    @Neonsands; Syn rolled you a pretty good pre-BW list.

    NBP#4

    Ranger Ivy Frost

    ---

    Metagross was almost defrosted from the effects of the last battle as Neon said, “I'd like to continue, however, I'd love to start my Sneasel disk if at all possible.” As his Pokemon shook off the rest of the ice from its body, the Trainer returned it to its Pokeball.

    “Sure thing,” Ivy said as they started walking again. She led them out of the caves this time to see if the weather had died down at all. Sure enough, the snow had quit blowing so hard. She could actually see in front of her nose.

    They stepped out from the cave onto a snowy path that was open to the sky. It still had rock wall boundaries though, so they weren't quite on the edge of the mountain. The whole thing was probably thirty feet wide though, giving them lots of space. Snow had fallen down, making it a little hard to step through. It didn't look like anything had been down this way yet since the snow was unmarked.

    The path curved around the mountain, and she made to follow it before she heard a noise. Before Neon could start his disk player up, a black and red blur streaked through the path, tearing up snow in the way. As it fell back down, the creature stopped in front of them, and Ivy got a good look.

    It was a blue-black color, and it stood upright like a person would. Wicked looking claws were on both its hands and feet, and pink feathers decorated the back of its head and tail. Looks like Neon got extremely lucky, finding the Pokemon he was looking for without needing a disk.

    The Sneasel dragged its claws against each other, and tiny sparks flashed off of them. It looked like this Pokemon was ready for a fight. Ivy stepped back into the mouth of the cave again so she'd be out of the way, and Haji followed her, taking refuge out of the path.

    “Well, have at it,” Ivy said, smiling as she gestured.

    @WinterVines;

    (Nifty XD)

    Neon followed Ivy out of the cave, noting the lack of the severe wind from earlier. As light began to pour in from the opening, Neon noticed the change in weather. Instead of the blizzard from earlier, the snow was coming down a lot lighter. This proved good news, meaning Neon and Ivy could continue down the path ahead of them.

    They both started down the road, adjusting to the snow. Ivy was just setting up the disk player, when a black and red blur appeared from nowhere. It slowed to a halt in front of Ivy. The blue-black coloring was a dead givaway, this was the pokemon Neon had been looking for. What a stroke of luck.

    Neon immdiately got ready for the battle. He knew he wanted it, and nothing was going to stand in his way. He stepped infront of Ivy. "I've got this. I definitely want to battle," reassured Neon. He reached into his pocket and grabbed his unused Pokemon's ball and released it.

    The blue duck pokemon came out ready to fight. It always got so lonely in its ball, that it was willing to give 110% so that it could be picked to come out again later on down the road. The water type greeted his trainer, and Neon greeted back.

    "You ready for a fight, Golddigger?" asked Neon.

    The duck nodded and got into position.

    @Neonsands; Sneasel gender?

    BP#5

    Ranger Ivy Frost

    ---

    “I've got this,” Neon said, not wasting any time in pulling out other Pokeball. This time, he released the other Pokemon he brought.

    In a flash of light, a bipedal blue duck came out. It had webbed appendages and a shining red stone on his forehead. The Pokemon greeted his Trainer with a happy look and a wave. He looked pretty pumped to battle.

    “You ready for a fight, Golddigger?” Neon asked, and as the duck Pokemon nodded, Ivy was reminded of a song she heard on the mainland.

    The Trainer didn't call out any commands right away, but the Sneasel didn't look like it wanted to wait. With a sneery call, it scraped its claws together again. This time, it looked like they were actually getting sharper instead of the wild Pokemon just showing off. With a swipe of one of its claws, the Sneasel sent a barrage of sharp spears in Golduck's direction quickly.

    The Water-type put up his arms to try and block the attack, but it only managed to block some of the shards. The rest didn't seem like they did too much damage, though, so Golddigger wasn't going to be too affected. Water-types were more resistent to Ice-type attacks too, if she remembered correctly. Ice was just frozen water after all.

    The Ice Shard was just a distraction though, since the wild Pokemon didn't even stick around to see the outcome of its attack. Instead, it twisted its body like a corkscrew and dug into the ground, kicking up snow around it in puffs.

    Ivy looked around, but she couldn't see the Sneasel anywhere. They had a little bit of a devious side, so trickery like this was pretty common when fighting them. Neon should probably expect more weird tactics as well.

    The Ranger wasn't sure where the wild Pokemon was either. Usually, thanks to her mental bond with Haji, she could use that Psychic-sensing technique to tell where things were. Sneasel's Dark-typing was interfering with that since it resisted a lot of Psychic energy. Haji could still tell, since he just looked for spaces in his senses instead, but Ivy hadn't learned how to do that yet. Instead of asking him, she would just watch to see what happened next.

    “Watch out for that Dig,” she said to Neon. Sneasel was pretty fast, so they were going to have to be on their toes.

    @WinterVines;

    (Let's make it male.)

    The Sneasel watched as Golduck got into position. He was expecting some kind of opening attack that he could counter, however it never came. This Golduck was so happy to be dealing with another pokemon that it wanted to use up as much time as readily available.

    The sharp claw pokemon wasn't about to sit around and wait for another snowstorm to come in its way. The dark rabbit rubbed its claws together in a way to hone them so its attacks would be more deadly. It then followed off by launching a few shards of ice at the water type. The shards zipped through the air and collided with Golduck. The duck pokemon took the shards with ease, only to realize that the Sneasel had gone underground.

    Neon was definitely more calm for this fight. The first one was a success and something extreme would have to happen roil. One factor that Neon wasn't a huge fan of were the close quarters from earlier down the road. Now, Neon had a much more managable battlefield and objective.

    Neon thought of the spacial benefits for his pokemon, and devised a plan to help counter the incoming ground attack. It wasn't the greatest, but it would certainly do the job it needed, and it would minimize damage. Neon went over this plan one last time in his head. Neon was ready.

    "Golddigger, I want you to calm your mind and focus on your psychic abilities. Pinpoint this little rabbit to the best of your ability. Now, after locating it, wait for it to start it's ascent, then use aerial ace to get off the ground and loop around and strike to the best of your abilities," ordered Neon.

    Goldduck confirmed the approach and started in motion.

    Ranger Ivy Frost

    ---

    The larger hallway they were in left more opportunities for battle than the cavern did. At least out here the sky was open, and Ivy didn't have to worry as much about damage. The wall lining the path on each side could be damaged, but since both of these fighters were smaller, she didn't really think that would be a problem.

    “Golddigger, I want you to calm your mind and focus on your psychic abilities,” Neon said. From the sounds of it, the Trainer wanted his Golduck to be able to sense where the Sneasel was. Even though the duck was Water-typed, it was semi-known for having psychic abilities too. This was in part from its pre-evolution, Psyduck, since it was known to show great psychic powers when its headache became awful.

    Next, Neon told the Golduck to try to pinpoint the wild Pokemon, and when she did, to leap into the air with an aerial ace. He wasn't trying to avoid the attack completely, per se, since the duck was still going to come into contact with the Sneasel, but at least it shouldn't stun her so much.

    There was a flux of energy in the air as the blue Pokemon focused. The Sneasel was digging around somewhere under their feet, and if she could lock onto him, she could start to turn the battle in her favor. The Dark-type had got a decent head start with the momentum of his first string of attacks.

    Suddenly, the Golduck's head twitched, and she focused on a spot about twenty feet in front of her. Ivy figured that the Sneasel was starting to climb up to the surface. Golddigger tensed, and then she leapt into the air. She did a flip to gain a little more momentum, and then she came crashing down to the ground at the same time the Sneasel broke through the snow.

    The two collided, though from the 'oomph' sound she heard, she figured the Sneasel was a little worse off. Sneasel went rolling into the snow while the Golduck was sent staggering back. She was wobbling unsteadily as she tried to keep her feet under her without falling backward.

    The Sneasel recovered first, and with a roll, he was up on his feet again and charging for the Trainer's Pokemon. His claws started to glow with a black-gray smoky energy, and Ivy thought it was probably a Shadow Claw. The Dark-type raked his claws across Golddigger, sending her to the ground as her balance was knocked off center. It was like she was sitting in the snowbank now.

    Luckily for her, the Sneasel went back closer to the boundary wall of the path, raking his claws against each other and creating sparks off of them. At least he didn't attack again.

    Ivy noticed that the Ice-type was breathing a little heavier, so that Aerial Ace must've done some good damage to him. However, wild Pokemon in the Park tended to fight to the fullest when they were at the end of the line, so Neon would still have to be careful.

    @WinterVines;

    Golduck wasn't ready to let this ice-type set the pace for this battle, so she chose to use this break period in a way for her to maximize potential damage to Sneasel. She quickly regained her cool and began to harness the psychic powers that the Golduck family was known for. She knew that she wasn't a psychic-type, so she wouldn't be able to find the dark-type with her powers alone. She calmed down and began to focus on the sound around her, hoping to find a clue she could exploit. She was so focused, that she could hear the landing of individual snowflakes, and those were her hint. She listened to how the landed, and how the sound changed as the ground under them shifted.

    It took her longer than a psychic-type would need, but she had found the rabbit just as it was starting to dig its way up and out of the ground. She prepared and leapt into the air, forming gray streaks around herself. If you didn't know it, you would think that she was flying. As the ice-type broke the surface, Golduck did a flip in midair and began her descent. She used the force of gravity to its best power and came directly into a collision with the crown of Sneasel's head.

    Both pokemon were damaged in the meeting, however one of the pokemon was being hit by gravity on top of just the regular attack. Sneasel was knocked backwards, while Golduck staggered. Sneasel wasn't happy with this result and decided to take actions into its own hands.

    The sharp claw pokemon started using those claws to slash at Golduck. Golduck could normally handle swipes like these, however she wasn't expecting them to gain a ghastly aura as the swiped. Now, even if she dodged, the aura that skimmed her body made her flinch or cringe in discomfort, allowing the next couple slashes to hit.

    Golduck distanced herself, and recovered to the best of her abilities. She was ready to get on the offensive and make this rabbit pay. Neon agreed, and he quickly though up a way to maximize damage while minimizing outside damage. He had an idea.

    He quickly gave his orders, "Golddigger, use water sport to catch him off guard and get some water around the battlefield. Then, I need you to use Waterfall to get him off the ground. Instead, of swimming through it and attacking, use that time to get under him and launch a powerful Aura Sphere up at him."

    Golduck nodded and began to gather water in its mouth.

    Ranger Ivy Frost

    ---

    Seeing the small window of opportunity they had as long as the Sneasel was a decent distance away, the Trainer immediately gave his next order. “Golddigger, use Water Sport to catch him off guard and get some water on the battlefield,” he said. “Then, I need you to use Waterfall to get him off the ground. Instead of swimming through it and attacking, use that time to get under him and launch a powerful Aura Sphere up at him.”

    It was an interesting combination, but Ivy didn't see the flaw in it until the Water-type had already begun her attack. The Ranger wasn't certain, but she didn't think the duck could learn Aura Sphere.

    Golddigger got up from the snow, taking a second to shake herself off. Then, she concentrated her webbed appendages. Water shot up in a mini fountain in front of her, formed by the snow already present. She just be using energy to manipulate it. A few other fountains sprouted along the path as well, forming small pools of liquid in spots. The Sneasel tilted his head curiously, not knowing what to think of it.

    That was when the Golduck struck, seeing that moment when the wild Pokemon wasn't paying complete attention. She charged forward, and the water surged with her as she slammed into the Sneasel, jetting fast across the surface of the water she created. Instead of being hurtled backward, however, the water underneath the Dark-type responded, and with a powerful whoosh, it launched the Sneasel upward.

    He flailed in the air, caught off guard by his midair trek. Eventually, he started to come down. Ivy looked to see what the duck was doing, but she was confused by Neon's last order. It seemed she didn't know the move after all. Unfortunately, Golddigger wasn't sure what to do.

    The Sneasel seemed to gain some control of his body, and as he sailed back down to the ground, he crossed both of his bladed arms over his chest. Then, just as he came down, he struck out with them in an X formation, slashing across the Golduck. He had picked up on her adding gravity strategy.

    Golddigger went rolling back toward Neon, throwing up snow as she crashed to the ground. The Sneasel landed on his feet after a shaky impact. He remained standing, but the Ranger could see that the Golduck's attacks had cost him. He was breathing much heavier now, and she could see faint scratches on his skin.

    The Dark-type backed up more to get a little distance between them, and then he took a big breath. A steady ice stream started to spew from his mouth. Ivy wasn't sure what he was going to do with it, but Neon should probably stop it before he attacked the Trainer's Pokemon.

    @WinterVines;

    Golduck started the plan perfectly, using water spout and bringing plenty of water up from the ground. Little fountains spouted out of the snow and collected puddles around the confused ice-type. Golduck used this mix of confusion and water to start the next part of its attack. It gathered up the water into a single point, and caused it to burst up out of the ground directly into Sneasel. Instead of the usual launching blast, the water came as an uppercut. It launched the sharp-clawed rabbit into the air. Everything was running perfectly.

    Then, Neon realized his mistake. By that time it was too late. He tried to call out to Golduck and switch his wording around, but the Golduck had already lost its momentum. The water stopped blasting, Sneasel regained its composure, and Golduck just looked confused at the mention of using Aura Sphere. Neon had meant to tell it to use Focus Blast, but it was too late. The Sneasel came down from the sky attacking with its claws in an x shape. The blades came down hard, using the backing of gravity like Golduck had done earlier. The attack hit and sent Golduck reeling. When enough space was between the two pokemon, the Sneasel began to let out a blast of cold icy wind.

    Neon had to think quickly as to how he could put this battle away, and catch athe pokemon he had wanted for quite some time. The ice was going to slow Golduck down, and any regular attacks would fall short of the ice-type. Neon developed a crazy enough plan to maybe land a hit and put an end to this battle.

    "Golduck, I need you to listen quick and listen well. I'm sorry for that last mistake, that is on me, but I won't make it again. What I need for you to do is use Aqua Jet to blitz through that breath of ice. The water should keep you safe from most of the ice. Then, use Psych Up to copy his Hone Claws technique, just use it on your tail instead. Then, while close enough, use that boosted attack and accuracy to land a dynamic Iron Tail. Got it? Now go!" shouted Neon hurriedly.

    Golduck nodded, knowing each of the moves mentioned this time.

    Neon took one look at the stream of ice coming from the Sneasel and knew he had to think fast before the attack did too much damage. The longer he waited, the more time the Dark-type would have to increase the technique's strength.

    If the Trainer kept this up, the Sneasel should get worn down pretty quick, giving him an opportunity for capture. Him bringing a disk along meant that he, or someone he knew, really wanted this Pokemon. They were lucky that the weather was holding out still. Sometimes they had to cancel runs early because of too dangerous conditions.

    “Golduck,” Neon said, “I need you to listen quick and listen well.” He then apologized for the previous move that Golddigger didn't know. Ivy understood. She often did a similar thing when filling out paperwork, thinking one thing and then writing something different. It happened. At least his Pokemon hadn't really suffered for it.

    “What I need for you to do is use Aqua Jet to blitz through that breath of ice,” he continued. The speed should probably help his Pokemon avoid some of the damage, since she wouldn't be in the freezing wind for very long. It was a good thing too, since she was going to be surrounded by water, and that froze easily. Neon then wanted her to use Psych Up so she could sharpen her own appendages like the Sneasel had, finishing off his combination with an Iron Tail.

    Without any wait, Golddigger jetted off as water flared up on her sides like a speedboat. She rushed through the center of the wind because it was the most direct route to the wild Pokemon, and a straight line was much faster than any sort of curve. The wind crackled nastily as the water rushed through it, but the Golduck paid it no mind. Instead, she slammed into the Dark-type.

    The Sneasel was knocked backward, rolling into the boundary wall where he stopped. Golddigger then focused, studying the wild Pokemon intensely as she tried to copy what he had done earlier. Her heightened senses would return to normal, but her new edge should help her out.

    She finished quickly, and like Neon had instructed, she ran off toward the Sneasel again. Before she would've hit him with the front of her body, she planted her foot and pivoted her whole body, making a swinging motion with her tail that gleamed silver. The appendage hit the Sneasel just as he was getting up, sending him flying back into the wall again.

    Ivy could tell he really felt these attacks now. One of his eyes was clenched shut, and it didn't look like he could open it. He realized he was backed against the wall too. His eyes flashed dangerously as he launched toward Golddigger and started scratching and clawing what he could with claws that were soaked in a dark energy. It seemed that he was trying to pay her back for all the damage she gave him.

    He didn't wait to see any response though. Almost as quickly as he struck, he kicked off of the Golduck and started flashing around the field, moving almost faster than her eyes could follow. He must be using Agility to try and keep his distance and momentum while waiting for the Water-type to do something.

    Ivy waited to see what Neon would do. The Sneasel was coming to the end of the line. All the Trainer had to do was find a good opportunity for a capture attempt.

    @WinterVines;

    Golduck sped off immediately upon receiving orders. That water that encased her held off the bite of the ice, and Golduck passed through the blast and collided with Sneasel. Golduck then followed orders and copied the dark-types's original stat boost, sharpening her tale. She then immediately closed the gap with Sneasel and spun her now glowing tail into the ice rabbit. Because of the extra sharpness and length, it struck fairly easily and did a significant amount of damage even launching Sneasel into the rock barrier.

    The obviously damaged Sneasel did its best to deal plenty of damage, slashing with plenty of dark aura wrapped around his claws. It knocked Golduck backwards dealing extra damage because of the beating he had taken. He then decided to start getting evasive. It chose to use a status move and got faster and faster. Suddenly, it began vanishing and reappearing all over the place. It would take something powerful to stop this move.

    "Golddigger, now that we have the upper hand, let's finish this. Use that speed against him, start a Water Spout. This ice-type isn't used to water around here. After you spread out the water, I'll distract it with a soothing fragrance plus, it will presumably lose focus and slip on the water. When it crashes I'll throw a superball," Neon finished.

    (OOC: Using Soothing Frangrance Plus and Superball after the Water Spout)

    Ranger Ivy Frost

    ---

    “Golddigger,” the Trainer called, “now that we have the upper hand, let's finish this.” Neon planned to use the Sneasel's dashing around against him, which was very smart.

    The field still had pockets of water around from the Golduck's previous attack. In fact, Ivy could hear it sloshing whenever the Dark-type sped through it. Neon ordered Golddigger to use Water Sport again to make the field even more wet.

    The Pokemon responded and caused more tiny fountains to erupt out of the snow, creating even more puddles of water. Some of the smaller ones joined with the others to create small ponds. Ivy's breath came out in white puffs and she watched, and it seemed that the water was starting to freeze too. It wasn't perfect, since not enough time had passed, but a thin film was definitely beginning to form on top of the water.

    She watched Neon pull out another bottle of the same fragrance he had used before. She really didn't see too many used, so it was pretty interesting to see that he carried so many of them. He sprayed the stuff and waited for it to take effect while he reached into his pocket for a Super Ball.

    The Ranger looked back to the field and saw that the Sneasel slowed down a little as a result of smelling the Pokemon-specialized perfume. Unforunately for him, he slowed on top of one of the puddles, and that caused him to slip and fall. Neon didn't waste any time after that, choosing to throw his ball.

    The device hit the Sneasel easily, and it sucked him inside with a beam of red light. The ball sank into the mushy water and lit up in the center, showing that the capture was a success.

    “Well that wasn't too difficult,” Ivy said as she went over to retrieve the ball. She shook it off a few times to let the slush fall off before putting this Pokemon in the same pocket as the Snorunt. “What next?” she asked.

    @WinterVines;

    Golduck could tell that there was already water around the battlefield, so she chose to bring up little spouts of water in the drier spots. The water came up and puddles formed, as well as slick segments of ice. This was perfect, and Neon knew it. He took out one of his sprays an used it to distract the speeding ice-type. The rabbit smelled it, and lost track of its footing for just a moment, but that was enough. Sneasel slipped on a patch of wet ice and Neon took advantage. He reached in his pocket and grabbed a superball, hurling it at the little pokemon. The beam shot out of the ball and the Sneasel was drawn inside. It wobbled once, twice, thrice and it was caught.

    Ivy walked over and collected the pokeball. She glanced around at the brewing snowstorm.

    "What next?" asked the ranger.

    "Well, I got what I came for, and I hear you guys have another event going on. I think I'll just take my winnings and get out of here," responded Neon.

    And with that they both headed off back down the trail to the Ranger's outpost.

    “Well, I got what I came for, and I hear you guys have another event going on. I think I'll just take my winnings and get out of here,” Neon said.

    Ivy understood; a lot of Trainers just came to certain areas of the Park looking for one or two specific Pokemon. Then they would leave and join another expedition. A lot of collectors were like that especially.

    “Okay,” she said, looking up at the sky. “It looks like it's starting to snow again anyway. We might as well get off this mountain before it gets bad.” She had no idea what was up with Oktori today, but there was no need to stay out in the elements.

    With a nod to Haji, she asked him to warp them back to the Main Outpost. The air rippled around her as they shifted locations. When it was over, they were standing in front of the main office building. The sun was shining and the air was warm, unlike Oktori had been.

    She went inside and configured his new Pokemon so they would be registered with his own ID. She gave Neon a paper to sign just to finish up that paperwork aspect, and then she waved as she departed. Then, she sighed. Now she would have to do her own paperwork.
