Buzz stepped out of the waiting room, they had finally found a ranger to take him out after the emergency appeal for trainers. Curiously the lady at the desk said that he had to put on the santa beard before starting. She burst out laughing as he pulled on the white furry beard.

"You are on your way to the Great lakes there is Jeep just outside, that will drive you there," The receptionist force out inbetween chuckles.

"Hmmph" Buzz grumbled as he stepped out of the building and into the jeep. "I've heard some odd rumours about whats going on in the park at the moment, but if I'm going to look stupid then I refuse to be the only one! River out you come."

With a flash of red light, a small green bird with large wings fluttered onto Buzz shoulder. After routing round in his bag, he pulled out an even smaller Santa style beard and forced it on the struggling Xatu.

"Ha, at least I'm not the only one," Buzz laughed.

"Must you be so immature?" River responded telepathically.

Buzz stepped off the Jeep at the entrance to the Great Lakes, large sections of the lake were frosted over. Snow inches deep lay upon the ground and it was a wonder the Jeep had managed to get as far as it did.

"Well River, I guess we should start making our way to Outer Heaven. Our route is going to be blocked, and if the rumours are true the Pokemon are resisting capture and behaving agressively."

Buzz walked towards the now frozen lakes, the ice looked deep enough to ice skate over. Not that Buzz carried ice skates, slowly a pink bipedal creature walked through the bushes that lined the edge of the woods. Upon seeing Buzz and the Xatu upon its shoulder, the Slowbro's eyes appeared to glaze over.

"Well, it looks like the rumours are true. Slowbro, wants a battle. Come on River, lets see if its psychic abilities are better than yours!" Buzz said as the bearded Xatu took flight. "Use Guard Swap now!"

River began trying to delve deep into the Slowbro's mind. River sensed the Slowbro's defensive boosts and knew automatically the action to take. The psychic link River aimed to set up would swap the two Pokemon's specially defensive boosts.

"OK, now lets go with Ominous wind, but make sure the wind picks up some of the snow from the ground. Slowbro maybe part water but any extra effect will be useful"

River flapped her white tipped wings and a great purple wind erupted swirling around the Slowbro. The purple vortex soon began to pick up hints of white as the snow was whipped up into the wind before being unleashed upon the wild Pokemon.

OOC: Ominous Wind + Snow = Snominous Wind

Buzz watched as River whipped up a purple-white Snominous Wind that looked like it did a large amount of damage to Slowbro. It didn't give the normal pale purple glow around River which would indicate the power boosts.

Suddenly Slowbro opened its mouth and released a torrent of water. The beam of water of water was speeding through the air directly at River Tam. "Quick, dodge it River," Buzz yelled, but it was to too late the Water Gun struck one of River's wing. River tumbled in the air and almost crashed into the ground.

But with a flash of green light, River teleported directly behind Slowbro, and fluttered up into the air. We had worked together so many times, she knew exactly what I was thinking. Admittedly that could be because of the telepathy.

"Fly back to me River!" Buzz shouted. Then use U-turn, and strike it hard. Buzz knew what that River would know what he thought, and he hoped not calling out the attack would give him an advantage.

River knew exactly what I wanted her todo, as she always did. I saw her flying through the light snow towards me but as quick as a flash she turned and had already struck the still oblivious Slowbro. The speed shocked the poor wild Pokemon and it ran off as fast as it could, after it took the super effective hit.

Buzz started off to carry on around the lake, but then a voice in his head distracted him. "Something just fell out of the Shellder!"

"Huh, you were right River. As usual," Buzz said as he stepped over to where the Slowbro was standing. Picking up a small box, "Milk and Cookies? What in the hell is going in here."

Even with the confused look on his face, he slotted the small box into his back pack. "Oh well, lets keep it moving!"

Buzz looked across the frozen lake and took a moment to take in the beauty, when something flew into his eyes. "Argh!" Buzz yelled wiping the ice out of his eyes. Tears of pain welled up in Buzz's eyes and he glanced forward to the cause of the debris.

A blue frog Pokemon had burst out of the icy lake, but Buzz's eyes hurt too much to concentrate. River Tam however took the initiative and had forseen the ice explosion and carefully dodged all the ice particles, its eyes then glowed light blue and Toxicroak was surrounded in a light purple aura.

Buzz meanwhile was still wiping his now bright red eyes, trying to see what was happening in the battle. River, keep it up.

Buzz pulled out a medikit and began to wash his eyes out, and finally regained his sight just as the Toxicroak appeared to collapse from exhaustion. "Honestly River, these Pokemon sure are crazy. Hey, look over there at the hole in the ice it was holding something too."

River flew over the frozen lake and picked up another box containing Milk and Cookies. "Buzz, its more Milk and Cookies," River thought.

"What? Seriously? OK, I accept how Pokemon can hold Expert Belts and Muscle Bands, but how does a Pokemon without any visible sign of a pouch hold a box of Milk and Cookies?" Buzz question. "Oh well, one of lifes mysteries I guess. River, you've done great. Return."

River Tam vanished in a beam of red energy and Buzz continued to walk around the lake. The lake had only frozen up to about a third of the way round and Buzz saw no more Pokemon till he past the last section of ice.

As he was looking at the trees on his left, he saw a blue blur whizz around him. He had to focus hard to figure out what was going. "A Mantine? Well Electro, looks like its your time to shine!"

Buzz threw the first Pokeball on his belt, releasing the yellow and black Electivire. It roared with pride as it was released. "Ok, I want you to really speed things up with Quick Attack then as you get close to Mantine, try and anticipate where its momentum will take it. Then charge up your fists with your excellent electric energy and hit it hard with a ThunderPunch!"

"Electivire!" Electro shouted again, and took of in a black blur of speed. Buzz didn't even bother trying to watch the two Pokemon, they were moving to fast for the human eye to see. What Buzz did see was the sparks of electricity jumping of Electro's fists as it charged up ThunderPunch. Buzz hoped Electro would be fast enough with the Quick Attack boost.

Buzz watched as the blue and yellow blurs collided, Mantine's wing struck Electro's legs flipping him over. Electro flipped over the Kite Pokémon and threw its electrically charged fist into Mantine's back. Buzz saw the blue creature crash into the floor and slide back into the water.

Buzz spotted some red inbetween the thin layer of white, stepping forward Buzz picked up two Candy Canes. "Well its not Milk and Cookies, but still very strange." Buzz said as he hooked the canes into his bag. "Come on Electro, lets go for a run."

The pair ran began to run in in the snow, snow was picked up in the background.

Suddenly Electro stumbled over a white mound in the snow, "Woop, Wooper!" the small creature began to cry.

"Aww, erm well this is kind of an outmatch for you Electro. So lets go with a nice Quick Attack we don't want to hurt it too much," Buzz said to Electro.

The wooper took the Quick attack, and began to dance. Buzz noticed the weather had turned from snow to slushy rain, he sighed. "So much for all that fun snow. Okay Electro, it wants to battle lets hit it with an Ice Punch."

As Buzz called the attack the Wooper opened its mouth and fired out a beam of Water but Electro burst straight through it. Its striped fist turned pale blue as icicles began to form, hanging from the furry coat that normally creates Electivire's immense electrical energy.

"Don't hit it too hard though, its only little. I wonder what is causing all this aggression in the wild Pokemon?" Buzz yelled after Electivire.

As Electro's fist connected with the small Water Fish Pokémon, ice began to form all around it. It was frozen solid. "Come on Electro, lets get moving."

Buzz and Electro set off and saw another box of Milk and Cookie in the patch of grass where Wooper was lying. "For the love of Arceus!" Buzz yelled.

Suddenly a flash of red appeared and River Tam flew around him and Electro, moments later Buzz got that feeling of being squashed through a tube that was too narrow. Buzz thudded to the floor of a great valley. The Teleport was so unexpected, Buzz had to shake off the nausia.

"River, what the hell did you do that for? Why are we in Meteor Valley?" Buzz asked as he rolled onto his back in the thin layer of snow. River didn't respond instead flew straight at Buzz's hip. Buzz opened his mouth ready to scream, but the flash of red light from his belt stopped him.

Electro was still out of his ball standing over Buzz. "Why do you think she brought us here Electro?" Buzz clambered to his feet and looked around. It soon became clear, a small green ball of feathers hopped out of the forest to the edges. "Everytime she senses a Natu, honestly!"

The Natu appeared to close its eyes and focussed on the gargantuan Electivire that had appeared in front of it.

"Come on then Electro, lets see if wants to play. You remember what its like to battle a Natu right? Just kick things of with a ThunderPunch but also force a Thunder Wave out of your fist rather than your hole body. That way the Punch will be less powerful, but hopefully we will Paralyze the bird so we don't have to do much damage to it." Buzz explained to Electro.

Electro noded and sped into action his right fist raised and a blue wave of electricity built up around Electro's fist.

The small Natu put out a quick burst of speed and flew head first into Electro. Electro following Buzz's orders threw his fist into the small bird. The connection was stronger than expected and Natu was sent flying back into the forest. Buzz watched as a Crystal dropped from the Pokémon.

"Oh dear, that was a bit stronger than I had intended Electro," Buzz muttered patting his friend on the back. "Oh well at least it didn't have Milk and Cookies, but I wonder what this crystal is."

Buzz slotted the crystal into his filling bag, when he had the idea of using an empty Poke Ball to hold all his new items, he flicked a small switch on the inside of Ball to change the energy link from Pokémon to objects and soon his bag was almost empty again as all the items were shrunk into the ball.

"Come on then Electro, lets head up this valley at the end is Mt. Oktori and from there we can get to the Outer Heavens Outskirts." Buzz said as the pair walked.

After ten minutes of watching the environment and walking through the long valley, Buzz noticed a pink auro had sprung up around him. He began to levitate a few inches of the ground. Odd, I didn't see River come out of her ball, must be a wild Pokémon.

The pink aura vanished immediately and Buzz was dropped back to the floor. Buzz heard a high pitched giggling, looking behind him he noticed a small humanoid creature that looked as if it was wearing a dress. Pulling out his Pokédex the automated voice informed him the creature was Ralts, a psychic type.

"Well Electro, looks like we have a prankster on our hands. Lets see if it likes your Hidden Power!"

Electivire closed his eyes, and two white orbs appeared in front of him and began to circle his body. The balls quickly multiplied and were sent hurtling towards the Ralts.

Buzz clambered back to his feet as Electivire's Hidden Power hit the Ralts, sending it onto its back. The grin on its face had gone and tears began to form. It began to wail loudly, then vanished into thin air as it Teleported away. A small grey bag dropped onto the ground from behind its back, a couple of small presents rolled out.

"I should really stop being surprised by what these things are carrying," Buzz laughed as he pulled the sack over his shoulder. "Come on buddy, lets keep moving."

The pair took off at a run, Buzz could just about keep up with the huge electric type. Buzz soon began to overtake the Electivire though. He looked back to Electro as it began to run a lot slower. "What's going on?" Buzz looked down and there was a small dark canine. Poochyena's face was distorted into a grotesque expression. "Electro it's a lot faster than you know so I want you to clear you mind, focus upon your attack power."

Electivire sat on the ground and was encircled in a pale blue aura beginning to meditate. "I want you to wait for its attack and then hit back with Brick Break," Buzz yelled.
