"All right, Dusanek, let’s finish this battle. Use Night Shade!" Alex called. The Gengar needed no encouragement, surely enough -- the Taunt was all that he needed to attack, as well as his trainer's commands, of course. Argent looked at the inflated chest of the Gengar as he puffed up angrily, muttering hotly under his breath. Chimey let out another tinkling laugh, as if she found this amusing, and earned herself a reproachful glance from the Shadow Pokémon. She only found this funnier, and buried her face into Argent's arm to stifle her laughs. The Kirlia also let out a sound that resembled laughing, and Dusanek rounded on her, glowering. He edged backwards, a little scared by Dusanek's hostility, but it seemed that the Gengar didn't care. He put his hands out in front of him forcefully, and his body began to be outlined in three, ever-changing colours -- crimson, cerulean and violet. He focused this tricolour glow into a small orb at the base of his palms, and he made a pushing motion towards the Kirlia, the beam launching at him without delay. The Kirlia, who had still been stepping backwards, had no time to react to this sudden onset of an attack, and was caught by surprise at the speed at which Dusanek had launched the Night Shade.

Next thing he knew, he was being blasted backwards, faster than he had been retreating, and slammed into the ground rather hard. Weak, the Kirlia got himself up, but he still seemed to have the energy to attack -- and, by the look on his face, he would be striking back rather hard. Well, at least as hard as he would be able to manage -- although the flesh was beat, Argent could have bet anything that the mind was still going relatively strong, as was a rather gratifying characteristic of Psychic-types. Kirlia became outlined in a light, spectral blue, and his glow extended down both arms. Lifting his arms upwards like some kind of conductor, Dusanek, for the second time that run, felt himself soaring into the air as Psychic played him like a puppet. Kirlia held him in the air for a few moments, however difficult it may have seemed, but all the while concentrating. After a few moments, she threw both of her arms to her left, and Dusanek was thrown in unison. Crashing into one of the Valley's many rocky walls, Dusanek seemed to have been placed in a lot of pain. Kirlia, also, was not, on the whole, having fun, either. He dropped his grasp on Dusanek, and doubled over, panting. Argent could see, looking at the Kirlia's behaviour, that he was having a tough time out there. It would probably be a good time to attempt a capture for the creature.

Dusanek seemed to have regained his senses by now, as he wasn't staring, infuriated, at the Kirlia any longer. The Taunt had run its course, and Dusanek would probably be able to use some sort of status-inducing move to help Alex capture Kirlia. It was probably necessary at this point, although Argent couldn't really put his finger on why that must be. He shrugged inwardly, just hoping for the best for Alex -- he had already shown signs of wanting to leave the run, although they weren't actually that far in. It had felt like months since this ran begun -- it felt a little on the sluggish side, to be honest, but Argent didn't mind that much. As much as he liked being in the office and working on his papers and the like, he enjoyed staying outside on runs a lot more, even if the weather was a little dim. Speaking of weather, it looked like the rain was finally coming -- small, almost unnoticeable drops began to fall freely to the ground, and Argent knew that it wouldn't be long before they had a torrential downpour on their hands, on top of the conflict that the Espeon had warned them of. Maybe, if Alex wanted to leave, this would be a perfect timing for it -- Argent, however, would have to stay. It was important that he did, as he and he alone would have to resolve the issue at hand. Hopefully, the wild Espeon would be able to help separate them and stop them from destroying Meteor Valley, but its distressed state seemed to suggest otherwise to Argent.

He's getting sort of edgy, Argent, Chimey spoke, as if reading his thoughts -- which she probably was, Argent reminded himself. Doesn't think we ought to be waiting around when there's more important things going on.

We can't help that right now, Argent replied a little too briskly. My first priority's to the trainer, and my second to the issue at hand right now -- since there's no immediate danger, there won't be much harm in not rushing Alex, will there? If we get near, I'll dispatch you and the Espeon to deal with the situation, if Alex decides to stay on after capturing this Pokémon -- which I sort of doubt. With Dusanek heavily damaged and no real way to heal him, he's probably going to depart soon enough. We can handle it then, Chimey. Explain that to the Espeon, will you?

He says his name is Bobert.

"All right, Alex, looks like there's not a lot left you can do -- Kirlia seems pretty damaged right now, so why don't you try a capture?"

"All right, Dusanek, let’s finish this battle. Use Night Shade!" Alex commanded.

The geared up Dusanek started to bounce around the battle field, like a kid in a candy shop. Then Dusanek stopped and started to take a deep breath. Then Dusanek started to create a small orb in hand, however this orb was different to the other orbs he had previously created. This orb was created from three colours: crimson, cerulean and violet. Dusanek formed the tricolours together into the ball and pushed the orb forward. The orb stuck to his hand and the tri-colour light acted as a beam. The beam crashed into Kirlia, sending the psychic Pokemon flying back.

Kirlia managed to get back onto its feet and started to close his eyes. A bright purple aura surrounded the Psychic Pokemon. Then, Kirlia opened his eyes, changing colour from green to purple. It looked like Kirlia was possessed. Kirlia started to wave his hands in the air, like a conductor. Dusanek suddenly started to float through the air, under the control from Kirlia. Then suddenly, Kirlia slammed Dusanek into the ground. After slamming Dusanek into the ground, Kirlia took a few steps back and started to look tired.

"All right, Alex, looks like there's not a lot left you can do -- Kirlia seems pretty damaged right now, so why don't you try a capture?" Argent called out Alex.

Alex nodded and grabbed the Super Ball from his rucksack and held it in his hand. He called out to Dusanek, “Dusanek, I need you to do one more thing for me. You have been amazing throughout this run and let’s top it off with another capture. Use Hypnosis one more time, and then I’ll capture it.”

"Dusanek, I need you to do one more thing for me. You have been amazing throughout this run, so let’s top it off with another capture. Use Hypnosis one more time, and then I'll capture it." Alex sounded pretty confident about what he was going to do -- and that was when the rain poured. Bursting through the clouds, the torrential downpour had finally came, decreasing visibility. However, no-one was to be deterred -- all eyes were intensely focusing on the battlefield, and Argent wondered what was going to happen to an attempt at Hypnosis with all the rain as a distraction. He didn't want to stay out for very long under the downpour, as he'd get soaked to the skin -- however, Chimey had used her psychic powers to put up some sort of kinetic barrier, acting like an umbrella. Outlined in a faint blue, Chimey looked somewhat ghostly, and at least Argent wasn't getting drenched. He found that he was a little less distracted as he looked over to Dusanek, who had closed his eyes at this stage, trying to concentrate on his Hypnosis move so that Alex could capture the Kirlia once and for all. Argent wished that the weather wasn't so poorly, but that really couldn't be helped. He squinted through the droplets, trying to get better visuals on the battlefield.

Dusanek opened his eyes all of a sudden, and Argent noticed that they were glowing brightly, casting their light through the rain that had been clouding their vision. The Kirlia was panicking slightly, and he brought his arms in together, and, before Dusanek could do anything, shot off a Psybeam towards the Shadow Pokémon, the multi-coloured blast striking Dusanek straight in the stomach. Looking pleased with himself as Dusanek was shook from his move, the Kirlia twirled once more in celebration, but Dusanek was not to give up so easily. Glaring at the Kirlia, his eyes erupted once more, becoming outlined in that selfsame multi-coloured energy that had just struck him -- the beginnings of Hypnosis. Letting the waves exude from his eyes, they were guided gently towards the Kirlia, who found them inescapable as they pulsated through his mind, suggesting sleep to him. He collapsed to the floor all of a sudden, now asleep. This was what Alex had been waiting for, apparently enough. Argent watched as his fist clutched more tightly around the Super Ball he had produced, and he wondered when exactly he was going to throw it.

But his question was answered soon enough. Alex flung the Super Ball towards the Kirlia, and the creature gifted with empathy, for once, could not fight back as the capture device swallowed him into its depths. As the Ball fell to the floor, it shook feebly a few times. A ping resounded through the area, and Argent hurried forwards, collecting the Super Ball from the floor.

"Congrats, Alex. D'you want to continue on from here?"

"No, I'm sorry, I just can't. The rain is too bad, and I have to go home and take care of my crazy Arcanine. He's scared of rain or something. BYE." Alex sped off from the area without Argent's guidance, and the ranger simply shrugged, watching him rush off. Argent urged the Espeon and Chimey forwards to follow him, now ignoring the rain. He had to stop a raging war.

And that, everyone, was the end of Alex G. Fisher's National Park run.
