Buzz sat at his desk, his recent vacation had left him with a reasonably light work load in comparison to the others working within the Headquarters. Rumour had it that even the official head of the Park had started working. Buzz hadn't seen her around the office, but he hoped he would. He had some complaints about the attitude of some of the Elite Rangers.

He shrugged, causing his office chair to rotate. Buzz flicked through the history on the PC in front of him. Various websites peaked his interest, ranging from Pokémon Battling related to the less safe for work. He took a cursory glance at the list of trainers looking for rangers, most had already been claimed. There was a clear run at the Lakes, sighing he had been there a couple of times recently, but he wanted the money.

Buzz quickly typed up a simple response to the ranger request. The trainer's name was Kiryu, which was a particularly odd name, but that was nothing new. He had heard of people called Apple. He quickly packed up his supplies and grabbed River's Poké Ball. He had a feeling she was off with Ivy somewhere. He walked to the main gate to wait for his trainer.

It was one of the places he hated the most. The Great Lakes. He wanted to stay away from the damn place as much as possible but he was taking requests from certain people and couldn't argue with clients. He groaned as he stepped up to the gate that entered the Great Lakes. He remembered how much hell he caused here the last time so he reminded himself to be on his P's and Q's. Although, the claymore attached to his back would give a few scares but it was for self defense only if things came down to it. Almost like a massive Swiss army knife that could bifurcate a human being quite easily, but again, no worries.

The pokeballs on his belt gleamed in the sunlight as he approached the gate and looked around for his ranger.

Buzz was stood by the main door when he spotted a man walking towards him. Buzz automatically assumed this was his trainer for the day. "Hi, you must be Kiryu?" Buzz asked the boy, he nodded silently. He had no Pokémon beside him, Buzz wondered what kind of trainer he would turn out to be. This was often one of the most interesting parts of the run, finding out what the trainer is like. Some see Pokémon as partners and friends, others simply as battle tools. Buzz was of the opinion that Pokémon should be treated as partners but he saw no reason to force this upon anyone.

River, I could use a little transportation,Buzz thought. He had a telepathic link with his partner Pokémon, River Tam. She was a Xatu, they had been friends for a long time and she had developed a name for herself as being a deadpan sarcastic bitch. She often hung out with Ivy Frost, another ranger at the park, but the mind link enabled them to stay in contact.

"Oh so, I have to drop whatever it is that I'm doing to take you and another random person to some location in the park," River replied before there was a pink flash of light before his eyes. She fluttered in front of him, her green wings flickered in the sunlight. Buzz said nothing just gave an exasporated look, the pair did this dance every time they had to go somewhere, in the end River always gave in. "So where to?"

The Great Lakes Outpost, Buzz thought and then looked up at his trainer. "I hope you've travelled by Teleportation before." And with that they were off and in front of them lay the lakes. A fast area filled with multiple lake, both fresh and salt water. Forests lined the outer edges of the waters. Buzz looked around and took a lungful of fresh air. A shadow of a bird crossed overhead. Buzz looked up and saw a white and blue seagull. it landed in front of the two humans and the Xatu. There was a squak and then silence. "Well we have our first encounter of the day. Do you want to try and capture a Wingull?"

"Hi, you must be Kiryu?" said the ranger as Kiryu turned to face him.

It was all too plain at the Front Gate and he wondered how they would get to the lakes. He waited for a quick minute but then saw a bird looking Pokemon land down in front of Buzz in a pink flash. The exchanged words almost as if they were communication between glances. He watched as the Xatu had looked dejected, as if it gave in, and teleported them to the Great Lakes. It was vast and wide, a cool soft wind blew a leaf across the surface of one of the lakes. It seemed as if became more peaceful since he was last here. Less polluted and more glistening.

Hearing a slight squawking above then. A small white and blue bird Pokemon had flew above them and landed in front of the small group, giving a hearty "Wingull!". He watched it as Buzz asked if he wanted to capture it and it gave Kiryu some thought. He really didn't like ignoring the first Pokemon on a run but it really wasn't he was after. Pulling out his wallet, he pulled out $500 in Pokedollars and handed it to the ranger.

"One Pokedoll please. Its not so much what I'm after at the moment."

He felt sorry for the little bird and gave it a soft sincere smile. Maybe next time when he came back he would capture it but not today.

"One Pokedoll please. Its not so much what I'm after at the moment." Buzz smiled and threw a Clefairy doll as far as he could. It arced towards the water and the Wingull dived after it. The bird plucked the doll from the air just as it was about to plunge into the waters. Buzz understood, it wasn't a particularly strong Pokémon so it wasn't that surprising.

They continued up the path around the edge of the Lakes. Buzz had been to the lakes a couple of times recently and felt likee it was getting a bit repetetive. He had talked to some of the other rangers about areas in the Lakes hoping for something new and interesting. Ivy had mentioned an underwater cave that required breathing masks to get to. Buzz had made sure to pack them, since that sounded like a really cool place to go to later on in the run.

"So Kiyru, what Pokémon are you looking to capture here, and can you swim?" Buzz asked his companion.

Before the trainer could answer however there was a splashing sound coming from the water's edge. Buzz rolled his eyes around to look at the source. There was a red orange fish flapping around on the shore. "Oh. It's a Magikarp," Buzz said with a strained expression, "want to try and train one up?"

He continued walking along after Buzz hade threw the PokeDoll to gain the Wingull's attention. The brd Pokemon chirped and flew off with the Doll in its mouth. Quite a relief actually. He didn't want to harm the little thing. After passing it along he asked what kind of pokemon he was looking for and if he could swim.

“Hrm well maybe a Clampearl or possibly a Frillish. Anything that could be of use to me would be perfect." he said as he looked at the huge lake.

“And as for swimming, yes I can. Not something out of the olympics but I do a pretty damn good job." he said with a smile.

Then the sound of failure hit his ears. A red/orange looking fish was flopping along the shoreline saying “Karp, Magikarp". Ugh this was great. He pulled out his wallet and invested in a well earned PokeDoll.*

“Try knocking it into the lake. It's just cruel to see it flop around like that."

"Hrm, well maybe a Clampearl or possibly a Frillish. Anything that could be of use to me would be perfect," Kiyru said contemplating the Magikarp, as it flopped at the shoreline. "And as for swimming, yes I can. Not something out of the Olympics, but I do a pretty damn good job." Buzz smiled, he knew this would be important later on. At training they had been told that they weren't meant to let people swim at the Lakes, but Buzz figured that if there was an interesting area in the Lakes and the trainer could swim, there was no problem in it. Plus the lakes needed somewhere new.

Kiyru passed over some money for another Pokédoll and Buzz pulled it out ready to throw. “Try knocking it into the lake. It's just cruel to see it flop around like that," Kiyru said. Buzz laughed at that and obliged. The next Clefairy doll hurtled towards the the fish flinging it back in to the Lake. Buzz looked around quickly before setting off along the path that led around the lake. Pebbles lined the shore and the water lapped gently over the surface.

There was a blue creature playing on the waters edge, the tadpole-like creature's blue tail slapped at the water. The swirl on the front of its body gave it away as a Poliwag, another popular creature, especially now that Politoed had been discovered to possess the ability to instantaneously cause rain. Buzz wondered whether he would get to see Kiyru's battle style for the first time against the water type. "Well, want to capture a Poliwag?"

Not much he had seen so far interested him. A Wingull would be a risk with electric moves and he had a Gyarados already so another Magikarp wouldn't have been productive. He watched as they continued along. He often at times wondered what was beneath that lake. Something told him not to worry but what's the point of capturing Pokemon without a bit of adventure?*

The gravel under his feet made a bit of noise as he came upon a older generation Pokemon. Short, stubby, a little hypno-swirl on its stomach. It was definitely a Poliwag. He would capture it in a heart beat if her wasn't already trading for one with a friend. I was a shame though since Politoed could use Drizzle, an ability once only known to the Legendary sea leviathan Kyogre. He pulled out another 500 and paid for a PokeDoll.

It seemed that Kiyru wasn't interested in the Poliwag. Buzz sighed slightly, he knew it wasn't the ranger's choice which Pokémon the trainers battled, but when trainers didn't battle anything for a while it could get slightly boring. He shrugged and reached into his bag to pull out the next Poké Doll. He figured they had to find something Kiyru would want eventually. The doll arced through the air and landed in front of the small blue creature. It proceeded to begin smacking the doll with its little tail, giggling merrily. Buzz chuckled, Pokémon weren't always as intelligent as their abilities would imply.

"Well let's carry on Kiyru, I'm sure there will be something you want to battle today," Buzz said to Kiyru. Buzz looked to the sky, it was a reasonably clear day. The sun was shining but it was quite cool, although there was ominous clouds on the horizon. He hoped that the rain would stay off until they were at least underwater, then they would already be wet. Buzz looked around for where they should head to next. The lake curved around the stony shore up ahead, weaving in an out. Buzz couldn't remember what lay up the path but he figured it was the best way to go. He had a feeling the fishing pier was up ahead, they could use that as their point of call for swimming down to the underwater cave.

Buzz set off around the lake, he looked around for Pokémon for Kiyru to battle and try and capture. There was a rustling in the bushes up ahead and suddenly there was a pink bipedal creature walking in front of them. It featured a very large shell like crown. It was a Slowking, renowned for their psychic capabilities. Buzz turned to Kiyru and said, "Well its a Slowking, very powerful, do you want to catch it?"

He smiled at the little Poliwag as it messed around with the PokeDoll, vanishing into the bushes. All the Pokémon he had seen so far would win appeal points for cuteness but he wasn't fairly sure how they would fair in a general battle. He knew that some contests often made use of a Pokemons battling skill but he wouldn't be fully convinced until it was used in a gym battle.

"Well let's carry on Kiryu, I'm sure there will be something you want to battle today," said Buzz as they continued on as they reached a stony pathway. He saw a small dock that seemed like it would lead to a hidden cove. Perhaps some deep sea exploring would be in order for them. He watched as Buzz turned up to the sky and Kiryu did the same. It was a fairly beautiful day for exploring the park. Such sights only came about every so often so it was important to savor every moment.

The dock was fairly large, wide enough for a Torterra to walk through it. He was about to walk onto the pier but saw Buzz looking around for something. Suddenly a giant pink Pokémon walked in front of them. It had a massive red crown on top of its head. The crown housed a beautiful red jewel that glistened in the sun light.


"Well it’s a Slowking, very powerful, do you want to catch it?" Buzz asked me as I turned to him and nodded.

“A Slowking seems…useful.” I replied as I reached on my belt and tapped all the way down to the fourth PokeBall. It pulled it from the clip and pressed the red circular button in the middle, expanding it to full size. The shine of the black and gold design of the Ultra Ball was reflected by perfect craftsmanship. I reared back and tossed it into the air a few feet. The release mechanism activated and in a flash of white light a tall, lithe Pokémon appeared. The top half was green while the bottom was while. Its arms were long and had what seemed to be blades on the ends of them. The head of the creature seemed to resemble a gladiator helmet but considering it was a fighting type, it wasn’t too out there. The Gallade rose to his feet and smiled slightly as it turned to us and began speaking to both of us telepathically.

“I see were on a run. Who’s the unlucky bastard that gets to feel my blades today?

Turning to Buzz, Kiryu apologized for his Gallade’s, Exia, behavior.
He was a rowdy Pokémon that love to fight. Not uncommon but it was like an urge it had to be in any fight he happened to see. Almost like he had the Pokémon version of ADD or ADHD. Either way, he was ready to get into the fray.

“Over there. The Slowking is your target.” Kiryu said as he smiled and was ready to fight.

“Start with Hypnosis.”

“Understood.” Exia said enthusiastically and glared at the Slowking as his eyes glowed a light blue and send massive, semitransparent blue shock wave towards the Slowking and waited to see the outcome. This is just a test move to begin with. After all, what’s the point of starting out with a cheap trick?

Buzz watched as Kiyru pressed the centre but of the Poké Ball releasing the human-like Pokémon Gallade. The release mechanism activated and in a flash of white light; a tall, lithe Pokémon appeared. Buzz knew that anyone who had a mind link with a Pokémon was capable of hearing other Pokémon's telepathic communications; River said it was something to do with the strengthening of the human brain's perception of psychic energy. Buzz simply shrugged as a response, he was slightly taken aback by the aggressive nature of the Gallade's statement but it wasn't anything new.


“Over there. The Slowking is your target,” Kiryu said, after saying a quick apology for Gallade's behaviour, “start with Hypnosis.” Exia nodded his approval, but Buzz looked over to the Slowking a smile had crept along its face.

"Understood," Exia said.

"Understood alright, you're not going to put me to sleep that easily," the Slowking replied. Buzz jumped about a foot into the air. He had been watching the Slowking's mouth move and he had heard the words rather than them being played within his head. Slowking could talk.

Before the Gallade could even move to begin the Hypnosis attack, a sparkling film had covered Slowking's body. Buzz didn't voice his thoughts but he knew this as Magic Coat, it was the same effect that happened when River harnessed her Magic Bounce ability. It meant that Hypnosis was about to be reflected. It was too late to change the attack though, Gallade's eyes had begun to glow a light blue.

A large, blue tinted shockwave was released heading towards the Magic Coated Slowking. The wave rebounded with a crack as it was now heading towards the Gallade. Buzz knew that Kiyru would have to move quick if he was going to escape his lead Pokémon falling asleep.

"Understood alright, you're not going to put me to sleep that easily," the Slowking replied.

The fuck? said Exia, obviously saying what I was thinking. Sure he could understand Pokemon but for Buzz and Kiryu to hear plain English was quite odd.

"Exia get moving!" Kiryu yelled as he was the reflected wave of the Hypnosis attack come back at him.

Using his strong leg muscles, Exia bounded into the air and came back down in a swift motion, getting read as his blades shined in the sunlight. The Slowking talked and that was the biggest thing that baffled Kiryu. Pulling out his PokeDex he had received from Unova and scrolled through it. Salamence...Scyther..Slowking! Apparently when the Shellder clamps on the Slowpokes head, it releases a poison that makes the Slowpoke smarter, thus making a Slowking. It also shows that every time it yawns, the Slowking gets smarter. He wondered how it would fare intellectually with his Metagross. Exia turned back to me and sent me a message.

"So how are we going to play this?" the fighting type said as it moved a little, keeping a trained eye on the Slowking.

"Not sure...this thing is smart but I'm sure it doesn't have much of a defense. Think I should go in for a assault or move around it somehow?"

"Not sure..think you can pull off a Double Team?" I thought as I eased up a bit.

Gallade nodded and glowed white for a faint second before multiplying into 8 clones. They all surrounded the Slowking and got ready. Slowking was smart but he was sure it couldn't stop a 8 pronged attack...hopefully. Gallade got ready for any commands that were going to be given. Using his mind link he sent his commands to Gallade. One was to order the clones to attack while Exia uses Bulk Up. Nodding, the other clones rushed the Slowking while he flexed his muscles as he gained a crimson colored aura around it.

Unfortunately however the Hypnosis wave was just too close. It clipped the lower part of Exia's leg upon the jump. Buzz knew it wouldn't have the same effect, as if it had hit full on, but it could still cause problems.

Buzz watched as the pair seemed to be communicating telepathically, it was a common technique and something rangers had to get used to. Suddenly, Gallade nodded and glowed white for a faint second before multiplying into eight clones. They all surrounded the Slowking and got ready.

Buzz was imressed, Double team could be very useful in catching the opponent Pokémon off guard. The Gallade all seemed to rush at the pink Pokémon, but it didn't move, instead there was a wave of telekinetic energy that forced its way from the Slowking. The onslaught of Gallade evaporated immediately.

Its eyes flicked rapidly around to the one remaining Gallade, there was a evil look in its eyes. Buzz had seen Thundera, his Raichu, with that look across its face so many times; Nasty Plot. It was a vital move for the rodent Electric type.

Gallade meanwhile, was flexing his muscles. The battle was only beginning, there was still a long way to go.

While Exia was busy using Bulk up, the Slowking was easily dismissing the clones off with a simple Psywave. I watched as it soon had a nasty glint in its eyes and that proved to be not good at all. It was a Nasty Plot, a move that boosted a Pokemons Special Attack greatly. For Exia, a Gallade, that wouldn't be too much to worry about but in the end it could still hurt. They needed to switch up game plans and fast. He watched as the aura faded away from Exia and it seemed for the most part stronger. Bulk Up generally increased the Pokemon's attack and Defense stats so that would keep it occupied for a while. Kiryu watched the Slowking as the nasty look faded from its eyes. He was quite the contender.

Slowking was fairly smart so I wondered why it never used it to its advantage. Exia thought so too but it was using a majority of his his psychic power to keep the Slowking from reading his thoughts. The Slowking was a bit to crafty for his tastes but he was going to keep on fighting. This brought him back to a strategy he was thinking of trying out since the situation called for it. It involved a bit of flair but it would have to do. He turned to Exia and both nodded at the same. The Gallade jumped back a few few feet, waiting for the right moment. As soon as he landed, Kiryu began his plan.

"Leaf Blade!"

Normally a power boost would be very hard to notice but this boost as enormous. The blade on Gallade's arms started to glow light green and form into long blades. Exia then slashed at the Slowking with both, one after the other but the slashes created waves of energy, not actual slashes. The waves off green energy crashed into the rock formation behind it. Most likely the Slowking would dismiss the energy wave which lead to phase two. Subconsciously, he was told to teleport and he did. In a flash of white, it warped away from the battlefield for a split second. It then reappeared in the air as a black spot in the middle of the sun. It was fairly high up and with the Bulk Up from earlier, this attack would hurt. A lot.

"Night Slash but keep it weak!"

Exia nodded and prepped its blade arm and it glowed a sickly black with a red outlin on the end. As he came down with a fast speed, Exia was ready.

"GETSUG-wait wrong thing. NIGHT SLASH!" he roared as he swung his blade arm down as he approached the Slowking who was hopefully blinded by the sun despite Exia's large figure.

There was a nod between the Gallade and Kiyru, Buzz was enjoying the battle as both just seemed to be warming up and testing the waters so to speak. "Leaf Blade!" Kiryu called out.

Slowking reacted very nimbly throwing up a green shield around itself as the two the green waves encroached. Unfortunatly it was moments too slow and part of the first wave was ahead of the Protect. Slowking shuddered, as there was a flash from Exia.


"Night Slash but keep it weak!" called Kiyru. The Slowking looked up just in time, suddenly there was a large pink field that formed around the two Pokemon. A square translucent box had appeared and Gallade was now falling very slowly compared to the speedy Slowking.

Slowking dodged the Night Slash swiftly causing Exia to crash into the ground. The blades split the ground causing debris to fly up. The shrapnel hurtled into the Slowking, who was blinking furiously as the dirt irritated its eyes.

Suddenly Slowking began to harness the moisture in the air at its tail, Buzz could see the Steam building around the water droplets. Soon a wave of boiling water was crashing down upon the Gallade. Buzz thought Kiyru would have to do something quick or face a serious struggle.

Exia was slowed down quite a bit. The Trick Room had engulfed him in a pink square as soon as he was within range. That gave Slowking the advantage with this as he swiftly dodged the Night Slash attack, however he was struck by the shards on the ground. That still cause a considerable amount of damage. That didn't slow him down however. The Slowking had concentrated its energy into its tail and released a massive steaming wave going towards Exia. Before his eyes, Exia was in one of those moments where time slowed down and couldn't hear anything except you're own heartbeat. His eyes were on the wave the entire time. He could hear the gentle, placid waters cresting back and forth as it hit the edges of the lake, lapping over the stone barriers that encompassed it. The trees were rustling back and forth as were the bushes. His sense became heightened for a brief moment in time. He was completely aware of the situation right now and it was amazing.

Kiryu blinked for a split second and ordered another command.

“Use Leaf Blade and spin at maximum velocity!"

The Gallade snapped out of his daze and ignited both of his arm blades with radiant green energy. The blades sharpened as he got in to his stance quickly and spun around, taking the attack head on. Since Leaf Blade was a Grass Type attack, the Water Type move wouldn't do as much as a direct hit would but Kiryu had other ideas. Linking up to Exia again, he calle for a Mid Spin Substitute. The spinning Gallade glowed white for a few second and out popped Exia while the clone was still spinning. Exia had used his life-force to create a similar clone in his likeness.

“Have the clone send the attack right back!"

“With pleasure!" roared Exia as the substitute rotated faster, swirling the water around with its rotational force. Soon there was a steaming whirlpool heading right back towards the Slowking. The Gallade had turned to his trainer, who had also commanded another Bulk Up. This time was essential to get as much use as possible or else it wouldn't matter at all. This Slowking was one step ahead of them so they needed to be three.

Buzz watched as the water washed over the mid-air Gallade before Kiyru called out, "Use Leaf Blade and spin at maximum velocity!" The Gallade's blade-like arms extended; becoming laced with a green energy as the water began to spiral off.

A few moments later, the spinning Gallade glowed white for a few second and out popped Exia while the clone was still spinning. Exia had used his life-force to create a similar clone in his likeness. Clearly it was a subsitute, this confused Buzz as Kiyru's next tactic seemed to indicate the substitute was a real life creature, as oppose to the shell created to prevent damage. “Have the clone send the attack right back!"

Buzz was shocked to watch as the Gallade form began to spin, a whirl of water around it. Kiryu wanted the water to be fired back at the Slowking but it just didn't seem to work, as the attack from Slowking ended the water seemed to run out of steam. as the whirpool faded along with the Substitute.

Slowking looked on patiently as he saw the Gallade begin to Bulk Up once again, Buzz could almost see the grin that ran across the pale yellow mouth. It seemed to watch the Gallade, a faint glow had connected the two Pokémon. Then Buzz knew why the Slowking had smiled. He had used the technique many times with River; Psych Up. It copied all the opponents raised powers. In this case sharply raising its Attack and Defense in one go.

It then launched into a head on attack; quite literally. The shell atop its head, that was once a Shellder, was heading directly for the Exia. Buzz could see that Kiyru wouldn't have any time to stop the oncoming Slowking. A radiant glow surrounded the Slowking as it launched into a Zen Headbutt. The Slowking was just too fast in the Trick Room.

Slowking crashed into the Gallade sending them both hurtling to the ground. It seemed somewhat out of character for such an intelligent being to launch into a head on attack, but clearly it had spotted an opportunity and perhaps there was more to it. Time would tell.

Buzz was eager to see where the battle would go now.

That Slowking was a feisty one. It managed to pull off several impressive moves and even get Exia to the half way mark. He would make an excellent edition to the team. First he needed a way to slow the Slowking down and hoping he wouldn't yawn as it would increase his brain power. That just meant Kaiser had to be smart...like that was an option. He already had the mind link he shared with Exia so that would limit the amount of influence over us but could Slowking read our minds? Could it really tap into the mind of another psychic Pokemon with ease? No, he doubted that extremely. Then he got an idea. If he used Imprision, that would cut his move pool greatly. That didn't mean Exia would be safe but it would give him a better fighting chance. Their move pools differed greatly so Exia could still get a Leaf Blade or Night Slash off. That would have to do for now.

"Exia use Imprision!"

The Fighting type had growled and raised his arms to the sky. Soon energy began radiating around him, purple and blue in color. The power was unshaped, lucid as well. It would release in a sphere that would go beyond the Trick Room barrier. This would limit the amount of moves Exia can use as well as Slowking. Since both were Psychic types, moves like Psychic or Zen Headbutt would be unusable. Any move Gallade knew that Slowking knew would be unusable. This would give us a slight advantage as it left us the power to use Bulk Up and Swords Dance if needed. We also had X-Scissor, Night Slash and Leaf Blade at our disposal. Very decent looking odds. All that was left to deal with would be Trick Room which set the field up so that the slower Pokemon would move faster. That would be a major issue. Normal Haxing moves wouldn't be possible either, Hypnosis failed the first time after all. Perhaps there was a way to get his speed against him. Ahh the field.

"Exia use Earthquake, shatter the field!!"

Exia created fists out of his hands and smashed them together, creating multiple shock waves beneath him. He then slammed both fists to the ground, creating spider webbed cracks all along the are they were in. The plan wasn't damage, it was entrapment. Since Slowking was fast, he would use its speed against it. No doubt it would attempt to strike Exia head on so using Earthquake, it will make a few obstacles and if by luck, trap its legs so it couldn't move. He had used this strategy once before with Lucario and a herd of Tauros.

"This needs to work...."

OOC: Sorry this took a while. I had stuff to do and posts are always harder when I join a run already started.

Houndoom's eyes stayed focused ahead; his gaze moving rapidly to scan the area for any new targets. In my hand, I had a thin clay disk ready behind my back. I stood out of Houndoom's watch as I chucked it high into the air. Without even the slightest budge, he took a slight breath and shot out a ball of fire which met the target dead-on in its flight path.

"Your accuracy has improved," I said to Houndoom as I petted him. He returned a smile since it was a job well done.

Suddenly, I heard a piercing noise coming from the sky. An object faded into view; from the red color, I could tell it was a national park helicopter. We never use those except in the case of emergency. I wondered what was the problem. Before I could begin to rationalize, my radio sounded in my pocket.

"Mason, are you there?" my radio sounded.

"Uhh yeah go ahead," I responded

"Bill, this is ranger outpost bravo. One of our rangers got transferred out, and we have an unattended run as of right now."

Bravo? That was the great lakes," I thought to myself.

"Yeah I think I can take it," I accepted

"Thanks Mason. Helicopter is on its way over,"

The noise became louder as the wind picked up and the helicopter descended. "Yeah, I can see that," I said comically.

"It will take you to your trainer. Kiryu is his name. Thanks again Bill. Outpost out."

I quickly jumped onboard the helicopter before it could even touch the ground completely, and we zipped off. As we entered into the Great Lake atmosphere, I could see something shimmer in the distance toward the docks. Fading into visibility, there was a blue box around two sprawling Pokemon. I knew that was probably a Trick Room. Descending, I could see it was a Gallade and a Slowking. From the former, I saw a purple and blue shimmer scatter around the barrier and even beyond that. Was this an imprison? Clearly it was. Slowking tried to summon a blue aura to use psychic. It turned purple as he cried out a little. Using an imprisoned move was known to cause pain to the user.

He was not out of options though. With a simple flex, a veil of water formed around his tail. Before Gallade could smash his fists, Slowking began charging at him. Gallade connected with the ground as Slowking bashed him with his tail, knocking him off balance a little. Nevertheless, the ground began shaking as the blue screen around them began to crack. I never knew Earthquake could be used that way. Before the room shattered though, Slowking wanted one more shot with his speed. Now behind Gallade, Slowking raced with all his might and slammed into Gallade. Gallade was face down on the ground for about 2 seconds before getting up as the blue room of trickery shattered.

The helicoptor finally landed as I called out to the trainer and his Pokemon. "You guys ok?" I asked.

He watched the helicopter come about as the man zipped down before it could even hit the ground. Apparently there was a transfer so he was getting a ranger.
