Joe looked a little shaken by the fact that his Infernape refused to obey him. It's always heartbreaking to watch a Pokemon do whatever it wants, completely ignoring its trainer. However, those who are truly strong-willed find a way to reconnect with their Pokemon, and go on to win battles. Joe clearly wasn't about to give up now, not with the capture of this Budew in sight.

Switcthing tactics, Joe ordered his Infernape to launch itself into the air with Mach Punch, then come down with a scratch attack. He was obviously using the same strategy that he used back when he faced the Munchlax, however, this time he was using it as an offensive tactic, rather than a defensive one.

This time, Infernape obliged, slamming the ground with his fist, launching himself into the air. As it came down, its claws raked the backside of the confused Budew.

With a loud shriek of pain, the Budew reeled back, but quickly recovered. Growling, it opened up its bud, allowing it to take in sunlight. As it did, it began to grow to almost twice its size. I had never before seen a more powerful Growth ability! The little Budew was no longer so little as it began another Mega Drain.

I looked in amazement as Zippy preformed the move exactly as I had planned and struck the Budew from behind with a Scratch attack

Then Budew started to open its bud and take in sunlight and started to gain more power. It was using growth and I knew it raised Special Attack. Then started to open it's bud for another draining move.

"Right, this is it" I noticed that the Budew had taken damage from scratch and that unexpected ember attack. I had to catch it before it gain health.

I reached down and grabbed a Park Ball from my belt and threw it in the air towards Budew

"Common Pokeball, Common Pokemball" I chanted to the Pokeball for good luck

OOC: Sorry man, busy weekend :(

Joe reached for his bag, pulling out a green and white ball, his eyes greedy with the thought of finally catching a grass type. Winding up, he threw the Park Ball with all his might, striking the weakened Budew. After a brief flash of green light, the Budew was gone. All that remained was the baseball-sized orb, vibrating as the small grass-type struggled to escape.

After what had seemed like an hour, a spine-tingling “crack” broke the silence, along with another flash of green light. There stood the Budew, surrounded by the same green aura. Another line of energy was connected to Infernape, the Budew sucking the life out of it.

“Aww man, so close,” I said under my breath. I looked over at Joe, watching what he was about to do next...

OCC: Whats up with the MCR?

I looked at the wobbling Pokeball, which was rolling around vigorously, and then suddenly A white flash appeared and Budew was standing there. Then it was covered in a green aura and unleashed another Drain attack towards Zippy. Zippy Took the hit but released a cry of pain. This wasn't going good, I needed to hurt this Budew or Zippy with be in a lot of pain.

I bit my lip as I was thinking then suddenly I knew what to do.

"Zippy, Use Scratch one more time" It had worked for a while and I hoped that it would put Budew in trouble for a easy capture.
