Actually, hi, I'm still kicking, and I'm still working on your grade.

Also, hey, not to nitpick and all, but you requested that I not grade your story until after the SWC ended, which was mid-August, at which point I had to scrap my old grade and start anew. Not entirely an excuse for the current two month wait, and I'm sorry, and I'll try to get it done this weekend. College has been a bit heavy, but I gotchu.

    Hi everyone!

I miss you all and hope that school / work / life is going incredibly well for all of you! Major good job for grading and things even with everything else going on. Major shout out to @Felly;kins for picking up a lot of stories in the last few days.

I had originally planned to do grader wages once more stories were graded, but September and the beginning of October had been a little rough for the story section. No worries - grader wages will come out this weekend! YAY! Keep working hard!

A list of stories that still need to be graded (will update main list too):

Chapter One: The Need for Speed
    The Speaker
    Flight: Chapter 1

You are all amazing! Write more stories, find apprentices (or mentors) to write with, and keep going strong! I love you all!

Also, if you have some sort of story-event brewing on your mind, please let me know. I'm thinking about how we can give our favorite section a little jumpstart.

Hi, you know how we're supposed to give you guys a week before asking about our grades? Well, it's been a week since I posted my first story, and I gotta know if Rush successfully caught that Yanma.

Chances are your grade is not getting done in a week, you have to remember graders haves life's just like the rest of us school and other IRL things come first, so If you want to know if your grade is up look at your story if its not then you have to wait like the rest of us. I hope your story pass's.

While we are having a bit of a backlog here, the one week period is the goal of the section. So him asking after a week has passed and no one has even claimed is okay. This story in particular not so much since not many others were posted since then and it's still easy to find. I agree with you Reaper, but I'm just saying that if something similar happen to the newbie in the future he knows it's okay to post here. (If it was claimed, then it'd be best if you tried to contact the grader first, ask them what is happening, if they're okay, if they'll be free any time soon, etc. after one week at least has passed.)

Ohey there guys. So as I started writing a new story I thought, "Hmmm... maybe I should take a break and read some of my old stories (that I completed... haha...)" and I found one from July 2013 that still needs to be graded riiiiight here. No pressure or anything, I'm in no hurry, but I did reread it and I was like "Hey... this wasn't too bad of a story". Thanks guys.

(Also hi, sorry for being gone so long : D )

    Hi my friends,

In lieu of the Winter Gifting Station, Grader Wages will come out on December 22nd. The next one will be on January 1st so we set a regular monthly schedule for the rest of the year. Make sure those logs are updated. Remember that there is a grading bonus for Secret Santa stories!

In regards to Secret Santa, you now have 6 days, until December 24th, to complete and post your Secret Santa story to one of the three forums. Gift Pokemon will be exchanged and Stocking Stuffers rolled on December 25th.

    @Lovecraft; @Meow Wow; @Felly; @XaiakuX; @DracoMan; @EmpireCrusher203; @Master Hei; @swiftgallade46; @Caite-chan; @Oshawott2003; @Elysia; @mlouden03;

The Winter Writing Competition will be posted on January 1st, as well as another special treat for the Story Section!

Keep doing what you're doing! Happy Holidays <3

    forever frosty,
    Smiles

I guess I have the one week grace period for me to ask people to grade my story. (Formation of Words)

I'd be happy with a claim, I'm in no hurry, and I was requesting for a detailed grade.

So posting this here, because it's relevant and I want to know if anybody will be participating (for or not for URPG reasons).

    So, guys
[22:28:17] Lovecraft: Camp NaNoWriMo is coming up
[22:28:23] Lovecraft: Anybody gonna partake on it?
[22:28:33] Lovecraft: Cuz if yes we could make our little PWN cabin
    [22:28:35] Lovecraft: It'd be awesome

    Truly An Cat 10:32 pm
Also, Liam, have you got basics? O3o

"The Liam King" ATLiam Regan 10:32 pm
    wow really? already?
I did for like 20min this morning
    but nto atm sorry
    *not

    Truly An Cat 10:33 pm
    Isn't nanowrimo in November?

    Lovecraft 10:33 pm
    yes

    Lovecraft 10:33 pm
but camp nanowrimo is on april and july
and it has more flexible wordcount
    etc.

    Truly An Cat 10:33 pm
    Oh.

"The Liam King" ATLiam Regan 10:33 pm
    what's that?

    Lovecraft 10:33 pm
    this writing thing
    nanowrimo

    Truly An Cat 10:33 pm
    Um, so, what's that?

    Lovecraft 10:33 pm
is to write something that's 50k word long in one month

    Truly An Cat 10:33 pm
    (Ninja'd! )
    Also huge lash, apparently.

    Lovecraft 10:33 pm
    plus or less some restrictions

    Truly An Cat 10:34 pm
    *lag

"The Liam King" ATLiam Regan 10:34 pm
    for... urpg?

    Lovecraft 10:34 pm
(Has to be fiction, has to be one story)
    No, in general

"The Liam King" ATLiam Regan 10:34 pm
    where?

    Lovecraft 10:34 pm
Camp NaNoWriMo is similar but it has flexible wordcounts
And it's a bit more social
    On the internet
    campnanowrimo.org
    for camp
    and nanowrimo.org
    for nano

    Truly An Cat 10:34 pm
Oh. Normal nanowrimo can be different stories.

    Lovecraft 10:34 pm
    iirc

    Truly An Cat 10:35 pm
    Iirc

"The Liam King" ATLiam Regan 10:35 pm
    is it a compition?

    Lovecraft 10:35 pm
nah nanowrimo is novel, so it has to be one big work

"The Liam King" ATLiam Regan 10:35 pm
    *compitition

    Lovecraft 10:35 pm
    camp can be short stories
    not necessarily
    the goal is to write
but you can make it a competition if you so wish

    Truly An Cat 10:35 pm
    It's more like a marathon

    Lovecraft 10:35 pm
    Indeed

    Truly An Cat 10:36 pm
See who can cross the finish line, more than who gets there first

"The Liam King" ATLiam Regan 10:36 pm
    oh okay

    Lovecraft 10:36 pm
Anyhow, if anybody's participating or something, just tell me. So we can maybe make a cabin for everybody or s/t. Idk

Requesting new Grader to the above post. Really hoping a triple post won't be necessary. Seriously.

I know that Hannah spends a bit longer than the typical ~week wait for her grades and compensates by having oodles of helpful feedback in it. As far as I'm aware, she's still active now, and a month is somewhat within her norm, so I won't override it quite yet (also lol like I would be any faster haha D:)

That being said, if @Princess Crow; wants, I'll have some free time on my hands after I finish with elrond's story. Idk. It's up to her, and I'm sure she's already put a lot of thought into it already.

Sorry for the wait though. .-.

If I wanted feedback, I'd post in the Fanfic Boards.

I know she is active and have sent her PM's. Still--- a month wait should not be normal. To have a grader say that really puts me in a bad mood.

I'm sorry Jack, I didn't realize there were any ungraded stories--I should have been more diligent checking this thread.

I'm going to be unavailable this weekend, but if the story hasn't been graded or reclaimed by the time I get back, I'll take it and give my usual 48 hour notice.

In the meantime, a note to everyone: If there are any other ungraded stories, please PM me or reach out on AIM! I've got plenty of free time, and if something hasn't been graded by now, I imagine you have been waiting a while!

I totally understand you frustration at the long wait. That is completely reasonable. But if you're expecting little to no feedback, then sorry bub but you're in the wrong section. That's not how grading stories works. It's up to the grader what kind of grade you get and how it's delivered.

I think we all need to get a little patience up in here. I dunno about the rest of y'all, but we got lives, man. I can't sit at a computer for hours on end reading stories. I can barely get through this orientation guide I was given to me today.

On a more serious note, as a grader, I really don't appreciate the snarky comments about how if one wanted feedback, they'd go to a different section. Totally not trying to call out Jack here, but he's the one that did it. (I'm also probably the only one that considers it snarky, but whatever.) Consider this a message to all writers in the URPG section though. The whole idea of a grade is to give feedback on a story. If you didn't want feedback on a story, why post it at all? Why share it with the world and put it up for a grade? For no reason whatsoever? Graders, myself included, take the time to voluntarily read these stories to write you up the best grade that we can to give you the best advice that we can. No one is forcing us to do this. We voluntarily took the job, and we get paid in digital, URPG money to voluntarily write these grades for you all, and said URPG money can't be transferred to a real life job or anything like that, it can only be used in the URPG; the only real life thing we get out of it is the fact that we (hopefully) gave someone advice that they'll take to heart to improve future stories and pride in earning fake money to EM Pokemon in an online RPG.

To hear "oh, if I wanted feedback, I'd go to *insert section here*" makes me feel like the time I took away from doing something else to go and read your story and type up a grade for your story with advice that I'd hope you at least take the time to read is completely meaningless. Sure, you may not read the grade right away, you may skip straight down to the bottom to see the Pokemon you tried to capture was caught so you can do your basics because there's that initial excitement, but you can always go back and read it and get that feedback before you write another story or once that excitement has died or if you're just bored. No one here is a perfect, award winning, published writer, at least not as far as I'm aware, and if anyone is, good for you. Even if you were, you still have flaws in your writing. We all do. That's what graders are here for: to help you work out those kinks so you can improve instead of continuing to make the same mistake. We're here to help, and if that means waiting a month to get your grade, then so be it. Also remember that we graders have lives outside of the URPG; we can't devote every second of every day to reading stories here in the URPG. If we were getting paid real money, then yeah, maybe, but we're not. This may seem like it's directed fully towards Jack, and I don't mean for it to be that way; I mean for it to be as a message to not only him, but to other writers in the URPG as a whole (or even outside of the URPG). I apologize if it comes out in a different way.

I don't think anyone here is to blame for this lack of grade. It was originally missed for WWC. Human error. When it's all in one thread like Jack's is, it's easy to get confused like that and think "oh, it's graded already, I don't need to do anything," so it gets looked over. That initial first post about requesting a grader because the story had been overlooked for some time is fine. It's the comments that followed that were completely and totally unnecessary. I can't speak for other graders, but I know that I haven't been much for grading lately because I'm literally in the process of transferring from one school to another. I just graduated community college and have been in the process of making sure my grades stay high and that I don't fuck anything up at my new school. Grading a story is the last thing on my mind. That said, myself (even though I just did), nor any other grader, should feel like they have to justify themselves because it takes two months for a grade.

If you want a quick, minimal feedback grade, just say that in your post. I'm sure someone will give that to you. If you want a more in-depth, thorough grade, say it. Someone will probably give it to you. If you say nothing at all, the grader's probably just going to give you a typical grade that hits the basics points of your story's rank and give you your grade, done deal. Every grader is different, be patient with us.

Also probably unnecessary comment about how I waited 3 months for a Houndour that I posted a story for 12 days after I posted my stats page. I was a new member, and I waited 3 months for a Houndour. Just sayin'.
