I'll have to stand by WTP when it comes to this argument. Although berries are separated already, I've always found this incredibly confusing and useless to have all berries worth $500 if they were used for fighting and more for contest use, this is a massive mess of confusion that I've always found foul and strange.\

The berry prices for battling should be fixed or reverted to normal prices, because an Oran berry and Salac berry are obviously not of same value when it comes to battling. We could lower the prices of berries altogether and undo the separation once more.

Even on Wi-Fi battling was my question - is it the same on Wi-Fi/Link Battle as it is in an in-game Trainer Battle?

On Link battles of any type, as well as Battle Frontier/Battle Subway, ALL items return after the battle.

I'm all for all items being this way in URPG, but of course it only seems logical to increase the price as well. As for people who currently have some, perhaps make everyone return theirs for the old price then be able to buy new ones for the new price?

EDIT: okay i tried mentioning this faggot but its not either we the pichus or we taste pies (without the ...)

Seems like we're all in agreement, more or less.

I think it's fine making the gems and herbs permanent. I suppose I'll leave the price hike in WTP's capable hands.

Members who already own the items can keep them. Additionally, to prevent abuse, I'm putting a hold on all gem and herb purchases until the prices have been fixed.

Berries seem to be a different matter entirely. And I think that Battles and Contests need to coordinate in order to figure out a better method of distribution/usage. At the very least, make the prices for both equal so it's not so confusing.

Prices have been fixed. I bumped all Gems up to 2.5k, Mental Herb to 2k, Power Herb to 2.5k, and White Herb to 3k.

Okay, I want to bring perma Berries back up. I was told basically now that they're already seperated between battle usage/contest usage, so why not make them perm like Gems/etc?

I agree (still) with this, obviously would come with another price increase to appropriate prices. As I said earlier, in game they are after Battle Frontier/Subway and link battles.

I like how this thread came back to life.

I'm still in favor of movie berries of both sections closer together so as to eliminate confusion and simplify the system.

I honestly don't see what's so confusing about having "Battle Berries" and "Contest Berries", as long as you give some sort of explanation as to which is which. I'm all for making Battle Berries reusable, though.

Seperating them would make them ideal for usage in the Battles section as well as the Contests section, though, and if you think about it, it doesn't even seem particularly confusing. For one thing, you buy Battle Berries from the PokeMart and Contest Berries from the Berry Store. You could always put a [Battles] tag after the berries in the PokeMart and a [Contests] tag at the Berry Store, which is a pretty easy to way to simplify it. Besides, you already have the line in the Berry Store about how they can be used as both PokeBlock materials or helds. Why not split them up and put the Battle berries in the PokeMart, and write a line about how those are for battles with a link to the Berry Store for Contest berries (and vice versa)?

It'd be simpler (and cheaper) battle-wise to have battle berries and contest berries separate.

It'd be simpler storage-wise to make all berries the same.

Tell you what: why don't we just make ALL berries battle berries and abolish Contest stats altogether? :D

    not even slightly kidding

When's the last time there was even a Contest that used stats? Most of them seem to just say no stats anyways.

    Ooh, idea.

How about we have Berries for battling, and Poffins for contests?

Also it should be mentioned that the Berry Store was changed so that all berries are the price of Contest Berries, and this means there are one use battle items costing $2,000. That's more than the difference between winning or losing ANY type of battle (excluding certain tournaments), so even IF that berry makes the difference between winning and losing the battle, you still lose money.

Another possibility is to make it so that Contest berries MUST be made into Pokéblocks when purchased.

I'm guessing what you mean is that you can't trade contest berries by this suggestion, so one possibility is to allow trading of tickets or something that can be used to purchase a contest berry that costs X. Otherwise just do Chain's suggest and get rid of attributes altogether.

YES, I REALIZE THERE HASN'T BEEN A POST HERE IN A MONTH, BUT IT NEEDS A DECISION BY STAFF.
