Beginner RP: WalabyX [Sandy Beach]

Battle Post 6:

The Magikarp tries wildly to escape, paddling as fast as its fried fins can carry it. Meanwhile, Ampere splashes after it, rubbing its fur together to prepare a Thunder Shock. With his target eschewing defense to simply try and escape as fast as possible, it's easy for the electric sheep to line up a direct hit, shocking their target. He's about to go for another Shock before he pauses, the smile fading from his face a moment. Ampere's no dummy, and he can tell his opponent is already hurting. Reconsidering the choice to strike to damage, Ampere simply emits a low-wave current to lock up the fish's muscles without hurting it any further.

The fish, meanwhile, begins to panic, finally losing its cool. For years, it had thought of itself as a king among Magikarps. Now it was finally beginning to realize just how little that meant. As Ampere turns back to shout happily at his Trainer, the hapless fish, barely able to move a muscle, bobs to the surface of the water.

Walaby looks a bit concerned.
"God job Ampere... I think we may have overdone it a bit..."
Walaby runs out to the now soaked Flaaffy and pats it on the head.
"You did good buddy. I'll take it from here."
Walaby wades further out to where the Magikarp lies, and removes an energy powder, a lava cookie, and a park ball from his bag.
Walaby reaches the fish and says in a quite, reassuring voice.
"Hey, there buddy. I'm not going to hurt you. I want to help you and make you an offer."
He moves around between the Magikarp and the open water, bringing the fish into his arms.
He begins to walk the fish back to shore, breaking off a piece of the lava cookie and feeding it to the Magikarp.
"Easy there, buddy, I'm not gonna hurt you. I want you to come with me and my friends. Together, we can help you become even stronger! Have you ever heard of Gyarados? That's what I see in your future, little guy. What do you say?"
Walaby rubs some of the energy powder on the Magikarp as they close in on the shore.
He puts the fish down just before they reach the beach and offers it the Park Ball.
Axel and Ampere put their arms around each other and give reassuring looks to the Magikarp
"AXEW, axe!"
"Flaaaaaaffy!"
"How about it, buddy? Will you come with us?"

 

Non-Battle Post 6:

The Magikarp certainly wasn't in a position to say no, that's for sure. Paralyzed and surrounded, barely able to move? In a "normal" fight for it, it'd be seconds from becoming a Basculin's lunch. And yet, the victor picked her up and carried her to safety. He fed her, helped her recover. The fish was taken aback. To engage a foe, and yet to live? To be comforted? It was unheard of.

For providing such mercy, she felt a debt was owed. Bit by bit, as she regained her strength, the fish nodded, slowly at first, then more vigorously, before swatting her tail against the Park Ball. It shook once, twice, three times, before clicking loudly, registering the Magikarp as Walaby's to keep.

Jake walked back to Walaby, clapping him on the shoulder happily. "Congrats, man! How does it feel? So, there's a couple ways we could go from here. I know you picked up a whole bunch of fishing gear, so if you want to put that to use, we can hang out and fish a little, maybe catch something else? You can cap as many as you like, but the limit's on only one brought out of the park, I got it twisted a second ago. And hey," he continued, scratching Ampere on the head, "You did fantastic out there yourself!"

"Thanks! I hope this little guy will prove to be an asset to my team. I think I'm ready to head out. I've done what I came here to do."
Walaby tosses the Park Ball into the air, sending the newly caught Magikarp into the water beside him. It lands with a splash and looks around, apparently a little confused that it's out of the poke ball so soon. It looks up at her new trainer, with a look of slight confusion.
"Alright, little missy, what shall we call you. hmm... Lagoon of Rage... How about Regina?"
The Magikarp considers this for a moment, before swimming around in a circle and flipping into the air. Walaby gets soaked.
"HAHA, hey watch it! Regina it is. Welcome to the team!"
Axel and Ampere rush over to their new companion and make congratulatory noises.
"Axew!"
"Flaaf!"
"Karp!"
"Looks like we're all ready to go. Shall we head back then, sir? Regina, you can swim alongside the boat if you like. Once we get to shore, you'll have to get back in the ball, but there's no reason for you to stay cooped up in there until then."

 

Non-Battle Post 7 (Final):

"Regina, eh? Good name! Hopefully she manages to make it big. I'm looking forward to seeing how you guys do! You've already made one fan!" With that, it was finally time to return, with Oliver turning to start up the boat again and nodding peacefully as the engine sputtered to life. Satisfied with the machinery, he turned back to his charge, sitting by the edge of the boat to keep an eye on his new companion. "Gotta say, though, I'm sorry you bought up all that fishing gear... Can you get a return on your deposit? Because if not, I made a bet with a couple other Rangers a while back about Wailmer fishing and I kind of need a way to make returns..."
