Roark decided to keep his Electivire in the water, which was definitely a smart move, battle-wise. The only problem was that the water would conduct his electric attacks, which meant that he would be limited to his weaker moves. I certainly didn't want any unaffiliated Pokemon that just happened to be swimming by injured by stray rays.

“Swim towards Shellos and latch onto it. As soon as you do, give it a Thunderbolt! Whatever you do, don't allow Shellos to use its slime and slip out of your grip!” Roark called out.

The large yellow Pokemon finished his impromptu bath and started powering towards the Wild Pokemon using a powerful breaststroke. It then tried to keep a hold of the Shellos using its hands and legs, but the small slimy Pokemon was definitely putting up a good fight. The task was not made any easier by the jets of water that the Shellos kept repeatedly squirting into the Electivire's eyes.

Eventually, Electivire managed to grab a hold of the little Pokemon and discharge a Thunderbolt. The electric energy glowed bright white and snaked throughout the water. Most of it, however, was focused on the Shellos. When the glow faded, I saw that the Shellos had managed to wriggle out of the Electivire's grip, but it was now looking quite weak indeed.

"Be careful not to fire off too many strong attacks like that," I said to Roark. "You don't want to accidentally harm any nearby wildlife."

I watched on with a smirk on his face. I knew Shellos would be a tough cookie but didn't imagine it would put up such a tough fight. Electivire struggled to hold onto it but being stubborn paid off in the long run as he was able to get a Thunderbolt off despite the fact that he was getting Water Gunned in the face.

Roark saw how worn down the Shellos had become and knew that now was the time to attempt a catch. I pulled a Park ball from my belt and got ready to throw it.

"Be careful not to fire off too many strong attacks like that. You don't want to accidentally harm any nearby wildlife." the Ranger said to me. I didn't want anything to happen that would get me kicked from the Park, but I knew it had to be done. Fighting on land gave Shellos an advantage with the mud and fighting in the water was the only way to weaken it. Surely the ranger would have understood. At least I had hoped.

"Park Ball, go!" I threw the ball hard and fast at the tired Pokemon. As it disappeared inside the ball, Electivire back down a bit but stayed on its guard just in case the Pokemon broke out. I watched on, focused all my attention on the ball and hoped that it would be a catch.

OOC: @DarknessRuler; I rolled really shitty, sorry :(

Roark seemed to understand my warning, which was good. I had never yet thrown a Trainer out of the Park, because they almost never genuinely intended harm. Usually it was a misunderstanding or a lack of knowledge or simply not thinking about their surroundings when unleashing their most powerful attacks. I watched with a small smile on my face as he drew a Park Ball and threw it towards the wriggling Shellos. His Electivire held the Pokemon up so that it was struck neatly by the capture device. The Wild Pokemon was transformed into ruby-coloured energy and absorbed.

The Park Ball fell onto the water and floated there, shaking from side to side, although it was hard to see with the movement of the waves. I was always fascinated by how PokeBalls floated on water - the designers had to think of everything I guess. Someone would be all kinds of pissed off if they caught a shiny Kingdra only to have the balll containing it sink into the depths of the ocean.

There was a white flash as the Shellos broke free. It was panting heavily and barely managing to stay on top of the water, but it also managed to stick its tongue out at Roark. Then, I saw something interesting. Instead of going back to battle, the Shellos picked up the Park Ball with the sticky goo on its back and started swimming towards Roark. When it reached land, it waddled up to the Trainer and offered him the ball.

"I think it just wanted to demonstrate its strength, and now that it's seen yours the Shellos wants to come along," I said to Roark. "Try capturing it again - I think it will work this time."

OCC: @ChainReaction01; Sorry for taking so long for this post. I'm going to try and get more done.

Roark watched as the ball floated on top of the water shaking. He knew he had caught the Shellos and was feeling pretty high and mighty. As he strutted over to pick the ball up out of the water, he was forced back as he saw that flash of white light shoot out of the ball. Shellos popped out of the ball huffing and puffing due to exhaustion. Barely able to stand on top of the water, Shellos still managed to be rude and stick it's tongue out in a taunting manner. Then the oddest thing had happened. Shellos stuck the Pokeball to its body, took it over to Roark and began to nudge his leg. Roark grabbed the Pokeball and stared at it.

"I think it just wanted to demonstrate its strength, and now that it's seen yours the Shellos wants to come along," the Ranger said to me. "Try capturing it again - I think it will work this time."

Roarked gave Shellos a puzzling look. Not once has a Pokemon ever willing wanting to be caught after a battle with him. Slowly, Roark allowed the Pokeball to slip out of his hand and hit Shellos on the head, disappearing in a red light into the ball once again.
