Mako (Alolan Vulpix, Houndour, Seadra, Aipom, ???) vs oribhel (Magnemite, Beldum, Tyrunt, Karrablast, Pineco, Piplup)

Misses and a crazy Freeze roll made Magnemite pretty ineffective against Alolapix, and Tyrunt lost its Ancient Power boost pretty quickly to Seadra's superior power. Things snowballed in Mako's favor from there.

SE thought it was a randoms battle and Gold did not; the end result was a bunch of weird and wacky matchups. Most of Gold's Pokemon were taking two down with them between the bad matchups and Gold's plays.

Gold zigged and zagged, leaving SE pretty unbalanced for most of the battle. SE let Mimikyu get set up in favor of clearing hazards and surrendered before the inevitable sweep.

Private! Preview! Randoms! Both players rolled pretty good teams, with Gold's deck noticeably getting stacked with Kyogre. Azumarill walled most of SE's team once Alolachu was eliminated, and Gengar and Kyogre cleaned up.

Dash (Gengar, Lucario, Chandelure, Greninja, Metagross, ???) vs SinnohEevee (Garchomp, Greninja, Gengar, Houndoom, Meowstic, Arcanine)

Not having good physical moves cost a Justified Lucario a lot of utility, but it ended up not mattering much. Once Dash took Greninja by way of Metagross walling, it was pretty well over.

This was an object lesson in the perils of randoms. Scizor switched out in the face of a Swords Danced Gliscor, which then managed to set up with Agility. Once Gliscor got set up, none of Gold's Pokemon could even tag it.

Gold (Incineroar, Bibarel, Crobat, Hydreigon, Mamoswine, Politoed) vs Xali (Salamence, Galvantula, Sceptile, Crobat, Heliolisk, Rotom Heat)

Both sides put up a valiant fight, with Incineroar forcing a lot of switches with its type advantage and dying to maintain send order, and Salamence throwing up a Substitute to take a Draco Meteor from Hydreigon. In the end, it came down to a weakened Mamoswine up against a Galvantula that was packing Grass-type attacks.
