Chilly breezes flew over Ragna's black and thick hair, pushing it backwards. Ragna knelt down as he tried to pressed his thin pale fingers on the greeny grassy grounds of the dock at the National Park. Chilly winds symbolized Christmas: it is an event where everybody would get together along in an extravagant feast, with their relatives if many would presume. Persons wearing different outfits were in his sight, as well as numerous rangers that would soon escort them towards their specific places.

"It's starting," Ragna sighed as he watched the trainers being taken one by one. In a flash all of them started to fade away into the light. He was still wondering if somebody would even take him. He wouldn't get his hopes up.

To add some winter touches on this winter, he tossed a white and red Pokeball into the air. Opening, it let a brilliant light, revealing a ghostly figure. Its white body was shallow inside, its red ribbon tied to its waist added beauty to the Pokemon. Its arms hanged down from its skull-like head that was somewhat made of ice--it had a purple face inside. It blew a freezing gust gently as the winds created some ice marks on some trees and on some of the grass Ragna was currently stepping on. One thing was for sure, Froslass was loving the time during its stay outside of its Pokeball.

"We need to wait for our ranger, Froslass." Ragna placed his left hand on Froslass' head and gently pat it. Froslass closed its eyes, in return, and smiled faintly--it was so faint that Ragna wouldn't even notice its smile. Froslass tried to sit down on the cold ground together with Ragna as both of them decided to wait for their ranger. Their current course was to gather five Christmas items in a certain area before Ragna could even pass on the next area. If he would be lucky enough he could totally dominate this event and he could even bring home the bacon.

Ragna stared far at the towering buildings that stood close to one another, trying to wait for his ranger that would later escort him inside the park. This could be his break to win something: he hasn't been winning anything ever since he went inside the park and joining some events. This had to mean something to him. Froslass opened its eyes as it tried to meet with Ragna's. Its bloody red eyes pierced through Ragna's pale face.

Froslass could sense that Ragna was slowly getting nervous as the time for him to get inside the park hastens.

"Waiting here won't do us any good, Froslass. We'd better go on our own, this time." Ragna stood up from where I sat and began my long walk from the dock to the woods. Ragna took one last glance at the dock because everything would begin as he walked farther away from the dock together with Froslass. The white ghost happily followed Ragna as both of them looked at the port slowly fading into the light.

He immediately bumped into a wooden tree. He was definitely at the woods now, so as stated in the route he chose. It was a really verdant place, lots of wild Pokemon roamed inside as Ragna waited for a Pokemon that would eventually ran into him and give him a certain present: Christmas Items. He looked above into the sky, but the giant leaves of the trees prevented him from looking further. He faintly smiled as the event was just about to begin.

As Ragna and the white Froslass walked on the snowy paths of the woods, Ragna tripped over a large oval Pokemon. Suspiscious about the Pokemon's identity Ragna turned around to check who that was. Its purple color was visible seen against the thick snow of the woods. It had large red eyes that freaked Ragna out. "That must be our target, Froslass, getting in the way like that. Prepare for battle!" Ragna pointed his fingers at the defensless cocoon as Froslass immediately prepared for battle. The snow was intense and small ice stones fell from the sky, it was because of the hail. Good thing Ragna released Froslass, he knew these situations would eventually arrive.

"Apparently, we're a bit strong against a Bug-typed Pokemon but it's not that much. We'll make our first move by combining Thunder Wave and Blizzard!" Ragna began to command its Froslass, who nodded silently in reply. Ragna should be careful when using Froslass because its docile nature could eventually make Froslass faint. If they should attack now, they should attack with all of their might.

Froslass placed its arms towards its chest as a small white orb began to appear in front of her. It eventually began to change colors from white to a bluish hue, growing bigger and bigger as well. Suddenly small sparks of electricity began to appear from the blue orb as Froslass carefully aimed it towards the Cascoon. Before Froslass could release the Thunder Wave attack it blew a strong gust of wind that had large bits of snow. Together with the Blizzard, the Thunder Wave made its way towards the purple cocoon. Having small electrical surges on the Thunder Wave, some of the snow pieces were coated with electrical surges as well. Putting hail into effect, the damage that Froslass would deal to Cascoon could be strong enough.

"That's it Froslass, now in case Cascoon would launch an attack. Prepare yourself to use Protect!" I added as Froslass continued to stare at the Cascoon as the Blizzard and the Thunder Wave made its way towards the cocoon. Froslass expected an attack coming from Cascoon as she prepared herself for using Protect.

The snowy gusts of Blizzard mixed with electrical surges dealt by the Thunder Wave managed to reach the purple cocoon. Eventually, the Cascoon jumped into the air and began to bite Froslass using Bug Bite. Luckily, Ragna commanded Protect beforehand. Froslass started to envelop itself with a green shield, but the attack seemed to penetrate through the barrier, managing to damage Froslass up a bit. Then, Cascoon lied down on the ground until a blue color surrounded it as its body began to shine brightly, using Iron Defense.

"Using it would only raise your defenses, Cascoon. Froslass use Hidden Power then prevent it from spreading by using Ominous Wind by directing all of the spheres towards Cascoon!" Ragna commanded another combo. Froslass crossed its arms until she was covered with small white spheres. The spheres continued to circle Froslass until all of them met at a certain point, near her chest. Gathering the spheres together, Froslass extended its arms forward until a gust of purple wind began to blow the white spheres towards Cascoon. About ten to twenty pieces of spheres were sent flying towards the currently-defensive cocoon. Ragna had to make another backup plan in case Cascoon would eventually create another attack.

"Use Double Team to prevent Cascoon from damaging you again!" Ragna shouted. Froslass started to create multiple copies of itself, surrounding Cascoon in the process. Ragna was doing a pretty decent job for now because he acted as if he was battling in a Pokemon League or in a contest, hence the series of combos he had just commanded Froslass. She was done surrounding Cascoon with copies of itself, waiting for yet another attack incase the Cascoon survives the spheres along with the purple gust.

Ragna ran towards near one of the trees, because apparently Cascoon was tossed towards a snowy tree near Ragna. Slowly bits of snow started to fall down, covering Cascoon in the process, but surely this doesn't stop it from continuing its attacks towards the Froslass. "Isn't that one determined cocoon?" Ragna thought to himself, watching the pile of snow began to shake until Cascoon was free. Surprisingly, it was able to jump into the air until several purple needles came out from Cascoon's body, directing it towards the clones of Froslass. One by one, it faded away until it eventually met the real Froslass. But it was able to dodge it before it could even scratch Froslass. Although a few marks were made on her body, this doesn't look good.

Suddenly Froslass roared loudly as a purple of a darker shade began to shroud Froslass. The effects of Ominous Wind must have worked, everything was going well after all. Ragna would have to deal with the remaining health of Cascoon by performing even more complex combos that could fend it off. Froslass' icy blue eyes met Cascoon's bloody red eyes, both of them were filled with tension, especially Froslass because of Ominous Wind's effects. Cascoon dropped back into a patch of snow until its body began to glow with another blue color and its body became shiny enough to see one's own reflection. Using Iron Defense for the second time would be a bit useless by now. To prove it, Ragna would make Froslass' final moves that will fend Cascoon away.

"Froslass, combine Thunderbolt and Shadow Ball one last time. That should settle things with Cascoon." Froslass agreed without any further hesitations. Her body was covered with a newer aura, one that was colored with yellow. She also extended her arms towards Cascoon again as a ghostly purple ball appeared right in front of her, slowly getting bigger and bigger in size. An electric surge came out from Froslass' body, striking the Shadow Ball and causing it to be covered with electricity. The dark ball was mixed with yellows and purples with a bit of electricity coming out from it every now and then.

Finally Froslass released the electric Shadow Ball towards Cascoon. The sphere was so big that the snow on the ground seemed like it created a path for the sphere towards Cascoon. Ragna smiled in excitement, not really evil but he waited for the attack to make contact while Cascoon would sooner leave them be, dropping a Christmas item that would benefit Ragna on this travel.

"Froslass, use Protect once more, this is going to make a larger impact than usual." Froslass shouted its name in the skies until she was covered with another green barrier, preventing recoil damage that would be dealt by nature itself or if Cascoon launched an attack. Ragna always took safety measures, for everyone's benefits. He watched as Froslass covered herself with Protect while the attack made its way to Cascoon.

The shadowy electric ball had managed to reach Cascoon, tossing it deeper into the woods. Ragna ran towards Froslass and embraced her tightly until she pointed at something sparkly on the cold grounds of the woods. Ragna stopped rejoicing for a while until he went to the spot that Froslass pointed. His heart was bumping quite fast, this was the first time he had successfully fend off a Pokemon and this was his first two items on the hunt, two candy canes.

"Aren't we lucky?" Ragna grabbed the two canes, placing it inside Ragna's brown bag for items like these. Good thing he was prepared for such items. He placed the bag on his back, letting Froslass stay for a while to feel the snowy gusts of hail. Both of them traveled deeper into the woods to encounter more Pokemon that would eventually drop Christmas items that Ragna was hunting right from the very beginning.

As the two of them ventured deeper into the woods, it seemed as if the place was having thicker piles of snow, making them hard to battle Pokemon because of the icy terrain inside the woods. Even the barks of the trees turned into ice as Ragna pressed his fingers at a branch to check if they were still capable of living, due to the thickness of the snow in here.

The woods was certainly a sight to see, the glistening snow that fell towards the ground was outstanding. It kept reminding Ragna about Christmas eve, all of the laughter and the fun times they had inside a house or a cottage. Froslass was checking out the woods, too, we tried to split up so that we could increase our chances of finding a Pokemon to battle with. As Ragna ventured into the woods, a faint cry of a Butterfree was heard just above Ragna. He looked his head up above as he ran towards Froslass to get it into battle.

"Froslass, you've got to come over here, quick!" Ragna dashed towards Froslass, tripping on a fallen log in the process. The white butterfly noticed a person running towards the white ghost as it followed Ragna. Froslass turned her head around to see her trainer coming near her, being followed by Butterfree.

"Since it's hailing and all, put it into an advantage by using Blizzard and Thunder Wave!" He pointed his shaky fingers towards the flying butterfly. Froslass nodded quickly and sprang into action. She didn't need any other thoughts for she had already executed this kind of move when she battled Cascoon earlier. So this shouldn't make things too hard for Froslass. She's usually one of those obedient Pokemon at Ragna's arsenal, although this nature could sometimes get herself into deep trouble that will make faint in some instances.

Froslass extended her arms towards the Butterfree as it opened her mouth. A chilling breeze came out from Froslass' mouth, mixed with snow particles that went directly towards Butterfree. Quickly, Froslass crossed its arms as a bluish orb came out from her chest, sparking with electricity. Roaring her name, the Thunder Wave was shot at the opposing enemy, mixing with Blizzard once more. The bits of snow was enveloped with blue electricity again, making Butterfree a bit vulnerable to the attack since the Blizzard was wide enough to land a hit on Butterfree.

"That's it, Froslass. Keep it up!" Ragna jumped for joy as he watched Froslass execute the attack, which was currently making its way towards Butterfree. "Use Double Team and spread out through the forest to keep yourself from harm!" Ragna added as Froslass multiplied herself, creating clones to distract the Butterfree.

Froslass created multiple copies of herself, some blended well with the snow. Butterfree was smarter, it flapped its wings hardly when green pollen fell from it, causing the Froslass to go asleep.

"No, not now!" Ragna complained, grabbing Froslass' Pokeball on his pocket and retrieving it back. It tossed another Pokeball into the air, blue light came out from it. A yellow pokemon that had brownish armor-like plates on its body protected it from the coldness of the weather. Alakazam was definitely a fine choice for Butterfree, hopefully.

"Alright, now use Hidden Power with rock powers and hold it with Psychic!" Ragna commanded, even though Alakazam preferred to attack, to dodge, and to attack again, Ragna chose the attack phase to be first before dodging. Alakazam crossed its spoons near its chest, hopefully a blue aura could envelop Butterfree sooner so that it could make it stay still on one place.

Suddenly white orbs began to surround Alakazam. These white orbs turned into rocky brown, connoting that the power of rocks was seen on the Hidden Power. It roared its name out when the orbs shot out in different directions. All Ragna could do was hope that the blue aura could appear on Butterfree sooner and the Hidden Power would hit.

"Use your speed to dodge incoming moves, Alakazam!" Ragna prepared Alakazam for some attacks that Butterfree could evenually make.

Alakazam's white spheres landed on the Butterfree, but it wasn't perfectly able to perform the Psychic attack on Butterfree, so it missed. Butterfree, on the other hand, flipped its wings hardly back and forth until it was covered with rushing winds. It flew around in circles at a great constant speed.

"Wow, that's amazing," Ragna whispered to himself, amazed by the attack that Butterfree did. At this rate, there could be a chance for attacks to miss because of Butterfree's speed to evade the attacks, possibly. Alakazam watched the butterfly whooshed forward and backward, as if teasing Alakazam with its speed.

"Use Hidden Power, but mix it up with Thunder Wave to bring it down and to reduce its speed!" Ragna commanded. Suddenly, white orbs were surrounding Alakazam again, the color of the spheres were turning into rocky brown. It crossed its arms and aimed at the Butterfree carefully, until a blue electrifying orb appeared in front of Alakazam. Without any further hesitations, the spheres shot at Butterfree at an amazing speed, followed by the Thunder Wave attack.

"Come on, Alakazam. This must hit!" Ragna hoped too hard, his fingers crossed behind Alakazam's back.

Alakazam's moves struck the Butterfree, successfully fending it off.

"Awesome, a milk and a cookie!" Ragna cheered as he approached the two Christmas items that the Butterfree dropped. He grabbed it and eventually placed it on his backpack. His hand reached out into his belt on his waist and grabbed Alakazam's Pokeball. The red and white ball clicked and a red light absorbed Alakazam and placed it inside the Pokeball.

"Okay then, two more Christmas items and I'm moving on to the next zone!" Ragna raised its left arm and its right foot, doing some sort of an anime-styled happy pose. He marched at the snowy terrain of the woods and hoped for another opponent to catch his attention.

"Gah, a Lickitung!" Ragna yelled as a pinkish fat Pokemon appeared in front of Ragna's sight. "Alakazam, on the double!" Ragna added, as Alakazam sprang into action by moving forward to protect Ragna.

"Licki," the Pokemon said its name out with its long tongue sticking out in the frozen lands of the woods. Funny, Ragna thought that a Pokemon like this wouldn't appear here since this place was currently frozen solid--not entirely, but most of the trees and plants here were icy white and were a bit frozen.

"Alakazam, use Calm Mind to start things off then proceed with a Psychic!" Ragna commanded quickly, Alakazam nodded in reply.

It released its feet, which were down at the ground, until it levitated itself above the ground. A bluish aura covered Alakazam as it closed its eyes and meditated peacefully for stronger special attacks and defenses. Hopefully, the Calm Mind would have an effect on Alakazam. Then, while still levitated, it opened its eyes and crossed its spoons right in front of his chest. It glowed with a different colored aura, purple, and hoped that Lickitung would soon be covered with the purple aura as well.

"Use Protect afterwards to protect whatever Lickitung will do to you!" Alpha added, preparing for countermeasures.
