WOW.

This writing competition, like my last camping expedition, was in tents. With a relatively small amount of entries, I was hardly expecting a competition of this caliber, but even with the lack of total participants, I think we reached a whole new level of writing greatness. The three preliminary rounds filtered out the best of the best, and this final round filtered out the best of the best of the best. Three of URPG's most budding authors risked it all in this final battle, but alas, only one winner may be crowned! The three stories, in all their excellence!

Before I announce who takes home the prize, I'd just like to remind everyone that they all wrote admirably, even those who didn't make it to the end. This competition thrives because of your excellence, and you keep the writing spirit alive! So without further ado, here is the tally!

Dearest Elysia and her story was the first determined finalist, and with her story of discarded emotions, she has earned herself second place in this competition to end all competitions. For her wonderful novella, Elysia can claim $8000 and a Complex Pokemon as she takes the silver medal and heads on her way. Wahoo!

SMILIN' BABY. With 19 total points, Smiles narrowly pulled a victory, but her gold medal is well deserved. Telling the tragic tale of one very beautiful spine (?) has earned Smiles the very prestigious position of first place! Alongside $10,000, Smiles can claim any unclaimed temporary legendary (check and post in this thread upon selecting a legend) for an entire year from this post! Round of applause and a second wave of tissues as we congratulate Smiles and dab away our tears! Congratulations, Smiles!

And with that, the competition is concluded. One certainly full of surprises, sadness, and overall, great writing spirit. It's for stories like these that make me proud to operate these competitions. We always draw out the best in the story section, and this competition was surely one that rivals its predecessors. Surely this one will go down in URPG history as being one of the greatest, not just because of the victors, but because of all the heart and soul that all the participants contributed. Quite amazing, actually. The story section never ceases to amaze me! Let's all snap our fingers really really hard to congratulate all of the fantastic writers to really give it their all. It's because of you guys that the story section stays on top and that this competition will always thrive!

I actually died. This is literally a dream come true, I can't even....thank you all so much! and thank you Hanners for hosting this phenomenal competition! All of the stories were so spectacular...especially Ely's and Akinai's I can't what ;~~~~~~~~;
