[OOC: oops ... my bad. I guess I had Snover in my head from reffing Derian's basics - lol. Well I would have done the same thing any just pretend it used hail in the cave XD]

The rain beat down hard on Buzz's face as he watched his electric type battle another legendary Pokemon. The Freeze Pokémon looked magnificent as it flew with ease by the mountain. Buzz could see bolts of electricity darting over Electro's body as he built up the charge.

Electro let out a great roar as a huge bolt of lightning shot directly upwards into the sky, arcing across the dark rain clouds towards Articuno. The yellow bolt lit up the sky, and Buzz could see the whole park for a brief second as the energy cursed through the legendary Pokémon's body.

The pain it suffered was obvioulsy substantial, as it soon fled flying over our head. It was about to pass over top over the mountain but then Buzz saw its wing falter, and it crashed into the mountain side. A pile of rocks fell and struck Electro before Buzz had the chance to react.

"Electro, Return." Buzz said rasing an arm with Electro's Poké Ball. The red light fired across the gap in the path way and the Electivire was sucked back into its ball. Buzz quickly released him on this side of the gap. "You ok?"

"Electi!" Electivire nodded.

"Well lets keep it moving guys we must be nearing the top by now?" Buzz said to his companions. He realised those two had really come up trumps for him on this trip. They have battled hard and defeated legendary Pokémon. He wondered what would be waiting for them when the reached the Outer Heavens.

Another crash as rocks fell in front of him, a hole in the side of the cliff face had appeared. A great statue like creature lumbered out. "Oh my, another legendary. Regigigas, this sure is one crazy trip through the park."

Buzz rummaged around in his bag for his camera, once again noticing that the locket that had shone red when battling against Deoxys was shining once more. How very strange the park is at this time of year.

"Electivire, quick, Meditate to calm yourself and focus your Attack power. Then I want you to jump and slide into a powerful Low Kick and once you connect I want you to using your trailing leg, push of the ground into a somersault. Once you are in the air over the goliath," Buzz instructed, "use Brick Break on its back."

Buzz watched as his Electivire jumped into action, his sliding kick struck the slow moving golem like Pokémon, and Buzz smiled as the feats of acrobatic prowess performed by the the Electivire paid of as the legendary Pokémon fell to its knees and crawled back into the mountainside.

He slotted the two santa suits left behind by the Regigigas, into his bag with the others. Buzz wondered if these items meant anything, as all the Pokémon seemed to have them. He wasn't even sure why he was picking them up, something was compelling him to do it, as if someone were controlling his actions.

Well we should keep moving, don't you think, River?" Buzz thought to his companion, though no response came as River Tam rolled her eyes. Why do I bother talking to you?

"Hey, you think I want to hear all your strange thoughts, I really don't care if you find it amusing that someone is terrified of Crobats, for example," River replied sarcastically.

Buzz chuckled as the trio continued to walk around the mountain, soon they came to a scene that was curiously similar to the start of the day. Another Tyrogue was training not to far ahead of them. He was practising spinning on his head, presumably in training to evolve into a Hitmontop, Buzz thought.

As the trio stepped closer the small grey Pokémon leapt into its battle stance ready to attack any second. "Well we have fended one off today, so River, lets see if you can keep going. I want you to wait for its attack and then uses Teleport to reappear a few metres behind him. Using Psychic I want you to really hit it hard," Buzz said as the green bird flew from his shoulder. Electro, who was walking a few paces behind Buzz, decided to sit down and watch the battle with Buzz. "We've had a rather long day haven't we, Electro?"

Electro simply looked at his trainer, as small jolts of electricity danced across the air between his tails, whenever the two tails got close to each other.

Meanwhile, River was hovering a few metres above the ground eagerly waiting her opponents move. She had closed her eyes and was already focussed upon where she wanted to be when it attacked. Her psychic abilities meant she would know when Tyrogue went to attack.

River flapped her her wings and suddenly vanished as the Tyrogue charged at her. Buzz smiled as she reappeared in a pink aura, just behind the wild Pokémon, ready to unleash a devastating Psychic attack. The purple psychic energy struck the Tyrogue hard. It fell forward clamping its head, it looked around to where River flew high ready to attack once more.

Seeing it was beat, the Tyrogue ran off. It dropped some candy canes on the floor as it ran off. Buzz shook his head, as he picked them and slotted them in his bag.

"Come on guys we should get moving, I think we are getting closer to top we should be able to get to the outskirts and to the bottom of this crazy journey." Buzz said to his companions.

They walked up the grey path looking over the vast range of the national park, the Mountain looked over the Gardens as well as the Lakes where they had been walking but yesterday. Buzz smiled as he remembered the battles his companions had gone through to get this far.

Suddenly rocks and dust were scattered all over Buzz and his friends. He looked to mountain side and a hole had appeared leading down into a cave. A pale blue orb of energy was hurtling towards the trio.

Buzz ducked down, as River instinctively pulled up a protective shield in front of the sphere protecting them. Buzz glanced into the cave, to see a jackel like bipedal creature. Its paws had two metallic spikes and were all black.

"A Lucario, well I think we have the perfect combination, Electro if you will," Buzz said to to his Electivire. Who upon hearing they first Aura Sphere had tried to leap into action but got trapped inside River's Protect. "Electro, I want you to dive into the cave, leading with a Brick Break aimed at the floor in front of Lucario, so that you can force up rocks around Lucaro and trap him. Upon impact use your amazing power to spring yourself up and over him into a Fire Punch aimed at Lucario."

Buzz watched as Electro nodded and dived into the cave, both fists glowing white as he built up the Brick Break attack. River, while he is doing that I want you to use Roost and recover some health.

River landed on the ground beside Buzz, relaxing and recovering health. He peeked down the hole leading to the Lucario. He saw Electro gliding down the hole.Hes yellow and black fists glowing with power as he crashed into the ground. Towers of rocks formed infront of the Lucario, as Electro was already springing up over the fighting Pokemon. Roaring flames licked at Electro's fists as it flipped.

The punch was thrown hard into the Lucario, who crashed into rocks, as it fell forward its legs flung out into Electro. Electro crashed into the floor. Buzz marvelled at the power of the Pokemon and wasn't surprised, even if he was appalled, to hear reports that in distant lands Pokemon were treated with fear. The darker reports even suggested segregation and acts of Pokécide. The worst implied this was a government run operation within the region.

"You have defeated me in battle, I am now your humble servant." a strange voice said in Buzz's head. Confusion crossed Buzz's face, he had never experienced any other Pokémon using a mind link, although he assumed they could.

Well, for a start my Pokémon aren't my servants, we're friends first- Buzz thought.

"You treat me like a servant, just saying." River interjected.

Oh, shush you! As I was saying, as much as I would like to add you to my team, all the park balls aren't working at the moment. The receptionist said something about strange radiation, anyway you are free to go. The Lucario looked surprised at this attitude, but said nothing and simply bowed and dropped a Santa Bag on the ground, then proceeded to walk off into the caves.

Buzz quickly instructed Electro to pick up the santa bag and returned him to his ball. River and Buzz set off once more around the path that lead up the mountain. Buzz felt the air begin to chill, as his hands began to shiver he reached into his bag and pulled out a thicker sweater. He pulled it over his head but it got twisted and his head was stuck. River, could you give me a hand? Buzz thought. River sighed audibly and grabbed the sweater in her claws, and pulled down, Buzz's head popped out of the top. Thanks.

They walked for five minutes, ever climbing steeper and steeper they went up the mountain. Buzz could tell why this was a haven for Ice Pokémon, and by extension Ice Pokémon enthusiasts or gym leaders.

Soon they stumbled upon a snoozing Smoochum, it was relaxing by the mountain side, Buzz tried to creep past it as not to wake it but he tripped over one of its legs. The Smoochum jumped into the air, and looked rather confused, as to what was going on. "Oh crap, quick River use Ominous Wind!"

River Tam flew from Buzz's shoulder and quickly began to flap her long green wings, imbibing the wind generated with a dark energy. It was a curious move that had a rare side effect, if performed right it had the chance to raise River's performance, increasing all her offensive power, defensive power and her speed. It had proved it self very useful in battles.

River's Ominous wind swept around the Pyschic type and seemed to hit it hard, Buzz saw the small, overly cutesy Pokémon take the hit and didn't flee straight away. Well, looks like we have a fighter, River.

The small pink Pokémon charged and jumped at the now hovering River, and pounded her with a glowing arm. River crashed to the ground and slammed into a rock. She quickly picked herself up and flew back to land upon the rock she had crashed into.

"Ok I want you to use Night Shade." Buzz said, pleased that River didn't look hurt.

River flew back up and began to focus her mind, she opened her now black eyes and sent out a great beam of energy. It was, as black as the night sky and sent a shiver down Buzz's neck to look at it.

The dark beam of energy was heading towards the baby Pokemon, it rolled to its left to avoid the attack. It's eyes widened in terror as it looked uptowards a circling River Tam in the sky. It appeared to be indecisive about its next action.

Buzz was about to instruct River to attack once more, but the Smoochum quickly leapt down the side of the path firing off a Ice Beam in its path to slide quickly. Buzz smiled, as he watched the pink blur zooming down the slope. Great job, as always, River.

Buzz had heard tell of a similar Pokemon to Xatu in a far off region, and rumour had it, that this new Pokemon actually outclassed Xatu in most base power measurements. Buzz was sure River could handle it though.

"Why always the tone of surprise. You better not be thinking about replacing me." River muttered in Buzz's head.

Aww, anyone would think you actually like being my Pokemon, Buzz retorted, smirking, as River just shook her head and flew on.

Buzz carried on walking the path, carefully avoiding the icy patches upon the path. It was at this particular moment that Buzz wished he had packed his snow boots.

Soon they came to a small lake tucked away into the cliff face, a small herd of Walrein, and their young were playing in the partially frozen water. Buzz didn't want to get close, but he could see a small tunnel at the other end of the lake, and he had a feeling it could lead to a quicker route.

They began to sneak their way roung the lake. Unfortunately the alpha male of the group turned and spotted them.

"So much for the quiet route. Ok, Electro, out and use Meditate, while it gets out of the water. Then I want you to charge two ThunderPunches, one in each fist. Then hit the attacker only," Buzz said. "Hopefully, that will stop any others attacking us, and we can pass on through to the tunnel, and maybe we cand finish this crazy adventure."

Buzz's great Electivire popped into existence from its Poke Ball. Once again it closed its eyes, and began to focus on his attack power, waiting for the opportune moment to strike.

Electro's fists shone a brigh yellow as thw Walrein charged, its large tusks bared, aimed at Electro. The Walrein dugg its teeth into the Electivire's arm, the electricity from the arm pulsed through the Walrein's body. It froze in paralysis, then Electro capitilised, throwing his other charged fist into the walrus' thick body. The impact shook the Walrein, it appeared to contemplate retaliation before quickly returning to its herd

Buzz and his two Pokemon carried on the path around the icy lake, being very careful to avoid the slippy rocks, and an icy demise. They soon reached the entrance to the small tunnel. it was just about big enough for Buzz. "Sorry, Electro, I don't think you will fit."

With Electro quickly returned to his ball, then Buzz, and River, set off through the tunnel. Buzz walked with his hands pressed against the wall to ensure he kept heading in the right direction.

"While you fumble around in the dark, I thought I should let you know there is a Pokemon, about twenty metres up ahead," River said, using her psychic abilities to guide herself through the dark.

Well do you know what it is? Buzz said, as he fell over a rock.

"No, but it's thinking about batlling, so I assume it is a fighting type."

"Ok, well given the way the trip as gone so far, it probably wants to battle us, so lets make a pre-emptive strike. First use Psychic, but imbibe your beam with a Confuse Ray," Buzz instructed.

Buzz scrambled to his feet and rumaged around his bag, feeling for a torch, or match, or anything bright. His hands grasped around something soft, before odd thoughts leapt into his mind, he remembered he had purchased a Poké Doll in the shape of Rudolf the Reindeer. "Actually, River, I'll just throw this at it should do the job," Buzz said, also pulling out his flash light.

Buzz threw the doll, as hard, as space allowed, then flicked the torch on, and aimed it at the doll, following its trajectory.
