YAY! If I'm not too much of a n00b, I'd love to help with this, maybe Pokémon of the week?

 

I'd be interested in Pokemon of the Week and possible future of URPG (if that means "commenting" on URPG then ya lol)

 

Not too much of a noob! I'll brief you on this on aim if you want, or just look at some of the older ones to get a feel for it

Sounds cool, and yeah it's pretty open to interpretation. Commenting on the state of URPG and where's it going could be pretty cool!

 

We had a lot of discussions about this a while back. Pretty much everyone was agreed that it should be reduced to a monthly paper. Weekly releases put way too much stress on everyone to provide content, and was the main reason for it repeatedly dying.

Having said that, I more than welcome anyone who wants to try and revive it.

 

Monthly's pretty lengthy time tbh. I think every two weeks is a comfortable range during the summer months if dat cool?

 

Yeah, I'm not saying "This is how it has to be run". Just a general heads up that short deadlines seemed to be what was discouraging people from providing content, and causing those that did to burn out pretty quickly. It was something that whoever did end up running it again would need to be aware of.

I'd be happy to contribute things also.

 

I'd like to help proofreading (GQC), or maybe something to do with the Pokemon of the Week - or, if we're going to do this true paper style, a small puzzle / quiz / crosswords section or something?

 

I'd be interested in Pokemon of the-- oh. Wow guys lets all take the only job swifty wanted and take advantage of his slowness ;-;

 

A bit contradictory there? Anyways, yeah, only part I would've done was Pokémon of the Week as well. And yes, please bring back Target of the Week!

 

We can trt and do two pokemon per issue I guess since every two weeks meaning two writers. We can rotate between interested parties or whoever has the best articles might just keep the slot ^_^

 

If I could make any suggestion it would be to look for quality authors / article writers instead of first come first serve ;o. Maybe even do submission pieces? This way you can be sure to get the type of submission you are looking for. For example POTW seems like it could be quite up for interpretation to me. Like would you do stuff like: Favorable match ups ? or even TM lists can vary in what people think is competitive / affordable.

BTW not a specific knock on PG or anyone who has gotten a nod already, I just mean in general.

Other ideas for articles could be A walk through a battle, seeing the thoughts of both sides, or at least even a few turns of a battle.

 

I like the 'walk through a battle' idea, although a full battle would be way too long, unless it was just 1v1 or something.

 

If you can find someone to put it up on the PXR Site (Wordpress), that would be cool too (free advertising).

Would be willing to pay for that.

 

I have WordPress access still, I think, so I might be able to do it.

As for PotW, maybe have all interested parties come together and discuss what should be that week's/issue's/whatever's Pokemon?

 

Like I said, quality definitely coming first this time around. I don't think there's a real need for submission articles since I've a fair idea of most people's writing capabilities. That being said, I'm going to give the first issue's Pokemon to Ash and Swift. we can discuss what topics you guys would like to cover over AIM and work something out!

This sounds like a pretty cool idea. I'll have a think about what this could entail but Smores or Monbrey could take this if either want.

First issue's going to go up on Sunday June 1st! This means I need all articles by the 27th which is ten days from now! Felly and Lovecraft will be in charge of QC and then it'll go up on the 1st!

I'll make a post of what everyone's writing for this issue in a few minutes. Any questions regarding what to do or anything just send me them!

 

Issue #1 - June 1st:

-Brief editorial - Synthesis - General intro to URPG times, what's going on these days

-Target of the week - Prizes for anyone who defeats this trainer in a 4v4+ battle where the target makes the rules!

-URPG metagame article - Synthesis - This will focus on a number of things including biggest threats, trends, underrated mons, unique niches, E4 tricks, and so forth (x2)

-Gym Leader Interview - @Smiles ; - Your choice who and what kind of questions! Formality completely optional too so any register is fine I'd think!

-Written piece - @Smiles ; - Write something that you feel encompasses a certain theme, mood, setting or anything of the sort. You have complete choice on what to write!

-Future of URPG - @Elamite ; - you've got free reigns here! Take any kind of topic of URPG past, present and/or future and give us some insight!

-Pokemon of the week - @Ash K. ; @swiftgallade46 ; - Best to roll the Pokemon like we did before iirc. Reroll legends, evolve basics! I'd like to see the same headers covered from both, including EM shopping list, an overview of this Pokemon's usefulness in battle, battle strategies and maybe a little trivia about it. Try and work it out between you so there's a similar vibe from each and feel free to add in extra headings!

-Quiz - @Lovecraft ; - I was thinking ten or so questions of moderate to hard (not easily googleable) questions dealing with the URPG, Pokemon in general and possibly the real world.

Quality Control - @Felly ; - Just general grammar checks and tidying up! I'll send you the articles on the 27th! See what you can do with WordPress but no pressure!!

There hasn't been any interest in it so far but some art would be a great addition imo. Any style from comics to sketches to pretty much anything is cool! @Fawkes ; @Sky Lark ; @TheProtobabe ; @Monbrey ; might be interested?

What exactly would this be? Detailing a battle that happened during the week, like sports highlights?
