Airik did as I asked, passing me the money in the form of another pre-folded clip. I quickly slipped it into my pocket and threw a PokeDoll off to the side, into the bushes behind the trees. The Primeape enthusiastically leapt after it, and a couple seconds later we heard the sound of something being thumped around a lot. It sounded like the Fighting-type was trying its best to kill the stuffed animal.

"Let's move on before it gets bored and tries to find us again," I suggested.

Airik nodded and we moved along the path a little faster than normal. Thankfully I had recovered from the earlier run so it wasn't too hard. Then, what I had been waiting for finally happened. The path forked off in two different directions. The left path curved gently out of sight, and appeared to be the natural continuation of the original walkway. In contrast, the right way seemed like an abnormal growth: it jutted off at a right angle, and peering down it one could easily see how there seemed to be much less light in the air. It was almost as if the forest was giving the travelers a conscious choice: the light, easy way or the dark, unnatural way. I knew that the stronger Pokemon lay down the right fork, but it was up to Airik to choose where he wanted to go.

"Well, which way feels hot?" I asked my Trainer.

Airik chuckled to himself as the Primeape leapt after the Pokedoll. It was an amusing sight to see. Seconds later you could hear the sound of thumping and pounding as the Primeape beat the literal stuffing out of the Pokedoll Plush.

"Let's move on before it gets bored and tries to find us again," James’s suggestion was a clever one, Primeape were known to be very temperamental in their natures. Airik nodded and followed his ranger. The Path ahead forked in two separate directions. The path to the left seemed gentle and a little like the way the path would normally go. Sun seemed to stream through the tree tops and cast a soft light. The path to the right however seemed much more foreboding, like it had forced its way through the normal forest growth like a open sore.

"Well, which way feels hot?" James asked Airik

“Right, I want to go deeper in to see if i can find something interesting” Airik Replied

He prepared his pokeplayer and hit play as the duo head down the right hand path the sound of a Joltik seemed to drift into the trees next to the path

"Right," Airik replied almost instantly. "I want to go deeper in to see if I can find something interesting."

"Well, that is the path to where the more powerful Pokemon live," I reasoned. "We didn't have much luck with that Carnivine disk, but maybe we'll stumble across something else that's just as cool."

Airik nodded agreement and checked his Pokeplayer. The screen showed that there was still a good five or so minutes left in the disk, so we still had ample opportunities to encounter a Joltik. As we walked further into the forest, the cries seemed to be swallowed up by the trees. I realised this was because there was too much "physical noise" for the echoes to bounce back. I wondered idly if this meant it would be harder for the Pokeplayer to attract a Joltik.

As it turned out, it was not. I heard a light crackling noise above us, and suspended from a branch by a translucent thread of string was a tiny yellow Pokemon. It was easily the smallest Pokemon I had ever seen. Its tiny legs waved through the air, as if it was giving us a friendly greeting. The sparks it was emitting, however, alluded to something entirely different-more akin to a warning.

"Well, there's your Joltik," I said to Airik as I pointed at it. "Please make sure not to cause too much damage to the surroundings while you battle.
