    "No Sir, I will pass this up too," Leo said.

    As expected, Leo had decided to pass it up, but the Diglett was going to be a pain in the ass. We tried to leave but like what the Boldore did, the Diglett simply disappeared underground and surfaced right in front of us again. I sighed and Leo threw another PokeDoll forward, and we quickly left the Boldore and Diglett behind with their PokeDolls.

    Just right ahead, there seemed to be natural light and I got a little excited for natural air since we were in the caves for quite some time now. I led my trainer out of the cave since it seemed to be the only way anyway, and the opening had led us to the exterior of the mountains. But the air was not anything like what I had expected though.

    The air was chocked full of dark grey ashes and it was probably harmful to breathe in too much of these. Still, it was not that terrible now still and I decided we were not going to stay here for long. I looked around for other ways of exit, and noticed that there was another opening entrance to the left of us. There was a distance between here and there but it's not too far either. At least the cave's air was much better than this.

    I was about to bring my trainer to the left of the mountain, when we were stopped abruptly by a rather small Pokemon. This Pokemon was surrounded by a shell of steel-like armor and it seemed pretty fired up for a fight.

    "Would you be interested in this little Aron here?"

    I had already given up on finding a good Pokemon in this area and was just about to suggest that we move on to a different area when something interesting came along our way. It was a small rounded Pokemon with four stubby legs, and a rather large, spherical head. Its body was a dark gray color and its eyes were a pale blue, they looked really nice on him. Portions of steel armor cover its head, legs, and back, which has a single spike on it. Throughout the small iron armored body are small openings in the armor: six on its head, two being the eyes, and one on either side of the spike on its back.

    "Yup, it was something like this that I came here for." I said happily. "I'd gladly capture this." I did a quick scan of the Pokemon before beginning my battle.

    Aron - the Iron Armor Pokemon. Aron are small, big headed Pokemon. They tend to weigh between one hundred and thirty to one hundred and fifty pounds. They generally don't get taller than a foot and a half. Aron is a Rock and Steel type Pokemon. It knows the abilities Sturdy, Rock Head, or Heavy Metal. A new suit of armor is made when it evolves. The old, discarded armor is salvaged as metal for making iron products. To make its body, Aron feeds on iron ore that it digs from mountains. Occasionally, hunger may drive it to descend from the mountains to eat bridges and rails, which may produce some same major trouble and cause it to be viewed as a pest. It usually lives deep within mountains.

    "Okay, we can take this." I said, pulling out a Pokeball, though that was just for dramatic effect, since Shadow was never in a Pokeball. "Let's go Shadow!" The hellhound happily marched forward, ready for battle. Both Pokemon here in this battle had some sort of advantage. Shadow, being a Fire type himself, knew a lot of powerful Fire type moves that would do a lot of damage to Aron. Aron, although not being a Ground type, I was quite certain that he knew some powerful Ground type moves that we were going to have to watch out for. Actually, I had forgotten, Shadow was also weak to Rock type moves, of which this Aron here specialized in, being part Rock type.

    Aron knew moves like Dig and/or Earthquake. It also probably knew Stone Edge and Rock Slide. All these moves potentially would do a lot of damage to my partner. However, a lot of these moves were also Physical moves. If I wanted to cripple this Pokemon early on, now was going to be the best time to do so. I needed to make sure whatever move I had him use was something good. The best thing to do was to burn Aron. Any number of moves would do the trick, but only two would guarantee it if they managed to land. These moves were Will-o-Wisp, the more commonly used one because if poses less of a chance of missing. And Inferno, the less commonly used one because it had a higher chance of missing. However, I knew that Shadow was quite skilled in the ways of Fire so I knew he had a better chance of making this move land than most. I had then decided that that was what I was going to have him use.

    "Shadow, start this battle off with Inferno. I know you can do it buddy!" I called out to him, while motivating him as well. Shadow then begun the assault. He shot an orange stream of fire into the sky. Then, an orb of light blue and blue fire began forming around this flame. He then then fired a spiraling stream of light blue fire with rings of dark blue fire from the orb at Aron. It was a risky start, but if he managed to pull this off, we could easily have this battle. Sure, he'd take a bit of damage, but no where near as much as he would have if Inferno hadn't landed and Aron wasn't burned. I could only watch and hope now to see if this move paid off, if not, we were going to be in some serious trouble. I didn't want to doubt myself, but perhaps a Will-o-Wisp would have sufficed. Still though, as long as any part of the fire from this attack touched Aron, he was more than likely going to be burned, that was all I really wanted at this point. It was actually all I really needed right now.

    I wasn't sure what I'd do next, that all depended on how much damage Inferno did once it landed. Hopefully it would do a lot of damage, but if it didn't, at least the burn. I would probably just have Shadow use a smaller, lesser powered Fire type attack next. That would probably put me in the capture range. I was really counting on this attack, since it was basically the only move other than Will-o-Wisp that could leave a status condition. Shadow knew Toxic, but Aron being a Steel type made him sort of immune to and poisonous attacks, so the burn status was all he could really do.

    @Ataro; Sorry it took so long, didn't really have a laptop, did most of this mobile until today.

    "Yup, it was something like this that I came here for." Leo said happily. "I'd gladly capture this."

    I couldn't help but wipe off the sweat on my forehead secretly. I was kind of worried that Leo was going to be bored on this trip since the Pokemon that have appeared so far were all ... kind of lame. Normally, trainers weren't quite interested in Pokemon like Aron. But this was Leo we were talking about after all. It was no secret that Leo was close to completing the Pokedex, and I wasn't surprised if Aron was one of them that he needed too.

    As the mechanical voice of the Pokedex started to talk in a generic tone, the brief description of Aron was given. Most of it were more of fun facts or "interesting tidbits", but the more important information included that Aron had knew either Study, Rock Head, or Heavy Metal. Additionally, in order to feed its body, Aron actually feeds on iron ores. A fact that I didn't know was that when hunger drives it to the extremes, it can and will descend from the mountain to eat structures like bridges and rails. That's kind of scary.

    "Okay, we can take this." Leo said, pulling out a Pokeball. I thought he was going to send out his Gardevoir, but that was not the case. "Let's go Shadow!"

    I had almost fainted. Leo was being dramatic as usual. He probably thought that he was Ash Ketchum for a while. Regardless, the Houndoom happily marched forward and stared down at the Aron.

    "Shadow, start this battle off with Inferno. I know you can do it buddy!"

    The Houndoom obeyed and fired a sizzling orange stream of fire into the sky. An orb of sapphire blue fire started to form around around the flame, and the powerful flame attack spiraled towards Aron. Aron didn't seemed phased by the attack though, even if it was obvious that the oncoming attack would possibly deal a lot of super effective damage. However, keeping calm, the Aron's head shield glowed briefly in a flash and glistened. That had to be Iron Defense. I knew that Aron's physical defense was rather strong, unlike its special defense. Moves like Iron Defense though, coated the user's body part with another layer of protective iron, and it often worked against most kinds of attacks.

    As the flame spiraled forward, Aron's head had glowed again. This time in a white flash. Aron had taken off and charged forward quickly, leaving a trail of dust behind it. I wondered if the Inferno was strong enough to push Aron back, but with the earlier fortified defense and an attack that seemed like Take Down, it was possible that Aron might be able to push forward still. My questions were quickly answered as Aron clashed head-to-head with the Inferno attack, and the searing burst of fire smashed into Aron's head, before spreading outwards as the white flash repulsed the flames. Aron's speed was significantly reduced as it tried to fight against the Inferno.

    This Pokemon was definitely stubborn. It knew that the attack would be super effective against it, but it was going to try and push it back still. Its perseverance seemed to have paid off however, as a final boost of yellow flash appeared behind it and it charged forward. Pushing and extinguishing the flames, Houndoom appeared shock as a small figure appeared from the flames and smashed into him. The hellhound couldn't help but whimper from the pain of the Take Down and looked around to find the Pokemon responsible for that, but Aron had already backed away to its original position.

    Compared to Houndoom, Aron seemed to be in a much worst state. The rest of its body was fine, but its head seemed to be bruised in a faint tint of red. It flinched again, as a flame of fire ignited from its head suddenly, enveloping itself in a orb of fire. It quickly dissipated though, but the damage has been done. Aron had been burned from the impact with the Inferno. Other than the red burn stains in its head, it still seemed to be quite composed. I would imagine the force of the Inferno was largely reduced with the defensive powers of Iron Defense and the charging force of Take Down, but the burn status was going to hurt it much more than the damage of Inferno. It didn't seem to realize that however.

    "Alright, good job Shadow!" I called out to my hellhound. "We're making progress. That attack landed perfectly. Now we don't have to worry about you getting hurt too badly. Don't mistake this for his attacks being weak, because that could cost us in the long run. However, his attacks won't be as bad as they would be if he wasn't burned."

    We were definitely off to a good start. We didn't need much more work to finish this battle off and capture Aron. As a matter a fact, I was predicting that this next move that Shadow would preform would be all that I would need to capture Aron. That would help us finally move on.

    Aron was a tough little guy, but it was most definitely something that Shadow could handle. We just had to be careful and not knock the little guy out, that would be a complete waste of our time. The park had certain weird rules, one of them being that you could not capture a Pokemon if it was unconscious, which didn't particularly make any sense to me, but I wasn't in the mood to question it. I don't know of anyone that accidentally, or purposely, knocked out a wild Pokemon. Everyone here was extremely careful not to do that because it would be a waste of time for them.

    Now, Aron was looking pretty worn out, but no where near worn out as he should be when we were done with him. He just needed a good Fire type attack to do some decent damage. A powerful Flamethrower attack would more than likely do the trick. It was less powerful than Inferno, but it should still do nearly as much damage, depending on how much power Shadow puts into it.

    "Alright Shadow, I want you to use Flamethrower. Put some juice in it, but don't overdo it. We don't want to knock the little guy out now. Just do enough, or near enough for me to capture him. Don't forget he is burned and will take burn damage soon which could also knock him out."

    Aron wasn't just going to sit there and take it, he was going to strike back, but I just wasn't sure how yet. I figured with a Rock or Ground type attack, but I didn't think it would be anything major like Earthquake or Stone Edge, those two could do some serious damage to Shadow, even with burn halving the attack of the iron armored Pokemon. For sure though, he was going to do something that was super effective, or at least I assumed so. I already had an Aggron, so Aron was going into my permanent basics collection as a Larion. My brothers and I already had a large collection of these Pokemon.

    Shadow arched his head back and opened his large jaw. Orange flames began to form between his upper and lower jaw and then shot towards Aron. Aron still had enough energy to dodge or counter this attack, so I just had to keep my eyes peeled open to call out any counter attacks to counter his counter attack. Regardless of how this next move went, I was going to attempt to capture Aron after this next attack. I just hoped that it would be enough to capture it, otherwise I would be stuck taking more damage and wasting more time than needed.

    "Alright, good job Shadow!" Leo called out to his Pokemon. "We're making progress. That attack landed perfectly. Now we don't have to worry about you getting hurt too badly. Don't mistake this for his attacks being weak, because that could cost us in the long run. However, his attacks won't be as bad as they would be if he wasn't burned."

    This battle was probably one of the fastest I had witnessed personally, in the National Park. Type match-ups like these are ridiculously obvious, in that you know who is going to win it for sure. Houndoom, being a Fire-type, had a natural type advantage over Aron, whom was a Rock and Steel-type Pokemon. Even if Houndoom was weak to Rock-types, after an inflicted burn condition, Aron's physical attack prowess would be drastically reduced. Aron really didn't stand much of a chance.

    "Alright Shadow, I want you to use Flamethrower. Put some juice in it, but don't overdo it. We don't want to knock the little guy out now. Just do enough, or near enough for me to capture him. Don't forget he is burned and will take burn damage soon which could also knock him out."

    As Leo's Houndoom opened his mouth to reveal scorching orange flames, the Aron had started to make his move as well. It was difficult to tell what was that attack, but there was a mysterious blue hue of aura that was started to surround its body. My attention had returned to Houndoom quickly and he had fired a stream of crimson orange flames towards the Aron. As the aura continued to surround Aron, it stood there without moving. It had almost seemed extremely defiant to me. First, it had challenged the power of Inferno by charging head on into it. Now, it was standing in the line of a Flamethrower attack, and it was not even trying to dodge.

    I started to wonder if such a powerful attack would even possibly knock Aron out, but quickly dismissed that possibility. With careful instructions, Leo had instructed specifically not to knock out Aron. More importantly, Gentle-natured Pokemon like Houndoom are clearly aware of their trainer's intention and will usually exercise extra caution to not accidentally knock out their opponent.

    Waiting to see if Aron would perform any last minute attacks, I watched on intensely as the flames engulfed Aron and it started to wince in pain. Suddenly, the flames were extinguished as the blue aura had overtook the flames and engulfed Aron instead. Just like there was an invisible ejecting force that had pushed Aron, the small-built Pokemon shot himself forward and smashed his head into Houndoom's body. The power of that attack was so powerful that it had sent Houndoom crashing backwards. Aron himself had dropped onto the ground after the aura had dissipated, only to find himself consumed by another ball of flame, this time from his burn condition that was inflicted earlier on.

    Judging by the power of that attack and the damage that Houndoom had received, it was most likely a Head Smash attack. It was an extremely high-powered Rock-type move and it was helped by both the fact that Aron was a Rock-type, and Houndoom was weak to Rock-type attacks. I had recalled Head Smash inflicting major recoil damage however, but I knew that Aron could possibly have the ability, Rock Head, as well. That would explain how it was able to negate the recoil damage taken by Take Down and Rock Smash. Then again, I knew that an attack like Rock Smash would have dealt much more damage usually. It was possible that with his current state, Aron was struggling to even try and attack Houndoom.

    Regardless, Aron was definitely weak now. He was struggling to even stand up straight as the flames disappeared after a while, but the burn condition was something that could not be forgotten. A capture should be attempted soon enough, or Aron might just collapse from the effects of the burn condition.

    @Ataro; Sorry I'm barely posting. If you aren't or don't want to Ranger anymore, it's cool man just let me know since I know I took forever.

    This battle was going faster than I had expected it too. I was ready to capture the little guy. All I really had to do was wait for burn to take effect and then I could toss my Parkball at Aron. It was as simple as that, nothing more to it. If Aron decided to attack though, I would have to be careful it wasn't a move that did recoil damage like the move he just used, Take Down. Otherwise, the little metal guy would knock himself out from exhaustion. I wasn't sure that I had ever seen a Pokemon knock itself out from exhaustion before. Then again, I never really let a Pokemon get that low either.

    "Shadow, just lay back and don't attack. If Aron attacks you, use Protect. What I want is for the burn to take a little bit more damage then I can capture it." I said to my most trusted partner. I knew I had nothing to worry about on his end. I reached into my bag and pulled out a small round sphere. I pressed the center button and it quickly enlarged to the size of a baseball.

    I was pretty sure Aron was too weak to move, but you could never let your guard down. He could have one last attack in him, that is why I had Shadow on standby ready to use Protect if that came to be necessary. It didn't seem likely, but it was always good to be prepared. I wasn't sure what else I would encounter on this run, all I really needed was one more Pokemon. Either Gligar or Sandile would do me just fine, but I wasn't too picky right now... seeing how I captured Nosepass. I raised my arm and arched it back, waiting for the right moment.

    OOC: @Dinobot; Sorry about the delay, I am incredibly lazy.

    ~~~~~
    I was flying through the air on the back of my trusty Staraptor, Broadblade. I had heard that Leo was in the Park, and I hadn't seen him for ages, so I had decided to tag along with him. The ladies at Headquarters had told me that he was with Ataro up on Mount Deckbi, but so far I had been unable to find them. It didn't help that visibility wasn't very good today. Deckbi wasn't going to erupt or anything but it was belching clouds of gray smoke that really screwed with my line of sight. Thankfully, Broadblade had limited psychic tendencies, so about half an hour into looking he let me know with a loud screech that he had found them. I gripped onto his neck feathers as he dove right into the haze. It was an exhilarating and scary feeling to dive as fast as he was while being unable to see anything.
    Broadblade broke through the haze bank and landed quickly on the ground. We were just outside a cave entrance. I saw Ataro and Leo watching a battle between a Houndoom and an Aron. I recognised Shadow, which meant that Leo was battling an Aron. I watched as he threw a Park Ball at the Pokemon, and the device started shaking. Ataro was looking around absentmindedly until he saw me. He gave a shout and rushed over to me.
    "This is actually perfect timing," he said to me. "I didn't expect this run to go so long and now I'm running late. Do you mind taking over for me?"
    "Uh, sure," I replied. "Just make sure you left Ivy know, I don't want her on my case."
    He nodded and strolled back into the cave. I walked up to Leo and clapped him on the shoulder. "Hey there buddy, how's it going?" I asked him.
    Just as I did so, the Park Ball burst open and the Aron was revealed in a flash of white light. It gave Leo a dirty look and immediately kicked up a small cloud of dust to hide in. I couldn't suppress a chuckle.
    "Apparently not well. Look on the bright side - it shouldn't be much longer until a capture!"
    OOC: Thanks Chain, didn't notice you posted.
    "Hey there buddy, how's it going?" Chainy asked me. He sort of startled me. I looked around for Ataro, but he had already left. I wondered why that jerk ditched me, but I couldn't worry about that now.
    "Hey Chainy." I looked back to the battle and saw Aron come straight back out of the damn Parkball. "Damnit," I muttered under my breath.
    "Apparently not well. Look on the bright side - it shouldn't be much longer until a capture!"
    "Yeah," I mumbled, "Hopefully not much longer."
    "It wants to hide then huh. Alright Shadow, use Odor Sleuth. Weed it out." I called out. Once he did that, I would once again make the last and final attempt at capturing this Aron. If it failed, the little guy would be knocked out and I would be forced to leave it be."
    OOC: @Dinobot;
    Leo wasn't very impressed with the Aron's choice of defensive technique. "It wants to hide then huh. Alright Shadow, use Odor Sleuth. Weed it out," the Ranger commanded.
    The Houndoom went quiet and started sniffing around intently: on a quest for Aron. There were a couple of false leads but as the Dark-type approached a large rock the sniffing became more rapid. Finally, Shadow stopped and started growling at the rock. To begin with I thought the Pokemon might have made a mistake, but a jet of mud erupted from underneath the shade of the rock and splashed right into the middle of Shadow's face. The dog yelped and scrabbled backwards before pawing at his face.
    "Interesting hiding spot," I said. "I certainly wouldn't think to look there but now the Aron has definitely revealed itself. It's your moment to shine, Leo."
    I wondered why Leo was even trying to capture an Aron. Considering the type of Pokemon he used (Houndoom, Gardevoir, etc) Aggron seemed a little too brute-strength for him. Still, maybe he was catching for someone else. That's what I always did when I went on an expedition - trying to locate rare Pokemon for my little brother Jathan.
    @OOC: Did my capture fail? @ChainReaction01; If I catch it, end the run for me sweet cheeks.
    Aron had pulled off some sort of trick, I was getting quite annoyed. This little guy wasn't worth the damage that Shadow was taking or the shenanigans he was doing. However, I couldn't just quit now, not after the investment I already put into this. What would be the point in that. This was definitely it though, if I failed here, it would all have been for nothing because there was no doubt in my mind that it would be knocked out. I had never been this close to losing a Pokemon due to fainting, the pressure was actually exciting though. I could feel the adrenaline rushing in my body.
    "Interesting hiding spot," He said. "I certainly wouldn't think to look there but now the Aron has definitely revealed itself. It's your moment to shine, Leo." I nodded and took out yet another ball. This time I took out a Hyperball and threw it.
    "Hopefully this will be it buddy, or else we're screwed."
    Again, I'm lazy and grumpy, but the capture works and Bee wants to leave so I'm posting this so that he can. I'll come back and edit this into a post when I can be bothered, but Bee has officially ended his run.
