"L-let's get out of here, Alpha. I don't want to get us hurt out here." Roulette said.

Alpha too the lead in escorting Roulette out from the place with the Piloswine, who kept on roaring every now and then.

Both of them crept through the creepy dead trees outside of the cavern at Mt. Oktori. They walked hastily on the deeply frozen pond and waited for their next encounter. Suddenly another blue Pokemon rolled its way to Roulette's foot. "Spheal!" it cried.

"Another Spheal, awesome." Alpha rolled his eyes in disappointment. He knew that Roulette was going to skip this Pokemon because he skipped the first one earlier.

The huge Piloswine roared again as I followed Alpha around it. We crept around until finally we were a safe distance away from it. We continued walking through the dead trees, and occasionally their branches would snap off in the harsh wind.

The wind was still ferocious. It never seemed to die down at this height of the mountain, and I was constantly covering my face with my scarf and hands. Snow filled the air around us, and stuck to our clothes. My tired Houndoom trekked on through the rough weather, breathing small Embers onto the ground in front of him, melting the snow. He kept a vigilant eye out all the time, looking for threats.

Suddenly, Alpha and I heard a familiar noise. The same rolling noise we had heard earlier was making itself present again, and another bluish-white pokemon popped onto the road ahead.

"Another Spheal, awesome." said Alpha sarcastically. He seemed about as excited about this pokemon as I did.

"Yeah, there seem to be a lot of them up here," I said, looking the familiar pokemon over. "I still don't need one though, let's go."

"Yeah, there seem to be a lot of them up here," Roulette agreed, walking over the Spheal.

"I know right!?" Alpha sarcastically shouted, walking over the Spheal as well.

"I still don't need one though, let's go." Roulette insisted as both of them walked deeper in the mountains. Suddenly the blizzard was getting harsher every time Alpha and Roulette took a step. Eventually they passed the large frozen pond until a triangular Pokemon appeared in front of them.

"Snorunt," it faintly cried out its name.

"Gunna battle it?" Alpha whispered to Roulette's ear.

We stepped past the Spheal, paying little attention to the funny little pokemon. I looked back at it once we had walked down the road some more, and it kept on its merry way, rolling into the distance. It must've liked the frozen ponds around this area.

We continued on, but the weather was getting increasingly bad. The snow was going nuts all around us, slapping my face with its icy hands. My very bones seemed to shiver as I walked through the deepening snow. I half expected Alpha to call off the run, but he seemed to want to keep going through the horrid blizzard.

I felt as if I was taking a full power Ice Beam attack from a Lapras right now. I could barely keep myself moving, and with each step I took, my morale seemed to sink. I almost wanted to tell Alpha that I was done, and we could go back to the base of the mountain, but I had paid already, plus I needed mons. I wasn't settling for just a Machop. There were certain pokemon that I came to Mt. Oktori for, and I wasn't leaving without them.

After thinking this, I was encouraged to keep on going. I pulled my feet out of the snow with force now, and hurried as we trekked to the summit. To our right I saw yet another frozen pond. There were rocks around it, and a lot of the familiar dead trees were sitting on its bank, unmoving. Suddenly a little pokemon popped its head out from behind a rock. It was pointed and tan, with a black face. It reminded me of a tent.

"Snorunt?" it said, looking at Alpha and me.

A Snorunt! This was the main pokemon that I wanted to bring back with me from my run. I was ecstatic at this point, and I looked at Houndoom, who looked extremely tired. He was panting hard, exhausted from walking through the deep snow.

I heard the snow crunching behind me, and I turned to see Alpha approaching me. He leaned over to me and said, "Gunna battle it?"

I didn't have to think twice. "Oh yeah! This is the pokemon I've been looking for. Houndoom, you look pretty tired. How about a break?" I asked Houndoom. He seemed gracious, so I put him back into his pokeball. I thought of the other pokemon that I had brought with me, and decided that Infernape would be a good choice for the situation. "Come on out, Nape."

My flaming monkey came out of his pokeball, stretching his joints out. He cracked his neck and then prepped for battle. He liked battling more than any other pokemon I owned, and didn't like being crammed in his ball all day.

"Ok, Nape, you can take this one. I want you to use Fake Out before it can pull anything!" I said to Infernape. "Try to rattle her! Get in close for a cheap shot! I want you to act like you're using Thunderpunch, but then switch to something else. Maybe she won't see it coming."

Infernape popped his neck and looked back at me, nodding. He smirked and rushed over to the Snorunt. He raised an electrically charged fist and swung at the tiny pokemon, but stopped mid swing. Then he raised his other fist, preparing to surprise the Snorunt. I watched, hoping my plan would work out.

"Oh yeah! This is the pokemon I've been looking for. Houndoom, you look pretty tired. How about a break?" Roulette grabbed his Pokeball and retrieved Houndoom back inside it. Suddenly he grabbed another ball that was identical to the one earlier, but this time, it revealed an ape-like Pokemon with a flaming head that looked like a torch.

"Ok, Nape, you can take this one. I want you to use Fake Out before it can pull anything! Try to rattle her! Get in close for a cheap shot! I want you to act like you're using Thunderpunch, but then switch to something else. Maybe she won't see it coming." Roulette commanded as Infernape tilted its head sideways, cracking its bones and dashed towards the innocent Snorunt.

Infernape readied one of its first until yellow electricity enveloped its fist. Trying to punch Snorunt with the Thunder Punch, Infernape suddenly withdrawn from its attack and immediately punched Snorunt directly with its other non-static fist. It tossed Snorunt away from Alpha and Roulette but the brewing breeze carried Snorunt until it stood strong once more.

"Uh-oh, I think its angry," Alpha warned Roulette. But he was still right, though.

A ghostly purple ball formed in front of Snorunt, aiming it directly at the still Infernape. Taking two or three small steps, the Shadow Ball went bigger as well, the energy Snorunt was exerting strengthened as well. "Runt!" it shrieked. The ball was flung in a very speedy manner, it made its way very quickly towards Infernape. Alpha walked a few steps backward and gazed at the immensely powerful Snorunt that attacked Infernape magnificently.

Alpha tapped Roulette on his shoulder, supporting him without words. He knew that Roulette could have a hard time against the Snorunt against the snow that slapped them on their faces. During worst case scenarios, it made their sight worse because Alpha noticed that if Snorunt would go farther away from them, its body would blend with the snow perfectly--it could fool anyone until they attacked.

Infernape's attack landed, but it didn't seem to do much to the Snorunt. The weather conditions were aiding Snorunt, and its ability seemed to be a problem too. Snorunt quickly recovered from the attack, and began forming one of its own. A purple ball of energy formed in front of Snorunt, growing bigger and bigger as the three of us watched. It snowballed until it was bigger than Snorunt, and then it was launched at Infernape. The attack landed much faster than Nape and I anticipated, and it slammed full force into him. The energy given off of the attack wasn't warm as I had expected, but instead was cold and depressing. It seemed to make me feel negative, just by seeing the attack performed.

"Uh-oh, I think its angry," said Alpha, watching the scene unfold. The Snorunt, who had been peaceful earlier, was now staring at Infernape, gritting its teeth.

"I agree," I said to Alpha, not sure what to do next. I had to figure out how to get around this snowy weather. The blizzard-like conditions were making it awfully hard to see the tiny Snorunt, and Nape had a tendency to attack without thinking. Though he attacked on impulse a lot, he was experienced, so the choices he made were usually good ones.

"Okay, Nape, time to do something about this snow. It's making it way too hard to see Snorunt. Alright, can you see where it's standing? I want you to shoot a wide Flamethrower in that general direction, but don't aim it directly at the Snorunt. I want you to try to melt the snow in front of you, and then land a Mach Punch while you can see Snorunt clearly! Sound good?"

Infernape liked the sound of this, and nodded. He gathered flames in his mouth until he could hold no more. His mouth erupted with flames, which shot in a wide range in front of him. The fire blazed through the air, and scorched the ground beneath it. When the flames dispersed, the air was clear and snowless.

"Okay, you've got to hurry before more snow falls, Napey! Land a Mach Punch, hurry!" I shouted.

Infernape cracked the knuckles on one fist, and seemed to fly through the air towards Snorunt. He could see the tiny pokemon perfectly, and he took the opportunity to land an accurate attack. He reared his fist back, and zipped towards Snorunt.

Sound good?" Roulette finally said.

Infernape gritted its teeth, fists rolled tighter and the blaze on its head was stronger than ever. Being rash meant that it the Pokemon would be desperate in either fending off or fainting the Pokemon. Like an ape--a real one, that is--it went wild and yelled its name out. Its smattering tactics could eventually get it to faint as well, the trainer would still be strategic on landing decent hits and attacks.

Its nostrils suddenly snorted a puff of black smoke and gazed in a straight direction, searching for the Snorunt. Alpha pointed its arms at the Snorunt, its brown circular hands weren't able to camouflage through the thick snowstorm. Jumping forward, it opened its mouth and a beam of scorching heat was sent out and went directly at the Snorunt. Icy white snow near Infernape and the Snorunt quickly melted into water. About a two or three mile radius of thick snow was melted into water, creating a small puddle near Infernape and Snorunt. The intense heat of the Flamethrower boiled the ice cold water, but it was still nothing to Snorunt.

Snorunt was shaking desperately, the boiling water around it was instantly getting colder. It looked at the Infernape and a ring of cold water was fired from its mouth and made its way to the currently airborne Infernape and tossed it back to Roulette. "That's a Water Pulse!" Alpha said to Roulette. Though unexpected, Snorunt was still standing strong in the midst of the strong snowstorm that it just stood its way to overcome the cold breezes.

"Okay, you've got to hurry before more snow falls, Napey! Land a Mach Punch, hurry!" Roulette quickly commanded.

Infernape jumped out from the dead tree it landed on, its fist glowed with a bluish white color, readying its fist towards Snorunt.

Before the Mach Punch could reach Snorunt--better yet, before Infernape was halfway near Snorunt--Snorunt covered itself with a green barrier, which was capable from protecting it from any attacks it could land on it. "A Protect! Oh no, the Mach Punch would mean nothing!" Alpha thought out loud, but it was already too late.

Snorunt was just about done covering itself with the green barrier as Infernape hastily landed its glowing arm at Snorunt--it dealt no effect at all. Snorunt stepped out from the small puddle until it turned itself into frozen ice already. "The snowstorm is pretty strong, it could turn water into ice in a matter of minutes or seconds," Alpha thought out loud again.

"A Protect! Oh no, the Mach Punch would mean nothing!" cried Alpha. We watched in awe as Infernape's attack was cut short by the inpenetrable wall. Infernape's powerful fist slammed full force into the defensive barrier, causing Infernape to be thrown back. He flew through the air, fipping backwards while he soared, and nimbly landed on his feet. The one thing that made Infernape such a great battler, was his agility and speed. He could use it to get around his opponents, and land many more attacks than they could.

This Snorunt had a lot of tricks up its sleeves. Not only could it fend off Infernape offensively, but it could put up powerful Protects to block Infernape's attacks. I had to figure out how to use the environment around Nape and me to our advantage, so that I could capture this Snorunt.

I looked around at my surroundings. Almost everything was obscured from our view by the snowstorm, but I could make out the outlines of several dead trees around the Snorunt. The pokemon was just sitting in the snow, and I could hardly see it. It was most likely trying not to be seen, but I couldn't tell. For all I knew, it could've been forming another attack. With this thought, I decided that I should come up with a plan in a hurry.

"Infernape!" I shouted, looking at the trees surrounding Snorunt. "I want you to use your agility for this attack. I want you to leap around from tree to tree, and try to confuse the Snorunt. You can use the snowstorm to your advantage that way, while still getting closer to the Snorunt. When you get close enough to attack, use Shadow Claw to catch it off guard!"

Infernape looked at the trees in front of him, and quickly leapt into the closest one. He perched on a branch, looking a lot like a bird of some kind, and leapt off to another tree. He swapped trees several times, each time getting closer to the target. He was only a tree away from Snorunt now, and with one more leap he could be on top of it. If the plan worked, he would strike the pokemon with a nasty Shadow Claw before the Snorunt could attack.

Infernape jumped from the dead tree with a sharp claw raised. His hand was surrounded with blackish-purple energy that swirled around his palm. His claws were protruding from the end of his hand, which he was holding above his head. I watched as he moved to slash the little pokemon.

"Infernape!" Roulette desperately called out for Infernape. "I want you to use your agility for this attack. I want you to leap around from tree to tree, and try to confuse the Snorunt. You can use the snowstorm to your advantage that way, while still getting closer to the Snorunt. When you get close enough to attack, use Shadow Claw to catch it off guard!"

"Oh no." Alpha bowed his head down, as if he doesn't want to see what would happen.

Infernape glanced over his shoulder, with his back facing Roulette and Alpha. Surprisingly, he ran his way towards Snorunt. "I knew it!" Alpha yelled against the snowstorm. Right now, the storm was making their yells and screams like they were whispering against each other. They needed to shout to the extent of their voices if they want to be heard. "Infernape's speed is incredible! I never knew Infernape could be this agile!" Alpha still tried to shout against the raging storm.

Snorunt intently stayed in place, watching the incoming ape as its left first was imbued with a shadow blob with a purple outline. Suddenly, Infernape's fist turned into a large vicious hand with thick and sharp claws. The breezes gusted over Infernape's flame on its head but apparently, it looked like it didn't mind the icy feeling at all. The contrite Pokemon looked sorry for ignoring the Agility, but it had to do it because it wanted to get rid of the Snorunt quickly. All of a sudden, with a swing, the Shadow Claw struck Snorunt on its chest and was sent flying into the air. Turning around, with the aid of the storm, Snorunt landed safely on the thick snow again.

Angered, Snorunt opened its mouth when a gust of the same winds of the snowstorm was released, making its way into Infernape. The frozen winds of Blizzard threw Infernape off guard and sent it flying towards the opposite direction, back at Roulette. "This can't be good!" Alpha shouted against the storm again.

Just as I finished giving Infernape my commands, I heard Alpha say, "Oh no." I looked at him to see that he was looking down and shaking his head. I wondered what I had done wrong, but when I looked back up at Infernape, I saw.

Instead of going for a tree, he had simply ran straight at Snorunt. He was charging with his large, purple claw raised up, giving Snorunt ample time to prepare for the hit. He must've not heard me because of all the snow and wind. I watched helplessly as he raked his claw across Snorunt, tossing it a few feet, but Snorunt simply landed in the snow with ease. As soon as the Snorunt landed, she directed all the wind and snow around her at Infernape. The powerful Blizzard surrounded Infernape, and sent him reeling. He quickly recovered though, and dusted the snow off of him.

I realized that I had to make sure my commands were getting heard if I was to win this battle. I called Infernape's name, and he looked over at me. "Infernape, come back closer to me!" I shouted. The flaming monkey seemed to understand this, and rushed to where I was standing. The whole time, I was keeping a vigilant eye on the Snorunt, making sure he couldn't escape.

"Infernape, you've got to listen a bit harder in this snowstorm, ok?" I asked him. He didn't seem to be listening much. Instead, he was almost shaking with the urge to fight. "Okay, Nape, I want you to use the most powerful Overheat you can muster, and try to get rid of some of this awful weather. With this brutal snowstorm up, you're attacks are just about useless. Once you've done that, use Stone Edge on the Snorunt. You should be able to send the rocks flying right towards her!"

As soon as the last words had come out of my mouth, Infernape rushed back towards the battlefield. He looked as if he was storing energy. He had an orange aura around him that was getting increasingly brighter, and the flame coming from the top of his head was burning as brightly as I had ever seen it. The fire was blazing, and now came out of his head about five feet up. He closed his eyes and gritted his teeth, and then crossed his arms over his chest. The furious pokemon began emitting a low growl, that climbed in volume until it was a scream. He opened his arms now, and then seemed to explode with fire. It erupted from him in all directions, melting most of the snow in the air.

Now he could see his target again, giving him the opportunity to land a more accurate attack. He raised a powerful leg, and slammed it hard onto the ground again. Pointed rocks shot out of the ground around the fiery beast. He raised his arms, and began moving his hands, controlling the rocks as they swirled in the air. The rocks were spinning around him violently now, and his hands were working furiously. Finally, he reared his hands back, and then shoved them back in front of him, and the rocks followed suit, flying through the air towards Snorunt.

"Okay, Nape, I want you to use the most powerful Overheat you can muster, and try to get rid of some of this awful weather. With this brutal snowstorm up, you're attacks are just about useless. Once you've done that, use Stone Edge on the Snorunt. You should be able to send the rocks flying right towards her!" Roulette tried to shout against the sound of the raging blizzards as well.

Infernape agreed and went closer towards the Snorunt. Aiming directly where the Snorunt was, it held its arms up in the air, fists closed, and it released a large beam of flame towards Snorunt. The hopeless Snorunt just had to watch Overheat came closer to it, hoping that the snowstorm could weaken it down eventually--too bad it didn't happen at all. The Overheat tossed Snorunt backwards, with Alpha and the trainer approaching it so that they could even get a closer look.

The Snorunt, weakened and still tried to get back up, had come up with a good counterattack. It walked slowly at Infernape when it stared at Infernape, its intimading eyes gave Infernape, even Alpha, the chills. A red outline covered Snorunt's body until Infernape's eyes were star-shapped and it danced around in circles--its eyes were crossed and its eyebrows were pointed downwards. It looked angry but its confused, it could use a punch or two.

Desperately trying to attack Snorunt with Rock Slide, almost trying to trip itself over and punched itself in the face. Suddenly Infernape was covered with small rocks that circled in front of him, suddenly he tossed it towards Snorunt, the stones struck Snorunt directly in the body, making it weaker than ever.

"Wow, I think its incredibly weak now." Alpha went closer and examined the Snorunt.

I watched as Infernape blasted Snorunt with fire and rock. The Snorunt didn't take this attack as easily, and seemed to be in a lot of pain. The Snorunt's normally happy expression was replaced with one of anger and pain. The pokemon's tiny little legs could barely hold the rest of her up now, and she struggled in the snow.

"Wow, I think its incredibly weak now," said Alpha, and I agreed with him. I looked at the incredibly tired looking pokemon, and decided that now was the time to attempt the capture.

I dug into my bag while the pokemon was still recovering from the brutal attack, and pulled out my second park ball. I took the ball in my hand, grasping it firmly, and threw it through the blizzard at Snorunt. I watched the ball travel towards it, and hoped that the Snorunt would stay inside.

OOC: You need to fill in the ???s sometime. Mmkay? XD

Roulette dug out into his bag without saying a word and grabbed another Park Ball. Looking at the distance, with the snowstorm trying to become as annoying as ever, Roulette tossed the Pokeball towards Snorunt, which eventlually got inside the Park Ball. It shook three times until it clicked and it shook no more. "Congratulations!" Alpha shouted against the storm. "You caught Snorunt!"

Alpha went closer to the Park Ball and grabbed it, then he approached Roulette and gave it to him like he won an incredible award from an awards night. "You ready to press on?" Alpha was eager to get away from the snowstorm as soon as possible.

OOC: Sure, but how do I do it? lol.

Alpha and I watched intently as the park ball hit Snorunt on the top of her back. She was instantly zapped into the pokeball. It twitched a time or two, and then it was still, and I knew that I had successfully captured Snorunt!

"Congratulations!" Alpha shouted through the Blizzard. "You caught Snorunt!"

I walked over and picked up the park ball that held my prize. I tossed her into my bag, right next to the ball that contained Machop. Now that the thrill of battle was over, my adrenaline level was going down, and I realized once more how cold it truly was at this elevation. I hugged myself, trying to hold in what little body heat I had left.

"You ready to press on?" said Alpha, also looking like he was freezing.

"You know it," I said. I still had one target pokemon left to mark off of my list, and I had it in my crosshairs.

"You know it," Roulette agreed that they were ready to move on. Alpha was sure that he was happy as ever now that he had successfully caught two Pokemon at the park. All he needed was one more and he could be ready to leave the park if he wanted to. Otherwise, he could spend the rest of his time inside the park checking the other Pokemon that he would encounter soon.

Alpha escorted Roulette through the freezing snowstorm until he saw a small cavern mouth up ahead. "Over there!" Alpha pointed towards the faint darkness of the cavern mouth. Both of them suddenly ran as fast as they could so that they could get away from the snowstorm.

"Lee, hitmon!" Just by the cavern mouth, a brown kicking Pokemon blocked their way. Its long feet was stretched upwards, looking like it was ready to kick someone.

"Hitmonlee, I really need you to get away from there, we're freezing!" Alpha looked at Roulette, who seemed to be as eager as ever to hear a 'no' from Roulette.

OOC: Well, Snorunt should definitely be Female, and Machop should be male. As far as natures go, I'd like Machop to be Adamant, and Snorunt to be Calm.

    IC:

I followed Alpha through the blizzard again as we progressed across the frozen terrain. As we were walking across the ice cold path that was laid out in front of us, we noticed an opening to another cave up ahead. I knew that it would be warmer, if not at least less windy inside, so I followed Alpha towards it.

Just before we reached our destination, we heard a pokemon's cry ahead of us. A brown pokemon with long legs was blocking our path, raising his legs in the air and kicking occasionally. I couldn't see a mouth or nose on the pokemon, only two eyes, and his legs were much larger, and far more toned than his arms.

"Hitmonlee, I really need you to get away from there, we're freezing!" said Alpha. He didn't even ask me if I wanted it this time, as he somehow knew my answer was going to be 'No'. I didn't say anything, and we kept walking past.

"Let's go farther into this cave, Alpha. I'm sure that there are quite a few pokemon inside," I said, pointing into the depths of the cavern.

OOC: Sorry for the wait, I had been busy for the past few days, I'll make it up to you. I promise. o:

"Let's go farther into this cave, Alpha. I'm sure that there are quite a few pokemon inside," Roulette said as he started to lead the way by going first inside the cave, passing the large brown kicking Pokemon that blocked the entrance.

The cave wasn't the same as the cave we've been through earlier. The walls here were smooth, the snowstorm must've slowly froze the walls here bit by bit. Alpha ran his fingers on the walls to feel the smoothness of the walls. It was incredibly smooth and watery, Alpha looked at his fingers, only to find out that there were droplets of water on it. The ground was covered with stalactites, it wasnt't that big but their number was irritating. The cave looked like a maze because of the stalactites.

"This is incredibly annoying," Alpha noted. He lead the way away from the stalactites until they reached a place where the stalactites were behind them, and in front of them was a large field that was perfect for battling.

"Rogue," a faint voice cried from behind them. Alpha turned around to see what it is.

"A Tyrogue," Alpha finally said, then he looked at Roulette.

OOC: Derp, I knew that. Forgot he had one already.

    IC:
We walked past the kicking pokemon, and into the depths of the cave. It wasn't like the first cave we had come through. This one was brighter, and didn't have as many rocks hanging from the ceiling. The walls were completely frozen over, and were smooth to the touch. I watched Alpha run in fingers across their surface.

We kept walking for a few minutes, avoiding the rocks jutting up from the floor, and I looked around me in wonder at the beautiful cavern walls. As we progressed through the cave, I began to think we weren't going to see any pokemon in here, but then I heard something in the distance. A small, grey pokemon appeared in front of us and was staring us down.

"A Tyrogue," said Alpha. I looked the pokemon over, and it reminded me of the Machop I had already captured. I didn't have a need for another similar fighting pokemon.

"I think I'll pass it up, Alpha. Let's go deeper into the cave," I said.

"I think I'll pass it up, Alpha. Let's go deeper into the cave," Roulette said.

Alpha let Roulette deeper into the cave. The walls remained half-frozen and there were still dozens of stalactites lying on the ground. He slipped his fingers at the watery walls as they went farther inside the cave. Slowly, the light was fading away, and the cold air was creeping inside.

"It's getting colder and colder." Alpha embraced himself as he struggled against the cold temperatures just to help Roulette get the Pokemon he desired. Suddenly, Alpha sensed a small blue orb of light passed by. He turned around to check where the orb came from or where it was leading to. "Let's turn around and follow the orb," Alpha suggested as he turned his body around and led Roulette towards the orb.

"Lucario," a voice spoke from behind a large stalagmite. Its bluish body was releasing a blue aura, the blue orb went straight towards its aura.

"Wow, this is a nice encounter huh?" Alpha looked at Roulette, his arms was still wrapped around his body.

"It's getting colder and colder," said Alpha, looking around at the cavern's walls. They were semi-coated with a thin layer of ice, which was melted here and there in patches.

Just like with the first cave we went through, this one had stalagmites and stalactites all over it. Some hung precariously from above, while others protruded abruptly from the ground. No matter where they stood or hung, they looked intimidating, especially since some were as large as Alpha or myself. The cave's walls seemed to be closing in on us, and I guess they were. When we entered, the ceiling must have been twenty feet above us, if not more, but now it was only a cramped eight or nine. The rocks were getting fewer as we progressed though, so the going was a bit easier.

As we walked through the frigid cave, we passed a small offshoot of the main trail. It was skinny, and led somewhere that we couldn't see. As we looked down it, there was suddenly a faint, blue light at the other end. I stopped walking now so that I could watch it. The light, an orb of some kind, inched closer and closer in midair while I watched. Finally, it popped out of the side-path and into the main cavern where Alpha and I were standing. It drifted dreamily past us, and headed in another direction.

"Let's turn around and follow the orb," said Alpha, walking towards the orb as it floated down, deeper into the cave.

Everywhere the blue ball of light went, a path of dimmer light followed. It was like a shadow to the orb, and faded almost as soon as it appeared. Alpha and I followed the strange ball of energy for a few minutes until we reached what seemed to be a wider area of the cave. The ceilings were somewhat higher, and more rocks shot up from the cavern's floor. It resembled a room of sorts, and was round. The walls, like the ones earlier in the cave, were completely frozen and looked slippery.

Suddenly the floating blue ball went behind one of the larger stalagmites. A puff of steam came from behind the large rock, and I heard a noise that sounded like someone, or something, breathing out heavily, almost like a sigh. After a few seconds, a dark figure with crossed arms appeared from behind the rock. It had sharp spikes protruding from both of its hands, and had pointed ears. Its body was mostly blue and black, but it had a tan belly and red eyes. Though it wasn't large, it was clearly in good physical condition, and it seemed to be a good fighter from what I could tell. It didn't seem too happy that we had disturbed it, and it looked up at us. The blue orb was still floating in the air, but now it was circling the pokemon, a Lucario. The Lucario seemed to erupt with blue energy now, and what seemed to be the same stuff that made up the floating ball now covered its entire body. The blue orb circled Lucario now, head to toe, and finally it floated right into the Lucario. The Aura surrounding Lucario seemed to absorb it with ease, and as the little Aura Sphere entered the much larger Aura field around Lucario, a ripple was sent across the surface of the coating.

"Lucario," said the beast, looking at Alpha and I. It appeared that it had been meditating or something, and we had disturbed it. It wasn't happy at all. I was incredibly intimidated by the pokemon, even though it was smaller than I was, and I backed away from it.

Alpha was incredibly cool and collected with the situation though. Seeing all of this unfold around him didn't seem to affect him a bit, and he simply said, "Wow, this is a nice encounter huh?" as he looked the Aura-coated pokemon over.

I gathered myself now and stopped backing down. The pokemon stood in front of us, sizing us up. He looked me over with his red eyes, and looked at Infernape who was standing next to me. It was silent in the cave; nobody was moving or speaking now. I heard Infernape crack his knuckles behind me, preparing to fight. As I waited, not sure of what I was going to do yet, Infernape grunted a little, sending steam from his nose. Fire was building up inside him, and smoke escaped his nostrils as he breathed out. Clearly, Infernape was ready for another fight. He enjoyed battling more than any other pokemon I owned, and was easily my best fighter. This Lucario seemed to be of equal size, and maybe equal skill, as my Infernape, so if they were to fight it would be a good one. Though Infernape was weakened from a previous battle, he had the type advantage, so he could probably pull it off if he tried. I knew that Lucario was an incredibly rare pokemon, and a great fighter. If I was to catch one, It would surely prove to be a valuable member of my team. If I was going to fight it though, I would have to be on the top of my game. I'd surely have to command Nape with precision and a clear head.

"Alright, Nape, you obviously want to fight this one, and I could definately use a Lucario on my team. It'll be tough, Nape. Are you sure you want to take it on?" I asked, looking at my pokemon who had now stepped up in front of me. The flaming monkey, whose head was now burning brighter than usual and illuminating the cavern ceiling, nodded and cracked his neck.

"Looks like we'er going to battle this one, Alpha," I said to my ranger. I turned back to look at the Lucario now, and he was as intimidating as ever. Lucario remained standing in front of us, seemingly waiting on me to make my move. I looked at Nape who was shaking with the urge to battle now.

I looked around at my surroundings to see what I had to work with. I would need a smart and unexpected strategy to succesfully capture Lucario, and the cave we were battling in would hopefully allow me to pull it off. Around me I saw the usual stuff you'd see in a cave. Rocks were jutting up from the ground here and there, and puddles were scattered about the floor. The ground was hard, as were the walls, but only the walls had ice on them. The floor was firm and level, perfect for battling on. Infernape, who was already agile and nimble, could get great traction here and might be able to outmaneuvre the Lucario. The only thing that I was worried about was the visibility this deep into the cave. Nape had flames all over it, and its main colors were red and white, making it very easy to spot, even in darkness. Lucario was blue and black, with only a touch of white, which made him nearly invisible at a distance in this darkness. Infernape would have to focus on it for the whole battle if he was going to defeat it.

I looked at the stalagmites that were placed randomly around the cave's floor. They were much larger this deep into the cave, and shot at least three to four feet into the air in some places. The pointed tops looked like they could do some damage if someone was to land on them...or if they were used as a projectile. That gave me an idea!

"Okay, Infernape, I've got a plan. I want you to loosen the foundation of the cave a bit using Earthquake. Try to shake the rocks that are sticking up from the ground off of their bases. Once the rocks are broken off, try launching them towards the Lucario using Stone Edge. Be careful though, the Lucario is sure to be quick, and he'll be hard to see in low light!"

Infernape nodded and pressed his hands on the ground. He spread his wide hands onto the hard cave floor and closed his eyes. He focused all of the energy he could muster through his arms, down into his hands, and then into the earth below him. The cave began to rumble, so I retreated to a safer distance and hit behind a boulder. The whole cave was shaking now, and as I watched the two battling pokemon, I hoped that I wouldn't cause a cave-in or something. The whole cave was rattling and shaking uncontrollably now, and I could barely see in front of me. I grabbed my head, attempting to stop myself from getting dizzy, but then the shaking suddenly stopped. When I looked up, some of the rocks that had been pointing into the air from the ground were now toppled over.

"Great job, Nape!" I shouted, seeing that this stage of my plan had worked. I looked up, trying to spot Lucario, but I couldn't see him. Either he had hidden behind something, or my eyes couldn't see well enough in the dark to find him. "Infernape, it looks a little dark in here. I want you to brighten things up before your next attack! Aim a Flamethrower towards the cieling, and then start your Stone Edge attack!" I said.

Infernape's mouth filled with fire, and he blew the flames up in the air. They instantly illuminated the cave, and everything inside was now visible, even from where I hid behind a rock. I spotted Lucario again, who was standing near the same place he had been originally. The dark was really playing with my sight, especially this far away. Now that he could see better, Infernape reached for a large, pointed rock. Though his arms were skinny, he lifted the large stone above his shoulder like a javelin using only one hand. He settled the rock into place, and then launched it towards the Lucario. Before it could hit, he picked another one up and did the same thing. Several smaller, rounder rocks littered the cavern floor as well, and he pounded the ground fiercly, shooting them into the air. With a sweeping kick, he launched them towards the Lucario as well. I watched as the barrage of sharp, shattered rocks flew through the air towards Lucario who was perfectly visible thanks to the fire above them.
