After the blue shading disappears and the Protect orb fades, you and Gallade find yourselves at the very tip of Mount Oktori. A fearsome looking Pokemon is there - one of the worst matchups possible for your Psychic-type friend.

Ash was experiencing a severe case of nausea after Teleporting so many times and ending up on the very top of the mountain. As he tried to look around without getting more sick than he already was, he noticed a faintly visible ghostly Pokémon floating towards them. Ash was really regretting not wearing a jacket now, he thought he might have caught a cold and the chilling nature of their new opponent didn't help much.

Ash reached into his bag and grabbed an item from his bag that looked like a miniature Clefairy and handed it to Gallade. Ash whispered in Gallade's ear, "Use Psychic to make this PokéDoll float around and distract Froslass, then send it flying off into the distance so Froslass can follow it."

Gallade obliged and a blue outline appeared around the doll, as well as Gallade's eyes glowing blue. The doll then floated up into the air to hover right in front of Froslass. It then circled the ghost several times, making Froslass dizzy trying to keep up with it. Once Gallade could be sure that Froslass was interested in it, he hurled it off the mountain and watched the dizzy Ghost type float after it. Ash quietly told Gallade, "Good, now before it gets back let's Teleport back to base camp."

Gallade and Ash held hands one final time and the familiar but still sickening feeling of being squeezed through a narrow pipe engulfed the pair of them, affecting Ash more because he was less used to it and had less control over the process. Although it felt like an extremely long time to him, it was only a few seconds later that they appeared in front of the judging tent. Ash reached into his bag again and pulled out a cookie and a small pouch with powder inside of it. He turned around so Gallade couldn't see and poured the Energy Powder onto the Lavacookie, then turned back to Gallade and said, "You did a great job on that run, have a cookie!"

Gallade happily accepted the cookie and ate it slowly, enjoying every bite of the warm delicacy. When he was finished, he realized that it had tasted slightly more bitter than normal Lavacookies do and questioned Ash about. Ash replied, "Alright, I'll admit it. I put some Energy Powder on that Lavacookie, but only because I want you to be healthy. Here, have the other Lavacookie with nothing on as an apology cookie. Gallade gratefully accepted the other cookie and ate it even slower than the first, savoring every second of the delicious treat. Ash decided to try the other Energy Powder to see if it would help with his new cold, knowing that any unused items would be confiscated when the run ended anyways. He quickly spit back out the extremely bitter powder, realizing why Gallade was mad at him for tricking him. Gallade laughed at the sight and forgave him.

When they were done enjoying their snacks, they walked hand in hand into the judging tent and presented the person waiting inside with the Park Ball containing Machop to be judged, as well as the unused items: two empty Park Balls, two Super Balls, a Hyper Ball, and a partially used pouch of Energy Powder. The judge said slightly harshly, "You're lucky you know, we're only accepting entries for a little bit longer."

The PokeDoll floats around the Froslass and the ghostly Pokemon is distracted by the toy. It starts poking at the doll, trying to figure out how it was levitating. It only realises the trick at the very second you and Gallade Teleport back to base camp.
