YES, Pokemon is serious business! Do you plan to have the Dojo the same as the BMG one? Like members that joined after a certain date and TPW members? Unless there are other methods of Dojo. But the Dojo is the simplest way because it is type only.

The bolded statement is part of the plan I had. Also, before we start strictly calling it, "Dojo", I do plan on coming up with a different theme, but for now, we have no other name for it. Anyway, I was kind of playing around with the idea of basing it on something other than type, but anything I thought of was really too messy to work out, so I decided to just do it by types.

Right now I'm most concerned with:

1. Picking an appropriate number of "Dojos" proportionate to our estimated TPW activity. This ones tricky.

2. The theme.

Thats really all there is to it tbh. It'd be nice if I could get someone to make some kind of sprites for the "belts/badges" or whatever. That'll be much later on however.

Same dojo system as was when BMGf branch was launched i.e 16 gyms of different types with Dojo Master, only allowed for people joining after a certain date on any forum. It worked well for us newbies when we started.

Some people wanted the dojos to be open to everyone near the end of its life span, but i think it would be better if it was kept for new members only for the whole duration.

As for adding stuff, maybe a bracket tournament for dojo leaders at the end of it, similar to the gym tourney?

I agree that we should scale back. Maybe do about 8? Also, instead of doing solid types, we could do themes like PIRATE GYM or NINJA GYM or HUSNAIN GYM. (Am I old enough to make that joke yet? No? Sorry)

Today, with a few members of the Initial Planning Committee, we were able to decide upon a theme. We went with The Knights of the Round Table ;o

I don't really see how Arena is a theme anyway...

That was mine and Adam's WAR team a couple of years back. WE I DEMAND ROYALTIES.

Icr if this happened at the first expansion, but were there a couple of weeks where no-one was allowed to apply, then it was fully opened? To let people build up a team and all. That's the only thing I can really think to suggest.

Do the same thing we did last time IMO. It worked well. No need to come up with new things to replace "dojo" or "belts", just use them again, they weren't here the first time we used them. I think that I've made my position really clear on Dojos in several other threads, so I won't go into details unless someone wants me to, but yeah, PLEASE DO THEM and let me help with it.

Also yeah, I wasn't here at the beginning last time so idk how they handled it, but I think we should announce the dojos at the time of the merge, have the thread up telling all about it, and give them a couple of weeks to look it over to decide if it will interest them. That way they can already be focusing on building up a lineup for whatever dojo they want to pursue.

EDIT: Try 10 or 8 dojos first maybe? If that's too many or too less we can always scale back or something to meet the number of members we end up with.

I'd like to see this succeed, but it all depends on how many members we get and end up being interested.

It's probably a good idea to wait, like I hear they did last time. How will only some of the Dojos be decided if the number is cut back? Randomly rolled, or perhaps according to the type that there are more gyms of?

Also, I kinda like opening up the League to the rest of the members. Like after 6 months or something. That's what a lot of PE2Kers were upset about last time. And it all depends on how active the PWers are amongst themselves too.
