It's taken me a long time of searching to get to this point, but here I am, back at where I started from. The 20th anniversary hit me emotionally hard. Watching the Twitch movie marathon last weekend reminded me how much I truly miss the Pokemon world and my journey through it. It's been 4.5 years since playing one of the games... and the URPG (actually playing it) about 6 years.

Anyway, in an effort to improve myself, I'll be playing Pokemon again. That means the URPG too, you lucky guys you!! Sorry for all my bothersome questions, but it has helped me achieve the moment of clarity that I much needed. I understand everything now. Thank you.

I am almost always on and available to message anytime. If you ever need a forth for a Contest, I'll be there. Battles.... maybe. You'll have to convince me first, heh. ... Uh huh. I spent most of my time with contests cleaning up after you. And I managed to get to the point were contests were often more common than battles. But please, tell me how I've failed the section and how much better you did with it. I'm sure @WinterVines would also love to hear how much better you could be doing.

Are there really contests! The only contests I see are festivals every now and then. Wished contests were more common. The problem is, people prefer battling over contests. If only contests were popular...

We've had very recent stints where contests occur more often than even battles, and we haven't even had a festival in a year or so as far as I can tell? Contests comparatively are thriving, and if you want to have one pretty much all you need to do is ask on the Discord chat, the few times I see it fails is when everyone is afk or focused on big irl events that take everyone's attention anyways.

It makes a lot more sense if you know the history behind it. He was the head of contests a few years back.

Before ATF, it's true that contests weren't too active and it is technically true that he did increase the activity. However, he did so by creating a new form of contests that was effectively just battles and basically making the other contest types even worse (iirc he removed the contest credit payouts to RSE/DPPt contests at one point).

When SLC took over, he tried to restore some degree of balance to the contest types. He had some pretty cool ideas as well, but wasn't around long enough to finish them.

When I took over, I tried to return the activity to RSE (and DPPt) contests until ATF's form is actually more than just a battle (90% of the time). Siless contributed a very cool idea that has been implemented since then as well, though not really used. Winter and I have been spending a lot of time updating and moving threads and A LOT of correcting mistakes or just plain horrible formatting from ATF. If you look at the logs from certain periods of time (mostly in February iirc), the number of contests is about equal to, if not greater than, the number of battles.
