    @Ash K. @swiftgallade46 @WinterVines

Have been meaning to test this for quite some time now, and finally got to it.

    1. Grassy Terrain will heal on the final turn. Not really sure what priority does Grassy Terrain ending falls in, but in the test that I did, Grassy Terrain healing happened first, followed by Ingrain and Leech Seed, and finally Grassy Terrain wearing off.

    2. Dark-types are not immune to Prankster Snatch, most probably due to Snatch being a self-affecting move.

    3. In the event when a Pokemon uses Snatch, and the foe uses Encore, Snatch will be Encored.

Hey guys so we're working on adding Z-Moves to refpedia and there's a lot of mechanics that I'm unsure of. If any of you know (please provide a source, no rumors pls), feel free to respond and I'll make edits/additions. I have a list of mechanics so far that I've thought of. The ones I'm unsure of have question marks:

-Any damaging move loses all of its additional effects when converted into a Z-Move
-Z-Moves still use up 1 PP of the move they are based on (this means they cannot transform a move that is out of PP) (?)
-If a move is Disabled or cannot be used for other reasons, it can still be converted and used as a Z-Move (?)
-Z-Status Moves cannot be Snatched (?)
-Z-Status Moves are unaffected by Taunt
-Z-Moves cannot be Encored; Encore fails when the target's last move was a Z-Move
-Z-Status Moves are not reflected by Magic Coat or Magic Bounce (?)
-Z-Moves cannot be copied or called by another non-Z-Move
-Damaging Z-Moves deal 25% of their normal damage if the target uses Protect or Detect (they partially go through them)
    -Damaging Z-Moves cannot miss
-If a Z-Status Move is blocked by a Substitute or if the Z-Move fails due to an immunity due to type, ability, or held item it still counts as being used (?)
-Damaging Z-Moves are not boosted and do not change type due to Pixilate, Aerilate, Refrigerate, Galvanize, or Normalize (?)
-All Other Abilities affect damaging Z-Moves as normal (?)
-Z-Moves are affected by held-items as normal (?)
-Z-Crystals cannot be removed from their holder in any way (?)
-Z-Effects are not affected by Contrary, Clear Body, Full Metal Body, Big Pecks, Hyper Cutter, Keen Eye, Compound Eyes, but the normal effects of the transformed move still are (e.g. if a Pokemon with Contrary uses Z-Howl, it will still lower the user's ATK by 1 stage, but the Z-effect of raising ATK an additional stage is unaffected by the ability and therefore the move effectively does nothing) (?)
-Z-Effects occur after normal effects of the Z-Status move
    -Interactions with Mist/Safeguard (?)
-Interactions with Terrain, Heavy Rain, Harsh Sunlight, Delta Stream (?)

Please share insight if you have any! And also suggest things to add! (Dont worry about mechanics for specific moves like Mirror Move; these will go under the move itself. Just looking for general Z-Move mechanics).

Offhand I know the first one is definitely correct and I think most of the others are (but not 100% certain). Think Z-Howl works as you suggested too.

It would be fairly easy to test most of these on Showdown btw

Their damage is reduced by 75% if the target uses protect/detect; they deal 25% of their normal damage.

Suggested on Discord a few days ago: an update to the definition of Flail/Reversal, which currently has gaps and imprecise percentages. Currently this:

Say, in the case of the user having 3.5%, it may be unclear whether Reversal would have a 150BP or 200BP, when in fact there should be no rounding necessary at all. From Bulbapedia:

The exact percentages could be disputed if you look at different sources, but most of the usual sites don't list exact percentages either. I did find this Smogon post from 2005 which cites data establishing the same percentages (about halfway through), except rounded to one decimal point. That's not necessarily a perfect source either, but I assume nobody wants to test this, so these percentages probably work for us.

    Suggested amendment:

The less HP User Pokémon has, the more damage (Flail / Reversal) does.
    • From 68.75% to 100% 20 Power
    • From 35.42% to 68.74% 40 Power
    • From 20.83% to 35.41% 80 Power
    • From 10.42% to 20.82% 100 Power
    • From 4.17% to 10.41% 150 Power
    • From 0.01% to 4.16% 200 Power

Might just be my browser, but the formatting for the battle scenario questions on the ref test is quite off. Like it looks like the format didn't carry over when copy-pasted. This makes the dice rolled bit really confusing too.

Think the bottom part of the ref encyclopedia is cut off too, but might just be my browsers?

Also the link in the Gym Leaders, E4 and Champion thread doesn't work.

These two have been edited in. Thanks for bringing them up!

This kind of issue is for Housekeeping Thread, but all fixed except for the links. I'll get those in a min. Thanks to you as well!

Tested on Sun/Moon with JacenBoy: moves called by Copycat work through an opponent's Imprison.

edit: also just realized the move description for Reversal refers to the move itself as Flail.

Tested on Sun/Moon: Encore fails when used against Sleep Talk (regardless of whether Sleep Talk successfully called a move or failed to due Rest being selected).

I've updated this into the refpedia since Swift said I was lazy. :(
Just making a post since there are some mechanic changes.

Tested on Sun/Moon: Stance Change no longer activates independently and prior to checks. Bulbapedia is correct on this. If Aegislash attempts to use a move but cannot execute it (due to a status condition or confusion for example), Stance Change does not activate.

Also added / made the following changes on refpedia with data obtained from Smogon / Youtube:
    • Broke down the description of Electric/Grassy/Misty/Psychic Terrain into bullet points
    • Broke down the description of Substitute into bullet points to make it more readable
    • Z-Destiny Bond's "Follow Me effect" does not carry on onto the next turn, unlike Destiny Bond's effect which continues until the user's next move.
      • In a Double Battle with an ally Pokemon using Follow Me, Z-Destiny Bond's redirection will take precedence.
    • Ditto can Imposter/Transform into Ash-Greninja, but Water Shuriken will still not be boosted by Battle Bond.
    • Added the part about allies' priority moves not being blocked for Psychic Terrain, Queenly Majesty, and Dazzling.
    • Quick Guard will also shield its user from Triage Floral Healing
    • Added Shields Down beside Zen Mode in End of Turn Effects
    • Updated Stance Change and Shields Down description to be more consistent with each other
    ---

    • (Tested on Sun/Moon) Misty Terrain halves the power of Dragon-type moves regardless of whether the user is grounded. However, the power reduction only applies to grounded targets. Non-grounded targets will still take full damage.
    • (Tested on Sun/Moon) Contact abilities, specifically Cursed Body, Iron Barbs, Cute Charm, Effect Spore, Flame Body, Poison Point, and Static, will not activate if the bearer is behind a Substitute.
    • Imposter Ditto is not affected by Eviolite
    • Extreme Evoboost is affected by Simple
    • Changed Flower Veil's description to explicitly state that the bearer must be a Grass-type for Flower Veil to work. Also added in the immunity to major status conditions which was earlier missing.
    • Floral Healing heals 2/3 during Grassy Terrain, not 100%.
    • Crafty Shield should have Priority+3.
    • Broke down the list of moves affected by Snatch into bullet points and added a few missing moves.
    • Prankster description should be more concise now.
    ---
    • Tested on Sun/Moon: Reflect Type's typing is never announced, shown only as "Pokemon's typing changed to match the opposing Pokemon's typing". However, the typing appears to be shown in stats.
    • Tested on Sun/Moon: Infestation/trapping moves lasts for 4 or 5 turns, including the last turn. The actual message of "Pokemon was freed from Infestation!" however only appears on the next turn.

After testing about 40 times in Moon using Destiny Bond will cause it to fail on it's second use in a row, rather than reduce the chance each turn like Protect.
