Individual Run: BumbleBee

“My name is Emit, and this is Snapjaw and Archforce, my Houndoom and Mienshao. We are looking for either a Mienfoo or Scraggy, whichever comes first. I have a voice disk for both, but I am thinking about using my Mienfoo disk first. However, let’s just walk around to scope the area out. Excuse me for a moment though,” Emit said to me. Seemed a little weird that he had wanted to scope out the area, since he probably knew the general area. That was just a guess of course, but if he knew Cameron then there was a good chance of it. Either way though, I did manage to find out what he wanted. A Mienfoo, or Scraggy, and I can't say I was surprised, since both were commonly looked for. Though I thought it was a little odd that he wanted a Mienfoo when he already had a Mienshao on hand. And if I was seeing the small amount of info I was given correctly, then it appeared that Emit also already owned a Scrafty. I'm sure he had his own reasons for wanting these two though, but I wasn't gonna bother asking why.

“Alright dude, lead the way. I don’t want to run into any Pokémon now. Let’s just head that way,” Emit said, pointing in the direction he wanted to go. He seemed to have something in mind, or at least a reason why he wanted to go that way.

You don't want to run into any Pokemon? So I guess I can just snap my fingers, and somehow magically no Pokemon will come our way? I can't control it if something comes our way or not, you'll just need to hope that we run into nothing, I thought to myself, and it was true. I couldn't just tell no Pokemon to show up, because I didn't even know where they were hiding. Whenever I was around Pokemon just liked to magically appear. Nothing I could really do though, besides hope that nothing came our way, or else Emit would have a Pokemon he had to contend with. Either way though, I led him along like he asked.

We walked down the snowy terrain of Mount Oktori for quite some time without running into anything. Seems like Emit was getting what he wanted, walking along without encountering a Pokemon, though I still had no clue why. After taking some more steps though I did notice something off in the distance. It was a large, blueish, reptilian looking, Dragon-type Pokemon. Though this was something that by all means shouldn't be hanging around at Mount Oktori, since their natural habitat was Mount Deckbi. It didn't dawn on me right away, but it was perhaps Emit's Pokemon.

"Is this your Druddigon?" I asked Emit, as I pointed at the creature.

He seemed a bit taken back that I wanted to spend time on own to communicate with my Pokémon. He also looked at me withwith the ‘what the fuck’ look on his face when I asked to not run into a Pokémon. It was true that me asking for us not to run into a Pokémon was a bit much since Pokémon here were completely wild and unpredictable and one could not control the movements of these creatures, but we could still try to proceed without coming into contact with one. Though, a Pokemon could just as well run up to me right now and want to battle. Of course if it wasn’t Mienfoo or Scraggy I would deny the challenge, but I would rather not have to run into anything at the moment. I just wanted to focus on finding Snapdragon before looking for another Pokémon to battle. I didn’t want that large red-headed dragon to be getting himself into trouble by fighting Ice types. It was completely risky doing so. I already knew he had finished his task, it had been ten minutes since I had last communicated with him and he stated he was only moments away from completing his task. Knowing him, he wouldn’t immediately come back to me. He would go try to fight something on his way back. If I found him first though, I could prevent that and have him save his energy for the upcoming battle.

I continued scouting the area, surprised that I hadn’t run into him yet. I began to get worried. He couldn’t have gotten far. I let out a sigh of relief as I saw the large, blue, hunchbacked, reptilian creature. His medium-sized wings shaped like thistle leaves were extended out as he roared loudly. His wings always surprised me because they were so small and he was so large. His always glaring eyes looked towards us. Even though he looked angry all the time, he was actually a jolly, over energetic giant. He raised his long right arm and waved it at us. His thick tail, about the size of his wings swung back and forth as he began to approach us. His whole body had sharp jagged points all over, those and his claws. He had sharp objects all over which were extremely useful in battle, especially when the opponent relied on physical contact.
"Is this your Druddigon?" My ranger asked.

“Yeah, that is my Druddigon, Snapdragon.” I said happily. I was glad he hadn’t gone off and started fights with the neighboring Pokémon. I would then probably get in trouble with the park. Not that I cared, but I didn’t want to get kicked off of this island when I still had this mission among others to complete. Then I would have to sneak on and just capture Pokémon ‘illegally’. That was fine with me, but then I would have to move cautiously so they wouldn’t be aware of my presence.

Snapdragon roared extremely loud again once he was a few yards away from us. My ears rung for a few seconds. I had heard him do that many times, but I still hadn’t grown used to it yet. “Okay.” I said turning to my Ranger, “Let’s get moving again. I will use my Voice disk now.” I set my backpack down and pulled out my Pokeplayer. Then I pulled out a large cd case filled with my voice disks. Many were illegally downloaded, but this guy wasn’t going to do anything about it, not that he could, because he couldn’t see them therefore couldn’t know. I pulled out a Mienfoo disk and popped it in.

“Alright, let’s play this crap and see what shows up.” I said to him. I pressed play and waited. I was hoping one would show up, if not then a Scraggy. Either was okay with me. Anything else was just a waste of my time and not worth capturing at this moment. I wasn’t even sure what else there was to capture. The only other thing I wanted from here besides Mienfoo and Scraggy was a Cryogonal, but since I had used Ice type repellant, that wasn’t going to be possible here.

 

“Yeah, that is my Druddigon, Snapdragon," Emit said upon seeing Druddigon. Once he saw this, he quickly reached into his backpack, and pulled out a Voice Disk. He appeared to have a lot of them, more than a normal person should to tell you the truth since you could write over them for a new Pokemon voice. He probably stole all these, since no in their right mind would actually buy them all, but hey I couldn't prove anything so. I was just going to go ahead, and keep doing my job until he either left, or the cops showed up. Whichever came first. The sound that played from his Voice Disk was that of a Mienfoo, one of the two Pokemon he was here looking for. Maybe we'd run into it, or maybe not. I didn't know.

We kept walking along, and now the snow started to come down a little heavier, but hey that was fine with me. My stupid hometown weather was currently seventy degrees, and to me that was pretty warm. This wasn't the time to ramble though, no, because a Pokemon had been coming our way. It was a yellow colored Pokemon. It had round ears, red eyes, black markings above its eyes, a pink nose, with a single whisker on each side. The rest of its body was generally reddish-pink, and yellow. Its arms didn't look like they were uncovered, but rather like it was wearing sleeves. Its legs, as well as the tip of its tail were the same color, leaving the remainder of its body yellow. This was what Emit had been looking for.

"Well, it appears your Voice Disk paid off. Here is that Mienfoo you want. So you can go at it whenever you're ready." I said, while pointing at it. I was surprised, because it appeared that Emit ran into three things in a row that he wanted, though all three probably came because of Voice Disks, but still, once he captured this thing he was no doubt going to leave here. I had only just been called here, and now my time was pretty much nearly done. Oh well, nothing I could do besides see this battle through until the end, and see what Emit had planned.

It wasn’t long before I heard the battle cry that sounded similar to Archforce. I knew it had to be a Mienfoo responding to my voice disk call. "Well, it appears your Voice Disk paid off. Here is that Mienfoo you want. So you can go at it whenever you're ready." My Ranger said.

I looked over and saw the small yellow, bipedal, mustelid-like Pokémon, with round ears, red eyes, round black ‘eyebrows,’ and pink nose with a whisker on each side. Its red arms look similar to flared sleeves, and the paws are a pale yellow. Mienfoo’s chest had a small red band, and its pelt piles around its thighs like a tunic or robe of some sort like those used in the martial arts. Its legs are red, and its yellow tail is also tipped in the color. I already knew quite a bit about this Pokémon. I knew that most were about three to five feet in height and weighted between forty to sixty pounds. They also knew the useful ability Regenerator and the not so useful ability Inner Focus. Some rare, special trained Mienfoo even knew the ability Reckless. They have mastered elegant combos, and as they concentrate, their battle moves become swifter and more precise. In fights, they dominate with onslaughts of flowing, continuous attacks. With their sharp claws, they cut enemies. They knew a lot of good moves too like Hi Jump Kick, U-Turn, and Acrobatics.

I looked over towards my Pokémon. I wasn’t sure who I wanted to use, but I was sure who I was going to use. I knew Snapdragon was edging for a fight, and this was the best place to do that because then he could get out all that energy he had. Using him here would also be good training for us both since I hadn’t used him much in battle. He was also a good choice because all the moves Mienfoo knew, or most of the strong ones anyways required physical contact, which meant that he would get hurt by his spikes. Or at least it would make it harder for him to land harder blows.

“Alright Snapdragon, start this off with Glare. I know you like attacking moves, and you will have the chance to use them, just listen to me. After Glare, hit him with Dragon Tail, we’ll attempt to lower his defense, though the main goal here is to land the blow with great force.” I said to him, patting him on his head. I knew his Sheer Force would not allow the defense to drop in Mienfoo or for it to flee, but at least it would do a big amount of damage. At least as big as a Normal type move can do on a Fighting type Pokémon.

Snapdragon would glare at the Mienfoo and his yellow pale eyes would begin to flash different colors, fluctuating between light red to a dark purple. That would somehow make the wild Mienfoo to be paralyzed. It was some sort of daze that immobilized the opponent. That move itself was interesting. It was like some sort of mind game that messed with the opposing Pokémon. It was a useful move if used properly.

After he used Glare, if all went well, Mienfoo would be immobilized and not be able to strike back momentarily. That is when Snapdragon would use Dragon Tail. His tail would glow dark green as he swung his tail with great force at Mienfoo. Normally, that move would cause the Pokémon to retreat or go back into the Trainers Pokeball, but with Sheer Force, that would be canceled out, at least while Sheer Force was taking charge. I knew he could perform well, but all that planning did not include anything the Mienfoo had in for us. I hoped it wasn’t enough to stop our plan.

 

OOC: Gender?

IC: “Alright Snapdragon, start this off with Glare. I know you like attacking moves, and you will have the chance to use them, just listen to me. After Glare, hit him with Dragon Tail, we’ll attempt to lower his defense, though the main goal here is to land the blow with great force,” Emit commanded. This was an effective way to get a battle rolling. Try to paralyze the Mienfoo, so that in the long run it would be much easier to battle. Afterwards he'd try to damage the thing a bit with Dragon Tail. It seemed like a combo that could work, but I guess only time would tell.

Druddigon got in position, but before it could even do anything Mienfoo jumped into the air, and quickly got a nice kick right against Druddigon's jaw. Mienfoo proved how speedy it could be there with that attack. I believed it was using Jump Kick, a very powerful, but risky move. This was because the user of the attack would put such force behind the attack, that if they missed they would end up crashing, damaging themselves in the process. In this case though Mienfoo seemed to have gotten off the attack perfectly, without risking itself. Striking while Druddigon was trying to prepare its first attack was pretty clever. Of course though it did now leave itself open from behind.

Druddigon shook off the attack, and begun to intimidate Mienfoo. Glare was a move that caused paralysis. In doing this, Mienfoo would become slower, be likely to not get an attack off at times, and be easier to capture once it was weakened. I'm pretty sure the major reason behind Glare being used here was just for the last reason, so that Emit could get through this battle quickly. Glare would work by intimidating the foe with a pattern on the users stomach. Short of Snorlax's stomach though I don't see how any stomach could be intimidating enough to frighten the Pokemon in being paralyzed, but I learned its better to not question anything. Druddigon used the attack, and as Mienfoo turned around it couldn't help but look, which was a costly mistake. Mienfoo was now paralyzed, and a sitting duck.

This was Druddigon's opening. It jumped up in the air, and threw its tail at Mienfoo. This was Dragon Tail. When it was used against another trainer, it would force the Pokemon away, like Roar would, and bring in a new Pokemon. In this case though it would just deal some damage. Druddigon slammed down its tail, but to Mienfoo's credit it managed to avoid the attack a a little, but ultimately in the end, it still got smacked by the tail, and thrown into the ground a little. It got up, not too shaken, but soon enough its paralysis was bound to play a part.

“Great job Snapdragon!” I called out to him. He was sure performing well. He had so much energy so this was the perfect way for him to let out all of that energy. “Next I want you to use Draco Meteor!” Snapdragon roared loudly, acknowledging what I was telling him.

Snapdragon held out one arm in front of him and stretched his other arm over the arm outwards. Then, an orange orb of energy would appear in the center of Snapdragon's stomach and his body would become surrounded in a faint orange aura the same color as a Bouysel. Snapdragon would then open his mouth and a bright orange energy orb appears inside of it. He would then close his mouth over the orb, and fire it immediately straight into the sky. The orb then explodes above it, releasing a ring of orange energy as it does. Multiple smaller orange orbs of energy then explode from the smaller orb and rain down over the battlefield. As the orbs fall, they leave behind trails of darker orange energy, eventually hitting Mienfoo. This was a strong attack, but Snapdragon’s specialty was in Physical attack not Special attack.

IC: Great job Snapdragon! Next I want you to use Draco Meteor!” Emit commanded. He wasn't wasting anytime at all. He had been attempting to go at this Mienfoo at full force, and deal some massive damage in the process. I couldn't say that I could argue with his logic. Most people that entered the park did want to leave as quickly as possible, so that they could go do other things, or visit other areas. And Draco Meteor certainly was a way of doing this, since this was the strongest Dragon-type move out there, obviously excluding Roar of Time since that was something that only Legendaries could use.

It was a good thing we were outside, because if we were in the cave, and Emit tried using this attack, then the comets it summoned to attack would probably crash through the top of the cave, and cause a lot of damage. Of course this didn't REALLY summon comets, it would just seem like it would, but the attack itself was actually Dragon energy. The reason its said it calls on comets, is because the user fires one large ball of energy far into the sky, and as it starts to come back down it would break apart into a bunch of smaller orbs of energy. This didn't always benefit the user in the end though, because in using the attack it would make the users Special Attack drop drastically afterward. I guess that didn't matter all that much to Emit though, since Druddigon was more of a Physical Attacker anyway.

Druddigon formed an orb of energy from the center of its body, which was a shade of orange in color. It then took this orb, and put it at the area of its mouth, before firing it into the air. When the orb exploded in the air, it started to release some smaller orbs, which, while they too were orange in color, reminded me of hail, though maybe that was only because of where we where. The orbs rained down, and though it tried to dodge it, ultimately Mienfoo's paralysis caused it to be forced to remain there, and take the attack head on. It caused the poor weasel to be slammed down into the snow, where it remained for a minute, or two. It did get back up though, and went to attack back.

It threw itself at Druddigon as best it could, having one of its hands held to the side like it was going for a chop. The Dragon-type Pokemon couldn't do much about this though, because while Mienfoo was moving slow due to being paralyzed, it was still trying to catch its breath from attacking. It took a chop right across the back of its neck during this. Mienfoo had used Brick Break, another one of its notable Fighting-type moves, though this one seemed to do some real damage since Druddigon had been vulnerable. Both Pokemon were now somewhat worn, though based on how they looked I would say that Emit still had an edge here with his Pokemon.

"Awesome job Snapdragon! Use Dragon Claw to finish this battle up." I called to the large dragon beast with short wings. This battle didn't last as long as I thought it would. I figured it would take more effort to capture this guy than I was actually putting out for this battle. That was all fine with me though, I wanted an easy and quick fight. I wasn't quite bothered by this, as long as this battle finished before Headstrong arrived and caught up with us and finished his task.

I reached into my bag and pulled out a Smoothing Fragrance Max. I released the fragrance that was held inside the small vile. That substance inside was supposed to calm Mienfoo down enough for me to capture it, or at least make it much easier for me to do so. After that I also removed a Hyperball from my bag and enlarged it. Snapdragon at this time had his right and left claws glowing dark red. They also grew about twice their size. He then charged at Mienfoo, arms stretched out on both sides. He was going to slash out hard at the Fighting type. After he did that, I intended to throw my Hyperball.

 

OOC: I can tell. Also had forgotten to roll for an Apricorn with Timburr, so that's why there is two at the end there now.

IC: "Awesome job Snapdragon! Use Dragon Claw to finish this battle up," Emit commanded. He was hoping to wrap things up with one more attack, and then I assumed he'd end up throwing one of the balls he brought along. It was possible, but at the same time it still might take another hit, depending how much Dragon Claw would do. Granted Druddigon was powerful, but I wasn't sure if it had that much power at its disposal.

Druddigon got into position, and started to focus on its claws. Its claws began to sharpen, and turning blue, or dark red, it varied. in color. This was what Dragon Claw was. It was just your standard attack, that would attack with sharp claws. Druddigon jumped at Mienfoo. The little weasel put its arms in front of its face, but that did nothing, as Druddigon just clawed it in the stomach, and then across the face when Mienfoo stuck its arms at its stomach, to try to rub off some of the pain. It was in bad shape now though, but it did seem like it had some fight left in, but Emit looked to remedy this.

He pulled some sort of spray out from his bag. It was no doubt a Fragrance, which made Pokemon a little easier to capture. If I had to guess, I would say it was a Soothing Fragrance Max, since that was the highest level of Fragrance that could be used against a Mienfoo. He sprayed it in the surrounding area, and when he did Mienfoo looked a little weaker now. Emit at this point also pulled out a Hyper Ball from his bag, and threw it at Mienfoo. Hyper Ball was the best choice here, because it was the ball most likely to secure a capture. It sucked the Mienfoo in, but to the little guys credit it put up a fight while in there. In the end though it was captured.

"Good going Emit," I said, as I walked over to pick up the ball. "I know you already have two caught Pokemon, and you had said the only thing else you wanted was a Scraggy, or Mienfoo, but I need to ask anyway. Now that you have three caught Pokemon, do you plan to stay, or will you take these guys and leave?" Not that I didn't already know the answer, but still park rules were park rules, and I needed to ask just in case.
