Beginner RP: OmegaBlazer [Mt. Deckbi]

BP #5

Even though his Pokemon had been trapped, Randel still cheered his Combusken on, quite loudly too. The sound echoed off the walls of the cave they were in. Aleria hoped it wouldn't attract anymore Pokemon while they were battling, though she doubted it would. If it did, the Pokemon attracted would probably stay in the shadows until the battle was over. Pokemon found in the park were typically smart enough to not interfere with an already ongoing battle.

Speaking of the battle, Aleria brought her attention back to that. When she looked back at it, she saw Combusken trying to kick the sand towards Sandshrew. It was working a bit. Some of it did get into her eyes, but it could've been worse. Still, because Sandshrew did get some of the sand in her eyes, she was unable to react in time to the Double Kick that first knocked her into the air, then a second kick knocked her into some of the rocks nearby. The Sand Tomb still trapped Combusken though as the sand followed him wherever he went.

Sandshrew dug underground when she recovered from the attacks. She came up underneath Combusken, striking the Fire and Fighting type Pokemon with a poison laced fist. Combusken was knocked down from the attack, though he didn't seem to sustain any injuries otherwise.

As Randel watched his Pokemon starting to slice and kick away at the sand that trapped him and caused his attacks to be weaker. Eventually, the Combusken started to follow through with the attacks and issue a nice square set of kicks. Unluckily for both Combusken and Randel, they forgotten that the ground was soft enough to Dig through. Groaning a little bit, the trainer tried to wait until he saw or heard signs of movement, but before he could react to it, the shrewd Pokemon had leaped out of the ground.

Combusken, clearly thrown off and angry from the sneak attack, glared at the other for a nice long while but Randel, having a ball in hand, threw it as hard and fast as he could at her from behind, hoping the combination of the battle and the surprise throw would be enough to seal the deal

BP #6

Trainer and Pokemon were thrown off by Sandshrew's quick thinking. Still, her quick thinking couldn't stop the Park Ball Randel had thrown from hitting her. It struck and she was absorbed into the ball.

The ball shook once, then twice, then three times before clicking shut.

Aleria stepped forward and picked up the ball, dropping it in her bag. "Nice work," she said, turning to Randel. "I'll have to hold onto the Sandshrew until you leave, but nice work." She looked over at Combusken for a moment before bringing her attention back to Randel. "Do you want to take a break before moving forward?"

Randal laughed as he jumped in the air before seeing his Combusken and hearing the words of the Ranger as he nodded, "Yes, a rest sounds pretty good, but I'd feel better if we weren't in such a cramped spot, just in case other Pokemon happen to be around, you know what I mean?" Though, he did dig through his bag a little bit and made a face, "Ohhh...I wish they provided some berries instead of this Powder," he commented, "But..." He headed towards his hurt Combusken, "Look, I'm sorry, I know this taste like crap, but it's what they provided," he commented, handing the Powder contents to Blazer.

Blazer, seeing the powder and hearing his Trainer nodded before pecking away at it, forcing it down before poking at his PokeBall.

"Yes, of course, you do need a nice rest," with that, he pull the Ball off of his belt and returned the chicken.

 

NBP #6

Now that the battle was over, Randel had the opportunity to heal his injured Combusken. After a little spat with a Geodude earlier in the run and then the recent encounter with a Sandshrew that resulted in a capture, it was obvious that the Combusken needed a moment to heal up. Randel took out his Energy Powder and held it out for his chicken-like Pokemon to consume. Aleria could see that Combusken didn't like the powder, most Pokemon didn't, but he forced it down regardless.

Once the Combusken was back in his Poke Ball, Aleria nodded to Chandelier, who floated a little ahead of the group to shed some light on the cave. It wasn't long before they were back outside though, and once they were outside, the path split into two paths. It didn't seem like either one led anywhere special, but it was either take one of the paths or turn back around and go back through the cave.

"Do you have a preference on which way we go?" she asked. "We can turn back around and go back through the cave if you'd like too."

Aleria didn't bother to return Chandelier in case Randel decided to head back through the cave. There was no sense in putting her back in her ball only to take her back out a moment later.

With the battle all done, Blaze back in his ball, and 2 encounters down, Randel started to follow the Ranger back out of the cave and noticed there were two...well, three, routes they could take. However, the Trainer seemed to be a little unsure about which route would be the best as he chuckled softly saying, "Well, I'll be honest, I don't want to be back in that cave again," before finally picking the left hand path. As he started to look around, he seemed to be scanning around, as if searching for Pokemon to add to their team, "Hmmm...I forgot how many Pokemon is it that we can encounter. Also, we only pick 1 Pokemon to take home, right?"

It looked like even Randel was confused about which path to take. "Well, I'll be honest, I don't want to be back in that cave again," he said with a soft chuckle. Well, that was one path knocked down. They still had two more to choose from. He ultimately chose the left path.

Aleria nodded and returned Chandelier to her Poke Ball before leading Randel down the left path. They were out in the daylight now, so they wouldn't be needing Chandelier's light anymore. The sun would provide them with enough light to get through the rest of their run, unless they came across another cave. There were more trees, albeit dead trees, down this path, so Aleria doubted they'd find any caves anytime soon.

"I forgot how many Pokemon it is that we can encounter," Randel said. Aleria was about to answer, but he popped a question as well. "Also, we only pick one Pokemon to take home, right?"

She nodded. "You can encounter five Pokemon today, so you've got three encounters left. And you'll get to take home one, yeah."

A soft chirping brought her attention to the trees. In one of them was a small orange and black feathered bird. It was cleaning its feathers, as Aleria couldn't see its face, but she recognized the bird easily. It was a Fletchling, a Pokemon she dreamed of having one day as it evolved into the Fire and Flying type, Talonflame. "Well, let's make that two encounters," she said with a bit of a laugh. "Are you interested in a Fletchling?"

It hadn't noticed their arrival yet, so it was possible that they could get by undetected.

As they walked down the lefthand path, he heard the Ranger answer to his questions, "You can encounter five Pokemon today, so you've got three encounters left. And you'll get to take home one, yeah." Though, just then he also heard the calls of the Flying-Type Pokemon and chuckled softly when the Ranger corrected herself to accommodate for the MALE Fletchling, "You know what, I bet he's make a good companion as well. Though, I'd hate to have to chose at the end..." With that, he started to reach towards one of the his two PokéBalls only to move over one, thinking something over, "GO BLUE PYRO!" he shouted as he started to send out his pupal-like Shelgon with a bit of a smile, "Use Flamethrower at that Fletchling!"

While he was being freed from the Pokemon, the dragon Pokemon started to take in a deep breath of air before spraying out a torrent of flames towards the dead tree that the Pokemon was inhabiting.

Aleria nodded, stepping back a bit so that she could see the battle that was about to unfold while also giving Randel and his Shelgon the space to fight. Fletchling let out a curious chirp when she heard the trainer shout while releasing his Pokemon from his Poke Ball. When he saw the Shelgon on the ground before him, the tiny bird flapped his wings, though he didn't move. It didn't kick up a gust of wind, but it looked like it was just doing it as a sign of intimidation.

Shelgon obliged to the Flamethrower, taking in a deep breath of air before shooting out a steady stream of flames from his mouth. They went straight for the Fletchling, who watched them as they came towards him. And then Fletchling flapped his wings again and soared.

The flames stopped, and when they did, a tiny bird on fire appeared and struck the Shelgon. It wasn't enough to knock the Dragon type over, but Fletchling did a hit and run, knocking into the Shelgon and then swooping back up into the air as the flames dissipated from his tiny body. Aleria opened her mouth to speak, but she watched the tiny bird violently flap his wings. The wind current picked up this time to the point where she could see what almost looked like blades of wind strike the Shelgon. When he was done, the bird returned to his perch on the tree, eyes locked on the Dragon type.
