I think it would also to be fun to have the battlers explain their strategy at the end or as the go along. Then, after the battle is done you would write your own editorial about the battle strategies.

    This. Forever.

I'm totally all for emphasizing the battling aspect of the URPG, because it really is what sets us apart. I'm wondering if there's a way we could choose to present ourselves that would be immediately obvious to anyone just browsing things, like a Mission Statement, but less... Mission Statement-y

To be honest... something mimicking a pamphlet wouldn't be a horrible idea. Make us seem like something really fun and exciting. We could photoshop some pictures of beaches with Pokemon and the like, etc. while also going over the main parts of URPG. I don't know, just a thought. Maybe make it look like a pamphlet for the Battle Frontier or whatever the hell that Wii game was about. Battle Revolution, where it's all cities, n' junk...

HiPS is better with words than me, but still... Why not use what you have?

Harry makes a mean speech that I'm sure will bring the toughest crashing to their knees! Alaska's stories would bode down so well in the Writer's Workshop. MK and Buoy's singing in the Media Menagerie! WTP and Roulette's battling expertise in the Video Game forums, or more specifically the Battle Center! Chainy and Winter's role playing skills would excel in the RP section! Captain Dude's debating in The War Room! The numerous chat threads are all looking for new people with new things to talk about, and they make everyone feel welcome. Go forth and conquer the forums, and while you're at it, (re-)spark an interest in the URPG!

    Waaaay ahead of you.

But yeah, everybody, let's quit being the Pokemon forum's version of antisocial nerds who hide in our bedrooms all day and watch anime. That makes us like... meta antisocial nerds. We have to go deeper.

I think one thing that HiPS could do that might help us, as a gradual first step, of course, would be to have us reclassified as NOT an RPG. Because that's only a part of what we are, as said by others. And while AIM has about 90% the activity, the forums have at least 50% of the members. Its just slower. Hey, when I first joined I didn't want to get AIM. I ended up getting it after I participated in Pidge's forum FFA. I realized that they did what it took several weeks on the forums in roughly a few hours. I was amazed. It appears to me that most people leave get bored because of the slow pace of the forums (make the forums faster? get them into AIM faster?) or because they think that everyone is on AIM and they can't use it.

I dont know if you guys are still talking about this. But I read this and I was reminded how I started (now I may have gone and come back a few times, its why Im not an official haha) I played in the forums thinking this would be really cool. I began to see it was very slow. BUT I was urged by the great Monbrey yo get AIM, and after a lil nagging I finally got it. Glad I did. :D

It has certainly always been our goal to better unite ourselves with the forums upon which we're hosted. That can easily be stated for Pe2K and less so for BMG and TPW since we're relatively new on both. As such, we must work hard to not only reach out to the rest of the forum, but also to become stronger members within this community.

The URPG is far too insular. I think we all know it. Yet, we are all capable of extending our hands and cooperating with other members of these fine communities. We did so before (and currently) on Pe2K and we can easily do so here. All we need to do is try and work hard. This is a talented family who believe in having a good time. Why not share in our love of Pokemon by coordinating with others and reaching out?

The members who have posted before me are correct. We should reach out to other sections, we should coordinate and cooperate in some manner or another. And we have multiple ways of doing so. After all, we have many intelligent video game strategists, creative writers, amazing roleplayers and other skilled members in our community. If we work with our counterparts here, on TPW, and on Pe2K, I believe we can not only create a stronger URPG, but a stronger Pokemon community overall.
