"Neon, what an odd name," I said through chattered teeth as I waited for my newest trainer to come and be escorted. I had a thick jacket on and a favourite wooly scarf of mine wrapped tightly around my neck. It was nearly impossible to see with the snow shooting past my face and all around. I had learned my lesson from all of the other times I had been to Mt. Oktori, you can never be unprepared for the harsh climate. There was a flash of bright light and I turned to see a familiar pink-and-blue Pokemon emerge from his Pokeball.

"Well, Porygon-Z. Nice of you to join me. Keep your eyes peeled for this Neon chap. He could be quite near for all we know."

Approximately 300 metres away," Porygon-Z said non-chalantly, completely oblivious to the falling snow.

"Oh, be quiet, you big nerd," I said with a laugh as I saw a dark figure shuffling forwards through the snow.

"Achoo!" sneezed a bundled up young man.

The man stopped in the middle of a raging snowstorm, trying to find his way to the ranger outpost. His thoughts immediately raced to the idea of the cold sorroundings that constantly bit at his health. Then another thought popped into his head, an old wives' tale his mother once shared with him; every time you sneeze it means someone is talking about you. This couldn't be right though, for he was in the middle of nowhere.

His focus returned to the task before him. He continued his conquest of the snowy terrain, slowly coming upon a brightly lit building. Finally, he had found it: the ranger outpost. Quickly he ran inside in an attempt to escape the harsh conditions.

As he entered the building, he found that there was only a slight raise in temperature. It was still a welcome change. His sorroundings quickly formed into the same picture he had seen in his previous visits to the park, just with a tad bit of an arctic approach. Sitting in a chair in the center of the room was what the man assumed to be his Ranger. Above said Ranger was a smooth floating pokemon.

The man approached the ranger and introduced himself.

"Yo. I take it you're my ranger? I'm Neon," introduced Neon.

OOC: So sorry, I'll post as much as possible this weekend to make up for it.

"Yo. I take it you're my ranger? I'm Neon," a deep voice said causing me to jump. From the other entrance to the ranger's outpost here at Mt. Oktori.

"Hey, man. Right, let's head off then," I said after giving him a brief handshake, pausing to take a deep breath before embracing the harsh climate outside. Together, we trudged through the pounding blizzard for a few minutes, he was standing slighty behind me as we walked. Occasionally, I would spare him a glance from the side of my eye to make sure he was keeping up. This was terrible conditions for anyone to have to trudge through so I decided it would be best to head for the caves in the mountainside.

"You happy with heading towards the caves for a bit of shelter and to give this vicious blizzard some time to die down?" I asked Neonsands.

OOC: Not a problem, I'll probably just update sporatically.

"Hey, man. Right, let's head off then," returned Jay offering a brief handshake. And with that, they both set off outside into the harsh environment. The slight trail might have been hard to follow without a raging blizzard covering it; with the added snow it was near impossible.

Neon followed directly behind his ranger, doing his best to hold off any thoughts of the cold. He noticed a few glances from his ranger, and realized that he had been following him for several minutes now and hadn't even bothered striking up a conversation or anything. Just as he was about to pipe up and try to get a conversation started, Jay started talking.

"You happy with heading towards the caves for a bit of shelter and to give this vicious blizzard some time to die down?" asked Jay.

"Yeah, sounds good to me. Anything to get out of this cold," replied Neon while stuffing his hands further into his pockets.

Neon continued following his ranger, up until they came upon the opening of a cave.

"Yeah, sounds good to me. Anything to get out of this cold," Neon replied through chattering teeth. In a few seconds we were at the mountain's side and looking for some shelter. I noticed a rather large crevice within a few minutes and pointed it out to Neon.

"We can go in here for some shelter until this storm dies down. If it continues like this the run may have to be postponed," I said glumly. "But, don't worry. These blizzards usually die down within an hour or so." The warmth of the cave was so welcome right then and I couldn't help but smile as I dropped onto the ground, followed by Neon. I looked up at Neon-- meaning to say something when I froze. "Don't panic," I whispered. "Crawl towards me slowly and we'll look for another passageway in this cave." Neon turned around slowly to see a large snoozing Shelgon right behind him. Shelgon were awfully territorial.

Sooner than Neon thought possible, they had found their way to the mountain side. The "cave" from earlier had turned out to just have been a very convincing pattern of rock on the side of the mountain. To make matters worse, throughout their treck to the mountain, the snowfall had gotten significantly worse. Neon was suffering from the harsh cold, and from dashed hopes. Soon, however, Jay pointed out a large crevice around the next bend. They could easily take refuge here until the storm passed.

"We can go in here for some shelter until this storm dies down. If it continues like this the run may have to be postponed. But, don't worry. These blizzards usually die down within an hour or so," encouraged Jay.

Neon just nodded his head in reply, not so much bothering with words as the idea of shelter from this storm. He followed Jay into the cave, where Jay collapsed onto the ground. Jay's smile soon changed from an overjoyed smile, to a worried frown.

He quick muttered instructions to Neon, "Don't panic. Crawl towards me slowly and we'll look for another passageway in this cave."

Neon happily obliged, not looking forward to an encounter with a Shelgon. He got down onto his hands and knees, and began crawling in the same fashion he did as a child: army style.

    Ranger Ivy Frost

    ---

“Chainy, where the hell are Jay and his Trainer?” There was static on the other end of her phone as she struggled to hear her fellow Ranger's response.

It was cold. The wind howled and the snow pelted down on her as she pressed as close to the rock face as she could. She pressed the phone to her ear under her dark hood and tried to cover the other one with her free hand. Haji, her Espeon, stood in the protection of her heavy black cloak.

Ivy had been asked to take over a run that just started. Jay, the current Ranger, got a call at the Main Outpost for a family emergency and nobody could get ahold of him on the moutain, like what happened with Alpha. Since she was one of the only Rangers available at the moment, she volunteered. It was just poor luck that the GPS on her phone had decided to quit on her this morning; hence the reason she was getting instruction from back at the office.

“I don't know, Ivy, it says they're right there somewhere. Maybe you're missing them?”

She sighed, looking around the snowy path again. There was nobody else out here. She was sure of that, even if the snow made it hard to see. “Nobody is here, and I can't find any entrance to one of the caves. I'm not risking Haji teleporting us to somewhere he hasn't seen either,” she added, before Chainy could suggest it. She heard horror stories about teleporting accidents having Pokémon and Trainers get stuck in things like walls. “How far is the next cave entrance mark? I must've missed the other one.”

She heard a sigh on the other end. “There should be one about fifty yards ahead. If you can't find it, get back to the Outpost and we'll get more help or at least wait until that storm dies down. They'll be fine with Jay there.”

“It's an emergency. He'll be able to teleport out. Besides, I'm already here. No use going back now.”

She could envision the frown that must be on his face. “Just be careful. If you don't, I'm sending Dual out after you.”

She just shook her head with a small smile. “Thanks, Chainy. I'll get ahold of you guys if there's trouble.” Then she hung up and returned to looking for that elusive cave entrance.

This time, it was where it should be, right where Chainy indicated from the computer back at the station. It was mostly hidden among the snow and ice, but she and Haji managed to squeeze into the main part of the cave. Now that they were out of the elements, she could focus on thinking.

Haji shook the now off of him and paused, speaking into her mind after a moment. “They are close. I will show you.”

She nodded and followed the Psychic cat as he headed further into the caves. He used to be a lot quieter than he was now. It had bothered her for a while, thinking she was doing something wrong, but that was just the way he was. That he was talking more for her made her smile.

Soon the path split, and Haji stopped, peering into one of the tunnels. Ivy followed suit in time to see two people crawling out from a very tight crevese near the floor, the sounds of a snoring Shelgon echoing through. Ivy waited for the two of them to stand, recognizing Jay and the Trainer who must've been Neon. He was about average height with black hair and fedora, wearing casual jeans and a t-shirt covered by a coat. He looked like he was having fun, like maybe he had loved to crawl as a child.

“Silly Otouto.” She grinned at Jay as his face morphed from the nickname. She then explained the call they got, and the two Rangers traded information before Jay's Porygon-Z teleported them from the mountain. Ivy turned toward Neon and stuck out her hand. “Hi there. I'm Ivy, and I'll be your replacement Ranger for the rest of your run. This is Haji,” she said, motioning towards the Espeon that had stopped at her side. “Nice to meet you.”

Slowly, Neon and Jay crawled away from the Shelgon, never letting it out of their sights. The two knew they had reached safety when they felt the snow under their feet again. Neon quickly rose to his feet, realizing the winter elements could quickly take advantage of him. Oddly enough, a new figure appeared in front of him. A female shape took form through the snow cover, wearing a similar outfit as Jay. Neon knew exactly what this meant, having dealt with a similar situation before.

"Silly Otouto," began the ranger. She explained the complex situation to Jay, while Neon spaced out. Neon got a few details, but missed out on the rest. Something about a Dodrio getting into a Chicken Pot Pie factory. Rough stuff.

When Neon finally came back to the regular world, he watched Jay and his Porygon-Z vanish in a flash. The ranger then introduced herself as Ivy, telling Neon about how she was now taking over the run. Neon happily echanged greetings with Ivy and her Espeon. Neon then told Ivy all about his and Jay's plan to find shelter.

    Ranger Ivy Frost

    ---

Neon geeted both her and Haji (which she approved of greatly) and told her about what he and Jay had planned upon coming into the cave. They wanted to find shelter for a while, which was a good idea. She had just come from outside; it didn't look like the storm was letting up any time soon. This wasn't really a problem though.

“Alright, Neon, Jay had the right idea getting you guys out of the weather. It's still pretty nasty out there. Not the end of the world though. Oktori has a bunch of cave systems, and I'm pretty sure we'll be able to navigate them for a while. I've only had one accident, and that was on my first run. No worries.”

She smiled at him and then began to lead the way back to the split in the path, following down the other route. It was darker, but the cave walls were a little reflective, giving the space a blue-gray tint. She wasn't sure where the light was coming from for sure, but she wasn't complaining. It was a little wider now, about four arm spans across, and the ground was littered with rocks. Some looked sharp, so she made a mental note not to fall on them. That seemed like an obvious one, but she still remembered the wild Trainer that had kept knocking her over...

There was a shifting sound, like stone against stone, but she couldn't tell where it was coming from exactly. She stopped and waited for Haji to reach out with his senses, trying to use her own newly-created link to sense along with him. He helped her out a little, opening the link between their minds. Then she was able to pick up a signature up ahead, coming from a triangle-shaped rock.

It moved then, and it wobbled out of the shadows a little, letting her get a better look at it. It had a triangle tent-like yellow hat, with stubby appendages and beady blue eyes. She recognized it as a Snorunt.

“Hey, Neon,” she called. “Whatdya think about a Snorunt? Any interest?”

Ivy listened to Neon's explanation, nodding her head every now and again to urge him on. After he finished his explanation, Ivy took a second to process the information and gauge what was their next best move.

She then came to her conclusion, got Neon's attention, and informed him of their next action. The original plan was solid, but Ivy wanted to get more ground covered before the blizzard ended.

Neon agreed, as he wanted as many chances as he could get with rare ice pokemon. Neon brushed any remaining snow off of himself. He then checked his pack to make sure everything was accounted for, and alerted Ivy that he had finished and was ready to move on.

Ivy lead Neon through several tiny passageways he probably would have missed otherwise, until they finally reached a moderately sized cavern. Neon asked if they could take a quick break, and Ivy agreed. He admired his sorroundings, taking in every aspect of the rocky surface. He took many different looks at the area, surveying for anything of interest. Upon closer inspection he found a tiny pebble lying at his feet. This pebble sparked a philosophical fire in his head, fueling a deep and insightful reflection on his life and relations.

When Neon finally came back down to earth, he heard a very impatient sigh. He located the source and saw a very peeved ranger glaring at him. Ivy had tried to remain patient, but their "quick" stop had turned into several hours of Neon staring at a rock on the ground.

Neon quick darted through an apology and urged her to not give up hope on him. He mumbled some form of explanation about divine messages and chicken pot pie, but it was to no avail. Neon shut up quickly and sulked in the corner.

Ivy finally perked up when she noticed the small ice creature hiding among the fallen stalactites. She didn't make any noise, but deftly brought the Snorunt to Neon's attention. He gave up his self pity for this chance at an extremely sought after ice-type.

He quickly reached for his sturdiest companion, releasing the steel behemoth from its round cage. Neon's Metagross made a grand entrance, stomping his feet to alert his opponent. *He was ready for a challenge.

"Snorunt, you shall be mine!" howled Neon to get Metagross and himself psyched up for the battle.

It took Neon a really long time to decide what he was doing with the Snorunt. A really long time. In fact, if Oktori could lose its snow, she would've thought it melted away into the hot summer sun by now. He did make up his mind though, and it looked like he wanted to battle.

He pulled at a Pokéball at his belt and released his partner. A blocky metal crab-like creature emerged, tinged a cool blue a little brighter than the tunnel they were in. Metagross spanned almost the entire width of the path, and it was roughly an average person's height. He stomped his feet as a sort of battle challenge, and the whole place rumbled. She braced a hand along the rough stone wall so she didn't fall, cringing a bit. She hoped he didn't do that too much. She wasn't sure how sound this cave system was.

The Snorunt noticed it though, not looking panicked but not looking calm either. Ivy wondered if many other Trainers had tried to capture it before. Some were known to just give up if a battle proved too difficult.

The Ice type gave the metal behemoth a hard stare, and then it turned its attention to the tunnel wall. It braced itself, and then it head-butted the wall. Like with Metagross, the hall shook, and chunks of stone fell from the ceiling. Small wisps of snow floated down too, though she wasn't sure where they came from. There could be a crack to the outside somewhere, though she hoped a ton of snow wouldn't come in.

Small spikes fell down too, sharp shards of rock that would probably hurt whoever stepped on them. The formed a half ring around the Snorunt, like some sort of protective field. Ivy had seen that battle technique used a few times before, both with spikes, a poisoned spike, and rocks that responded to movement.

The small Snorunt didn't stop though. The cave shook over and over as it repeatedly hit the wall. She really really hoped it wasn't trying to cause a cave-in or an avalanche. They so did not need that today.

Another crack against the wall, and even more snow fell down. She was jerked back and almost fell. “Hey, stop that!” she called.

Haji hunkered down closer to the floor in order to keep his balance. She really hoped Neon was going to stop this. She wasn't supposed to interfere unless they were in direct danger, though if this place caved in, they would get there really quick.

    (Female, of course :p)

Metagross had arrogantly given away any hopes for a sneak attack. Neon thought he had worked out that attitude with the intensive training they went through, it appears he couldn't completely remove that cockiness. He assumed the deep sea training wasn't good enough, perhaps next they should go take up Blain on his volcano training routine.

Neon glared at Metagross as the Snorunt returned the challenge by smashing its head repeatedly into the side of the cavern. The entire tunnel shook and stones began falling. Thankfully, the Snorunt stopped before any serious danger could be done. The cavern continued to shake, but eventually subsided after dropping a few more pointed stones around Snorunt.

Neon recognized the move from his own training. It was still underdeveloped, but some training could smooth that out. Neon quickly pieced through the plans he and Metagross had practiced. He thought of one for just this situation.

"MF, use tactic Omega Duo!" ordered Neon. This was one of the many forms of training Neon had come up with for Metagross. To make full use of the super computer brain Metagross was known for, Neon had taught hundreds of move combinations under tactic names. This kept Metagross' decision making precise and made sure it was always running at one hundred percent. As well, it gave a tactical advantage to Metagross in trainer battles. If an opponent had no idea what move Metagross was using, he had a severely lessened chance of blocking against it.

Metagross acknowledged the command and immediately began the combination. First, Metagross quickly took off towards the Snorunt. Then, as it closed in on the circle of spikes it had created, Metagross lifted itself off the ground and began to float in midair through magnetic force. As it narrowed the gap even further, without touching the ground, it started spinning, and stuck out a claw that was shaped into a fist. It spun faster and faster, and then finally collided with the confused Snorunt. It landed a few punches before the ice-type regained itself and moved away from the spinning fist.

Neon smiled, it was a useful combination. He got the idea from watching an oppenent's Charizard. When the challenger commanded his*Charizard to do a Fire Punch, the Charizard spun around to use the extra air to boost the fire and gain more momentum behind the punch. This made Neon think about attacks that Metagross could boost through a spin. He first had to solve the problem of getting the spin under control. Through several attempts, he decided that Magnet Rise would be perfect because of the control it offered and the liberty to move it offered. The next problem was that each attack was too slow; Neon solved this through the use of Bullet Punch. A normally fast move became even faster, hit harder, and even connected several times. It was a fantastic combination.

The Snorunt wasn't one to be phased, however. It quickly took in its sorroundings and prepared a counterstrike.

    Ranger Ivy Frost

    ---

As the Snorunt prepared for an attack, Neon ordered one. “MF, use tactic Omega Duo!” the Trainer shouted, and immediately the mecha went into action, all of his computerized brains working quickly to process the command.

The large metal crab shot off toward Snorunt rapidly, and at first Ivy thought it was using the Bullet Punch technique since Metagross weren't really that fast until their bodies warmed up and ran for a bit. That wasn't the complete move though, so she thought maybe it was computing its movements using the same velocity as the faster skill instead. Metagross began to spin rapidly, though it seemed controlled, and the machine rose in the air, hovering using its magnets that nobody seemed to understand.

As a spinning top, it held out a claw and tried to strike the little Ice-type. She saw this coming, but backed up against the wall, she really couldn't avoid it. Instead, she shook her little triangle head and took a deep breath. A stream of icy wind kicked up as she shouted, kicking up bits and pieces of ice and snow. It clashed with the Metagross just as it struck, soaking into his joints and sensitive parts in the gaps of its metal.

The wind continued as the Snorunt was sent flying by the Metagross's attack, and there was a white out for an instant as the mecha retreated back toward its Trainer. Ivy had to put up an arm to block the blowing snow, falling through a gap in the ceiling. The Snorunt had probably loosened the rocks by slamming into the wall so much.

The cavern was covered in a blanket of snow as the wind howled sharply from the space in the ceiling. Snorunt was nowhere in sight. The snow was undisturbed over the ground, bunching up in banks here and there. The spikes that the Ice-type previously scattered had disappeared, hidden under the mounds of snow. Neon would have to be careful now. This little Pokémon was a little tricky.

    @WinterVines;

Metagross felt the cold grip of the ice-filled wind. It temporarily slowed it down enough for the Snorunt to minimize damage. The Snorunt covered the passageway with snow, and discreetly vanished into the thick blanket of snow. Metagross returned to Neon's side, waiting for its master's orders.

Neon looked over the situation, taking in the snow cover and the already laud out spikes. He didn't have a simple course of action for this, he would have to think on his feet. He made a quick note of the stability of the walls and decided on their next move.

"MF, this little guy is bound to keep running away, so lets minimize his effectiveness. First use Light Screen, then use Gyro Ball!" commanded Neon.

Metagross was already shaking off the effects of the cold. Its clear body made it nearly invulnerable to effects like that, and it always seemed to use it to the best of its ability. Its motor started whirring again, and it started the combo.

Metagross' eyes began to glow, and soon its body was surrounded by several shapes ranging from squares to heaxagons. These shapes all closed in and formed a golden aura around the super computer pokemon. Next, the crab used its magnetic body again to lift itself off the ground. Its limbs pulled back in towards its body and orbs of blue light formed from the end of each appendage.

"Now, MF! Don't worry about hitting the little guy head on, just use your rotation to blast everything out of the center of the path, including that little Snorunt!"

Metagross acknowledged the command and begun spinning. Soon, it could only be made out to be a glowing orb of golden energy with a blue ring of power sorrounding it. Metagross readied itself and took off at a powerful speed down the center of the path, blowing snow and spikes out of the way without even touching them.

@Neonsands; (Again watch the saying outcomes of attacks thing.)

    BP#3

    Ranger Ivy Frost

    ---

The room was quiet despite the whirring of the mecha Pokemon. The blanket of snow had put a dampening effect on the room, and Ivy couldn't tell where the little Snorunt had gone. She was probably hiding in one of the snowbanks, but it could be costly for the Metagross to search through them all. At any second the Ice-type could jump out and attack.

Neon called to his Metagross, sounding pretty unconcerned with their situation. Ivy was a little worried about what the Snorunt's previous attack had done, but she forced herself to pay attention as the Trainer gave out new orders for his Pokemon.

“Fire use Light Screen, then use Gyro Ball,” he said.

A shiny gold light began to coat the steel crab when its eyes glowed. The light appeared in varying shapes, but they were almost invisible. That was the Light Screen. It started to cover his body, making a dome of protective energy around it. Usually when a Pokemon used it, it was like a standout shield that came to attention whenever the Pokemon was attacked. Metagross was using it a little different, and this way may not last as long as the other, since it used more energy to keep the shield locked in place around the user like it was.

Then, the Steel-type started to whir again as its limbs slid back a bit, making the Pokemon more round. Light appeared on the ends, making it look like one of those fancy yo-yos with the programed flashes. Then, Neon yelled, “Now, MF! Don't worry about hitting the little guy head on, just use your rotation to blast everything out of the center of the path, including that little Snorunt!”

Ivy was confused for a second, not knowing exactly what he meant. Then the Metagross started to spin really fast, starting up the Gyro Ball attack. The Ranger worried, since letting a heavy Pokemon loose recklessly like this in a cave was definitely not a good idea. She had images of a pinball machine in her mind. The cave might not be that stable.

The blue crab took off then, spinning at high velocity down the center of the room. Snow started to blow out of the way, which was probably what Neon wanted, since that would get rid of the hiding spots. However, it the force, bits of rocks from the Spikes the Snorunt set up ricocheted off the walls. Ivy could hear the thunk as they hit Metagross's steel plates. It wouldn't be doing that much damage, but the small dents might get annoying.

The Ranger's fists clenched as she watched the steel behemoth carefully. She didn't want it to hit the sides of the walls, but at the speed it was going, that was almost bound to happen.

Suddenly, the Snorunt popped out of one of the snowbanks Metagross was headed straight toward. She squeaked and then focued, and her small eyes glowed as the temperature in the room dropped even further. A gust of wind from the open air at the top of the cavern rushed down, and snow swirled in a blinding field of white. Ivy strained her eyes, but she couldn’t see what was happening on the field.

Then, the Snorunt cried out, and the field cleared just as Ivy caught the little Ice-type smashing into the side wall. She fell down with a plop, looking pretty battered. She didn't blame the Pokemon. Metagross was really heavy.

Her attention was brought back to the steel crab just as it slammed into the far wall of the room, since it had been in line with the path it took. It impacted with a bang, and the whole room shook. Ivy fell backward a little and had to catch herself by grabbing onto the wall. Then, she ducked and covered her head as rocks fell loose from the ceiling. They crashed down from above, sending snow flying up. One of them landed on top of Metagross, and it didn't fall off.

When the room had stilled, Ivy found that there were buckets more of snow cast around, the result of the Blizzard attack. Looking at Metagross, what she feared earlier showed true. The steel crab's limbs looked mostly frozen. It had been protected by the Light Screen, but that only made things worse. The Powder Snow from before had seeped into its limbs like she thought, and the barrier only trapped the moisture there. The working machine must've heated up the ice enough to melt slightly, and the Blizzard and refrozen it in place.

With the rock sitting squarely on Metagross's back, it looked stuck. Neon was going to have to do some careful thinking to get out of this one. She wasn't sure if those limbs would be that operational.

The Snorunt was now getting up, surveying her work. She located the steel crab and got hard eyes, ready to attack again. The Trainer was going to have to act somewhat quickly.

    @WinterVines;

(Should Icy Wind have lowered speed? Clear Body prevents that, doesn't it?)

Neon watched as his trained Metagross relapsed into sloppy technique. It's gyro ball stuttered and lost its force. The spikes that should have easily been forced to a stand still wildly spun out of control and bounced around. As well, his straight path had a slight curve in it. When the Snorunt hopped out of it's cover, Metagross could have just blown by and probably done enough damage by residual effect, instead it shot off course and ran the little polemon into the cave wall causing structural damage. This was unacceptable, and Neon would be sure to hold Metagross to this after their run.

Not only did Metagross take the Blizzard and spikes, but it also caused several rocks to dislodge themselves from the ceiling. One such rock fell directly on top of Metagross and caught it in place, making any immediate movement a problem. Neon was not a happy camper, but he would have to simmer down and think logically through this to not let the Snorunt escape again.

He had an idea, it was a faint one, but it could certainly make the most out of the current situation. It would involve precise timing and accuracy, something he was hoping his Metagross would give him, if just for this one part of the battle.

"MF, enact trapping technique Alpha. When the target is caught, follow up with confusion!" directed Neon, hoping his faithful sidekick would understand the commands.

Metagross' scanned for the attack orders and possible outcomes, searching for the best result its trainer wanted. Click! It had found it. Without budging, Metagross only had to raise it's front two legs for the next move to work, meaning the rock on its core wouldn't affect the attack too much. As its crab-like legs rose in front, spires of the loosened rock began to rise out of the ground near the Snorunt. Metagross had no way of knowing whether this tomb of rocks had caught its prey, but it had to hope. The next part of the attack went into effect. The large X across Metagross' face began to glow a blue hue as the same coloring sorrounded the rock on top of its head. The rock lifted off the steel type with ease as it slowly broke down into a large quantity of tiny rock splinters. Most of the splinters were discarded to the side, however Metagross used its psychic confusion powers to launch the remaining few splinters at the tomb of rocks. Splinters of this size would have a much weaker effect than the large rock, however it wouldn't damage the sorroundings nearly as much.

@Neonsands; The Park isn't always like the games, so not necessarily, no. The Park operates more on role play quality and realism. If something is explained well, it can more or less happen, with exceptions of course. Basically, if there's ice in Meta's joints, it's not going to be as easy to move. This is also why moves like Earthquake can receive strikes for damage if the Trainer isn't careful, since in real/anime life, that's going to make a big crack in the ground and shake some stuff up, while in the game it doesn't do much to the surroundings. That's one reason why it's important to be specific with what you want moves to do and stuff.

Also, saying the effect of your attack, breaking the boulder on top of Meta, isn't really allowed. You can say what you want to happen with it, but to say the technique actually works strays over into the Ranger's area.

    BP#4

    Ranger Ivy Frost

    ---

Neon thought of a plan to help his semi-stuck Metagross, and while he did, the Snorunt began charging an attack. Ivy couldn't really tell, but the snow swirled around her a little, and the little hat Pokemon took a deep breath. Whatever it was, it would probably hit hard.

Eventually the Trainer said, “MF, enact trapping technique Alpha. When the target is caught, follow up with Confusion!”

The Ranger wasn't sure what he was going to do, but she watched to find out. She heard strain as the mecha Pokemon moved its limbs while being stuck under the heavy rock. The front two legs, left free to move, lifted into the air a short height. In response, rocks on the field started to twitch and move too.

Ivy saw now that he was probably trying to trap the Snorunt with the rocks. She would wait to see what else it would do before making any predictions though.

The Metagross then started using psychic energy. Ivy felt it due to her bond with Haji, making her a little more sensitive to energy pressures and related things. She then spotted the rock that had landed on top of the steel behemoth start to rise up slowly. The energy contorted and twisted, and eventually the smaller boulder crumbled into shards. These didn't drop to the ground, however. Instead, they stayed suspended with energy and shot off toward the Snorunt.

All at once the techniques crashed down onto the still-preparing Ice-type. She squealed as the rocks smashed together, created a dust cloud that blotted her out for a few seconds. When the debris faded, Ivy could see the dents and scratches on her body. She stumbled a little, but she wasn’t' going to stop attacking. The used rocks were strewn around her in pieces, a visual of how hard they had hit.

Instead, she cried out, and let loose a stream of frigid air from her lungs, aimed straight at the Metagross. It was a misty white, with flecks of snow mixed into it. She could tell it was super cold by how it had that smoky effect. Even has Ivy watched, she saw the steel crab's face starting to turn from that blue to a more milky color. Its plates were turning even more white by the second.

The Metagross made a sound in protest, but it didn't move. She wasn't sure if it was still damaged from the rock or the previous ice attacks. The Ice-type kept on breathing, though, and she didn't look like she wanted to stop. She did know that if Neon didn't do something, the Snorunt was going to be successful in turning his Pokemon into one giant ice cube.

(Understandable. I just got confused because in the parkpedia it says that Clear Body prevents stat drops from moves other than ones used by the mon with Clear Body. I get what you are saying, though. Just checking.

And I'll definitely try my best not to say what the move does. I just like describing how things work, so it isn't left up to thought.)

Things went according to plan, and the attacks collided against the tiny ice-type. The damage was significant enough to make Snorunt slow down. Metagross took pride in its work.

Suddenly, Snorunt began a quick counter attack, shooting a freezing breath off at Metagross. Slowly ice was beginning to engulf the steel crab. It was a bad position and Neon didn't want to deal with it.

Neon quickly reached into his pocket and grabbed a soothing fragrance plus from his pocket. He sprayed it over the Snorunt, and grabbed a superball from his pocket. He let the superball go, and hoped for the best.

@Neonsands; Fair enough. It's good to say what you want the attack to do, just not to say if it actually works out the way you say it should. And the Pedia says a lot of stuff, but usually it's just up to role play and the Ranger XD

Metagross was in a bad place. The Snorunt was still spewing her frosty breath at the blue crab, and it didn't look like it was moving very fast to get out of it. Neon did the first thing he could think of to stop the Ice-type.

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a bottle. Ivy recognized the label of one of the fragrances that they sold in the Park Shop. He sprayed the stuff, and you could immediately tell. It was decently strong. The Snorunt noticed too, and she quit breathing ice for a second so she could turn and sniff the air better. It seemed she liked it.

Then, Neon grabbed one of his Super Balls and took aim. The little Ice-type squealed as she realized what was going to happen, but by that time it was too late. The device struck the Pokemon on the top of her hat, sucking her into the ball with a beam of red light. The Super Ball fell to the snow with a slight wiggle, and then it lit up in the center.

“Well that was one way to end the fight,” Ivy commented as she wandered over into the snow to pick up the ball. She shook the snow off of it before putting it into her vest pocket. Then she turned to look at the Steel-type. “Well, Metagross will probably be fine.” Now that the Snorunt wasn't breathing on it, the ice was starting to melt from its face and limbs. “What do you want to do now?” she asked the Trainer.

    @WinterVines;

Neon watched as the little ice-type smelled the fragrance. It certainly seemed to enjoy it. This slight change of pace was enough for Neon to take advantge of it and whip out a superball. Neon quickly launched the ball at the distracted Snorunt, and the ball hit dead on. It absorbed the snow hat pokemon and began to shake. Neon watched with anticipation as his target was being caught. It rolled once, twice, and finally thrice; the Snorunt was now his. He was really excited.

Ivy stepped into the now calm battlefield and scooped up the pokeball. She shook it off before depositing it in her pocket.

"Well that was one way to end the fight," Ivy glanced over Metagross just to make sure he was okay, "Well, Metagross will probably be fine."

Neon quick turned his attention to his faithful companion. He had fought hard and definitely was deserving of whatever rest he managed to get. Neon left him to loosen and remove the ice that coated his body, just for one second.

"What do you want to do now?" asked Ivy.

"I'd like to continue, however I'd love to start my Sneasel disc if at all possible," answered an ecstatic Neon. He noticed his metal-type had finished defrosting so he returned the behemoth to its pokeball.
