    @ki adi mundi; Please specify your Pokemons' natures and the ability that you wish to use for your Excadrill. Please think carefully about what you want the natures to be, though, as they are permanent! For more information about natures, see this post. If you have any questions, feel free to shoot me a VM or PM and I'll do the best that I can to get you taken care of. Also, I apologize for how long it took me to get this up. It shouldn't be such a bad wait in the future. DX
    ~~~~~
    Needless to say, I was excited.
    It was my first Park Run since becoming a Ranger. I mean, sure, I had blitzed carelessly through the Park before, but never as a Ranger - and those silly trial runs and tests didn't count for bean in my mind. Today it was for real, and it was going to be the best thing ever.
    Debrota, my Togekiss, seemed to sense my excitement. Her wings were carrying us just as quickly as they could. It wasn't long at all before we came within sight of the little cabin that was the Ranger Outpost.
    Honestly, from the outside, the Outpost wasn't very exciting. It was just a small wooden cabin - nothing special or extravagant. But it was a homey sort of place, one where you could be comfortable just sitting about and reading or listening to music or something. Not that that was my cup of tea, but hey, to each his own.
    Debrota came to a gentle halt within a few feet of the cabin. I hopped off, tossed her a pink Poffin in thanks for the ride before returning her to her Pokeball. I then walked into the cabin; the door opened with a faint creak of irritation at being disturbed. As usual, the place was empty - no one hung around here for long, despite the comfortable atmosphere. I began to look over my items and my dossier. Everything was in order for Kazuma Kannagi to have an awesome run at Mt. Oktori. Now, he just needed to arrive...
    OCC:Sorry about the natures, knew I forgot something before starting this. As for the wait it’s cool, it gave me time to figure out what I what from here. Now let’s have some fun! {Excadrill:Brave}{Torterra:Serious}
    -----
    Mt. Oktori, that was my destination today. I had with my Excadrill, Torterra, both were great Pokemon. The sun was shining and there was a slight warm breeze in the air. It felt good I could tell this run, I was going to find some awesome Pokemon.
    I had both my Pokemon out of there contaminant units, I was on Torterra back getting a ride, and Excadrill was under ground. It wasn’t long before Mt. Oktori came into my site, I little bit longer and I would be on the Ranger path. After that I would be at the Ranger Outpost, from their a Ranger would take me up to Mt. Oktori were my fun would began.
    We continued up the path and the wood cabin came into my line of site, it was the Ranger outpost. Once I meet my Ranger I could finally start this run.
    @ki adi mundi; Thanks for the understanding! But do you mind specifying which ability Excadrill will be using on this run?
    ~~~~~
    After waiting around for a little while, listening to a bit of punk rock through my ever-handy headphones, I began to hear loud footsteps outside. It sounded like something large, walking - like a large Pokemon walking. I stood quickly - surely that was my Trainer? After one final check to make sure that all of my supplies were in order, I headed out the door and into the sunshine and fresh air, a large, probably gooberish grin on my face.

    "Hello!" I called loudly. A Torterra was striding grandly up the path, and faint tremors beneath my sneakers announced the presence of an unseen, burrowing Ground-type. On the Torterra's back was a Trainer, a young man with dark hair. He wore a dark blue jacket. Hopefully that would be warm enough for him on the cold mountain peak - because my cold-blooded self would surely freeze up there without my coat. The Trainer seemed fairly excited for the beginning of his run, although it was hard to tell from this distance. "Hello!" I shouted again, waving and bustling up the path. "You're Kazuma, right? I'm Adelaide - I'll be your Ranger today. Do you have any questions before we set off?"

    As we continued up the path, I saw someone come up the Ranger outpost. I took out my pack to make sure I have ever I needed for this run. I then heard a voice, someone was calling to me. I looked up and it was my Ranger waving to me.

    "You're Kazuma, right? I'm Adelaide - I'll be your Ranger today. Do you have any questions before we set off?"

    I hopped off Torterra’s back to greet my new Ranger. “Hello, am, Kazuma, and no I have no questions for you. I’m ready to go when you are”

    I turned around and called Torterra back into it’s Pokeball, then called out Excadrill, “Excadrill, show yourself”

    My black and white Mole Pokemon popped it’s head out of the ground, “Alright, Excadrill, you can stay under my feet until I need you in battle got it?”

    “Excadrill!”

    I was all set now I just had to wait for my Ranger to get us started.

    "Hello," my Trainer introduced himself, "I am Kazuma, and I have no questions for you. I’m ready to go when you are."

    I grinned and clapped my hands. "Great!" Kazuma hopped off his Torterra's back, then called the great turtle back into its Pokeball. He then called out, "Excadrill, show yourself!"

    The great brown-and-red mole appeared obediently, its great steel claws glinting in the bright sunlight. "Alright, Excadrill," said Kazuma, "you can stay under my feet until I need you in battle, got it?" Excadrill's white head nodded.

    "Excadrill!" it replied, before using its mighty claws to burrow back beneath the earth. The thought of having to put up with the rumbling beneath my feet constantly was a little annoying - but I would get over it. I nodded to Kazuma, who seemed to be ready.

    I allowed Justice, my Luxray, to come out of his Pokeball; it was always good to have sharp senses like his helping me out. Together we struck out onto the trail, making for the volcano Deckbi at an easy pace.

    We arrived quickly, ascending the winding volcano trail with quick, decisive steps. "Be careful on this mountain," I warned Kazuma. He had probably been informed of the dangers at the registration office, but it never hurts to remind Trainers to be cautious. "It's unpredictable. There are a lot of shifting rocks and debris, so watch where you're stepping. Don't assume that the ledge you're about to put your foot on is solid."

    Having delivered the warning, I proceeded, allowing Justice to walk in front of me. His steps were careful and light, and his instincts were keen - if anyone could predict collapses, it would likely be him. Not too long after we started up the path, Justice's head suddenly swung toward a scraggly shrub to the right. A pinkish shape was half-hidden behind it, but as I moved ahead I made out the lean form of a Tyrogue, who was practicing its punching techniques on a craggy, pitted boulder. It seemed to be unaware of our presence, although that could change in a second if we made enough noise.

    "There's a Tyrogue over there," I called quietly to Kazuma. "Care to have a go for it?" I didn't particularly care for any of the Fighting-type's evolutions, but good things are often said of Hitmonlee and its high Attack stat. However, ultimately this judgement would be left to Kazuma. I watched him, curious to see how he would act.

    My ranger was energetic, and ready to move on. She called out her Black and yellow cat pokemon, Luxray to lead in front of us. We proceeded up the path it wasn’t long before a little pink pokemon came into our site, it was Tyrogue a fight Pokemon that could evolved into three different Pokemon. Tyrogue was practicing its punching on a rock, and didn’t see us my Ranger look over to me and ask me if I wanted the Pokemon.

    As much as I wanted to get it because I love Hitmonlee, I just could not, I came here for a few Pokemon and I was not going to default on my plans.

    “Meh, lets leave this Pokemon to it workout, if it spots us and does not let us leave, I’ll just have Torterra take care of it.”

    Kazuma did seem a tad bit tempted by the thought of capturing a spiffy, brand-new Tyrogue; however, he didn't seem to very much want to catch it. “Meh," he said, "let's leave this Pokemon to its workout, if it spots us and does not let us leave, I’ll just have Torterra take care of it.”

    I nodded, then proceeded to walk quietly up the path. Hopefully we could just walk past Tyrogue and get on with the rest of the run. We just needed to be quiet...

    Snap.

    I let out a huff of impatience at the sound of a twig crackling beneath my boot. Tyrogue's head whipped around, searching for the intruder; it found me and Kazuma. With an angry shout it hustled forward, leaping up to block our path. Justice glowered at the little fighter, but it was much too ornery to back down. I sighed resignedly and turned toward Kazuma.

    "Well," I said, "you have two options here. One, you could have Torterra take it on, like you said - or two, you could buy a Pokedoll right now and get away from it. It's your choice," I added. I hung back, waiting for Kazuma's answer.

    OOC: Buying Pokedoll | 1,000 - 500 = 500. @VeloJello
    Sorry I didn’t get to this sooner I ws swamped this week with other things.
    ----

    I hate Pokemon that just can’t mind there own business, and some how I knew this one would do just that. Now I didn’t mind KOing; this Pokemon, yes that’s mean but hey what can you do about it. So I have a choice, Use Torterra and spend more time on it or throw a Pokedoll. This is a hard and easy choice to make, hard because I have to spend money on it, and easy because there is no way I was going to take time out of my day to battle this Pokemon.

    “Alright, I’m going to buy a Pokedoll and throw it at Tyrogue, here is my money. Please let throw it and move on.”

    I didn’t any time taking out my money, all I had to do now was what for my Ranger to take the money then use the Pokedoll.

    Kazuma, after brief reflection, decided to fork over the money and buy a Pokedoll. I nodded, putting the cash away and tugging one of the little decoys out of my pack of supplies. I held it up, waving it in the air to get Tyrogue's attention. It homed in on the doll immediately, and I tossed the little plush as far as I could. The Fighting-type gave chase, and I motioned Kazuma up the path. Hopefully the Tyrogue would get good use out of the Pokedoll as a training dummy or something.

    I continued to lead Kazuma up the path, which widened considerably up ahead. It wasn't long at all before I made out the shape of a great, muscular Pokemon. I recognized another Fighting-type: the mighty Machoke. I let out a low whistle; some guys got all the luck. With a little bit of training and effort, Machoke could be made into a fighting powerhouse. I turned toward Kazuma. "Maybe you'd like to try your hand at catching this Machoke," I said, gesturing toward it with a hand. The wild Pokemon continued to watch us, waiting to see what our intentions were.

    My ranger took out the pokedoll, and threw it at Tyrouge. The litttle fighting pokemon attention was turned from us, and so my ranger began walking again and I followed on. We continued on up the path and it was not long before we found another pokemon. The big muscular pokemon look over at us I new what it was Machoke I like this Pokemon, but I was not going to get it.

    I look over at my ranger and told her I wanted to skip this pokemon. “I don’t want this Machoke let’s run away if it tries to stop us I’ll buy another pokedoll from you.”

    I waited to see what this pokemon would do next.

    "I don’t want this Machoke," Kazuma decided. "Let’s run away. If it tries to stop us I’ll buy another Pokedoll from you."

    I nodded, leading Kazuma further up the path. Justice gave the Machoke a confident glare as we passed, warning it to mind its own business. Fortunately, the wild Pokemon had little interest in us and went back to what it was doing relatively quickly. We managed to get away unscathed.

    A chilly wind began to blow on us, carrying a bit of cold off of the mountaintop. I pulled my coat closer to my body and looked around for more Pokemon. I spotted something in the distance - the hazy silhouette of what appeared to be a floating ice-cream cone. It must have been causing this drop in temperature, I realized. I met its bright blue eyes for a second before turning to Kazuma.

    "Do you want to try and catch this Vanillite?" frankly, I doubted he would. Vanilluxe, Vanillite's final evolution, was pretty unhelpful on most teams. However, some Trainers do have tastes that differ from mine. Fight or flee - that was Kazuma's decision, not mine.

    Machoke did seem to care about us it let us walk away from it with no trouble, and so we just walk on up the past more. The wind started to blow just a bit, a chill filled the air the Mountainside should not have been this cold at this time something was up. As we continued up the path a I thought I was hallucinating because I saw what look like a Ice cream cone from a far.

    My ranger turned to me and ask if I wanted to catch the pokemon? I took out my pokedex to see what I could learn about this Vanillite pokemon.

    “Pokedex,” Vanillite, the temperature of their breath is -58° F. They create snow crystals and make snow fall in the areas around them.

    Truth be told I didn’t like Ice Pokemon that much there were I few I loved which is why I came here, but over all I just didn’t have the feel for them. But I didn’t what to take a chance and not find any good pokemon, so I could get this one as a back up pokemon just in case I don’t find what I’m looking for.

    So that was it i look at my Ranger and told her it was on. “I’ll battle this pokemon,” Excadrill show yourself! The ground began to rumble a bit, then Excadrill came shooting up out the ground. Excadrill you ready for battle?

    “Excadrill!!!!” I took that as a yes. Vanillite had now spotted us I was ready for battle Excadrill was ready so I gave the first order.

    “Excadril, use Sandstorm!”

    Excadrill lifted up both arms and his eyes turned a bright green color, the wind picked up as small grains of sand started to hit the back of my neck. Excadrill used his earth powers to summoned sand from the base of the mountain, before I knew it a sandstorm was raging.

    OOC: What gender is Vanillite?

    ~~~~~
    Much to my surprise, Kazuma decided to battle the Vanillite. I stood back as Kazuma called Excadrill, who popped up out of the ground in a shower of stony soil. "Are you ready for battle?" Kazuma asked.
    "Excadrill!" Excadrill exclaimed boldly, lifting his mighty claws. Vanillite turned to face us, looking curiously at the newcomers to its lofty alpine home.
    "Excadrill, use Sandstorm!" called Kazuma. Excadrill lifted his arms skyward and his eyes glowed green with power. The breeze stirred to a swirling wind, which picked up bits of sand and tiny pebbles, creating a swirling whirlwind of sand. I winced at the feeling of the sand stinging my exposed skin. Vanillite obviously felt the same way, based on its pained expression; however, Excadrill seemed to love the sandstorm. I wasn't surprised - it had the ability Sand Force, which would strengthen some of its moves.
    Vanillite seemed to know this. It winced, looking worried and anxious. For a second I thought that it would flee. Then it began to hover, floating higher above the ground, its small mouth opening. A glowing light shone from within its body; then a crackling beam of bright cyan energy flew from its mouth. Excadrill let out a loud roar as the beam lanced past its huge flank. The Ice Beam hadn't done a lot of damage, but it looked like Excadrill had a case of frostnip. I didn't think it would be a big deal, but I could tell that its movements would most definitely be hampered.
    Meanwhile, Vanillite was having struggles of its own. It winced at the feeling of the sand biting into its body, which could easily become a massive problem over the course of the battle. It closed its eyes and seemed to focus, and in seconds its body began to glow white. The glow faded moments later, but Vanillite's body seemed to be a little shinier, a little less vulnerable, than before. I recognized the effects of the move Harden, which would give Vanillite marginal protection against physical attacks. I glanced at Kazuma, waiting to see his response to this.
    Sandstorm kicked in with bits of sand being tossed around, it would somewhat slow Vanillite. The little Ice Pokemon didn’t waste any time firing back at Excadrill. Vanillite opened up its mouth and I could feel the temperature in the air drop. A cyan color of energy formed in the back of Vanillite’s mouth. A quick exhale from the Ice Pokemon, and a beam of light shot from its mouth and the icy attack hit Excadrill. He let out a small cry, but overall was fine. After using it’s Ice Beam attack, Vanillite was still having a bit of a problem with the sandstorm. Vanillite shut its eyes as its body began to glow silver. It was using Harden a move that gave a boost to it’s defense. However, it was our turn to strike back. And the way I saw it was I had two choices. One, I could use a Dig attack, which would mean Vanillite could not attack me again, and with sandstorm it would do a nice bit of damage, but then again I could use a Rock Slide attack, only problem with that is, Vanillite could cause avalanche which would be bad. What to do, what to do? Well, Rock slide was out and on with a Dig attack.
    “Alright, Excadrill, I want you to use your Dig attack,” As I gave the commanded to Excadrill, he jumped into the air, and started to spin he landed and burrowed into the earth. Now to see what Vanillite would do. It could not attack with no target, I wondered what it would do next.
    After pondering for a few moments, Kazuma gave Excadrill an order. "Alright, Excadrill, I want you to use your Dig attack," he commanded, and Excadrill happily obliged. He leaped up, spinning in midair, before coming back down to earth and doing what an Excadrill does best: digging. The ground swallowed him up, leaving a very flustered Vanillite alone on the surface.
    Before the little ice cream cone could take any precautions, Excadrill came bursting forth from the earth, his claws clamped together as he corkscrewed through the traditional drill-like Dig attack of his species. He rammed into Vanillite at full speed, knocking her flying through the air. As Excadrill uncurled, however, Vanillite stabilized her flight. She began to glow bright silver, and a sphere of bright white energy launched from her body and straight into Excadrill's face. The dual-type bellowed with pain and swiped at his eyes with his great claws. I winced in sympathy - a Mirror Shot straight to the eyes couldn't feel particularly nice. This wasn't good for Excadrill - his eyes would probably stay dazzled and blurry for a while, making it harder for him to land any hits.
    While Excadrill was distracted, Vanillite began to glow again, this time with an aura of white tinted blue. Clouds began to appear in the sky directly overhead, and the winds kicked up, pushing a good portion of the Sandstorm away. Vanillite let out a huge, freezing breath, and small chunks of ice began to fly through the air. I shivered, huddling into my jacket as the temperature dropped significantly. Excadrill looked similarly uncomfortable at this weather, which was so different from the sandstorm he'd created just moments ago. Vanillite seemed happy about this change in weather; however, it was beginning to lag. All Kazuma needed to do now was to just simply land a few hard hits and go in for the capture. Otherwise, we were all going to have to stand out here and freeze our pretty little tushies off - not exactly any sane person's idea of fun.
    Excadrill shot up from the earth, at lightning speed spinning like a twister. The little Ice cream Pokemon, some how stabilized itself in mid air, then fired back a Mirror Shot. The attack was not all great but it did make Excadrill a bit off edge, however it was not enough to stop us. Vanillite was not done with us yet, it was just getting started. I felt a drop in the temperature has clouds appeared in the sky and blew away most of the Sandstorm, a Icy breeze filled the air and chills began to run down my spine, Excadrill didn’t like this weather.
    Truth was I didn’t mine the cold, however I needed to end this battle at once. The one thing about the National Park I loved, was that I could use the environment to my advantage. I looked around to see if I could find anything I could use to help do some major damage to Vanillite, and I did. Right up above us was boulder aimed right were Vanillite was. Now the chance of it hitting the Ice Pokemon was low, but if I shatter the rock and make a small Rock Slide, that was another story. I had only ever done somethign like this once before and it work, so I was going to give it a shot.
    “Excadrill, you see that big rock up there?”
    “Excadrill!”
    “Good, I want you to destroy it, try and make smaller rocks to hit Vanillite, understand?”
    “Excadrill!”
    Excadrill wasted no time in his move. He slammed both claws into the ground with great force, and then pulled out a chunck of the earth. He then lobbed it at the rock. On impact both rocks shattered into dozens smaller rocks the size of my head. The rocks fell and with them snow, the way it looked both pokemon were going to get hit, so I gave my next command.
    “Excadrill, Dig under ground! Now, but do not attack Vanillite!”
    Excadrill punched into the earth and burrowed into it to escape the Rock Slide, I knew both Excadrill and Vanillite were be fine, but better safe then sorry. I had seen Pokemon like Vanillite take an attack like this all the time here and walk away. Hopefully it would do the same here.
    I pulled out my Parkball ready to throw it, if the attack hit Vanillite it would be the perfect moment to catch it.
    "Excadrill, you see that big rock up there?" Kazuma called after a moment's thought. I followed his line of sight to a rather precariously perched boulder that rested above us. Once Excadrill gave affirmation, Kazuma called out, "Good, I want you to destroy it, try and make smaller rocks to hit Vanillite, understand?"
    Excadrill cried out the name of his species enthusiastically. Under Vanillite's suspicious eye, he punched into the stone below us and tugged out a chunk of stone. I found myself watching with equal suspicion. Kazuma was about to cause a rockslide, and that could get ugly fast. It wasn't particularly likely that something terrible would happen, but the chance was always there.
    With a heave of his arm, Excadrill hurled the stone he held at the boulder. It must have been a mighty toss, because the boulder cracked and then shattered on impact. Several smaller pieces of stone were created; most of them had been sent flying backward by the force of Excadrill's throw, but some of them hadn't; and those that hadn't began to roll down the hill, gathering snow, ice, and most importantly, speed. The rockslide was about to hit both of them, and hard.
    However, Kazuma had planned for this as well. He ordered Excadrill to use Dig, which would get him underground and keep him from being crushed under his own attack. Excadrill leaped up, clamping his claws over his head and boring into the earth as a living drill. Vanillite stared at the rock-fall, petrified by terror. As the rocks slammed into her, knocking her down – and taking several wisps of her creamy foam top – she let out a loud wail of pain. I winced sympathetically. Despite my pity for Vanillite, though, I was impressed by Kazuma’s creativity and the way he used the environment to Excadrill’s advantage.
    Fortunately, Vanillite was left conscious, if dazed. Slowly she managed to rise up off of the ground slowly, seeming disoriented and sluggish. This would be the perfect opportunity for a capture, I realized. Kazuma seemed to think so as well; he stood ready with a Park Ball in his hand. I stepped back, making sure that he had plenty of room.
    The rocks came rushing down at us, Excadrill did as I told him, and burrowed underground. This allow him to escape the impact of the Rock Slide, how ever Vanillite was not so lucky. The Pour Pokemon could do nothing but stand there and be terrified, as the rock hit Vanillite they knocked her down. Vanillite was slow to get back up but did so. After taking that hit Vanillite was a little disoriented, this was the moment I was waiting for. I tossed my Park ball into the at Vanillite. Only thing I could do now was wait.
    Once the dust had cleared, Kazuma threw his Park Ball. Vanillite let out a yelp of surprise as the capsule smacked squarely against her head and popped open, sucking her inside with a flash of bright red light. The sphere fell to the ground, rocking and wobbling on the craggy ground. I watched and waited - Vanillite had seemed pretty well beaten-up, but Pokemon have a habit of asserting their strength even in rough situations.
    However, this time Vanillite was defeated. The Park Ball emitted a quiet pinging sound, letting anyone in earshot know that a Pokemon had been captured. I found myself smiling as I walked over to scoop up the newly-filled ball. I remembered my first capture - I wasn't sure if this was Kazuma's first or not, of course, but the excitement was always there. I grabbed the Park Ball quickly, shoving it into my coat pocket before withdrawing my hands into my coat sleeves. The hailstorm was easing off, but the wind was still cold and bitter. My fingers felt absolutely frozen.
    "Well!" I called, turning back to Kazuma. "That was an excellent catch! Now, would you like to keep moving - or would you prefer to take a brief rest first?"
    My ball sailed into the air and hit Vanillite on it’s head, It then opened up and sucked in Vanillite. The little ice pokemon was weak to break free fir the ball, I heared a ping sound and the the ball stopped wiggling. Vanillite was mine at last, my Ranger walked over and picked it up off the ground. The hail storm calmed in self and my Ranger turned to me and said.
    "That was an excellent catch! Now, would you like to keep moving - or would you prefer to take a brief rest first?"
    “ No rest needed let move thre are pokemon up ahead waited for us to find them.”
