucario didn’t live much longer either, being taken out by both Mienshao and Darmanitan. Mienshao and Nidoking were both taken out by Garchomp and Sandslash (with some help from Blaziken). Scizor fell after it accidentally used Air Slash instead of Wing Attack on Blaziken, with Ambipom/Scrafty finishing up the job. Darmanitan broke the apparent “team truce” early and was ended promptly, but not before taking down the already weakened Blaziken. Lickilicky was the only unaligned Pokemon, so it was also ended immediately. Ambipom fell to a combination of Mach Punch from Breloom and Hi Jump Kick from Scrafty, and Sandslash fell from a combination of Ice Punch, Seed Bomb, and Giga Drain. The already weakened Scrafty was out next, and it ultimately came down to the fact that Garchomp outsped/had a sub, so it was able to finish Breloom with ease. Good game!

    Rules for Tourney FFA #5

I felt sorry for the Brits, so I'm hosting mine a little earlier so they don't have to keep saying up til 4 AM @[email protected]

The FFA will be held on Saturday, August the 17th, 4 PM EST. Sends will be open an hour prior to that, starting at 3PM EST.

For PST, the FFA Starts at 1 PM and sends start at Noon.
For GMT+1, the FFA starts at 9 PM and sends start at 8 PM.
For East Coast Australia, the FFA starts at 6 AM and sends start at 5 AM.
For Singapore, the FFA starts at 4 AM and sends start at 3 AM.

For reference, this starts in a day, 5 hours, and 15 minutes or 29 hours and 15 minutes. I'll also make a post when it gets closer to the time and probably keep my AIM status semi-updated.

Sorry I couldn't find a time that was good for everyone ._. If you want to set an alarm or something, contact me and we can arrange to send a Pokemon in advance so you don't have to get up an hour earlier than the FFA. Note that if you do this and don't make it on to send a move for the first turn of the FFA, you won't be counted as participating in it.

    FFA Rules!

    Revolution
    No Helds
    No Starting Weather/Normal Terrain
    No Sleep Moves (Barring Rest)
    Evasion Clause
    Perish Song Fails
    Hit All - Hit One
    Intimidate Fails
    Imprison Fails
    Encore Fails
    No Redirect
Illusion Pokémon disguises as a random Pokémon from the dex
Not sending or forfeiting results in KO at the beginning of the turn

*Special Rule: League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Everyone picks a character and gains their ability. These abilities may be used 3 times. Character selections are not posted in stats:

Allan Quatermain: Revival. When KO'd, return to life at the end of the turn. All stat boosts are cleared. The first revival puts you at 75%, the second at 50%, and the third at 25%.

Mina Harker: Vampirism. Activate this with your attack to recover 50% of the damage dealt. This does not stack with other draining moves, so don't activate it on a turn you use one. In addition, draining moves such as Giga Drain heal 75% of the damage done as a static ability.

Dr. Jekyll: Dual-Nature. At the beginning of the turn you may activate this to double all current stat modifiers (up to a max of +/-6) during the turn. At the end of the turn all stats revert to 0.

Captain Nemo: Seafarer. Instead of using a move, activate this to board the Nautilus and be impervious to attacks until your next turn. Along with your next regular move, the Nautilus can launch a torpedo at any target and destroy its Substitute, Light Screen, and Reflect.

Hawley Griffin: Invisibility. Along with your move, activate this to become transparent and become nearly impervious to all attacks for one turn. Moves that target you have a 50% lower accuracy. The invisibility has a Priority of +7 and cannot be broken by Feint.

Tom Sawyer: American-Style. When you attack, you have a 50% chance to attack again (rolled before accuracy, if needed). You may not attack the same target twice unless it is the only one remaining. You must specify which attack is which.

Dorian Gray: Devil Portrait. Instead of moving, sacrifice 25% of your HP to earn 3 stat boosts of your choice (barring Evasion). Healing moves and effects recover half the regular amount of HP. For example, Recover will heal 25% and Aqua Ring 3.125%

**Moriarty: Mad Bomber. One Pokemon is randomly rolled as this character to replace the one they chose. Instead of moving, you may choose to throw bombs at another Pokemon. These explosives do 15% damage and bypass a Substitute. They can be blocked by Protect or Detect—however, if this happens, the bomb may be used again. This character has 5 bombs.
