OOC: @BlazeMaster Gender for Dwebble here?

    BP#2 (Vs. Dwebble Post 2)

    Garchomp was naturally quick, but as soon as it approached for Dual Chop, Dwebble came up with a comparable speed. They met in the middle of the room, and when Garchomp slammed its claw down for the first chop, Dwebble had slid to the side and jumped for its own attack. It met with the claw in midair; the collision was hard enough to break Dwebble's rock off completely, though the sheer force of it knocked Garchomp back a slight bit as well. Garchomp wasn't fazed in the least by the blow; it charged and attacked with its claw a third time. The slash didn't connect cleanly (only hitting a couple legs), but it had to hurt the now defenseless Dwebble.

    The Bug-type Pokémon had landed in between Blaze and his Garchomp. At first it seemed to be cowering, but then there appeared to be a transparent shell around Dwebble. After the previous blow, it must have realized how badly its defenses dropped from Shell Smash, and was trying to fix it as quickly as possible.

    @Siless; Male Dwebble

    I watched as Garchomp ran towards its opponent extremely quickly. However, as Garchomp chopped down, the Bug-type slid to the right. Dwebble's increased speed was phenomenal, it would seem. As the Land Shark Pokémon's second chop rained down Dwebble jumped in the air, meeting the Dual Chop with an attack of its own. It seemed that Dwebble had converted the slide into a Dark-type Faint Attack, which I hadn't seen a Dwebble use before. Garchomp stumbled back a bit from the force of the attack, but Dwebble was thrown back even further, him and his shell flying in different directions. Dwebble was vulnerable now, my plan had worked. Garchomp then sprang into the air and landed in from of its opponent, slashing with its claw, hitting Dwebble's legs. Even though this hadn't been my intended plan Dwebble's legs were now weak, and it might not be able to move quite as quickly as it had previously.

    I think that at that moment Dwebble realised how defenceless it was, for, at that moment, it crouched, curling up into a ball. An almost invisible shield formed where Dwebble's rock had been. Dwebble was using Withdraw, it would seem. This was the first time that I had seen the move used without the Pokémon having something to withdraw to, I must tell my friend Airik about this phenomenon, he was a professor and naturally interested in such things.

    Now, however, I had to think. Dwebble had a raised defense, but it was just as fast as before. There was no way that I could risk Garchomp's more powerful attacks in here, they would destroy the room, and maybe the facility. I had to use an attack that would work well in destroying Dwebble's defense and deal a lot of damage.

    "Garchomp, I want you to use Brick Break on Dwebble's new shell. Once you've destroyed that use Dragon Rush on Dwebble!" I commanded. Brick Break had worked well for me in the past, and Dragon Rush was one of Garchomp's most powerful attacks. If I could pull it off well then I was sorted for a capture.

    BP#3 (Vs. Dwebble Post 3)

    With Dwebble's physical defense more normalized, it was ready to turn to the offensive. Garchomp again approached, this time for his Brick Break attack, but Dwebble was ready to fight back. As Garchomp slammed down towards the bug with its claw, Dwebble jumped up and attacked with his own; the two attacks collided in mid-air, halting both of them. It was amazing seeing Dwebble be able to defend itself against a Garchomp, but all of its offensive power had to go to defending against Garchomp; it didn't seem to have enough strength to actually hit Garchomp in the process.

    With the Bug-type stopped in mid-air, Garchomp lets loose a burst of blue energy and charge, striking Dwebble hard and knocking it to the ground once more. It seemed to be worried at this point, but in its claws it began to form a glowing orb of some sort; even outmatched, it wasn't going to give up without a fight.

    @Siless;

    Garchomp ran forward, his fist high in the air. As he slammed it down Dwebble jumped up. The Bug-type crosses his arms in an X-Scissor shape and collided with Garchomp's glowing claw. Both Garchomp took a step back as he regained his balance after the attacks had hit. Dwebble was sent flying into the air and Garchomp took the advantage, coating himself in blue energy and ramming himself into Dwebble. That attack had hit hard and soon it looked like the battle would be over. Dwebble stared at its opponent, its eyes filled with rage. The Pokémon formed a small orb in its hands and fired it up in the air. The orb exploded near the ceiling of the auditorium and stones toppled to the floor around Garchomp, forming a neat circle. Dwebble had used Stealth Rock, a move that damaged other Pokémon as they entered the scene.

    I thought for a moment. I didn't want to hurt the Dwebble much more, but it still needed a bit of tiring out before I could capture it. Attacks like Brick Break and Dragon Rush would be too powerful, I needed to go for something weak. A fire attack would go well as, despite Dwebble being half Bug-type, it was also half Rock-type, which meant that the two types would balance each other out. The auditorium was still a bit foggy, but I felt it starting to clear. Maybe by the end of this battle I might be able to see properly

    "OK, Garchomp, use Sand Attack and follow up with a Fire Fang on Dwebble!" I ordered. Fire Fang wouldn't deal too much damage but it would weaken Dwebble sufficiently.

    BP#4 (Vs. Dwebble Post 4)

    Sand Attack was one of the most annoying attacks possibly ever conceived by human or Pokémon minds. It was a simple move; smack sand into the opponent's face to ruin their vision and lower accuracy. This was immensely frustrating both for the Pokémon (getting sand caught in your eyes is highly undesirable) and for the Trainer (half of your Pokémon's moves missing is similarly not wanted). I was just thankful I wasn't on the receiving end of the attack.

    Upon being hit by the Sand Attack, Dwebble stumbled and dropped the orb it was carrying; the orb shattered, scattering slivers of stone throughout the battlefield that seemed to disappear into midair. Garchomp charged through the minefield, fangs flaring up in flame. As it ran, the stones reappeared as Garchomp passed them, scratching against it and disappearing again. Garchomp didn't seem to care much; its rough skin must have repelled most of the damage away. The Dragon-type drove its flaming fangs into the 'cowering' Dwebble. Dwebble didn't seem to be able to take much more, but it wasn't running, at least yet.

    OOC @Siless; you didn't add any CC after the last post

    Garchomp launched the Sand Attack at Dwebble, throwing Sand into the Pokémon's eyes. In its blindness Dwebble dropped the glowing orb, the bright ball shattering on the floor as if it were made of glass. Slivers of stone flew into the air and seemed to dissolve in the oxygen. I thought that I knew what this meant. I could not switch out now, or Stealth Rock would damage my team. Garchomp's mouth turned into a pit of flame and he ran towards Dwebble. Strangely the Stealth Rocks reappeared, gouging Garchomp's sides. Garchomp went on unpeturbed, showing his massive unparralleled strength. Dwebble crouched down, and the transparent shell formed once again over the small Pokémon. Garchomp bit down, mostly hitting the shell it would seem, but as he stood up and looked down at the smaller Pokémon the Dwebble looked tired. I should probably not attack the Pokémon now, as it was far to weak after so many attacks.

    I looked at the Dwebble. Did I really want to capture it? It had done a good job evading Garchomp's attacks and even doing some damage to the much stronger Pokémon. I took out my Pokédex and looked it up.

    Dwebble, the Rock Inn Pokémon. Dwebble live in their shell all of their life, repairing it when it gets damaged and will only get a new one if the original is irrepairable. They are very protective of their homes.

    Well, a fat lot of good that was. I had to use my own judgement. It was a powerful Pokémon and I wanted to capture it. I took out the Park Ball, a sphere that had served me so well in the past, and pressed the centre of it, starting the capture mechanism. I threw it in the air, watching the orb twist anti-clockwise along with the top-spin that I had given it. It smacked into Dwebble, opening up and turning the small Pokémon into plasma and swallowing it up. It rolled on the floor and I wondered whether I would capture it.

    @Siless;

    The Ball rolled on the ground and made a pinging noise. Dwebble had been caught! I heard a slight tinkle as the Stealth Rocks fell to the ground and dissolved into the air. My ranger walked into the cebtre of the auditorium and grabbed the Park Ball, putting it in his bag.

    "So you caught a Dwebble. Whenever we finish, you'll be able to go and pick it up and whatever else you got at the outpost. If you got anything before, Ivy will have placed them there in case you want to claim something from when she was here," He said, placing the ball in his bag.

    "I would suggest we head back out into the hall, make a decision from there. We have a good amount of choices," Siless replied.
    We walked out into the hall again, leaving the auditorium behind us. A spherical Pokémon that looked a lot like a Poké Ball rolled down the corridor in front of us, saying its name. According to these ramblings it was a Voltorb.
    "Do you want to follow this guy?" my ranger asked.
    "I'm fine thanks," I replied. "Voltorb was never that high on my priority list. If we can't get away I'll use a Poké Doll."

    I watched the Voltorb roll on, unperturbed by the rude pair that had disturbed his passage. The PokéBall-like Pokémon looked bored as it trundled along the corridor.

    We walked on, and came up to a door. We both stood still, listening to the strange noise that eminated from it. Siless turned around to open the door and wrenched it open. I looked into room.

    The place looked like a classroom, with a couple of tables arranged around the centre. In the centre flopped a fish with red scales and strange yellow wiskers.

    “Hey, Blaze, want a Magikarp?” Siless asked.

    "I'm fine thanks, I already have a Gyrados," I replied. "If it flops after us, I'll use a Poké Doll,"

    Blaze passed on the Magikarp. Apparently, he already had a Gyarados, and I could see why one wouldn't want to train up a Magikarp to get another. While Gyarados was useful, it had glaring weaknesses, and having a second on a team would get it easily wiped out by Electric attacks; it would be more efficient to focus the training on the first Gyarados to make it more usable.

    As I began to back away from the door to find another Pokémon, the Magikarp bounced off my face and splashed down the hall. When I came out of my fish-induced haze, I found I was staring down a Mienfoo. The Fighting-type Pokémon appeared to have thrown the Magikarp at me, and seemed ready for more, taking a pose that reminded me of various karate-based movies we had back at base.

    @Siless;

    As we turned to go away from the room, the Magikarp leapt up into the air, straight towards Siless. The wet orange fish slapped into the rangers face, as if in a challenge. I laughed as the usless Pokémon flopped back onto the floor, passing its unhappy time. We turned around to find a Mienfoo standing there. He had a yellow body with red, saggy arms. His face was deep in concentration, with its yellow whiskers and small eyes. It seemed like the Fighting-type Pokémon had thrown the fish at Siless. It crouched down in a stereotypical fighting gesture, beckoning to the Ranger with one hand.

    “If you want this guy, I'd get working on it. Mienfoo looks like it's ready for a fight,” Siless said, a red mark appearing where the Magikarp had hit. I had to take this fight, both for the amazing catch available and to restore Siless' honour. I turned to face the Mienfoo, looking straight into its sharp face. It had tiny ears like those of a fox that twitched as I spoke.

    "Alright, Mienfoo, I'm the trainer around here. I'm the boss, and you fight me!" I said aggressively. The Pokémon looked indifferent as I decided what to do, still staying in its position. The obvious choice of Pokémon to use was Honchcrow, but in this narrow area it would be a sitting Ducklett to Mienfoo's attacks.

    "How about this, let's fight Fire with Fire. Infernape, start off with a Thunder Punch on this nuisance!" I commanded, selecting the correct Poké Ball from my selection. The capsule opened, revealing Infernape, the Fire Monkey Pokémon leaping into the air with its flaming mane drifting behind it. The Pokémon cloaked its fist with electricity and ran towards Mienfoo, swinging the punch straight towards it.

    Infernape charged towards the Mienfoo with a charged fist. Mienfoo's eyes flashed as soon as Infernape came into punching range; the Fighting-type ducked the punch itself, but it didn't go too far, and bolts of lightning from the Thunderpunch scraped against Mienfoo's back. Mienfoo whispered towards its opponent, and I could see Infernape starting to flare up in response; whatever Mienfoo was doing, Infernape was not happy with it.

    Mienfoo backed away from the Infernape and continued its verbal assault, clearly enjoying the whispered taunts coming from its lips. I figured it would probably wait for Infernape to land the first blow; I wasn't sure if Mienfoo wanted to beat Infernape with its reactions, or simply wanted to pester it throughout the battle. Either way, it seemed to know what it was doing, and though no real damage was caused, it didn't look like a good start for Blaze.

    @Siless; Female Mienfoo

    Infernape came running at his opponent, his fist cloaked in lightning. Mienfoo's eyes flashed and narrowed to a flinty expression and as the Fire Monkey Pokémon swung his fist Mienfoo. The ThunderPunch traveled over the Fighting type's yellow back, the yellow electricity scraping along its body. That attack hadn't worked very well and had done minimal damage. Better luck next time, I guess. The two Fighting Pokémon stayed close for a while as Mienfoo murmured in its strange, Pokémonic language. Infernape's face took on an angered expression and his eyes hardened with fury. It seemed that Mienfoo had used Taunt, which prevented non-attacking moves to be used in a battle. I knew that this wouldn't perturb us, however, as I wasn't planning on playing nicely.

    Mienfoo stepped back and started laughing at Infernape, barking in a high pitched voice. It then continued to whisper. Infernape gave a cry of rage and seemed to be losing it. It was like the Wimbledon finals yesterday, Mienfoo was getting the psychological advantage while Infernape's mind was closing down. I had to do something quick, something that would satisfy Infernape's anger. I looked at the Pokémon that had once stood so proudly, now reduced to this fragile structure of fury.

    "Don't worry, Infernape! Listen to the Pokémon, it's prepubescent!" I called at Infernape. "Let's trip it up with a Grass Knot and then show it a testosterone-powered Mach Punch!"

    I didn't want Infernape to deal any major damage until it regained some self-control, and this would give Infernape a chance to satisfy itself. I remembered the last time that Infernape used Grass Knot.

    It was the finals of the Fighting Pokémon pageant of Sinnoh, and Infernape was facing off against a Conkledurr. Both Pokémon were tired and I needed a strategy to end this battle quickly. The Conkledurr's trainer barked out a command.

    "Conkledurr, finish this off with a Dynamic Punch!" the trainer ordered. Conkledurr raced forward, his fist glowing red. If Dynamic Punch hit then this would be the end.

    "Infernape, just use Grass Knot," I commanded calmly. Infernape's eyes glowed green and a root formed in front of Conkledurr's feet. The root tripped up the large Fighting type and it sprawled on the floor, knocked out.

    Again Infernape's eyes glowed green. I hoped that this worked.

    BP#6 (Vs. Mienfoo Post 2)

    Infernape's eyes began to glow a bright green as long blades of grass pierced through the floor and wrapped themselves around Mienfoo's legs. The blades pulled down on the Fighting-type, but Mienfoo refused to move; Grass Knot strained its legs, but it was still standing and ready for battle. It just was stuck. Blaze's opponent had no chance of moving without taking more damage or just falling, but at the moment, it didn't seem to care much.

    Infernape flared up and attacked with blinding speed. It seemed as though it instantly got to Mienfoo, but Infernape's fist bounced off a red barrier. Mienfoo had its arms out, creating a field that specifically repelled the speed of Mach Punch. It seemed its primary concern was with annoying Infernape and Blaze. It still hadn't used an actual attack though, and while bound, it didn't seem like it could. Anything could happen still, though.

    @Siless;

    Grass came up from the floor of the research building, seemingly out of nowhere, and wrapped themselves around Mienfoo's ankles. The Fighting-type Pokémon kept standing as the plants slowly worked their way up her legs, gripping tightly. I was impressed, Mienfoo barely flinched. It could not deny, however, that it was well and truly stuck. For now it could not move until the grass relaxed its tight grip on Mienfoo's legs. Now the second part of my plan came into action.

    Infernape leapt into the air, rushing with blinding speed towards Mienfoo, its fiery mane streaming behind him. His fist glowed white and seemed to propel him forwards, up to the point where he was about a foot from the trapped Mienfoo. The Fighting-type stretched out its arms dramatically until it was in a spread-eagled position. A red barrier formed in front of Infernape and he bounced off, the barrier dissolving into the air. Mienfoo had used Quick Guard, an irritating move that prevented moves like Mach Punch that had increased priority from working. This Pokémon was irritating for certain, I just needed to find a way around it. Now that Mienfoo was stuck he couldn't dodge Infernape's attacks, so we could strike a powerful blow now, if we so wanted. However, most of Infernape's attacks had effects that bounced back on the user, and it was still early in the battle and we had to be patient. There was one attack, however, that would work well against Mienfoo. I remembered this from an early experience in the Park with a Machop, when Infernape was just a Chimchar.

    Chimchar nodded and stared into the eyes of Machop. Then Chimchar looked to his left and noticed a large rock, in which he could take off from. Chimchar turned to his left and ran towards the rock. He planted his right foot on the rock and took off into the air. As Chimchar was in mid-air, he tucked his legs tight into his body and simply fell towards the Machop. I had never seen this version of Acrobatics before and it was always pleasant to see a new version. Chimchar struck out at the Machop, sending the Pokémon flying, a gash in its waist where the Flying-type move hit.

    "Alright, Infernape, let's use Acrobatics!" I commanded. Infernape jumped onto the side of the corridor and started leaping around Mienfoo. I watched patiently, waiting for him to attack.

    Before I recognized what Blaze was going for, his Infernape had made a leap towards its opponent, going in for a flying strike with all of its weight behind it. Mienfoo had nothing it could do to get out of the way; Grass Knot held it firmly in place, and Detect only worked in the user could move, as all it was was extreme prediction.

    Infernape landed hard on Mienfoo, but while the attack dealt great damage, it ripped apart the Grass Knot that held Mienfoo in place. With as powerful a hit as Acrobatics was, Mienfoo wasn't in any position for an immediate counter attack; instead, it slipped away from Infernape, rushing to the end of the room and proceeding to bounce from wall to wall. Mienfoo seemed to be building speed while bouncing, but even now it wasn't moving slowly, and now that Infernape had landed a couple blows, it seemed the battle was actually starting.

    @Siless; Sorry this has taken so long.

    IC: Infernape slammed into Mienfoo, sending the yellow Pokémon flying. I heard a ripping sound as the Grass Knot that held Mienfoo in place was torn to shreds. Mienfoo quickly regained his balance and bounced from wall to wall, gaining momentum. He looked hurt, Acrobatics was technically a Flying type move and dealt a lot of damage to the Fighting-type Mienfoo. But Mienfoo wasn't giving up. Right now he was using U-Turn, a Bug type move that wouldn't really do much damage to Infernape. Despite the lack of it being a threat he decided to deal with it anyway.
    "Infernape, when the Mienfoo attacks you use Grass Knot again to trip it up. After that follow up with a Fire Spin attack!" I yelled. Infernape's eyes glowed green, preparing for the attack.
