Pummelo Island Gym

People voting Option 2 are just butthurt people who don't have the strategy to be able to fight Option 1-style, so they go for the one that'd probably make just as much impact as the current rules :s

Option one seems best imo. Option 2 wouldn't really do much; people already SPAM things like Drought Ninetales and Drizzle Politoed. They could bring several Weather inducers to counter that special rule.

 

I actually am in favor of option one too, but I guess if people really like it they should VOTE FOR IT. Nah but, does it ultimately come down to the head ref/LO of OI with the poll being more of a reference than a deciding factor? I can't imagine an informal survey deciding something ultimately lol.

 

Just keep it the same. I don't see why everyones overthinking everything!!!!!! The URPG has been this way since like before u were born on the internet so.... I think if they (they being old old members) thought it needs changing, they wouldve done so.

Anyway. I always thought of Pummelo as the Elite Four/Championship battle of the Orange Islands as they are sort of their own challenge outside of the regular monotype gyms, which is why there is not really any kind of special rule, it is just a straight up battle. Maybe we could change it so if you beat the leader of Pummelo you become the leader, like the URPG Champion battle.

But not everyone wants to be the leader after they beat the gym. I mean, if I won I'd rather just have the trophy and be done with it honestly. Champ, imo, should be its own thing. It isn't like any other gym or position, it's its own title. So I think Pummelo should just remain a "gym". But I still think a rule change is overdue. Like I said, though, idk if we just leave it, these are merely suggestions.

EDIT: Also, if it's just a straight up battle, why not just do away with the terrain rule? I think it should be one or the other.

I would go for option 2 cos' Option 1's just annoying and option 3 just makes it the same as any other OI gym basically.

I think option two would work if weather changing abilities (Cloud Nine/Drought/Etc and perhaps weather changing moves as well) were disabled in the matches. You could still use the mon, but those abilities left out would prevent an easy counter to the set rule. I think it'd be kinda fun. I do FFAs with a similar rule.
