"You know what, Steve?"

"Yes?"

"Shut the hell up. When I'm getting back from this run, I'm killing you personally." I said, pushing away the creepy guy out of my sights. 'Elite' trainer or not, you can't just barge into the ranger outpost and expect me to go on a date with someone who I haven't seen before in my entire life. Vaporeon hissed before shooting a jet of water at Steve, sending him back. I smiled and petted by Vaporeon, returning her to her ball.

Now, this run was in Mt. Oktori. I walked over to the computer and switched Vaporeon with my new Ponyta. A happy neigh sounded as the Pokemon appeared by my side. I giggled and walked out of the ranger outpost.

The outside was cold. Cold. I wore a thick waterproof jacket which made me look fatter than a Walrein and it wasn't enough. Ponyta was dealing fine, though. Her own self-provided heat conquered most chills. I awaited for my trainer, hoping that pervert inside doesn't come after me. His eyes freak me out.

It was a warm hot day, the sun was slowly creeping over the mountain tops. Joe swished his hair forwards and backwards in the sun. The large monkey like Pokemon walked beside him. "Ready to go on an adventure?" Joe asked Ambus. Ambus smiled before looking ahead at a large cabin.

Joe quicker sped up and within seconds he reached the cabin and noticed a small young women standing outside. Joe walked up to the women and asked "Excuse me, are you a my ranger?" However when Joe looked across he automatically knew it was his ranger. He remember giving a Ponyta to a ranger in exchange for a Ralts. Joe looked up and said, "Good morning Timpeni, how have you been?"

 

"Oh, Joe! I've been fine for the most part." I said, darting my eyes to the door of the ranger outpost. Steve better not come this way. Ponyta, however, was more intent on impressing her old trainer and friend. With a swift kick of her hind legs, she did and back flip in the air, embers pouring from her mouth. The trailing flames made circle before disappearing, and Ponyta landed again, looking pleased.

"Er... your Ponyta tends to do that nowadays. I've named her Flaming Rose, or Flose for short," I said. Most of the Pokemon I get are quite a handful to deal with. Maybe they learned from me. Er, hopefully not. "Do you suppose we should continue up the mountain track now? A strong wind is coming later, about two hours or so. I guess we'd better finish this run before the wind blows us of the mountain. It's done that to someone before." I said. But this time, I was prepared. Apart from Flose, I brought another Pokemon, hidden in my pocket.

Joe was surprised at how Timpeni looked after a lot of Pokemon, she battled with care and always through of the pokemon safety, a perfect ranger. Joe slowly opened his bag and grabbed a small Pokeplayer from his bag. He opened the lid and placed a small gray CD. Joe shut the lid and listen to the small cry of Riolu. He had always wanted one and was here today to catch one.

Joe gave a signal to Timpeni and slowly walked up the mountain path.

 

I heard the disk's call echo throughout the majestic peaks. As it traveled, the sound was distorted and faint. There were Riolu, yes, but the call was either not heard clearly, despite their vibrant senses, or the Riolu was too far away. However, another Pokemon appeared as our winter boots cracked the thin ice on the mountain path. I wasn't fond of the area around here. The grounds were thick in dirty slush, causing many to slip. Up the mountain, the ice would have been more firmly frozen. As I slowly treaded on the path, a Pokemon walked in front of us. it was quite tame, having lived near humans for quite a long time. It has participated in a variety of battles everyday, pouncing at unsuspecting humans when feeling exceptionally frisky, but has not been in an attempt of capture.

"Ty!" The Tyrouge yelled. Though small, the fit body it lived in ensured it did not freeze to death in the harsh terrain. Flose growled slightly, and I petted her, not wanting her to attack a Pokemon all of the sudden. But Flose was proud. She knew Bounce was quite effective on Tyrouge, and wanted to use it.

"Now, Flose, don't be like that. You have to use your energy in emergencies only. Other than that, you have to warm your body to protect yourself from the Hail higher up the mountain. Oh, and would you like to battle this Tyrouge?"

"Oh, and would you like to battle this Tyrouge?" Timpeni asked Joe,

"Sure, I would love to have a Tyrouge on our team" Joe said as he slowly slid his hand towards his belt. He grabbed a small red and white ball and threw it into the air. A large white flash appeared from the Pokeball and a large white bird appear. She slowly yawned and gave a long sigh. Joe didn't really like to wake Togekiss up, but he knew that flying types had a huge type advantage over Fighting Types. The huge bird quickly zoomed into the battle stared at the small human shaped pokemon.

"Alright Togekiss, let's show your beauty and power, Use Charm to cloak yourself in a white glow and then use Air Slash. However don't go to crazy on the Air Slash, we do want him to join a team" Joe said at Togekiss. She quickly zoomed into the air and prepared to cover herself in a white shine.

 

Togekiss glowed a dim white, before posing elegantly, smoothly slashing in the sky, like a sophisticated dance. Tyrouge looked at the wonder and started to think if he should be too hard on his attacks or not. With a swift swoop, Togekiss was down on Tyrouge and slashing at him, not the sky. This definitely cut the train of thought in Tyrouge's head and limited the effectiveness of Charm a bit. Tyrouge did a back flip, landing on Togekiss, before collapsing.

The wounds from the Air Slash were severe. It was a lucky thing Togekiss was more concentrated on looking beautiful then the battle, causing her aim to be slightly off(though her dance moves were executed at much strength). If not, the battle would be over. Tyrouge forced himself up and used his fist to deal a blow on Togekiss, though it was a reluctant blow. But dealing a blow on the skull was far more painful then most other places, as Togekiss could now say.

Togekiss soared through the sky, shining brightly as she did a loop the loop. Joe quickly turned to Tyrogue and noticed a bit if hesitance. This must be charm affect on him. Togekiss turned towards Tyrogue and lifted her huge arms and slashed them through the air. The small shock wave caused the air to pushed towards Tyrouge. Joe quickly raised his hand above his face to avoid being blasted away by this powerful attack. The Tyrogue was smacked hard across his small body and then plummeted into the ground.

It looked like Tyrogue took a lot of damage from that attack and slowly stood back up. Tyrogue raised his fist towards Togekiss and smacked the huge white bird across the face. Joe watched as Togkiss took off into the air and turned around to face Tyrogue. The attack hadn't dealt of lot of damage and she began to swirl in the air.

"Togekiss, Use Yawn and Sweet Kiss" Joe shouted to the White Pokemon, who was showboating.

 

Togekiss nodded, and tried her hardest to move up her head. Making sure her flying was correct in wind position and both attractiveness, she released her attack upon the groggy Tyrouge.

Bubble flew from Togekiss's mouth before popping on Tyrouge, who was on top of her (until he was then plopped roughly on the ground). Tyrouge yawn, slightly sleepy, and not noticing the array of hearts flying at it. Togekiss used its best effort to look nice more then trying to confuse Tyrouge, and so, the kisses didn't give Tyrouge too much of a headache. Despite his vision shifting and moving, Tyrouge locked onto Togekiss, still showing off. Preparing his arm, he charge forward, swerving left and right, before hitting Togekiss.

Togekiss was sent back a bit before opening her eyes again. Angered by the Tyrouge, Togekiss shot an Aura Sphere at Tyrouge, only to miss. Tyrouge didn't really like the arrogant Togekiss. It wouldn't want to go on a team battle with that flying Pokemon...

Joe watched as Togekiss zoomed into focus and speed towards Tyrouge. As she was flying towards him, she opened her mouth and produced a few small pink clouds from her mouth. The small clouds slowly drifted towards Tyrouge, soon the small clouds dissolved into his body and Tyrouge gave a small yawn. Togekiss pulled up and hovered int the air. Joe watched as she winked towards Tyrouge before blowing a small kiss. The small kiss split into little tiny heart shaped. Tyrouge watched as the small heart shaped surrounded his body. Then the hearts disappeared and Tyrouge facial expression changed dramatically. He stumbled around trying to find his footing before leaping into the air.

Tyrouge raised his fist again smacked Togekiss across the face. He landed on his legs and showed signs of tiredness and weakness. This battle is nearly finished. Joe quickly watched as Togekiss slowly raised her wings and produced a large blue ball. She released it and directed it towards the ground right in front of Tyrogue. Joe quickly shouted to Togekiss, "Calm down, he's is just trying to agitate you. Calm Down"

Joe began to think that if he caught this Pokemon, he would have to separate them, as they could cause a lot of damage to his home and work space.

"Ok Togekiss, you have done well, have a well earned rest" Joe said as he grabbed Togekiss ball and returned her. AS he slid the ball into his belt he grabbed a small Park Ball and held it in his hand. He pushed his cap to the side and waited till the Tyrouge fell asleep. When he was asleep Joe threw the ball towards him

Tyrouge yawned as his opponent was sent back to her ball. Ah, looks like I can sleep now, it thought. It curled up on the ice cold floor- all the years of tough training has thickened its skin in a literal, not metaphorical, way. I watched as Joe gripped a Park Ball in his hand. The jungle pattern was different on every ball. I wondered why they bothered to design it that way- for these places it wasn't common to find plants anyway. But then, I saw as the snow fell on the ball, a strange pattern formed. Now, it was almost invisible in the snow. The ball was launched at the peaceful Tyrouge. It wasn't long till it clicked.

"Congrats! First encounter, first try, and already a capture." I said. We then trekked up the icy path into the harsh mountain. Flose helped to melt away the walls of snow up the path, but it was still tricky to manuever. The Riolu voice disk continued playing, but nothing responded. The path then split. I looked around, wanted to ask Joe where he wanted TK go, but something interrupted me.

A Makuhita walked out of the snow. With a blanket of soft snowflakes covering its body, it looked like a ghost in the snow. "Maku, makuhita."

"Congrats! First encounter, first try, and already a capture." Timpeni said. Joe smiled as he watched Timpeni slowly place the small ball into her bag. Joe knew at the end of the run, he would obtain his newly caught pokemon. They slowly walked on down the path, trying not to fall over on the ice.

However a small plumb pokemon stood out from the side of the path. Timpeni said to Joe, "Want to battle this Makuhita?"

"Nah, let's be on our way" Joe replied to Timpeni

 

However, the Makuhita was jumpy. With a kick of its muscular legs, it aimed for *Joe's back. The weight of the Makuhita would have crushed him had Flose not knocked him away with a Fire Blast at the last moment (though the charred areas of the cloth have to be mended). The Pokemon said 'Maku' irritably before eating the berry it held. A Sitrus Berry- didn't know Makuhita carried them. Makuhita then annoyed Ponyta with a barrage of Arm Thrusts, all of which she dodged.

"I don't think its going to leave us alone. You have to attack it or use a Pokedoll." I said. Now, how much Pokedolls did I bring? Well, thanks to the new 'inflatable Pokedoll', I think I could just fit in ten into my sling bag. I think.

Joe watched as the Makuhita leaped into the air in front of Joe. It didn't want us to escape so easily. Makuhita began to wind his legs, preparing for a kick. It was lucky that Flose had stopped him, because if Joe got hit by one of those kicks, he would be sent crashing into the ground. Flose suddenly raised her head and produced a powerful fire blast from her mouth. Both pokemon stared into each other eyes intensely.

"I don't think its going to leave us alone. You have to attack it or use a Pokedoll." Timpeni said, Joe handed over some cash to buy a Pokedoll. He didn't really need a Makuhita.

I blew into the deflated Pokedoll. Throwing it at the Makuhita, it floated to the ground before rolling slowly. Makuhita went over curiously before we bolted out. I heard the Pokedoll pop and burst- I think it gave Makuhita enough of a shock to keep it confused for a while. We stopped running, in fear of sliding, and gripped the snow with our snow boots instead of skidding off the ice dangerously. As we walked, it seemed that the whole area consisted of the entire world. It seemed everlastingly peaceful, give for the cold. Flose walked by casually, before neighing. I saw a human-shaped silhouette in a distance. Perhaps it was another trainer ranger pair? No, it has two extra arms... oh god no. I didn't like this Pokemon. Not a single bit. The large four-armed Pokemon gave me nightmares as a child.

The Machamp bended over to pick up a fallen log in its path. It threw it quite an impressive distance, the log going against the freezing winds till we couldn't see it again. Hopefully it didn't just land on someone. "Want to try fighting this Machamp?" I asked Joe.

Timpeni grabbed a large Pokedoll from her bag and blew the doll up. After it was ready she chucked it towards the Makuhita. She quickly grabbed Joe's arm and dragged him off. Joe turned back and noticed a loud bang. It looked like Makuhita had popped the Pokedoll. We slowly stopped in case we didn't slip over on the cool ice. Joe noticed something ahead, it was a black silhouette of a Human looking Pokemon, however there was a catch, it had a lot of arms. It bent down and picked up a log before throwing it away down the mountain edge.

Timpeni turned around and asked, ""Want to try fighting this Machamp?"

"No Thank You, I already have one, however I will take a picture of it. I hear they sell for a bit in the ranger shop" Joe replied to Timpeni

 

The flash lit up the entire area. Machamp fell to the ground, momentarily blinded by the camera. The camera has also been designed to act like a flash bang to Pokemon, tweaked ever so carefully so it would not harm the Pokemon, only send it into a daze. Joe put the photo somewhere safe as we made a run for it. I wanted to stop for Joe and ask which way he would like to go, but the crossroad has... disappeared. I looked at Joe and back at the straight path in front of us. Perhaps we have just went the opposite direction. Yeah, that's it. I'll check my GOS later, I suppose.

As we were walking, I noticed something training in the distance, the sound if kicking still vibrating through the air. That was when the Pokeplayer played again. The training individual stopped, turned, and ran towards us. It seemed toi be a trainer from a distance, and definitely not a Riolu, given its tall figure. But I looked and saw a Lucario staring at us intently. It has sensed us before, but wanted to see us from a distance first before approaching, acting totally normal. But the sound of the Riolu's cry roused the curiosity of the normally calm and still, meditating and concentrated Pokemon.

Joe quickly took a picture of the huge Machamp and saved the small photograph. He put the Camera in his bag and followed Timpeni. After walking for a while, they reached a human shaped Pokemon training ahead. There was silence as Joe and Timpeni watched the Pokemon kicking in the air. Then the small cry of a Riolu appeared from the PokePlayer. The figure turned around and started to charge towards us. As it got closer, Joe realized what it was, It was a Lucario, the evolved version of Riolu. Joe quickly grabbed the Camera and took a picture of this Lucario. Maybe it might help later in the park.

 

Lucario slumped to the floor and only sensed our auras slowly getting fainter and the crunch of the ice in unison with our footsteps. It was a while before I decided we have travelled far enough, and could stop for a while. The PokePlayer replayed, before flashing a 'Change Disk' on the black screen on top of it. That was when I noticed the surroundings were white. Too white. Thank goodness we wore goggles- snow could blind you. I wonder how Pokemon could live here like this. Perhaps their eyes are resistant to the glare of the snow. But I didn't have time to think; upon hearing the noise, a figure emerged, looking like a ghost in the heaps of snow. Its purple head stuck out from the snow-coated body.

"Oh, look. Another Tyrouge." I said. This one seemed a bit dazed, though. I wondered what it was thinking. But as it spotted us, it snapped back to reality and, so show its strength, slammed its muscular fist into the ice. I could see cracks forming in the black concrete paved roads that the ice covered. I looked at Joe and back at the Tyrouge. This one was a bit stronger then most. It would be a bit harder to fight, but a pleasure to battle with, not against.

The Flash of the camera sparkled through Lucario's eyes, then the Aura Pokemon fell to the floor rubbing it's eyes. Joe quickly made an escape with Timpeni. The PokePlayer began to beep as we stopped. The yellow light appeared and indicated that it need to change disks. Joe quickly grabbed another disk and placed it in the Player. the soft sound of a Riolu played again, after hearing for a while it was quiet soothing.

As we carried on a small purple Pokemon appeared from the snow ahead of them. It was another Tyrogue, certainly Joe didn't want another one. Joe turned to Timpeni and said "I would like to carry on please"
