It was cold and cloudy. I was recovering from a sickness and I wasn't very pumped to go out on this trip. But I guessed it was good for me; I needed the exercise and this run was in the Plant.

I leaned against the counter in the kitchen room, coffee in one hand and folder in the other. It was labelled "Master". I almost spurted my coffee on the folder when I saw it and had to cough in my effort not to.

    Master... lol..

I placed my coffee on the table and sat down to read his profile.

Garchomp, Jolteon, Tyranitar, Froslass... jeez. And look at those EMs.

I allowed a bit of excitement to well up in me as I continued to read his stats. This guy was definitely not on his first run. After looking at as many profiles as I had, I knew that he knew what he was doing. I replaced the papers and closed the folder before tucking it under my right arm. I poured a bit more coffee and walked back to my office to get ready.

    :bounce::bounce::bounce:

After putting on my jacket and gathering a few supplies for the day, I was ready to go. I waved to Sam, Bee and Chainy as I passed the lounge; they seemed to be having some sort of discussion about and a map of the underground that they had laid out across the table there. I shrugged and kept walking, making a mental note to ask them about it later. I let out Blades, one of two Pokemon that I had selected to accompany me on the run, and held the door for him as we walked into the chilly weather.

It was foggy out on the water. I approached the dock with Blades at my side and waited for the ferry to arrive. Suddenly, I saw a shady figure loom out of the mist and glide towards the edge of the dock...

I walked along through the mist, doing some final checks for myself. Park balls, healing items, voice disk, repellants, Honey, fragrances, and a lot of other junk. Six pokemon on my waist, ready to go out into a battle. I was ready to catch some electric types. Hopefully I could get some good mons to show up, better than what had appeared on my last run.

As I neared the edge of the water, I spotted a dark shadow standing there, every characteristic unrecognizable. "Hello," I called. "Are you my ranger for this trip?"

Before the boat had even docked, a voice rang out.

"Hello. Are you my ranger for this trip?" I stepped forward and the mist thinned as I closed distance. I soon saw the small, brightly colored National Park ferry, its reserved minder, Bert, and Master. Master stepped onto the dock when it got close enough to do so, and held out his hand.

"Yeah, I'm Jake. My Gallade is going to teleport us to the location. Are you ready?" Master nodded and I looked back at Blades. He just looked at me. I began to feel light, like my body wasn't actually there. The setting became fuzzy and pink, and for a moment I coudln't see anything. The floating sensation halted and my feet felt ground. The plant loomed into sight gradually as we materialized in front of it.

I motioned for Master to follow and we entered the plant. The first room was vast, a lobby. Large windows allowed the sparse light from the cloudy day to flood in, but I knew that the areas we would be going to were not lighted.

I turned to Master and he stopped. "I noticed that none of your Pokemon have the move Flash, so I've brought along flashlights for us. Their light is more limited than a Pokemon using Flash though. Just remember to bring Flash along next time." I pulled the two MiniMags from my pack and replaced it on my back. Then, I handed one to Master, hooked mine onto a beltloop and turned back to the nearest entrance.

We began to pace to the door, but I stopped. Something was... wrong.

"What is it?" Master asked. I looked at our surroundings. They looked pretty normal. Some broken chairs, scattered papers, a potted house-plant, an overturned metal cart... Wait. A house-plant? I approached it and gave it a poke. The sturdy looking stalk mushed like putty around my finger and I withdrew, a little disgsted. Wiping my hand on my pants, I watched as the plant melted down into an adorable, chickling, pink blob. It morphed its face into mine only with a dumb, surprised look. I chuckled and looked at Master.

    "What about a Ditto?"

"Nah, I think I'm fine," I replied. "Ditto's cool and all, with its shape-shifting abilities, but it's not really anything I'm looking for. Can we keep moving? Oh, by the way, I happened to bring along a Pokeplayer with a voice disk for it. I'm mainly hoping to catch a specific pokemon, and I heard this can attract it."

As I said this I switched on my Pokeplayer, and a strange, annoying sound came out. I knew this cry well. It was the sound of a Porygon, a Pokemon I hoped to find on this adventure.

Oh, by the way, I happened to bring along a Pokeplayer with a voice disk for it. I'm mainly hoping to catch a specific pokemon, and I heard this can attract it."

I nodded as he removed a small, yellow disk player and slipped a labelled disk into it. A sound like the squeal of a TV emanated from the disk. It wavered and scratched intermittenly; it was ghostly.

Apparently the Ditto thought so too. When I looked back at the small pink blob, it was no longer smiling jokingly, but looking at Master with panic in his eye. I was wary, but knew that it couldn't attack until it transformed. Unfortunately, so did it. It looked around frantically and noticed Blades. The second I saw it notice my Gallade, my heart sank. Blades was built to destroy.

The blob begain to grow, flashing bright shades of green and red and blue. Soon, it had congealed into a basic replica of Blades. It took a defensive stance and looked at us more confidently.

"Well, I guess you'll have to battle it."

"Fortunately, I prepared for this," I said to Jake. "I figured this would go over like my last run, with a thousand wild pokemon being encountered and only two not minding if I walked away. So, I bought myself a few of these."

As I said this, I reached into my pack and pulled out a pokemon doll. It was a knee-high clefairy, that for some reason distracted wild pokemon long enough for the trainer who used it to get away. I tossed the thing to the ditto, figuring it could have some fun mimicking the doll.

    OOC:  Double encounter.

"Fortunately, I prepared for this. I figured this would go over like my last run, with a thousand wild pokemon being encountered and only two not minding if I walked away. So, I bought myself a few of these."

He pulled out a Clefairy doll. Almost immediately, the Ditto's expression changed from panic, to utter joy. Its eyes glittered and it held out its now badly formed arms to recieve the doll when Master tossed it. When the Pokemon finally did catch it, it didn;t really look like a Gallade. It was waist height and looked more like a poorly-drawn, Gallade-colored Swalot. It was holding the doll in its hands and making noises while chewing on it.

"Nonghmnm..." It had a dazed look in its eyes and I gave it a bit of a stare.

"Well, I guess we'll move on now." I motioned for Master to follow after some amused watching and we went deeper into the plant. Past the doors in the lobby, was a hallway that stretched for a bit, with doors on either side every fifteen meters or so. We walked in silence for a while with our flashlights now out.

I stopped as heard a noise. A distant clahsing of metal on metal sounded. I shined my light into the distance. I couldn't see anything in particular. I closed my eyes to see if I could place the sound. It was like crashing metal. It was high and resounding and kinda sounded like clicking gears...

"Get down!" I grabbed master and smashed him to the ground with me as Blades pulled a bright blue protective barrier around us; and in the nick of time. A spray of small, bullet-like gears cascaded into the hallway as not one, but two Klang screamed towards us. They smashed into each other with a strong magnetic force, and rebounded sveral times against the wall and the Protect. They were pissed at each other.

"You want two Klang?" I called over the hubub.

"Sweet, that is something I want to catch. I've heard these things are pretty awesome, and I think I'll try and get one," I said, more talking to myself then Jake. "Now, which mon would be the best choice to catch this thing with?"

I stared at the Pokeballs on my belt, trying to figure out which one would work best for trying to catch one of these pokemon. Garchomp and Tyranitar could both hit them hard, Jolteon could paralyze them, making them easier to catch, Alakazam could do a lot, and Froslass could destroy it with its status moves. Ultimately, I decided to go with Garchomp and Alakazam, for a mixture of power, speed, and status conditions.

I tossed both their pokeballs up into the air, and in a bright flash of light, the two pokemon stood before me. One, a physical monster, easily able to crush anything in its path. The other, a wise pokemon, who's mind was extremely powerful, and attacks it created with it, even more powerful. Brawn and brain, these two powerhouses would be more than a match for these two pokemon.

"Alright, Chomp, I want you to take out one of these two first, so I we don't have to worry about them. I want you to rush one of them head on with a fire fang. Melt their gears with your intense flames and power. Hit it from behind, while its distracted with fighting the other one. Kazam, I want you to time your attack to hit at the same time as Chomp's. Right before Chomp bites the one, I want you to hit the other with a Focus blast. Launch it straight into its back, that way it won't know what's coming. Neither of you should have any trouble hitting your targets, as they seem to be preoccupied with trying to defeat each other. We add a little more pain to the mix, they might just end up fighting each other until one of them is finished. That, or they both team up against us. Either way, we can take them," I said, smiling at my own strategy as Chomp and Alakazam began to ready their attacks.

OOC: Try to describe your moves more. And I'm nicer when you add a lot of detail to your NBPs. ;)

"Sweet, that is something I want to catch. I've heard these things are pretty awesome, and I think I'll try and get one. Now, which mon would be the best choice to catch this thing with?"

I wasn't really paying attention to Master as he decided which Pokemon he was going to use. I pulled myself up to a kneel and looked a Blades. He looked as if he was holding up fairly well. His eyes were open and glowing the same iridescent blue as the Protect move.

I got up to my feet and tapped the other Poke ball on my waist. Blades adjusted the shield to accompany the new Pokemon. Empress, my Tyranitar, stood a good seven feet tall. She surveyed the situation and then looked at me.

"This trainer wants to battle those Pokemon, so I need to you trap them in. You think you can?" Before I had even finished, though, Empress's eyes glowed and then faded. A burgundy film blocked the way out into the lobby where the two Klang were headed, and they bounced off of it as they met Block attack. Realizing, finally, that thier battle was being intercepted, they hummed over to the shield and began to smash their hard bodies against it.

Master had finally selected some Pokemon and he tossed two Pokeballs into the air, catching them as they fell back to his hands. Blades bubbled the Protect out to fit a Garchomp and Alakazam. I could tell that he was straining now because his eyes were closed, and I wasn't surprised; the Protect was big enough to be a small studio apartment.

Master gave his commands to the Pokemon and they turned to the ferocious Pokemon. Blades pulled the Protect off of them and they jumped into action. Garchomp dove under them with speed and Alakazam began to focus his energy into an orange orb that began to coalesce in his hands.

Strangely, the two Klang stopped their attacks and let loose beams of light. These lights glittered an invigorating orange and pulsed outward with energy. The Pokemon began to turn their gears faster and faster. Garchomp was preparing to spew fire from his mouth, and Alakazam had his Focus Blast the size of a dodge ball; they were all almost ready.

The two Klang linked eachothers' corresponding gears together and began to ricochet across the sides of the hallway. Garchomp spat the flames out but was soon smashed in the face twice. The Focus Blast shot premature from Alakazam, but was only bounced back at him as the tag team gear Pokemon rocketed towards him and hit him on the stonmach and arm, causing him to be smashed back into the Protect.

I winced as Alakazam and Garchomp struggled to their feet and prepared for the next move...

"Alright guys, I know that last attack must have hurt, but you gotta hit them back, and harder. No more mister nice guy. Alakazam, I want you to blast these things, hard. Hit them with another Focus Blast. And Chomp, I think you should stir things up a little. Let's try a little range attacks, with a Flamethrower. Toast them up, and give Kazam some time to hit them with a Focus Blast," I ordered them, quickly responding to the Klang's last attack. Unfortunately, I knew they would be trouble, as they had tremendous speed at this point, and power to back it up. Another clean shot or two, and Chomp and Kazam would be done for.

OOC: You really need to add more quality to your posts. Just because these Pokemon have a low capture rate doesn't mean that you can make your posts have less quality.

Toast them up, and give Kazam some time to hit them with a Focus Blast," Legend ordered. The Klang were already in action, thier gears shining a blinding brightness. They began to vibrate with movement. They separated and became two balls of shining metal.

Chomp had begun to charge its Flamethrower attack as the Pokemon finished with the first of their moves and was almost finished when one of the Klang let loose the second. A flash illuminated the hallway and from behind the Protection from Blades, I saw bright blue pulses ematating electrically from it. I knew this type of attack to be Discharge, an electrical move that involved releasing large amounts of electricity with unrestrained power.

When the light and pulsing died down, I saw one of the Klang glued somehow to a light fixture and Alakazam kneeling on the ground to recover from the attack. It seemed, though, that Chomp was fine as its immuity to such typed moves had taken effect.

It was ready to launch its attack and began to spray and sputter the flames all over the hallway from afar. At first it looked as though Legend had scored his first steady and decent attack. However, a blast of brilliantly multicolored light broke through the spray of flames and smashed straight into Chomp's midestion and knocking him back into the Protect. I winced as the smoke dispersed to reveal one of the Klang hovering i the middle of the hallway and the other struggling to break away from the fixture to which it had been magnetized as an effect of the other's Discharge attack.

I looked at Legend next to me inside the Protect and waited, as his recovering Pokemon did, for his next command...

"Alrighty, then. These things are starting to get on my nerves. And, as nothing seems to work against them that well, I think I'll just let them be. Quick, let's see if they won't mind if we try and leave these things alone and try and find something else. These things don't interest me that much, anyway," I announced, calling back Chomp and Alakazam, and pulling a cute little pokedoll out of my bag just in case. "I ran into a lot of situations last time I was in the park, which ended up with me spending a lot on these things, but they sure were helpful. If these things try to follow us, we'll see if this can persuade them to go away."

"Alrighty, then. These things are starting to get on my nerves. And, as nothing seems to work against them that well, I think I'll just let them be. Quick, let's see if they won't mind if we try and leave these things alone and try and find something else. These things don't interest me that much, anyway," Master commented mildly. I bit my tongue. I thought Master was underestimating the power and anger that these Pokemon wielded. Then again, an escape was an escape. Rules were rules. It was on my shoulders to help him. He clicked his Pokeballs and his two Pokemon melted into red light before streaming towards him in a flash.

Before I started, however, he removed a small, pink doll from his pack and held it for me to see, commenting, “I ran into a lot of situations last time I was in the park, which ended up with me spending a lot on these things, but they sure were helpful. If these things try to follow us, we'll see if this can persuade them to go away." I remembered that he had used one on the Ditto.

Well, at least he’s prepared, I thought. Blades looked up at me with a grudging face. He knew that there was a slim chance of our escape without his heavy involvement. And he was right.

I looked up at the two Klang. The one attached to the empty light socket was currently shredding the ceiling to whcihc it was attached by grinding furiously. It paused in this motion and realized that it was still battling. Then, something quite odd happened.

Just as the second Klang hovered in front of the first, the first jumped forwards angrily with an attampt to escape as well as what I supposed was a Vicegrip attack. It caught the Klang 2 in between the gear portion of the smaller gear, and the flat portion of the larger. Taken aback at this suprise treachery, Klang 2 turned around and began to fire beams of fizzing electricity at and around Klang 1. This turned out to be the exact wrong thing to to. Klang 1 took a little damage from this and then realized that it was free from the socket. It relentlessly tackled Klang 1 and headed towards the far side of the perimeter.

“Open the Block, Empress!” I said, fascinated with this surprising turn of events. Empress did so and the Klang went hurtling off towards the main lobby. Sensing no more danger, Blades released the Protect. and stood up straight.

“Huh. Well that was unexpected,” I commented before returning Empress to her Pokeball. I directed Master further along the hall until we reached a door that had been bashed down on one corner. Electricity flickered from the dark inside; no electricity had comeout of the plant in over 20 years. That indicated the definite presence of a Pokemon. I leaned over to Master and said, ”Would you like to explore that room or continue through this hallway?

I stared at the space where the two monstrous gears had been brutally fighing just seconds beforehand before following with my eyes what Jake was referring to. I stared at the spot, with electricity sporatically lighting up the inside for a brief second before plunging it back into blackness. I stood there, thinking for a second on what to do. Then I decided on my choice. These halls weren't going to give me an easy find to the pokemon I was looking for. The ones I wanted were much rarer than the others, and very unique. I was especially looking for a Porygon and a Rotom. This way might be lit by a rotom, jumping around through the wires; as it did so it most assuredly must give off some light and electricity. Porygon, as a very rare and computerized pokemon, also wouldn't be found along this standard hallway, but more likely in this deserted one, away from all that would harm it, and the light could be from it giving off some. Then again, this side path might be crawling with powerful electric types. After a second, though, I remembered I came in here with a Tyranitar, and a Garchomp. Electric types were the least of my worry. I quickly explained my reasoning to Jake, and began walking towards the newly opened side path.

Master paused for a moment to consider his options. Then he looked at me and nodded, exlpaining that the Pokemon for which he was looking, Rotom and Porygon, were more likely to be off in the dark and secluded, not to mention more dangerous, area of the plant.

I nodded agreeingly. His logic made sense. Pokemon that trainers wanted were mostly powerful Pokemon. However, powerful Pokemon were dangerous in the wild. It was a risk that trainers coming to the park took every day, but it was worth the apparent bliss and satisfaction that they have on their faces after catching a particularly powerful Pokemon.

I pointed at the door and looked at Blades. He responded by flashing forward violently and pacing backwards. There was no apparent effect at first, but the ramshackle door soon collapsed into pieces from the X-Scissor attack. The gaping doorway was illuminated for a split second by another flash of electricity. I saw in that moment that the room was about the size of a normal, suburban kitchen. There were some old electrical devices on their sides on the floor, a filing cabinet or something in a corner, and a desk with an old computer placed oddly right in front of the exit opposite our door. Blades cautiously led us into the room.

Once we were all in the room, another flash burst forward and I could see that they were definitely coming from the overturned Xerox (or maybe fax) machines. I faced the computer. It blinked sporadically. Suddenly, the electricity began to sparkle continuously. The room was completely illuminated. I stared suspiciously at the machines before they shot out a beam of red light from their innards. A Porygon-2 slowly downloaded into reality, scanning the several different and complex codes that notated its existence. It appeared slightly pixelated at first, but soon shook it off and stared straight at Master. It seemed to exist slightly out of this reality as it did not falter in the slightest as it hovered. No sound came from it and it emitted a dull, yellow glow.

“I expect you’ll be wanting this,” I said, glancing at Master.

My jaw nearly hit the ground as the wild Porygon2 came out of the computer, at first a mess of numbers (all binary code), then an actualy shape, filled with grid lines, showing me the actual structure of the pokemon. After another second, the lines were soon overlapped by the colors of the pokemon as it took its form. It hovered there, quietly, as it scanned the room to find out where it was. After a second, it stopped, and just stared at me, as though trying to analyze me, find out who I was, and what I was made of. The creature stood there, glowing, as though daring me to make a move. I stopped to think long and hard about what to do. These things were very rare. If I took it down, I would be in trouble. On the other hand, if I went easy, the thing would destroy me. I thought I needed to hit it hard, but not too hard. Then I remembered something I had read. It had an amazing Special Attack, one of the best, but it was kind of slow. On the other hand, to make up for that, it also had high defenses. So I needed to hit it hard. REAL hard. Simple attacks or simple pokemon wouldn't do the trick. I needed something with a lot of power behind it, something that could deal a real large hit, and could probably add in a status problem, too. I needed something that could do a super effective attack and use some great stats to combo it. I needed Kazam.

I grabbed the Pokeball containing him off of my belt, and pressed the big, shiny, white button on the front of the ball. As soon as I did, it expanded to a much greater size. "Good luck, Kazam," I muttered under my breath. After that fight with the Klang's, I knew He was a little hurt, a little tired, but I knew he was angry at me for pulling him out of the game, and angrier at himself for not doing so well. This Porygon2 would give him a nice fight to redeem himself on, and we both knew it. I just needed him not to take the thing out of the fight too fast.

I tossed the Pokeball up into the air, in a graceful arc. When the ball started on its decent, it opened, and a bright white light came out, and became the powerful, but wise figure I recognized as my Alakazam. He uncrossed his arms, a spoon in each, and struck a powerful looking battle pose. He was ready for a fight of his mind. And I knew the Porygon2 would give him that. This would be a very interesting fight. A battle between an extremely powerful and intelligent mind, and the power of a full blown supercomputer. Pokemon against machine. This battle would be a good one. And to start off any good battle, you need a good attack. And, Kazam had such a good attack. "Alakazam," I yelled to him, "hit him with a full power Focus Blast! Show that computer program who's the better mind!"

At my command, Alakazam nodded his head, crossed his spoons, closed his eyes, and concentrated. Within seconds, an orange glow started to come from a few inches away from his spoons. Slowly, it expanded, into a perfectly round ball, with a brown core. Slowly, the attack grew larger and larger, as Alakazam focused harder and harder on creating it. When it seemed like it was a balloon ready to burst, he fired it off at the Porygon2, leaving with a large bang, indicating Alakazam had most likely broke the sound barrier with the speed he had launched the attack at. Sure enough, after a moment, a small wave washed over us, as the breeze the ball created as it wizzed by hit us. I knew the Porygon2 was in for some trouble.

OOC: You should try to look at all aspects of the battle. For example, the reason that Focus Blast was slower and did less damage, was because of Kazam’s careful nature. Careful Pokemon don’t feel comfortable using moves that are just all out attacks, especially when the other Pokemon is at full health and waiting for them to attack. But this isn’t the only thing you ignored. Be more aware of hints I throw out about how to progress in the battle more effectively in my post. For more information about natures go here and scroll down.

Master looked shocked at the appeareance of the Porygon2. He took a second to think and get his bearings before he pulled out a Pokeball. The Porygon looked immediatelly suspicious, not by the expression on its face (there was none) but by the fact that it traced the movement of the Pokeball from the second it was visible with its long, extended bill.

Master said something under his breath and tossed the ball out in front of him. A flash of light later, Kazam was floating above the ground with ease, and staring at the Pokemon before him. I crossed my arms as the Porygon2 began to slowly float backwards, as if in preparation or protectiveness.

"Alakazam, hit him with a full power Focus Blast! Show that computer program who's the better mind!" Master commanded. Kazam held out his two hands with their spoons. Focusing deeply, he used superhuman forces to will a ball composed of sheer determination into existence. Small flares of orange and red materialized and swirled into the focus in between Kazam’s two hands, causing the Blast to swell rapidly. Soon, it was ready to launch. But Kazam had an idea. It set the Focus Blast off and then psychically led one of his spoons towards it. It collided with the orb midair and the orb shattered into a swarm of smaller focuses. This storm flew chaotically in the other direction of the room towards the Prygon2. Kazam Flew up to the ceiling to observe the outcome from afar.

The smaller balls pelted Porygon2 as well as the walls and equipment around it. Small welts appeared on the floor and wall where they contacted, but the Porygon barely flinched at the few that hit it. In fact, it seemed to have been focusing itself. I watched as an amber wave of scanning lasered up at Kazam from the Pokemon’s blank eyes. Rather than damaging him, it seemed to only be a normal flash of light. It was retracted after only a split secnd but the light seemed to gain some richness and depth. It was reabsorbed by the Porygon2 and something happened. The Porygon2 began to release a sound like a computer that was overworked. It hummed loudly and began to glow. Suddenly, its features elongated starkly. Its tail begame more club-like and its bill looked vicious, somewhat reminiscent of real birds. It was its ability Download; it had gained an automatic attack boost.

After the short interlude from attacking, the Porygon2 began to glow. Its colors brightened and an aura of light formed around its body. From its midsection it let loose a bright, rainbow beam. The Signal Beam curved viciously upward and slammed into Kazam from short distance. An electric humming accompanied the beam and I rubbed my ears. When the beam halted, Kazam looked as if he had sustained a burn on his chest. I flinched in reaction. It looked like this Porygon2 was a force to be reckoned with. Maybe the reason its attacks were s vicious had something to do with the computer placed behind it...

"Alright Kazam," I said, realizing where my mistakes had been made, and finally coming up with a good battle plan. "That thing seems to like being hooked up to that computer behind it. It might prove to be a source of some of its power." I pointed to the desktop computer sitting on the desk, mostly hidden by the Porygon2, as if it didn't want anyone seeing or touching it. Thinking for a moment, I remembered that was what it had come out of. The computer obviously supplied a power source for the Porygon2, which was the reason that it wanted to stay near it and for it to stay intact. Well, I decided that it was time to rain on its parade. "Kazam! I need you to use your Psychic to pick up that computer, and whack it into the back of the Porygon2's head. That should destroy the computer, getting rid of some of the Porygon2's power, and simoltaneously distracting it, leaving a good opening for an attack! Then we can do some real damage."

OOC: You're gonna have to bump up on the post quality, LM.

BP#1 (in my case, at least)

I had told myself, sometime when Crimson's run was about to end, that I would take a break - just like what I had said when I had taken Rex through the Outer Heavens. That plan didn't go too well as I was the only ranger around that early morning when Crimson had wanted to go to the Botanic Gardens. I figured, that once I got back to the Ranger Outpost, the other rangers would be ready and willing enough to take the next run or two.

Unfortunately, this was not the case. Though we did have a new addition to our Ranger family, Bill had taken over another run. Anyways, I had been presented with four options by our secretary. They were as follows, take over a run over at the Abandoned Power Plant, take either one of two trainers through the Botanic Gardens, or take Rex through the Outer Heavens once more. I hadn't the slightest idea why quite a number of trainers wanted to go on a run through the Gardens. Ever since a barrage of new species of Pokemon had been discovered inhabiting the National Park, folks flocked to Mount Deckbi, one after the other, for Litwick, Drilbur, Larvesta, and Sandile. Well, surely, I only had one choice - and that was to go to the Plant. I didn't want to take another run through the Gardens, considering I had just been there; and I didn't feel like going to the Heavens again just yet. Besides, that trainer deserved to have his run finished by now.

I quickly uploaded his file onto my Ranger's Digital Assistant, skimming through it quickly. "Catch ya later, guys! I'm off to the Plant," I called to the other rangers lounging around in the Outpost. And with a quick wave, I was out of the office.

I called out Nia, my Staraptor, to take me to the building. We hadn't been to that area of the National Park before, but I was certain we'd be able to spot it even if we were going to be high up in the air. Or, at least, my Pokemon would with her keen eye - developed since she was a young Starly. "To the Abandoned Power Plant we go!" I hopped onto her back, and gave her neck a gentle scratch as she flapped her wings, and lifted off the ground.

We soared in the horizon. I clutched onto her neck, while continuing to read the information about the teen. His name was Master, and Jake had been his ranger. He had brought a full team of six Pokemon, as well as a Porygon Voice Disk. He was currently engaged in a battle with Porygon2, with no ranger. I definitely needed to get there as soon as possible - a trainer battling a strong, wild entity such as P-2 in an old, abandoned Plant with no ranger around was certainly a very dangerous scenario.

We managed to arrive there in the nick of time. I found the trainer quickly - just in time to hear him shout, "Kazam! I need you to use your Psychic to pick up that computer, and whack it into the back of the Porygon2's head. That should destroy the computer, getting rid of some of the Porygon2's power, and simoltaneously distracting it, leaving a good opening for an attack! Then we can do some real damage."

His Alakazam seemed to look at him with an expression of bewilderment. Recalling what I had just read, the organism had a Careful nature. That pretty much explained his behavior. Still, willing to please his trainer, the Psychic-type turned to the opponent with a heavy sigh. He closed his eyes in concentration for a moment, before opening them again to reveal now-glowing pupils. He didn't feel like doing this - he didn't feel like hurting the Normal-type to such an extent. On second thought, perhaps dealing damage in that way wasn't such a bad idea - Kazam liked inflicting a status condition or lowering the foe's power. Destroying the computer could quite possibly mean destroying the wild creature's power source.

His eyes were flashing in a blue hue, and soon, his whole body was surrounded in a blue-colored aura. He sent a strong blast of telekinetic force towards the computer in a form of light blue shock waves. The Virtual Pokemon saw this coming, and in panic, began to charge up quickly. It moved so it could protect its power source from the Psychic energy. As for the Discharge attack, the multiple light blue beams shot forward, heading straight for Kazam. He was astonished, and carefully slammed the wild creature against the computer behind it. It didn't do so much as to damage the electronic gadget, though the Porygon-2 did seem quite shaken and dizzy. The Alakazam was about to go in for another collision, however, the bolts of electricity struck him, as well as the area surrounding him. He dropped his concentration on controlling the enemy as electricity coursed through his body. He wailed in pain as the electrical energy took a chunk of his health out.

The electricity seeped into his bloodstream, conquering his body movement. He tried to move his limbs, but to little to no avail. He growled angrily - he had wanted to play defense all along; he had wanted to wait the battle out; he had wanted to have been the one to induce a status ailment on the Normal-type, not the one to have the status condition; he had wanted to lower the target's power... Now, he was the one in pain. Now, he was paralyzed. How was he going to win now? How was he going to move, even? Oh, this did not look good.

I knew this was an important battle for Master, so I decided to make my presence known and introduce myself later on - after the battle. It couldn't hurt to wait, right?

"Alright Kazam, You're doing well, but you seem to be taking pretty hard hits. So come on back here," I yelled, holding out its Pokeball. The red light extended from the ball, finally reaching Kazam, and surrounding it. It slowly encased Kazam in red, then drew it in. As the red blob reached the pokeball, the glowing ceased, I minimized the Pokeball, set it on my belt, and reached for a new one. As I picked it up and pressed the button, opening it to a larger size, I said, "Jolteon, I need you. I need something to hit this thing hard, fast, and inflict statuses, and you're the pokemon to do it. I know you can, so come on out and show us how its done!" I tossed the pokeball up into the air, where it opened up and released a blinding white light, which slowly took form on the floor, before dispersing, the pokeball losing and returning to my hand, and a Jolteon, ready and raring to go, electricity sparking off of its hair, which stood on end, standing exactly where the blinding white light was a few minutes ago. Jolteon barked a fearsome bark, implying it was ready for the fight.

"Alright Jolt, we need to kick this battle up a notch. Let's start off with a THUNDER!" I yelled. Jolt began charging up the fearsome attack, glaring at the Porygon2, the sparks coming off its fur becoming more and more frequent and glowing a brighter and brighter yellow as it prepared to launch the most fearsome electric attack it knew at the Porygon2.
