"Don't you have someone to be taking?" Melissa, the desk lady for today said. For some reason, we kept getting new desk ladies, and they were all young, probably around my age. I didn't know why, but I liked it. I walked over to her.

"Jeez, I just got back from my vacation and you already want to throw me out?" I grinned as she handed me a file.

"Yes, now get going." She smiled as she blushed a little. I grabbed the file and winked at her as I made my way back to my office. I had just gotten back from my vacation at a resort, which I had to say was quite relaxing. I grabbed my backpack and four Pokeballs to help assist me on my upcoming park run with the Trainer. I walked out of my office and back to the front desk.

"Okay," I said to Melissa as I put my Ranger hat on. "Call me, you know, incase something comes up." I said winking.

With a huge grin on my face, I walked out. I knew that she'd call me. I whistled loudly and a couple of seconds later, a large, black demon dog came running at me.

"Hey buddy!" I said as he placed his two paws on my chest to lick my face. He had went on his own vacation just like I had. "Alright, let's see who we got here. Jessse? He should be waiting for us at the entrance of the Botanical Gardens, let's go." I tossed a Pokeball to my side and a light brown humanoid Pokemon wielding two spoons stood before me. He had darker brown plates on his knees and elbows.

"Smokescreen, can you teleport us to the Plants entrance?" I asked. It was obvious that he could, but I found it better to ask rather than to make them do it. He smiled and nodded as his body began to glow white. A bright light flashed before my eyes, and in an instant, we were gone.

When the light flashed, we found ourselves at the entrance of the Botanical Gardens.

"No Smokescreen, I meant to the Abandoned Power Plant." I said shaking my head as I laughed. He grinned and shrugged his shoulders. He lifted his spoons and began to glow white again. When the light cleared up again, we found ourselves at the Abandoned Power Plant.

"You should've clearly said where you wanted to go." He said grinning. I playfully punched him on his shoulder. He punched me back. I looked around and saw a teenage kid waiting by the gate. He was pretty tall. I saw a tattoo of Rayquaza on his left arm.

"This should be interesting." Smokescreen said.

"It looks like its about to rain!" Shadow said. That is one thing that I liked about Smokescreen, his Psychic powers allowed us to talked telepathically to each other.

"Hey," I called out to the kid standing by the gate. "I'm Ranger Leo, and obviously, I'll be your Ranger for this little expedition. Shall we move on?"

I was standing on the ground, waiting for my Ranger to show up, just talking to my first Pokémon friend, a large, fiery, tan monkey that I called Fuemono. “What do you think is holding up the Ranger?” I asked, fiddling around with some dirt that gathered on the ground with my right arm, the arm that didn’t have the Rayquaza tattoo on it, “I mean it’s been some time now.”

“Fer infer fer fer nape,” he answered, flaring up a little bit only to settle down just as the Ranger appeared, most likely using the Alakazam that he was also with, “FER! FERNAPE!” my buddy shouted, as glad as I was that they’d finally appeared, and with a decent entrance.

“Hey,” the Ranger called out to me before telling me his name and, as if I didn’t ready know, that he’d be my Ranger for the trip.

I got off of the floor and dusted myself off, “Well, nice to meet you,” I stated, probably a little more coldly than what it meant to be, “My name is Luciano and this.” I motioned to my Infernape, who seemed to be eying the Alakazam rather cautiously, “Is Fuemono, and yes, let’s get started. However, is it true that there’s a Rotom here?”

Commencing...

“Well, nice to meet you,” He stated. “My name is Luciano and this is Fuemono." He said, pointing at his Infernape, who had his eyes on Smokescreen. I figured it was because of the type advantage. "and yes, let’s get started. However, is it true that there’s a Rotom here?” I stopped when he asked me that question. I remembered finding a pair of Rotom here once, however, I released them shortly after capturing them.

"Yeah, there are some Rotom here, you probably won't find any though. They only come out on certain places, at a certain time, on a certain occasion." I said, not fully explaining what I meant. I led him towards the double doors of the Abandoned Power Plant. I stepped in and looked around. I turned back towards Luciano's Infernape.

"Good thing you brought him, we're going to need some light." I said. I heard a spark of electricity coming from my left, and from the corner of my eye, I saw a small Shinx cuddled in a ball in the corner. It was asleep. "You want to wake it or go on?"

OOC: Technically, one can assume that when one is waiting for a Ranger.

I shrugged when he gave me the vague answer and mentally crossed my fingers as I motioned for Fuemono to follow me, “Good thing you brought him, we’re going to need some light,” he mentioned, but before I could tell him that he did not know Flash, he seemed to be eying a Pokémon. It was a small, blue and black mouse-looking creature, but I recognized it to be a Shinx, by the shuriken-like thing on the tip of its tail.

“Might not be a Rotom,” I whispered, but it looks as though he can quite a feisty Pokémon, “What do you say, Fuemono?” When I asked the question, I sensed that he stopped looking at the Ranger’s Alakazam and at the small Pokémon. After a while, he seemed to agree, but I did not really want to wake it up from its slumber rudely, in case it might wake up grumpily. With a slight hesitation in my voice, I told my best friend to use a Flame Wheel on the small thing, with a small nod the giant monkey started to shoot a fireball, but, as opposed to sending it off towards the Shinx, he tucked himself into a ball and started to roll towards the small creature.

“What do you say, Fuemono?” He asked his Infernape. I wondered if he was going to go for it. The Shinx looked so relaxed while it was sleeping. I didn't want to disturb it, however, that was not up to me.

Then Luciano told his Infernape to use Flame Wheel on the small lion cub Pokemon. I looked at Smokescreen and nodded. His eyes flashed a dark black color. He sent a small shock to the Shinx to wake it up. I wanted it to be fair. The Shinx didn't know what was coming.

The Infernape curled up into a ball of flames and launched itself at the Electric Pokemon. Lifting its small head, it saw the oncoming attack and jumped into the air. It tried to backflip off of the wall, but the Infernape slammed into it. When the Infernape finished its attack, it backed off and I saw a dent in the wall. The Shinx shook its body a bit and sent a bolt of electricity towards the Infernape. I watched and waited to see what Luciano would do.

I mentally cheered at the impact that Fuemono did before seeing that the small black and blue Pokémon was charging its cheeks, meaning that it was about to do an electrical attack, “Fuemono!” I shouted, “Look out!” Just as I warned my fiery human-sized monkey to watch for the sparks that the Shinx was going to send, Fuemon leaped into the air and landed on a series of metal pipes. Just then, I had an idea as my eyes darted around, “This is a power plant,” I thought to myself, “However, maybe there’s some things that are not grounded.”

“Fer? Infer? Fer nape?” Fuemono asked as I was attempting to figure out something that wasn’t connected to group.

Just then, I noticed the pipe that Fuemono was on seemed to be free-floating, “Fuemono!” I shouted, “Stay up there! I think you’ll be safe.” While I stood there waiting for the small Shinx to finish charging and shoot off the spark, I hoped that my plan would work, but I also knew that Fuemono could handle a little bit of zap. Nevertheless, I shouted another series of directions, “If you fell that the sparks are going to get close to you jump backwards a little bit, but the pipe which I hope is not grounded should take the shock and not you.”

I knew this Shinx was pretty young. Its electrical attacks were powerful, but they were not very well controlled. It launched its attack all over the room, barely hitting the Infernape. Some of the electrical blast came towards us. Smokescreen jumped forward and with a swift movement of his left arm, threw up a small forcefield that protected us from the attack.

I could hear the Shinx breathing heavily as it began to charge its next attack. Sparks of electrical energy surrounded its body, if it preformed this attack, its power would be greatly increased. Even though it didn't control its attacks well, if it landed the hit, it could cause some damage.

My first thought was to rush to grab Fuemono, but then I noticed that he seemed to be okay, somewhat hurt, but not that badly. However, I noticed that the Shinx was building up power as sparks flew around a little bit, ‘So the little thing can’t control its shocks,’ I thought to myself before smirking a bit, ‘This may work out to our advantage. However, I can’t just physically attack it.’ Just then, I had a great idea, “Fuemono!” I call up to the ceiling, where the large Infernape managed to stay.

“Fer?” he asked, waiting for my command, “Nape?”

“I was you to start leaping around from pipe to pipe, as if you were using a Quick Attack,” and as I give the start of the command, he leaped from pipe to pipe. While he did so, the sound of his feet landing on the metal pipes echoed throughout the empty plant with different variations of tink tink tink and an occasional whoosh as he leaped above the three of us. As he did this, I continued to give the command “While you’re up there, find a spot that you can stop and use a Flamethrower.”

There were about seven to ten more tinks before a final whoosh where, somewhere in the ink-filled darkness a large stream of fire lit up the darkened ceiling of the plant before the red-orange stream of fire started to head straight to the blue and black Pokémon.

“I want you to start leaping around from pipe to pipe, as if you were using a Quick Attack,” Luciano said. “While you’re up there, find a spot that you can stop and use a Flamethrower.” To me, it seemed like it could work, but it also seemed like a waste of time, because while the Shinx was charging its attack, it couldn't move. Being still a child, it couldn't move and charge at the same time because it would lose its concentration and would have to start again. Most people didn't know that, but it came in handy at this moment. I watch the Infernape jump from pipe to pipe, waiting to strike at the perfect moment. Then, the Infernape stopped moving and shot a large stream of flames towards the Shinx. I could feel the heat from the flames and it felt kind of nice in this cold building. The flames engulfed the small Shinx. I could hear it crying from inside the flames. Then, from within the flames, I saw a small electrical ball that was growing rapidly. Smokescreen knew what was coming and moved in between Lucaino and me, throwing up another force field.

Seconds after, electrical energy was discharged all over the room. The Infernape was knocked off of the pipe, but I couldn't see anything else, because the light from the electricity was blinding. I tried to focus my eyes as the light slowly faded away. I could see the Infernape standing on its two feet, electrical energy was coming off of its body. The Shinx panting a bit on the opposite side. I waited to see what was going to go down next.

I shielded my eyes while attempting to see what was happening through the blinding lights, but I failed to see anything until Fuemono was standing on the ground. Meanwhile, the Shinx was panting across the plant from him, but as I watched the sparks fly off of my starter Pokémon I didn't quite know what to do. It was hard seeing the sparks come off of him as I wanted to just rush in get him through it, but I stood my ground and decided I needed to clear my mind. 'Wait a second,' I thought, 'Clear my mind? I think we both could use a little calming down after that attack.'

"Fer?" my loyal friend asked, looking at me, struggling to move as he did so, "N-nape."

Seeing this only made me more worried as I told him, doing my best to prevent my voice from wobbling, "Fuemono, close your eyes and ignore the sparks that are around, use Clear Mind, please."

He looked at me for a few moments, then to the small Shinx, and then back at me. At first I wasn't sure if he was going to actually listen to me before slowly nodding, still fighting with the sparks surrounding his body, and close his large eyes while drooping his head a little bit.

"Fuemono, close your eyes and ignore the sparks that are around, use Clear Mind, please." Luciano said. I could hear the concern in his voice, but then again who wouldn't be. If it were my Pokemon, I do whatever I had to to protect them, but that was probably because I was a Ranger.

When I could finally see again, I saw Infernape standing on the floor, concentrating hard on his opponent. This was risky, but lucky for him, the Shinx was taking a breather from the attack it just dished out. It he out a low growl as he prepared for another attack. It cringed a little. I could see the burn spot on its side. Infernape appeared to be ready for whatever Lucaino called out for him to do.

I also closed my eyes and attempt to calm myself down a little bit before hearing the Shinx let out a little bit of growl, but I dismissed it. We need to focus, I thought, my eyes still closed, It's burned and looks almost ready for me to use a Ball, but lets...do...a...little...more. Meanwhile, I could feel Fuemono staring at me, as if he wanted to do a little bit more himself before I opened my eyes and smiled a little bit, "Fuemono, I think it's time we used Mach Punch!" I stated.

He responded with a large grin before he started to move towards the little thing, crouching downwards to slice through the wind and to be more at same height as the Shinx, "Innnnnnnnnnn..." he cried as all that I could see was a fiery blur, "feeeeeerrrrrrrnnnnnnn...." he continued becoming more and more blurry, "aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaape!" he cried before be became almost impossible to see.

"Fuemono, I think it's time we used Mach Punch!" He finally said. Doing a close range attack was risky, especially with a Pokemon who couldn't control its electricity. If he was close, the Shinx wouldn't have to worry about trying to hit his opponent with accuracy because he'll already be too close. Mach Punch, however, was a pretty fast move, and I was pretty sure the Shinx couldn't move that fast.

The Infernape had already begun its move, it was getting harder and harder to follow. Before I knew it, the Shinx was slammed into the wall from the impact of Infernapes attack. It roared weakly and wildly let out another attack. It was using Thunderbolt, that was surprisingly headed straight for Infernape.

The instant I heard the sparks forming from the cheeks of the now-tired Shinx I knew that I needed to get him out of the way, "Fuemono!" I shouted as loudly as I could, "Jump to the pipe..."

Fuemono bent its legs down, like a spring being compressed, "Infer..." he stated, waited until the yellow sparks started to form better and just as I finished the command with a "NOW!" he was already up in the air with a loud, echoing, "NAPE!"

While he was in the air, I reached behind me and started to reach for one of the round balls that I had in my bag. It took a little bit of some time, since it was filled with 7 or so bottles of potions and fragrances, but when I finally managed to feel the right object, I pulled it out of my bag, and made sure that it was a green Park ball, I threw it at the small blue and black creature. As it went flying through the air, I could hear the whooshing-sound as the dark green and white orb got closer and closer to the creature. I started to take slow and deep breaths, as the ball his the Pokémon and bounced back, releasing a red laser that surrounded the Shinx and then pulled it into the ball before it landed on the ground. As it sat on the ground the center of it started to blink red while the whole think shook in place place, giving off a series of beeps.

Luciano reached in his pocket for a circular device used to trap the Pokemon inside. Once the Infernape preformed his attack, Luciano tossed the Parkball, sucking in the small lion cub. The ball shook on the ground several times before finally coming to a stop.

"Nice going, you captured the Shinx." I said, picking up the ball and placing it in my pocket. "Since you can't use it until you leave the park, I'll hold on to it. Where shall we go now? Up the stairs, or stay down here?"

I saw the ball stop wiggling in place before chuckling to myself and seeing Fuemono's smiling face as well before the two of nodded to each other. However, I was a little less than enthusiastic when I heard Leo say that he'd keep a hold of the Shinx, but I decided that it was for the better as he asked which path we wanted to go. Eventually, I decided that the better Pokémon would likely be on the higher floor before I turned to my own Pokémon and ask, "I want to head on up, what do you think."

Unfortunately, Fuemono didn't give a verbal answer instead it nodded and started to head of the stairs ahead of me, but then slow down when he noticed I was attempting to catch up to him. I could almost instantly see the sweat drop forming on the back of his head as he chuckled a little before for allowing me to pass by him first. Once the two of us made it to the top of the stairs, we waited for Leo to catch up to the two of us as I scanned the floor.

"I want to head on up, what do you think." He said. His partner, Infernape, didn't waste anytime. Without saying anything, he just took off up the stairs. It was kind of dangerous to just take off like that, especially since this area was loaded with Voltorb. One wrong move and it would cause them to blow up. We did not want that mess here. I ran to catch up with Luciano.

"Try not to take off like that." I said. I heard a the sound of a ball rolling. Wasn't long before a red and white ball rolled into the room. "You're lucky you didn't accidently set one of these guys off. Want to battle it?"

Once Leo caught up with up I heard him warn us to not take off like we did. To be honest, I didn't really know, at least not right off the bat, but then the sound of a ball rolling came towards us and then the infamous red-and-white Voltorb cam into our view. As it did, the ranger told stated that we were lucky that we didn't set them off, and I was myself, since it wouldn't be pretty for any of us. I looked at Fuemono and returned him to his PokéBall before he could dash off like he did towards the thing and shook my head. "This is one Pokémon that I don't want to fight..." I explained, a little bit of a nervous chuckle in his voice.

"This is one Pokémon that I don't want to fight..." He said. I didn't blame him, these Pokemon blew up for anything so it was risky battling it.

"Smokescreen, you know what to do." I called out. The Psi Pokemon nodded and lifted his two power spoons. A small could of smoke covered the Voltorb. When the smoke cleared, it was gone. "There may be more around here so be careful." I said, walking forward. I stopped when I heard the loud crackling sound of electricity coming from the room ahead of us. The door was closed, but from the bottom crack of the door, I could see the flashes of the electricity going off and on.

"Wanna check it out?" I asked.
