    “Zoroark, Foul Play!” Jay commanded.

Prose wondered if Jay realized that Poochyena used Taunt, preventing Zoroark from using any of her stat moves. Zoroark growled back at Poochyena, surrounding herself with a crimson aura. She swiped her arms at Poochyena, a trail of dark energy following them, and struck the little cub in the head.

Poochyena reeled back, losing her grip but gaining some composure. Zoroark jumped away, flipping back towards a nearby tree. She used it to propel herself towards her opponent, and Zoroark fired the energy of Night Daze towards Poochyena. The attack unleashed a large orb of black and red sparking energy, which summoned many similar colored waves that zigzagged all across the field before honing in on its target.

Poochyena cringed, not letting the pain show and standing its ground. Being a Dark-type, she could withstand some of the Night Daze’s power. Eventually Zoroark’s attack was over, but she kneeled down on one leg, the same leg that Poochyena had bitten. She must have gotten badly wounded from the attack.

Seeing her opportunity, Poochyena charged straight in, lowering her head. She moved fast, and the taunted Zoroark couldn’t dodge. Poochyena stuck her right in the gut, causing her to fly back towards the trees. Zoroark dug her claws into the ground to stop herself from smashing into the trees and preventing more damage, and she didn’t look too happy to take a Take Down full force.

Poochyena wasn’t doing too well either. Take Down had some recoil, and that plus the Night Daze seemed to be taking its toll on the small pup.

    @sorocoroto: Sorry about this extremely late update. Between URPG trouble and moving and having almost no internet access, it's been hard ^~^;
    --------------------------------
That was when Jay had finally noticed it. There was obviously a move blocking Zoroark from utilizing her indirect moves...

"Probably a taunt. Dammit," he cursed silently to himself, to himself. He would have to be careful around this particular type of Pokemon. Choosing his moves carefully was key.

"Zoroark, Night Slash! Make it quick, I have a plan!" The fox Pokemon narrowed her eyes, obviously angered; and though reluctant, she knew what was best for now. Her claw began to glow with dark power, her assessing Poochyena. Soon, in a dash of great speed, she disappeared to perform the Night Slash.

Jay knew Night Slash was a blindsiding technique, waiting until the opponent's guard was down completely.

And as he waited to assess his result, he glanced into the sky.

"And it looks like Unfezant is ready, too..." he noted, watching the bird Pokemon glow in anticipation. His Ranger, Prose, wouldn't like him to battle unfairly. For that would go against Park rules.

However, Jay had Zoroark's Pokeball out, ready to recall her at a moment's notice. And this time, he was sure of his strategy.

Zoroark and Poochyena had been putting on a fierce battle for each other. Considering both sides were Dark-type Pokemon they were still doing some good damage. Zoroark however was clearly at a distinct advantage, but that didn't mean that Poochyena could be counted out just yet. Still one had to wonder just what each side would do next. Jay's Zoroark didn't exactly have many moves under its belt. I guess only time could tell what would happen.

"Zoroark, Night Slash! Make it quick, I have a plan!" Jay commanded. Without having extra moves added Night Slash was one of Zoroark's most powerful attacks. The user would race over at the opponent, and slash at them with their claws. This was a very vicious type attack, one that was more likely to do some serious damage over other attacks. I was curious about what this plan of Jay's was though. Was it something in mind to try and make Poochyena easier to capture, or was he aiming to knock it out? I was curious to know more, but I suppose that time would reveal all of it.

Zoroark charged at Poochyena. Night Slash was a close range move, so Zoroark had no way around this except to move in close. It started slashing its claws around, but I had to give Poochyena credit, it was doing a good job of dodging. Zoroark went in for one last attempt to hit Poochyena, but this time it wasn't running away, rather it jumped right at Zoroark. Zoroark's claw struck Poochyena on its underside, but not without Poochyena taking a bite out of Zoroark in retaliation. The move Poochyena had used was Bite. A move where the user bites down on a part of the opponents body. The shock from this attack can be so bad that it can actually prevent the Pokemon who was hit from making a move. Fortunately for Jay though, Zoroark hit with Shadow Claw as it was bitten.

Poochyena was down and hurt. Zoroark on the other hand wasn't feeling too much pain, however it did have its left arm in front of its mouth, blowing on it, no doubt trying to soothe the pain it felt from getting bitten. Whatever Jay was planning, well, now would no doubt be the best chance he had to execute whatever plan it was. If he waited too long Poochyena would collect its wits, and would come back asking for more.

@Ebail: Sorry dude, bmg said you didn't post >_>

Jay looked up, watching as the form in the sky hovered above them. "Alright. Unfezant, Air Slash!"

The form stopped, Unfezant turning its attention on Poochyena. Letting out a cry, it flapped its wings hard, unleashing the x-shaped blades of wind upon Poochyena.

Jay looked to Zoroark, taking out a Pokeball. "Return," he stated. The red ray shot from the ball, recalling the Illusory Fox quickly.

Looking to Poochyena, he waited to see the fruits of his surprise attack. Unfezant began to lower its altitude, descending to hover next to Jay.

They were both ready to see what would happen.

Jay put his plan into action here. "Alright. Unfezant, Air Slash!" he yelled I could see now. His plan was to distract the Poochyena with Zoroark. During this confusion he returned Zoroark to its Pokeball where it could get some rest, because I was sure he would need its help later on. Unfezant flew over at Poochyena, and struck it with a quick strike by its wings. This attack certainly took its toll on Poochyena, not so much damage-wise, but in another sense. Air Slash caused Poochyena to flinch. The poor creature was never able to get an attack off because of this, and was now just a sitting duck.

Air Slash was a Special Attack, Flying-type move. It was a weird choice to see be used by an Unfeazant due to them being Physical attackers, but in this case, well Air Slash was the smarter choice. A Physical attack would have no doubt knocked out Poochyena, and I didn't know if that was what Jay was after or not, but I had to assume it wasn't. Plus Air Slash had a pretty good chance of causing a flinch to happen like it did.

"Hey, good thinking there Jay. I don't know what you're after, but one more attack and Poochyena won't be able to battle any more," I said to Jay, just to give him a heads up. Due to coming in as his ranger midbattle, it was certainly going to be interesting to see what he would do.
