The cartridge game does not have a clause like that. The Self KO Clause is an invention of competitive Pokemon players. We can include it in the URPG if people suggest we do. Also, the Pokemon Company itself has included basically a similar, more in-depth rule to their VGC tournaments. You can read its entirety here:

    http://www.pokemonvgc.com/static/pdf/VGC Regionals Tournament Operation_2011_EN.pdf

However, I'm interested in what happens in BW Wi-fi when someone faints their own last Pokemon and the opponent's last Pokemon from some of these cases. Does the game declare a draw or is there a winner and loser if one of these causes a double KO.

Edit: In the case of Life Orb, it seems the winner is the Life Orb user, as seen through this video, ignore the title, since it clearly says he lost at the end.

In the case of Destiny Bond, the user of Destiny Bond loses:

The user of Rocky Helmet wins:

The user of Final Gambit loses:

Edit Again: Okay, so what it looks like so far is that the Pokemon company decided to make sure you can never tie in a wi-fi battle, and those 'rules' posted are just clarifications. So in a way, the self-ko clause exists in BW innately, but it isn't an additional clause, it is part of the game itself.

I still want to find a BW video with a Perish Song double KO ending, but from the links above, it seems so far...

It's impossible to tie in BW; therefore, you can't tie in a championship battle. That means Xali's suggestion just fails. gg

I missed over a year of URPG drama?!

Man, I'm almost starting to miss URPG. :D

But since URPG is serious business ;) I guess I will also post a bit on topic.

First of all, as DU said it's silly to reverse prizes/winnings/rewards/titles because something was done wrong so long ago. We never did it that way in my days anyway. :)

Secondly, I think TO did have a point in that the rules should be clarified. I think the above posts have done so nicely: a tie means a re-challenge of the E4, but in fact the LO recoil does not make it a tie, but rather a win for Pidge. So without realizing it, the right decision was made back then anyway. There we go! :)

I almost feel like a mod again. Can I post the following once more? :D
