The trainer, after watching his Alakazam take on a hard blow, decided that he needed to take a rest in his Pokeball. After an erratic beam of red light sucked Kazam back into his housing, Master tossed out another orb enthusiastically and confidently.

"Jolteon, I need you. I need something to hit this thing hard, fast, and inflict statuses, and you're the pokemon to do it. I know you can, so come on out and show us how its done!" It opened, and with a flash of white energy, the form of the Electric-typed evolution of Eevee appeared before us. The Lightning Pokemon growled in alertness, ready and eager for battle.

"Alright Jolt," he shouted to his partner, who was named Zappy, "We need to kick this battle up a notch. Let's start off with a THUNDER!" This was a simple command for a humble- and moderate-natured creature - perfect.

He nodded in acknowledgment, rather keen on using his favorite and perhaps strongest level-up attack known to him on the Porygon2. He was to avenge his Psychic-typed friend, but obviously not to the point where he would boast about being stronger, considering the praise and confidence the male teen had already given him. Perhaps now the Virtual Pokemon could get a taste of its own medicine with the assault; perhaps now he would be able to inflict back that paralysis condition.

Zappy began to power up, gathering as much electrical energy he could get for this was one big attack. Bright yellow sparks began to crackle on the tips of his fur. A few moments later, after a load of concentration, he fired off a massive beam of pure electricity at the opponent. The electric currents zapped about in the zig-zagging beam of sorts as he put all of his might into that one mighty move. He stared long and hard at the Normal-type, knowing full well that he had to focus to ensure that the Thunder attack would hit its target. He let out a loud growl as the last bits of the lightning bolt shot forward from his back.

Next thing you knew, the wild being was howling in pain. Electricity surged through its bloodstream, fighting to conquer it. Fortunately (for the Virtual Pokemon, at least), it did not get induced with the status ailment. However, it did lose a reasonable amount of its health.

The entity began to glow a hundred different colors. On the surface of its body, the colorful hues shifted - one color moving to the next patch of outer covering in a split-second, causing a wonderful array of glimmering energy. It shot out a multi-colored beam of, what, light? No, it was a stream of Psychic energy. As it zipped across the battlefield towards its target, the Psybeam attack continued to glint in the darkness of the building. The beam smacked into the Jolteon with much force, dealing a good amount of damage.

Believing that the assault was not enough to counter the earlier Thunder, the Virtual Pokemon powered up once more. It released beams again, however, this time, there were three - each glowing a different hue. I recognized this attack as the move that could cause ether one of three major status ailments - burn, freeze, and paralysis. Each condition had about a twenty percent chance of happening - which was quite large, don't you think?

How would Master react to this? How would Zappy react to this? Or, perhaps more importantly, would this change the course of the battle if the assault did manage to induce a status? The teen would have shout out a command quickly so his partner may try to evade or do something about the incoming attack.
